Hey everyone,

I have some semi-bad news. I need to take about a month off from this RP. I'm so close to finishing my first full length novel, and there are other things going on in my life as well that need attention.

I know, "We've already been going slow for over a month now." Well, I apologize for that; it's my responsibility as GM to nudge the RP along when it gets bogged down, and I have failed there. But now, we are taking an "official" break.

I hope that everyone has become invested enough in this story that, when the time comes, we can pick up where we left off without much trouble.

Just kidding, I did sort of leave this RP behind, but I had a thought today. I could revamp this RP in a major way, if you all are interested. Here me out...

I'm proposing, that we do a time skip, say one year-ish. In fact I think, picking it up on the New Year's after the arrival of Pokemon on Earth would be a good point. That way, everyone could reminisce about what life was like for them during that year.

This would also be a great way to let new RPers into this RP. In fact, I would like to open this RP up indefinitely and create something of a Sandbox style RP. It would take a little restructuring, but I think it's very doable. I would only post when major catastrophic events happen (such as Legendary Pokemon activity). I would also make a section for missions that you all could choose from as writing prompts. And of course, you can suggest missions as well.

Instead of tracking Pokemon leveling up, what Pokemon you carry, how much currency you have, and so on, I would let you all decide that yourselves. This wouldn't be a PvP RP as much as a Co-op to deal with the world's issues. Now, of course, you could battle each other on your own time, and I would be down for Pokemon Showdown battles every now and then when you want to face a "Big Bad" or legendary Pokemon.

Missions will be like quests where multiple people join up for a cause. Once you complete the mission, your group disperses. You can take a break as long as you like and start a new mission whenever you're ready. This way, people can join and drop out in intervals. Plus, we can have multiple missions going on at the same time.

I think I'll go ahead and get to work on this. Shouldn't be too hard and shouldn't take too much of my time. I still have all the Pokemon placed all around the world and stuff.

This one should be fine, as it is not PvP oriented or based heavily on gameplay mechanics.

I have firmly decided that I won't be keeping track of people's characters anymore. You'll have to keep track of what Pokemon you have. If you want to use hiders, go for it.

Also, we're starting almost a year later, so it doesn't matter what Pokemon you had before.

Well, it's good to have you back. Do you want to start a new roleplay? I'm thinking of giving this one another try. I'm going one of two directions with it.

One, I'm thinking of making it a Free roleplay, where people can join in casually and find/battle Pokemon around the world.

Two, I could make it a 1x1 roleplay where somebody (in this scenario, you) would play the protagonist, while I play the AI characters and stuff. And if other people wanted to join, they could play the side characters that travel with you, your rival, or some other side role.

Any of that sound interesting?
