This past Sunday morning a friend of mine invited me to a soup kitchen in the downtown area to help feed the homeless there, something of which I'd never done tbh. I was hesitant at first, not being any kind of a social person, and even less so in a room full of complete strangers. But, it was so awesome and so humbling to have experienced it first hand.
My heart broke, esp for the children there, and even listening to those parents who had given up days of not eating so their kids could. I suppose that morning, I also gained a new perspective, and realized that whatever challenges and hardships I may be going through was nothing compared to what those beautiful people had to deal with on a daily basis.
