Donovan's eyes fluttered after he was told the place's purpose. "Uhm...okay." He wasn't exactly surprised given its atmosphere but again he didn't expect to end up in such an environment when he woke up this morning. "I'll be on my way." Perhaps he was making things more awkward than they had to be.
With the receptionist's permission, Donovan went from door to door in an attempt to find the missing boy. The first two doors were a complete bust and only added to how bizarre the situation had become. Wondering why the second guy had on a wizard's hat of all things, Donovan proceeded to the third door. This had better be it. I've had enough of this. Knocking, he was prepared to be met with a sight worse than those before. When a relatively normal guy answered he was relieved.
"Donovan Alford. I'm a monster tamer," he gave his typical introduction before explaining his presence to him. So he was indeed the young man he was looking and he was not being held against his will in any way, shape, or form. Therefore, Donovan judged that he, as a complete stranger, did not have a right to tell him to return to his grandmother. "Uh...enjoy yourself I guess." Was that an appropriate thing to say?
Having reached a conclusion, Donovan headed to the exit in a hurry. He had no reason to be there beyond the job and that was resolved Whether or not he'd be rewarded since he was not actually returning the young man home did not matter. He would sleep peacefully knowing that he did not tear apart two genuine lovers. "Ready to go, boy?" Donovan asked Torch after making his way out. The Magma Dog leaped onto his feet upon seeing his tamer, pawing at his legs with enthusiasm. "Good because now it's time for the hard part."
While on the way back to the grandmother's house Donovan mentally prepared himself to tell her that her grandson was going to live his own life and that she'd have to accept it or do something about it that didn't involve him. Okay, maybe that was overstepping his boundaries. Either way, her grandson wasn't coming home and he wasn't going to make him. That was all he needed to get across.
