So lately I've had an idea for a sci-fi/fantasy crossover universe, and I'm interested in seeing if anyone would be interested in roleplaying in such a world. Please let me know if you have any suggestions and/or if you're interested.
In the year 2108 all hell broke loose - literally.
Humanity had grown restless on Earth, and after depleting most of its natural resources headed for the stars. Technology had advanced to the point where space travel was far from impossible, and small colonies had already been established on both the Moon and Mars. But humanity, ever fickle, wanted more, and began to expand beyond the Sol System.
This, however, did not go unnoticed.
On the fateful day of April 5th, 2108 - just as humanity was about to launch its first expedition into the galaxy beyond, the universe itself was torn apart. The Angels, seeing humanity's expansion as a threat to both their dwindling worship and their hold on humanity, descended upon the mortal realm with the intent to kill or enslave all humans. In doing so they ripped open the veil that divided the supernatural plane of existence from the mortal one, a reckless move that held unintended consequences.
The Demons, up until now had been trapped in their underworld, held back from by the veil. It was only a heavenly influence that could destroy such a thing, and so they'd remained apathetic - content to watch the humans advance. When the veil was torn, however, they took it upon themselves to enter the mortal world. Some entered the human world only to entertain themselves, others took up the mantle and helped humanity fend off the Angels - viewing it as a mutual gain. When all was said and done, the Angels, after wiping out over 1 billion humans, retreated back to their heavenly realm, sealing the veil behind them.
While the humans were now free, the demons once again, were trapped. This time within the mortal realm. Only a lucky few had managed to re-cross the barrier before it's closure, leaving a large majority of demons to remain with the humans. This was met with understandably mixed feelings. Some humans welcomed the demons seeing them as comrades, others despised them claiming that it wouldn't be too long before they turned against humanity as the angels had done. On the other side, some demons were happy enough to stay behind and cause chaos in the mortal realm, while others felt alienated and longed to once again return to hell.
That was close to 150 years ago.
Nowadays relations between humans and demons are iffy at best. While the two races have established a truce, it's not all that uncommon for skirmishes to break out between the two. Pair that with the fact that both sides have extremists who wish to extinguish the other, and you've got yourself a ticking time-bomb.
So where will you come into play? Will you help bring peace between the two, or will you reveal in its inevitable chaos?

The title is pretty self explanatory. Our RP takes place in 2256 AD. Humans have long since traveled the stars and many colonies and planets are now inhabited by humans, and - of course - demons. While the two have remained fairly separate from one another (as they each have their own territories), there's no shortage of overlap. And where's there's overlap there's almost always a fight breaking out.
You can play as a human or a demon (any kind of demon from any mythology is permitted), and the universe is at your fingertips.
I have some other world-building ideas that I will explain if this gets enough interest, but as it currently stands I'd love to get feedback on the plot.
