Iced. Cold Brew.

Not instant.

I hate coffee.

In other news, I woke up this morning with a cat on my head and a terrible kink in my neck. Normally there's some anecdote, but not this time. I hurt. That is all.

I cannot and do not partake in coffee because of its acidity. Drinking it makes me feel ill, as do most energy supplement beverages. The most this cat can tolerate is tea. Although I seldom have time to enjoy it, as in truly enjoy it, and that is an unfortunate fact of life. At times I sincerely wish there were more hours in the day for such activities.

I can have one of my eyes go cross-eyed, and keep the other stationary.

There are coffees with lower acidity, but it may not be worth it if you also feel sick afterwards.

I cried on one of my five cats because I realized three of them are getting old and I'm not ready for them to die.

I have been asked the question, "what is it like being in the army?" The best response I have come up with is, "Go ahead and find out." Essentially watching a movie about the military or listening to a veteran tell you about their experience is very different than experiencing it yourself. But I did come across an explanation that really hits the nail on the head. Take with a grain of salt:

Oh, I'm glad you asked. Imagine being told your group of people have to eat a large pot of chicken broth in an hour. Too easy, right? And everyone is handed a knife, spoon, and fork. And it's just chicken broth. So your First Sergeant is so excited he grabs the fork and starts eating. Then tells everyone else to do the same. But you, only being a Private, but having had experience eating broth before are like, "hey, we should use the spoons," but everyone else is like, "well First Sergeant said use the fork." "But the spoon makes more sense. Like that's exactly what it was made for." And everyone continues to use the fork. And when it's not working fast enough, someone suggest you use a mallet. And you just look at the group, then at the spoon, then back at the group, the spoon, then you cry as you count down the days until your contract ends.

That is the Army.

I have pulled all nighters before...no sleep whatsoever one night or more that is.

I'm trying something new.

As many of you know, I have trouble sleeping. For the longest time, I've laid and stared at the ceiling with a thousand thoughts running through my head, or distracted myself with social media until I finally pass out.

I haven't had the inspiration to write anything in a while, and what I have wrote has been forced.

So tonight, I opened up a google doc, and I just wrote whatever came to mind.

Here's to seeing how this works out.

So I have heard, @Hellion. Perhaps sometime I might investigate them to see if I could tolerate the taste and the reduced acidity but overall I find it very difficult to stomach coffee whatsoever. It always surprises me so the way that people drink it in large quantities with little apparent issue; similar to how people can readily eat citrus fruit.

For my fact, one more so than the above, I live by routine and ritual. If I could have it any way I would enjoy, I would be most partial to the same pattern of events each and every day. Spontaneity is not something I value as rather the importance is placed in consistency and stability, that all things might be stable and the same. Changes or variations are little more than frustration and events without planning are seldom more than chaos. So a good amount of this feline's life is built upon making motions and events play themselves out in the most consistent and reliable of ways. Not only is it a safer option, to note when something goes awry, it creates an environment of virtually no anxiety.

Oh, that is the Navy too. And any branch, really. Except the Air Force...they're just spoiled rotten.

My decision on which branch to join came down to those too, and ever since I've kicked myself for not going into the Air Force.

I hear this is a recurring, if not common sentiment. It always evokes a snicker and I cannot say that the feelings are misplaced in the slightest at that. I do suppose I owe a fact now then for this topic regarding myself, do I not? That in mind, I have a fairly entertaining one or at least so much as I believe.

One of the greatest lacking qualities I have in my writing capacity and ability is to adeptly describe what it is that I visualize. By just closing the eyes and looking within, I can see and experience things vividly, but writing them? Converting them from these mental images of tremendous quality and detail to something that is palatable in the vein of written form? Absolutely taxing. One of the most frustrating things about writing I experience is that it is never quite as pictured. It is always in some way off or never evocative enough of the original thought; it always feels as though the idea is never clear enough, failing in its transmission, to a reader.
