Powers – The alien gauntlet can create energy blasts as well as project a force field of energy. The same blue energy can also be used as a large blue robot arm that will eventually lead to creating a full mech suit construct.
Weaknesses – He's only human and possesses the same weaknesses as anyone in standard civilian clothes. Eventually gets a light body armor that provides a little more durability.
Day Job – Works as a laborer refurbishing buildings, houses, and apartment complexes.
How did Arrowcaster find you? (see Sample Post)
BRIEF Bio – Judah was your average kid from Highland. He grew up poor and eventually had to drop out of Jefferson High School his senior year to work full time to help take care of his terminally ill mother. Six months ago she finally passed away and Judah continues to deal with it all. His father ran off years earlier without a word.
Judah got his own apartment in Highland, above an old arcade on the outskirts of the neighborhood. His boss, a somewhat sleazy contractor by the name of Blake, had helped him get set up. Over the last several months Judah used his job to take his mind off of everything. That was when it was simple. Sixteen days ago, Judah found the alien gauntlet behind a building he had been working on.
How will your character be different one year later?
The gauntlet will begin growing up his arm and into his chest, and he will have developed the construct into a full mech suit. Think of it like Green Lantern's super move construct in the Injustice 2 game...
Sample Post – (Arrowcaster recruiting your character)
Sixteen days ago Judah Marlowe thought he saw a falling star land in some woods behind a building he was refurbishing. Judah happened to be taking a break outside, and taking a leak on a tree as there was no working plumbing in the facility nor a port-o-potty in sight. Investigating the blue glow, Judah discovered the severed arm of some sort of alien, with a tech'ed out gauntlet. After the hand of the alien arm began moving a blue flash saw the gauntlet now permanently stuck to the young man's arm. Now with a bio-mechanical forearm and a little bit of pee on his pants, Judah ran off in the direction of his apartment.
Ten days ago the contractor, Blake, visited the unfinished job and wondered where Judah had been the last few days. Around that time a mosquito took fluid from the remaining alien flesh in the woods, before landing on some mutt dog for a few moments. Taking a bit of the dog's blood and exposing it to the alien DNA was enough to kill the homeless runt... but then the blood sucker landed on Blake and exposed him to two different types of DNA.
Two days ago the contractor had been completely transformed into some alien dog hybrid creature. Judah had used the powers of the gauntlet to defeat the monstrosity and unknowingly caught the attention of Arrowcaster.
Power: Love Gaze - Natalia has the power to make anyone fall in love with her so deeply that they are compelled to follow her every command. The effect of her power wears off on a target if Nat herself dispels the effect or the time limit of her power runs up. Her target can be affected by looking at her eyes either directly or through reflections. When using her power, her eyes glow bright pink.
Skills: Acrobatics - Natalia can perform walks on tightropes and do head-stances on just her fingers with grace and balance, and cartwheels and mid-air somersaults with great ease. She's very light on her feet, allowing her to easily evade hits by outmaneuvering her enemies and being able to jump high and afar even when stationary. She's also limber as she's able to bend, twist, and contort her body in positions no ordinary human can do. Additionally, her skills as an acrobat greatly improved her agility, giving her impressive parkour and free-running skills, allowing her to scale almost any surface or terrain quickly and squeeze through most barriers and small spaces with ease.
Weaknesses:
Nat's power may not work on those who already deeply love someone.
It will not work on people who do not feel affection of any kind.
It will not work on robots or androids.
Those who have a strong mental capacity or mental-based powers may block out Nat's powers from affecting them.
The effect of her power on a target will greatly weaken if Nat commands them to do something they physically can't do.
Her commands may be useless on someone who's too dumb to even understand what she's saying.
Her target must understand the language she's using to command them, although they can still be smitten by her.
Nat is still human, so she can be killed and injured just like any other human.
She couldn't do much in a very tight space.
While she's very fast, Nat will find it difficult when she's facing a physically stronger and heavier opponent.
Q: How did Arrowcaster find you? A: He saw her defeat a trio of rude men on her own to save a civillian.
BRIEF Bio: Back in her country, Natalia was once part of a circus act known as The Aria Mina which composed of her and her parents. Her parents were quite famous back then, and she was also widely regarded as a show-stopper because nobody has seen a very skilled acrobat at such a young age. Her power also manifested during her time as a circus performer. Their leader found out about it and used her power to compel more people in watching the circus, making him earn more money than ever. Nat's parents found out their leader was using her for his greed so they decided turn their backs on the circus life and use their hard-earned money to fly to America to protect Natalia and start a new life. The Mina family were content with their simple and quaint life, but they didn't tell Nat to not use her powers again. Despite being normal humans, they encouraged and helped her master her power as best as they could so she can use it for good and to protect herself. They also used their acrobatic skills to use, with her parents going on to become professional acrobatics teachers while Natalia joined the cheerleading squad of her school.
Q: How will your character be different one year later? A: Hopefully Natalia would become stronger to the point that she can command anyone using her voice as well. She'll be a widely regarded hero in her own might, serving as an example that not all heroes have to be tough and brooding all the time to be taken seriously.
Sample Post:
It was a bit late at night and Natalia was walking from the bus stop on her way home. She could really use some snack to eat, but her train of thought was interrupted by a scream. She found out that it came from a lady being surrounded by three men. She hid behind a tree on the sidewalk and she saw how the men laughed and looked at the poor lady menacingly, surrounding her like a pack of wolves while the poor lady begged them to stop and go away. Based on what she could hear from her hiding spot, these men wanted to steal her purse but decided they wanted to 'do something fun.'
Natalia was disgusted. She looked around if anyone could help the lady. Unfortunately, it was already a bit late at night and almost no one would walk by this part of town if they're not working late. She turned back at the situation with the man reaching out as if to grab the lady's shoulder. It's now or never; Nat dropped her bags first and then approached them, wearing a cheerful grin as she skipped to them.
One of the men nudged at the other two and all of them looked at her with wolfish grins. "Hey there, sweetie. Wanna join us?". The men laughed almost like hyenas with the poor lady cowering and closing her eyes in fear.
Natalia giggled. "Why, of course I would love to join you fellas! But there's something I want to ask you guys first..."
"And what's that, baby?", one of them asked. Two of them went beside Natalia while the other stayed with the lady. She made sure they all looked at her before blinking long. When she opened her eyes, they glowed bright pink. "Do you love me?~".
The men's eyes briefly glowed pink, signifying that her power took effect on them. Their expressions changed and they smiled dreamily as they looked at her adoringly. "Yes, we do. We love you more than anything in the world", they said in unison.
"Awww, thank you! You guys do seem awfully tired though. If you guys really love me, I want all of you to close your eyes and go... to... sleep~". Immediately, they all dropped to the ground, snoring.
Nat turned to the lady with her eyes no longer glowing, tapping her shoulder as she opened her eyes. "No need to worry, ma'am. You're safe now!". The lady looked around her in shock before looking back at Natalia. In response, the lady hugged her, calling her a hero and even giving her a few dollars as thanks. Nat tried to refuse and say she wasn't a hero but the lady already ran off from fear but not before thankfully waving back at the young girl who saved her. Nat waved back at her and looked at the sleeping men.
With a spring on her step, Natalia turned around and skipped back to the tree where she dropped her stuff. However, she was surprised to see a man standing there holding a bow and arrow. It took a second for Nat, but her eyes grew wide in shock and she gasped. "O.M.G. Robin Hood?! I thought you aren't real!", Nat said. Arrowcaster slapped his forehead and sighed.
Secret Identity – Rick Harley Codename – Roach Boy Age – 17 Powers – Thanks to his cockroach DNA Rick has superhuman speed, though nothing overly impressive, and is able to run 70 miles per hour with the increased reflexes to match. He is also much stronger than the average human and can lift a maximum of 1500 pounds. Finally he can hold his breath for 40 minutes. Weaknesses – He can't stand the cold as it makes him lethargic and if he stays exposed to temperatures of 32 Fahrenheit or below for long enough it can kill him. Also while he is tougher then baseline humans he is far below of being bullet or knife proof. Personality – Intelligent, determined, levelheaded, honest, brave Experience – One month Day Job – Student
How did Arrowcaster find you?
It wasn't that hard to guess that the kidnapped and injected with cockroach DNA Rick was the same person as the new roach themed hero.
BRIEF Bio –
When Rick was ten years old he was kidnapped by a mad scientist obsessed wanting to create an army of super humans. The experiments performed on him consisted of repeated injections of genetically altered cockroach DNA and exposure to nonlethal amounts of radiation. Luckily he and several other guinea pigs were saved three weeks later with Rick being the only one to show zero signs of any kind of mutation.
However during puberty Rick began to notice his powers slowly developing. At first he thought it was a coincidence but a quick check of both his abilities and weakness to cold made it very likely it was due to the cockroach DNA. About nine weeks ago his powers reached their current level and he eventually decided to become a superhero hoping that the fact he hadn't been in the news for over five years meant most people would have forgotten about the kidnapping incident.
How will your character be different one year later?
He will use the resources of the hideout and the connections he made as a superhero to further the experiments performed on him on his own terms using the DNA of several different insects, first gaining the ability to grow an exoskeleton at will further increasing his strength and making him tougher. A while later he will add roachlike wings and finally accelerated healing and the ability to regrow lost limbs.
Sample Post – (Arrowcaster recruiting your character)
Rick still couldn't believe someone had found out who he was after just one month. He had known it was likely but he had taken precautions, like only going after small time thugs and never operating closer than a forty minute run from where he lived, sure his super hero and theme were a big hint but still.
At least this Arrowcaster guy didn't seem like a villain and if his offer was true it was too good to pass up on. "All right, a superhero team seems like a good idea and I clearly need more help than I thought."
Powers – Limited use of 'magic', though a more accurate term might be energy manipulation. He has a core inside his body that draws in ambient energy and converts it into the type he can use. Has a slight regeneration power though it feeds off of his energy core. The core can sustain him in place of food and water, and reduces fatigue to minimal amounts. A black belt in karate, as well as a student in several other schools of martial arts. Has combined his knowlege of karate, muai tai, and energy manipulation to form his own fighting style called Bakuken, which condenses the energy into coils around his legs and arms to increase the power of his punches and kicks. The coils create explosions when flexed, allowing him to potentially manoeuvre in mid air. Is currently studying history at university. Has enhanced information retention which, combined with his lack of a need to sleep, gave him the misnomer of genius and allowed him to graduate conventional schooling two years early.
Weaknesses – Bakuken is an unfinished style, and the explosions injure Felix each time they are used. Though his body is enhanced, his brain is (mostly) human, and suffers from sleep deprivation, albiet in double the time it takes for normal people. A flirt, from a family of flirts, with many angry women and their husbands after his head.
Personality – Witty, Secretive, Playful, Chaotic, Just Experience – 17 Days Day Job – Student
How did Arrowcaster find you? He found Felix testing out his Bakuken.
BRIEF Bio – {Official Story} Felix had been absorbing energy from a young age. Back then he was a much bigger handful as he lacked the self control learned from martial arts. His parents started him on karate at the age of six, sending him to a local dojo in the hopes of taming the overenergised kid. With an outlet for his vast energy, Felix flourished in the art, earning a black belt by the age of twelve. He also decided to research different styles of martial arts to make his own style. The first time he manifested his energy was at fifteen. A thug tried to mug him and pulled out a gun. Before the guy could shoot him, a burst of energy came from Felix, brutally burning the guy. It was horrific and enlightening for Felix, as it was another part of himself to master. So began his foray into creating the Bakuken, or Exploding Fist, style.
How will your character be different one year later? An increased mastery of the Bakuken means he would be able to control his explosions so they don't harm him, which would lead to him being able to fight in three dimensions.
Sample Post – Breathe in. Breathe out. Focus the energy, feel it coil around your arms. Tighter, tighter still, keep going until you feel the energy become unstable. That's it, almost there. Good, now PUNCH!
The resulting explosion blew Felix off his feet, but that was secondary compared to the pain now shooting up from his arm. His hand was covered with burns and... yup, those were broken fingers. Pulling the fingers back into their correct positions, he wrapped up his hand in the bandages he had brought with him for this exact eventuality, wincing all the while. Once he had finished he looked over the warehouse he was using for practice. Hey, was that a support beam he hit... crap.
Grabbing the meagre possessions he brought with him, he ran as the creaking of a near toppling building rose until...
Snap.
The warehouse caved in on itself, nearly burying Felix along with it. Note to self, less coils in the future. Just as he thought things couldn't get any worse, Arrowcaster showed up. "Uh... I can explain?" the youth said.
Fortunately, the hero wasn't going to arrest the youth, instead offering him a spot on their team. He accepted, mostly because he figured they had a decent med bay for any hiccups he had while refining his style.
Face Secret Identity – Anna Bourke Codename – Hack-cula and Robostein 'Robbie' Age – 19 Powers – Anna, being a direct descendant of a watered down vampiric bloodline, retains few of her ancestor's powers, but still retains a few. Her strength, endurance and speed are slightly higher than that of your average 19 year old girl, but nothing to gawk at. She probably has the attributes of an athlete and no higher, going toe to toe with a super strong brawler would no doubt end in a broken back for her. The main power she has gained from her bloodline is her ability to turn into a small vampire bat. This combined with her enhanced speed means she can escape from harm quickly.
Anna's main power is her intellect, she is extremely intelligent and a prodigy at most intellectual pursuits. She was introduced to robotics at a young age, and just about finished her magnum opus(so far) recently. That being Robostein, a 7 foot tall metal machine man ready to fight crime with her. Furthermore, she brings a variety of inventions out with her the two main being her goggles and her pistol.
Her goggles are an invention of Anna's that allows her to take her hacking expertise to the street. They are capable of targeting and accessing most computer or computer related systems which can then be hacked using a small keyboard fastened to the wrist of her costume. Furthermore, they are also capable of nightvision and thermal vision.
Her pistol is her main source of defense when not under the protection of Robostein. It fires electrified rubber bullets used to tase and subdue criminals who get a bit too close. The butt of the pistol can also be electrified when used to pistol whip.
Robostein is an extremely durable, extremely strong brawler. He is capable of tossing small cars and shrugs off bullets. While unable to speak or a huge amount of higher thought, Robostein is still somewhat sentient and responds badly to Anna being hurt. If distressed enough he can fly into a fit of rage and exceed his physical limitations, at the cost of damaging himself possibly until destruction. Weaknesses – Anna has all the weaknesses of a normal human - or vampire bat if in that form. Robostein, however is a bit more hard to pin down. His exterior is very durable, meaning small arms fire barely affects him. However, if one were to somehow tear off the outer parts of his armour to reveal his inner components a small pistol could potentially do a lot of damage. Furthermore, a battle with another super strong brawler could be rather dangerous for Robostein as he is not invincible and could be beaten into destruction.
She also burns easily. Not like full vampire burn to death, but she does need to apply a bit of sun cream before heading to the beach. Personality – Outgoing - Reliable - Inquisitive - Insecure - Quirky Experience – About a month and a half Day Job – Studies engineering and linguistics at university on a scholarship.
How did Arrowcaster find you? Anna's hacking exploits brought her up on his radar, but she only really got his attention after going out with Robostein into Mega City at night.
BRIEF Bio – Anna was born in Berlin Germany, to a watered down bloodline of vampires stemming from her father's side mixing with the entirely human family tree of her mother's side. Her life was actually rather normal growing up, her parents never revealed her vampiric heritage to her until she was older and her fangs never really grew in until puberty anyway.
However, she did have something else that set her apart from the crowd - a genius level of intellect and the ability to progress rather rapidly at intellectual pursuits. She rapidly advanced through school and was toying with mechanics at the age of 12. She was offered a scholarship to Mega City university at the age of 18, and gladly accepted the chance to leave her hometown and live in the states for a while.
It was in Mega City she got the inspiration to hero-up. Seeing the heroes saving citizens of the city inspired Anna and she decided to use her intellect and what little supernatural ability she had to help people. She started off doing what she knew, hacking. She went under the moniker "Hack-Cula" and began targeting deep web red rooms and corrupt government conspiracies. All the while she was doing this she began developing her crime fighting gear. The biggest project this 'gear' involved was Robostein, her own personal sidekick.
After the completion of Robostein she hit the streets, and has began making a small name for herself in Mega-City.
How will your character be different one year later? If possible I'd have Anna's latent vampiric abilities come forth after her 20th birthday. Of course, nothing too powerful, but enhanced abilities would be cool. Also I was thinking she might gain a thirst for blood along with these powers, and have to begin dealing with this without harming innocent people. I was also thinking that along with being weaker without blood she could fly into a sort of hunger induced rage if she is without it long enough and have to be subdued by the rest of the team?
I'd also like her engineering skill to develop quite a bit, and maybe have a Robostein 2.0 built or being built a year later.
Sample Post – Anna sat on the edge of the building, pizza slice in hand as she strolled through twitter on her phone. Next to her sat her robotic companion, the towering 7 foot behemoth confusedly shoving pizza into his mouth and not understanding fully what he was doing.
After about a minute of procrastination the headphones on Anna's ears stopped playing her playlist and buzzed in to a police disturbance, she hurriedly pulled her goggles down over her eyes, stuffed her phone into her pocket and stood up, placing a hand to her ear to listen in.
~-~-~BzzzZZttt~-~-~ "We have a vehicle speeding down Mccafferty street containing stolen goods and a hostage. Perpetrators are armed and dangerous units please respond" ~-~-~BzzzZZttt~-~-~
The radio buzzed out as Anna clambered onto the back of Robostein, gripping onto his jacket tightly as he dropped off of the building, cracking the concrete of the valley below as he landed before taking off running. Anna's goggles were a whirr of screens, a circle bounced around her vision before finally settling on the corner of her vision, marking a waypoint for the two. "Robbie that way!" She pointed, the metal giant rapidly changing direction and sprinting as fast as he could.
A few minutes later and the two had arrived, hiding in an alley next to the street as a white van peeled around the corner being tailed by a police car. A masked gunman leaned his way out of the van's window, aiming an assault rifle down the road and opening fire at the police car, piercing one of the tires and sending the police car tumbling down the street.
In a flash Robostein leapt from the alley and in front of the van, bracing himself and holding his arms out to catch it. The robot was pushed back about an inch before his metal fingers dug themselves into the sides of the van and stopped it in its tracks, smoke billowing out from the engine as the men inside sat mouths agape.
They quickly got out raining bullets upon Robostein as the robot struggled to get his fingers out from the van when suddenly a bat flew out from a nearby trash can, knocking the aim off from one of the armed men who sprayed the rest of his magazine up the wall of a nearby building. Suddenly the bat transformed in the blink of an eye into a rather extravagantly dressed girl. Anna swung around the man's neck holding him in a choke with one arm while she fired off a bullet from her pistol at another gunman, the rubber bullet landing directly in the side of his head and knocking him unconscious. She jumped up, wrapping her legs around the back of the gunman and properly choking him out as Robostein's arms finally got free.
Anna rolled to her feet just in time for the remaining two gunmen to point their guns to her. A jolt of fear shot through Anna's veins and for a second she thought she was done for, until she heard the wrenching of metal. Robostein dived in front of Anna gripping the door to the van as it ricocheted bullets. He took slow heavy steps towards the gunmen before using the door to slap one of them across the face and then threw it at the other, knocking them both out.
Anna wiped a bead of sweat from her head, leaning on her robot companion. "Good job big guy, I was almost a goner there!" She sighed, her response being the low guttural groan of the robot. For a moment Anna forgot herself, before remembering the hostage in the back of the van. She went in, untied the hostage and let them loose just in time for the police to arrive. In all honesty Anna hadn't dealt with the police yet during her time as a hero. She was unsure if what she had just done was completely legal and even if it was if there was any paperwork that had to be filled out to do with it. Frankly she didn't want to find out, transforming into her bat form and fluttering off on top of a nearby building as her robot companion made off back to a safe spot.
She breathed a sigh of relief on the roof, transforming back to normal as she watched the police sort out the chaos below. She felt a hand on her shoulder as Arrowcaster got ready to invite another young hero to the team.
Powers: Abe is of both celestial and infernal heritage and has inherited powers from it. His celestial side gave him healing energies. By touching someone who is injured Abe can send forth energy from his body that can heal wounds, remove poisons and toxins, and help the wounded come back to a clear state of mind. From his infernal side he inherited the ability to shape shift, taking on the appearance of another person, including their clothes.
Skills: Abe is a skilled actor, being in theatrical productions since he was little. Because of this he can get into a role very fast, quickly picking up on the speech pattern and mannerisms of who he is impersonating. He has used these skills to infiltrate criminal organizations and get the information needed to take them down. He can also bullshit his way out of a lot of situations.
Weaknesses: There are several limitations to Abe’s powers. He must physically touch someone to heal them, the more severe the wound the more energy he must expend and the longer it takes to heal. He cannot reattach severed limbs or resurrect the dead. Abe can not use his healing powers on himself. With the shape shifting Abe can only shift into an appearance of similar height or weight as Abe. Also he has to have gotten a good look at someone’s face to replicate it properly, otherwise it comes off blurry and missing features. Use of either power tires Abe, who can actually fall ill if he expends too much healing energy. Besides his two powers, Abe is essentially human and can be wounded or killed in the same manner as other humans.
Day Job: Film student and part-time employee at a movie shop.
How did Arrowcaster find you?: Arrowcaster heard rumours of a shape shifter. While investigating it he discovered Abe and his undercover operation with a crime cartel.
BRIEF Bio: Abner was born to Heidi Willow, a young college student and soon to be single mother. He was told while growing up that his father was an older man that had a brief affair with Heidi, leaving the city before she learnt that she was pregnant. The young mother dropped out of college to care for Abner, working many shifts at various minimum wage workplaces. It was around the time that Abner was turning two that Heidi began seeing Deacon Shan, a friend of her family. Within a few months they got married, Heidi deciding to give Abner the Shan name as well. Deacon was a good father and supported Abner’s, or Abe as he began to be called, interest in the dramatic arts. He starred in various productions while in school, almost always getting the lead. Another major aspect of Abe’s life was movies, as he was a bit of a movie buff.
When Abe was ready to apply for college he shocked most who knew him because instead of pursuing acting he decided instead to go to film school. However that was all shaken up when he turned eighteen. As he was now an adult his secret heritage awoke in him. He became aware that his mother and biological father were playing host to a celestial being and an infernal being when he was conceived. This forbidden union produced a human with some of the power of both beings; the celestial healing and the infernal shape shifting. Abe decided to use his powers for good, figuring that he could be a hero.
How will your character be different one year later?: As Abe grows more into his powers he will be able to access more of his hybrid heritage. For the shape shifting that means a greater range of transformations, being able to play around more with height and build. The healing energy will increase, allowing him to heal faster and even make physical light barriers out of the energy. He will also have learnt more about the celestial and infernal beings whose power he shares.
Sample Post:
The still of the midnight air over the docks was disturbed violently by the sound of a Glock 19 firing repeatedly. Fleeing from the bursts of fury was Abe, though he was in the garb of the hero Paradox, his boots clattering against the ground, the wooden planks underneath him drooping from the force of his sprint. As he turned a corner past another empty stall, Abe cursed his one hiccup that had led to multiple men firing at him with the intent to kill.
For several weeks Abe had been posing as a new recruit in the Viper Cartel. Under a different face and an assumed name, Jack Hilton, Abe had positioned himself close to Mob Boss Angelo Gregor, all in an attempt to gather evidence of his crimes to anonymously hand over to the Mega City Police Department. That was all going fine and well until one of Angelo’s lieutenants had spotted Abe shape shifting near one of the cartel hangouts. Realizing he was a powered interloper, the lieutenant quickly alerted his associates. That was twenty minutes ago.
Abe swore profusely as his lungs burned from the near constant sprinting. He had been switching disguises every few minutes, but alas the mobsters were not thrown off the trail. It didn’t help that they were running around on the edge of the city at an ungodly hour of the night, meaning there weren’t a lot of people around.
Feeling completely maxed out, Abe ducked into a washroom connected to a burger stand. Abe dashed into the farthest stall and started to pray that he had lost the cartel members. After a few minutes Abe got up, having not heard anything in a while. He pressed his ear against the bathroom door, hoping that it was over. Instead, he heard the sirens of a police car. Apparently there were enough people in the area to have reported the gunfire. Abe shifted into the appearance of a homeless man as he opened the door, his hands up.
“Thank god officers,” Abe said with a slur, “These guys have just been shooting off.”
“OK sir, just stay there,” ordered one of the officers.
“Sure, sure, I’ll just sta- Oh shit!”
A bullet ripped through the officer’s shoulder, as two gangsters jumped out from a corner. He yelped as he fell down. The other officer whipped around only to get a fist to his face, blood gushing from his nose as he too collapsed. Abe immediately fell into flight or fight mode, charging the nearest gangster. Abe’s fist exploded toward the man, landing squarely in his throat. As he collapsed Abe turned to the other gangster, his other fist swinging at him.
The gang member raised his gun, only to be swatted by Abe. With a wild yell Abe raised his leg, striking the man in the reproductive organs. He too fell to the floor. With both assailants down Abe turned toward the wounded police officer. Crouching down, Abe placed his right hand on the man’s shoulder, golden energy spreading into it. As he did so the officer stopped groaning, his pain disappearing.
Once the wound fully healed Abe stood up and sighed. Then he heard the click off a gun with its safety off. Abe tensed up, as everything he ever wanted to do but hadn’t yet went through his mind. Eighteen years was not nearly enough for him.
The shot he had been anticipating finally went off as something whizzed past Abe’s head. A gasp of pain was audible as Abe heard the gun fall to the ground. Abe turned around to see an arrow lodged in the gangster’s hand. Seizing the opportunity, Abe let loose several savage punches, the final one smashing the gangster to the ground unconscious.
“That’s a mean right hook,” stated someone standing in shadow.
Abe turned to face him, fists at the ready.
“I’m not here to fight,” the man stepped into the streetlight, “Just to watch. The name’s Arrowcaster.”
It took a second but Abe realized who he was, “Oh man! You’re one of those old school heroes. A legend!”
Arrowcaster grinned, “I don’t know about old, but I’ll take the legend part.”
Abe shifted into his hero costume, “So how can I help you?”
Fair Hand-to-hand combatant. While expert martial artists could probably beat him on technique, he tends to hold his own in most brawls.
Advanced Memory. Not a superhuman trait, but Zane's ability to recall memories is considered impressive and has lead to bouts of depression when he find himself unable to forget a particularly traumatizing experience. It has also served him a great deal in his education as he find himself quick to learn just about anything and can recall that information with great detail.
Has a particular knack for playing cards, Texas Hold 'Em being his game of choice.
Very computer savvy. He is no hacker, but is well versed in modern technology.
Powers
The Gargoyle: In Zane's every day life, he is as vulnerable as any other person around him. His strength and abilities are also comparable to people of his size and build. His superhuman abilities spring forth when he engages his other form, The Gargoyle, which he can do at will and for an indefinite amount of time, for reasons he is not quite sure of. All subsequent powers will be exclusive to his gargoyle form. As The Gargoyle, Zane has batlike wings, sharpened claws, vampiric looking fangs, small horns that protrude from his skull, a prehensile tail, and loss of color in his skin, giving him a grey tone overall. His eyes also emanate an emerald hue in this form.
Durability: As if he were made out of stone, The Gargoyle is incredibly durable. While bullets bring pain, they are not an automatic death sentence. Shooting him is like shooting a grizzly bear. Send enough bullets and eventually he'll go down, but he's going to put up a fight. Fire does not particularly bother him in terms of physical pain.
Regeneration: If Zane sustains a significant injury and then changes to The Gargoyle, the healing process of that injury will have advanced greatly due to the biological transformation. Injuries sustained as The Gargoyle will heal faster than a human, but only by half as long.
Strength: The Gargoyle is extremely strong, able to flip over a vehicle with some extended effort. Able to lift a vehicle over his head with quite a bit more effort, capping his strength potential.
Flight: The Gargoyle is able to utilize his wings to execute flight. His wings operate similarly to a birds, so his speed in the air is proportionately accurate to his size. His wings are strong enough that he can carry someone of equal size while in flight, but that would be it before it becomes too heavy to get airborne.
Night Vision: The Gargoyle can see perfectly in the dark and has also gifted Zane with slight night vision.
Weaknesses
Bright Lights:Since The Gargoyle came into his life, Zane's eyes were changed, becoming quite advanced in the dark and more vulnerable in the light. Because of this, Zane is nearly always wearing sunglasses. The Gargoyle will also become stunned for a moment if he has to suffer sudden brightness.
Human Form When Zane is just Zane, he's as vulnerable to any human's weaknesses as the next person.
Naivety: Zane does not know where his powers come from, nor does he understand how they work. While he can adeptly utilize them, he's barely tapped his full potential.
Water: Zane has a phobia of water, even before The Gargoyle became a part of his life. Incidentally, The Gargoyle loses a lot of his combat proficiency when submerged, making him very vulnerable to attacks.
How did Arrowcaster find you?
Rumors of The Gargoyle hunting criminals at night have begun to circulate in the local criminal circles. Most of them don't believe, but they pass along the bizarre tales nonetheless. Once Arrowcaster heard the stories, he decided to investigate it for himself.
Lo and behold, when Arrowcaster followed criminals in Zane's town, he soon found The Gargoyle striking them down.
Biography
Character Bio
Zane has been a college student, nearing his graduation. While he went to school during the day, he became an assistant worker at a church cemetery at night, helping the groundskeeper maintain the property, set the tombstones and perform other labor intensive tasks.
One night, while on the job, he felt like he heard a voice coming from one of the mausoleums. There were no names on the structure, just decorative stone carvings and a lone gargoyle sitting at its roof's peak. Hesitantly, Zane went inside to check it out. As he entered, he saw what appeared to be a silhouette of something inhuman. Before he could react, the living shadow sprung forth and everything went black.
Zane woke up at the hospital, the groundskeeper having reported the incident. Once they gave him a clean bill of health and an explanation of dehydration that led to fainting, Zane went back to his apartment ready to dismiss the whole ordeal as just a silly tale to tell at parties. That's when the change first came upon him. Suddenly and violently, Zane transformed into The Gargoyle.
Over the past few months, he's been learning to control it and to use it for good. He's mastered triggering the switch and flying, but he is far from fluent in all of his abilities.
One Year Later
After a year's worth of experience and training, he'll eventually uncover the fact that he can manipulate stone, using this new ability in a variety of different ways such as a means for constructing weapons and armor.
Shrinking: Ruth is able to shrink herself down to the size of a Barbie doll, allowing for ease of access into cramped spaces. She's also conveniently carriable!
Enlargement: Ruth is able to enlarge herself. The largest form she can take is about fifty feet tall, with her proportions adjusting to remain normal. In this form, she has some enhancements.
Enhanced Durability: Ruth is able to take most forms of assault with ease while in her giant form. Smaller caliber bullets will sting her, and larger caliber bullets will do more serious damage. Explosive rounds from rocket launchers and the like will be able to burn her, and even take her down if the blast is large enough.
Pain Suppression: Ruth is easily able to grin and bear it, up until the point where she's taken down completely. She'll usually be seen taunting her opponent and carrying on until the moment she's defeated.
Body Strengthening: Ruth is able to harden her limbs, torso, and head, in order to take or deal more damage. The most common usage of this ability is her hardening her fist to deliver extremely strong punches.
Weaknesses
Cumbersome: While in her giant form, Ruth is extremely heavy and far from agile. Although she is able to perform difficult combat moves, they're easily avoidable which causes her to stick to grappling.
Gradual Shift: Ruth's initial size shift takes around thirty seconds to fully complete, whether she is becoming large or small. If she has to go to the other end of the spectrum (small to large, vice versa), she must gradually shift, which can take upwards of five minutes. If she attempts to adjust her size all at once, it can result in disproportionate body parts.
Fragile: In her Barbie doll form, Ruth's body is extremely fragile. Just like a Barbie, she can easily be broken. She's also unable to move very fast, due to her smaller strides.
Arrowcaster Discovery
She was discovered after rescuing herself from a mugger.
Biography
Biography
Ruth was born with her powers. In fact, after complications during her birth, she came out at only seven inches in length. The doctors ran their tests, failing to see how a seemingly healthy newborn could be the size of a five-month preemie. It was when she suddenly began growing to a normal length that they realized she was a metahuman. Throughout her childhood, she was unable to control her size shifts. It was during her teenage years that she began to gain some control over her body. Since then, she's been able to use her powers with ease...most of the time.
One Year Later
In a year, Ruth wishes to be an accomplished hero. She also wants to be able to fight against villains without using her size as an advantage.

Ruth hummed along to the pop song blaring in her ears, steps timed to the music. It was midnight, and she had just finished her shift at the diner. Her face was tilted skyward, appreciating the moonbeams that broke through the clouds. She knew her path so well at this point, that she didn't spare a glance at the sidewalk. It wasn't until she ran into a solid body that she looked down. She offered up an apologetic smile to the towering, middle-aged man in her path, ready to sidestep around him and carry on. Before she could do so, he pressed a hard metal object into her gut, his expression turning grim. "I just want your money, nothing else." He remarked, tone void of remorse.
Looking down, Ruth frowned at the knife poking her stomach. She took a hand, digging into her pocket and reaching for the tips she had earned that night. Taking them out, she waved them in the man's face. His eyes widened almost imperceptibly as if he were surprised that she had complied so quickly. When he went to reach for the tips, though, she quickly retracted them.
"Gotta be quicker than that!" She said with a giggle. A small sigh escaped her when, rather than playing along, the man's hand tightened around his weapon.
"Just...give me the goddamn cash before I stab you!" His grip tightened further, frustration and anger evident in his twisted features.
"I don't think I will." Ruth tilted her nose upwards out of spite, concentrating her powers into her torso. She could feel her skin tighten there, becoming thicker and more durable. When the man thrust his dagger into her gut, the metal pierced her clothing before bending harmlessly against her flesh.
He stared at her, a mixture of awe and horror on his face. Turning tail, he began to run off into the night. Ruth gave chase, and with every stride, she grew another foot until she was about fifteen feet tall. Her clothing tightened around her body, to the point where it was close to ripping with every movement. Using her increased arm length to her advantage, she reached out and grabbed the man by the back of the shirt, throwing him to the ground.
"I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to keep you here until the police can come and deal with you." She put a foot on his stomach, effectively pinning him. His eyes said it all, he was terrified. Reaching into her pocket, she attempted to dial the police with her enlarged digits.
"The police will be here soon enough, in the meantime, why don't we chat?"
Turning, Ruth's eyes widened at the man below her. It was Arrowcaster.
Appearance-Edward is a tall man, measuring about 6 feet tall, give or take about half an inch, with a fairly lean build, though he is by no means skinny. He has fair skin that some would say borders on pale, due to his less than outdoorsy lifestyle. His eyes are nearly steel gray in color. His nose is longer than normal and slightly hooked. He keeps his pitch black hair, both on top of his head, as well as his beard and mustache, short and neatly trimmed, though it still remains very thick and often unruly, resulting in a few cowlicks and tangles somewhere that he just can't get out.
Powers-Elemental Manipulation Edward is able to control/manipulate the four primal elements of nature (fire, water, earth, wind) Weaknesses-use of power requires the element to actually be present (though he can summon fire with enough ambient heat), earth power localized to within a radius of a few feet
Personality-VERY introverted, kind, loyal, strong sense of right and wrong, determined to see things through, severely lacking in social skills
Experience-a week-ish
Day Job-Runs a comic book/trading card/novelty shop part-time while pursuing a Business Management degree online
How did Arrowcaster find you?-Edward was heading home from work one day, manipulating the wind to speed him on his way. The way the wind was clearly moving differently around Edward clued Arrowcaster into the fact that Edward had powers.
BRIEF Bio-Edward was, and still is, a comic book nerd. From an early age he was fascinated by the stories of superheroes with amazing powers having fantastic adventures. He often dreamed of one day becoming like the superheroes he read about in his comic books. As a child he never had many friends, preferring to live vicariously through the droves of superheroes in his comic books to actually interacting with real people. At school, he hung out with the other comic book nerds during recess and lunch, but he never got close enough to any of them to truly consider them friends. His introverted personality left him severely lacking in social skills, though he often performed well on any tasks where he was allowed to work alone.
At the age of 16, Edward took a part-time job at a local comic book/trading card/novelty shop, which helped him to earn some money and allowed him to indulge in his nerdy habits at a special employee discount that was even better than his existing extreme loyalty discount. He kept at this job through graduation, taking longer hours and more responsibilities as he took business classes at a local community college. He eventually transferred to a four year university, but was able to pursue his Business Management degree through an online program, allowing him to continue to work at the comic book/trading card/novelty shop. He now basically runs the store on his own, but the owner still owns and runs the business officially and will continue to do so until Edward has completed his degree, at which point he will retire and hand the business over to Edward officially.
Edward's powers manifested slowly around his early to mid teen years. At first it was just making enough of a breeze to flip the page of his comic book or other things so small that he hardly even noticed them at first. As the years went by, he began to notice things like falling raindrops bending to fall past him rather than on him (though he was still rarely able to stay completely dry); or the wind turning away from him, particularly at times when it would otherwise be blowing dust directly into his eyes; and one time there was an earthquake, but the ground he was standing on miraculously stayed mostly still. As he realized that he was responsible for these things, he began to practice with them. He wasn't particularly interested in becoming a hero at the time, especially since he didn't understand the potential of this power for much beyond parlor tricks at the time. It wasn't until he was recruited by Arrowcaster that he began to consider the possibility of becoming a real superhero. Now he needs to figure out a cool superhero name and costume.
How will your character be different one year later?-More experience with his power will mean that Edward will be a more effective superhero, though he will retain the same limitations to his power. He will also have a staff that will allow him to better channel, control, and focus his power. He will also have decided on his superhero name and costume, but that may come fairly early.
Sample Post-(Arrowcaster recruiting your character) It was the end of the business day, and Edward had just finished locking up. He put his key into his pocket and turned toward home. The evening wind was stronger than normal, and blowing right into Edward's face. With a growl of irritation, Edward closed his eyes against the dust that was flying into his face and concentrated, turning the wind around him in the opposite direction, creating a tailwind for him that helped speed him on his way. He had only gone a few blocks when a voice came up behind him.
"That's a neat trick," the voice said, causing Edward to release his hold on the wind and turn to see the owner of the voice. "Is there anything else you can do?" the voice asked the bewildered and dumbfounded young man.
"Uhhh..." was all Edward managed to say. He recognized Arrowcaster from years ago, and had even seen some comics that had ripped off Arrowcaster and now used him in the famous "Defenders of Earth" series along with other heroes, most of whom had likewise been ripped off from local heroes (some people just had no imagination). He held his hand out and caused the moisture in the air to condense until he and Arrowcaster were enveloped in a thin fog. With a bit more concentration, the fog thickened until the moisture had condensed into a ball of water that now rested in Edward's outstretched hand. He dropped the ball of water and it hit the sidewalk with a splash. "I can do other things too, like make the earth move a bit, and sometimes I can burn stuff, but it's too cold to do that now," he said quietly, avoiding eye contact with Arrowcaster. He was unsure what this hero wanted with him, and his lack of social skills was not making matters any easier for him.
"Interesting," Arrowcaster replied. He then explained the initiative he was undertaking and invited Edward to join him.
Powers – - Trajectory Alteration: Skillshot can use his power to slightly change the trajectory of projectiles he throws/shoots. The faster the projectile goes and the smaller it is, the easier he can change it. He only can make slight alterations and as such can not completely stop or reverse a projectile's trajectory, nor can he change its speed or velocity.
-- (Undiscovered) Skillshot can passively sense projectiles nearby. The faster they go, the longer the range. This includes projectiles propelled by himself and anyone else. --- (Undiscovered) Skillshot can use his power on enemy projectiles as well. --- (Undiscovered) Skillshot can project his mind into that of the projectile he senses. This way for the short time the projectile has speed, he can see what the projectile sees and where it goes while being able to change its trajectory.
- Pretty Smart: Skillshot is a pretty smart guy. Although not directly a superpower, this helps him on a general basis in and outside the field.
-- Biology: Skillshot knows the general anatomy of almost all vertebrates, making him able to purposely hit or miss specific organs. -- Physics: Skillshot is an expert at Physics, in particular, but not limited to Geometry. He can easily bounce a bullet off objects to hit an otherwise unreachable target, and you DON'T want to play against him during pool when he is being serious. --- Projectile Interception: Predicting the trajectories of both his own and his target's projectiles, he can use his projectile to intercept the other, forcefully changing both trajectories. -- Programming: Skillshot is an above average programmer. He can hack through most standard firewalls and make his own applications on the go. --- Monday: A basic personal AI he made to guide him during his hours out on the field. Has a female voice and addresses him as 'Sir'.
- Weapon Expertise: Skillshot has experience with most standard weaponry like rifles and pistols.
Weaknesses – - His physiology is completely human. Besides his power to bend trajectories and his above-average intellect and physique, he can die by anything that kills a normal human. - Because of his focus on long-range combat, his melee skills are lacking. When enemies come too close, he will have a hard time dealing with them. - He isn't much of a team player. He prefers to do things his way and also on his own.
Personality – Precise, no-nonsense lone wolf Experience – 34 days Day Job – Software Developer
How did Arrowcaster find you?
Skillshot has been active for a bit over a month now. He predicted his next target, and 'ambushed' him.
BRIEF Bio – Samuel Scott was a smart guy with a bright future. He soon discovered that he could change the trajectory of balls he threw through baseball, and when in his free-time shooting on his uncle's farm, he noticed the bullets went almost exactly where he wanted every time. He didn't know where this power came from, but he didn't look much into it either. However, he couldn't stand what happened in the city around him. Corruption, theft and assault everywhere. Someone had to step up, especially with all those heroes disappearing. When he rescued a person from being robbed by taking the gun from the robber and shooting him in the knee, he knew what he had to do. He would pick up arms against the darkness of this city.
How will your character be different one year later?
His skills would be developed, as he learns about his currently undiscovered parts of his powers as well as growing to fill his weaknesses by for example learning melee combat.

It was night. Skillshot was looking over the buildings through his scope into the alleyway. A serial rapist was known to come through here on a regular basis. It looked like he was just in time too: The suspect was just assaulting a passerby. Skillshot groaned from behind his dust-yellow mask. Filth like this shouldn't be allowed to be alive. Then again, if he killed him, he would be even worse.
He lined up the crosshair of his hunting rifle. The girl was blocking the suspect's body, but that didn't matter. He aimed for a drain pipe on the alleyway's wall and took the shot. The bullet curved midair to countereffect the wind and hit the metal of the pipe, bouncing off straight through the suspect's right leg, making a clean flesh wound, before exiting the leg, just missing his private parts and repeating the process with his left leg.
The suspect let go of the woman and cried out in pain. Behind Skillshot's mask, Samuel smiled, tapping his earpiece. "Monday, send the call. We are done here." A robotic female voice answered. "Sending the anonymous police call right away, Sir. Also, it seems you have a visitor." With a shock, Skillshot stood up and turned around, letting go of his rifle and taking out his sidearm. In front of him stood green figure, bow aimed straight at him with an arrow drawn.
Once Skillshot aimed the gun, the figure let go of the string, and as if feeling something telling him something was coming, he took the shot straight at the arrow, hitting the tip and bouncing it off straight at the floor. The figure seemed about to draw another arrow, but Skillshot didn't fire. "Interesting... It's just like I expected." The figure said. Skillshot had already recognised the figure as the old hero Arrowcaster. "Not bad for an old man. So why are you coming after me of all people?"
The green former hero lowered his arm. "I'm sorry for that shot. My aim was to disarm you so you wouldn't do anything rash but to shoot an arrow out of the air is no small feed. I am here because I wanted to see you in action, and because I want to ask you to be a part of my team." Skillshot shrugged. "A team? No thanks. I rather work alone." He said before lowering his gun and holstering it, before proceeding to pack his hunting rifle before the cops arrived.
Arrowcaster was a bit taken back by this response, but he expected this. "Well, I can't force you. Just know that if you change your mind, come to this address. Also, a piece of advice: If you go on like this, you will soon be the one lying in the hospital, if not worse. I just want to train you to make sure that doesn't happen..." Skillshot turned around. "What do you mean, train-" He looked around to see the archery hero was already gone. "... Weird guy. I wonder what he meant with address..." His earpiece went off. "Sir, you have a message from an R. Rowcaster. Do you want me to read it for you?" Skillshot sighed. That's one way to do it, he supposes...
Appearance 🔮 Milly is of average build for a boy his age, weighing in at one-hundred and five pounds. 🔮 He stands at an average five feet three inches, a little taller than his brother. 🔮 He has black hair and dark blue eyes. 🔮 He often appears a lot more cheerful than his brother, and tends to look a little more approachable. 🔮 Because his powers don’t involve excessive physical fighting, he lacks any muscle mass that would be considered above average.
🔮 Milly prefers to wear loose fitting t-shirts, darker colored skinny jeans and converse. His shoes are purple and black. 🔮 Sometimes he'll sport around a bright colored beanie, usually purple or yellow. 🔮 Other times Miles keeps his hair a little shaggy. Brushed but not perfect. 🔮 He wears a purple ring on his left thumb. He found the ring during a rather rough night he and Neoh had experienced while out as vigilantes, and wears it just for a fashion sense. But also because purple is his favorite color.
🔮 Forcefield Projection 🔮 Miles can project forcefields to use as shields, to throw them at object or person, or to use as an obstacle against others.
Strengths 🔮 Miles can create forcefields around himself or others to use as shields. 🔮 He can create these forcefields around items within close vicinity to him. 🔮 His forcefields can last for as long as he is able to concentrate on them. 🔮 Miles can create forcefields as both a barrier and to aid him in attacking, such as creating a large one in front of him as a shield and charging an opponent, bashing them with it. 🔮 He can use these forcefields as small discs and throw them at objects and people. 🔮 Brief explosions, fire, or using his shields to break a fall are things Milly has no problem defending against.
Weaknesses/Limitations 🔮 Miles can only create a forcefield in the shape of discs or spheres. 🔮 His largest forcefields are only a couple feet taller than him, with equal diameter to height. 🔮 If Miles is put under extreme pressure or stress, he cannot keep the forcefield up. 🔮 While exceedingly sturdy, if very heavy blunt force is applied to Milly's force field, he can be slammed against the side and injured. 🔮 Creating a forcefield and holding it for long against continuous blunt force, such as bullets or other heavy assault, can sap his physical energy. 🔮 Once Miles’ physical energy is completely tapped, it can take a long time to use his powers again if he doesn’t get proper rest. 🔮 If not in the right state of mind, such as stress, anxiety, anger, Miles forcefields can become unstable, and he has the possibility to lose control of them. 🔮 To some people, Miles can be very trusting. He's not stupid about who he gives his trust to and usually doesn't open up to strangers at first, but take enough time and show Miles enough compassion, and he'll start to trust.
🔮 Miles has his bad days, but all in all is the average happy teenager. His bad days do make him moody though. 🔮 Miles hates bullies, thus he tries to stick up for those who have a hard time defending themselves. 🔮 He can be somewhat of a trickster sometimes, using his projected forcefields to prevent his brother from being able to grab something momentarily, or using them in some other tricky fashion.
Notable Relations 🔮 The person Miles values over anyone else in the world is his twin brother, Neoh.
Everyday Skills 🔮 Like his brother, he also enjoys drawing as pastime, but he is not nearly as good as Neoh. 🔮 He often hums his favorite tunes to himself, his favorite song genre being modern rock. 🔮 He can often be caught staring out the nearest window, enjoying the scenery or daydreaming about travelling or exploring. 🔮 Miles loves learning about plants, animals, and just nature in general. 🔮 If he’s not with Neoh, he’s usually outside exploring the gardens outside the Academy. 🔮 Because his forcefields can be used in the form of small discs, he is very good at playing frisbee. 🔮 Milly is very good about remaining in the shadows, staying hidden until it's the right time. 🔮 He prefers to not be known unless it's necessary.
Experience 🔮 Almost a year.
Day Job 🔮 Student
How did Arrowcaster find you? 🔮 Milly had joined Neoh in attempting to thwart a museum robbery. 🔮 He was there to cover Neoh's back, as he would never let Neoh fight alone.
Brief Bio 🔮 Milly grew up the twin brother of Neoh, as one of the sons of an established and esteemed fashion designer. 🔮 Milly has always comfortably walked in the shadow of his brother, usually being known as the quiet one; the twin brother not many people know a lot about. 🔮 He prefers reading and writing, drawing and sketching. 🔮 Milly can usually be caught humming tunes to himself, from genres of Modern Rock to Country and Indie. 🔮 He can often be caught staring out the nearest window, enjoying the scenery or daydreaming about travelling or exploring. 🔮 The boy isn't very fond of either of his parents. 🔮 Their mother seems to never be around, and their father left when they were young. 🔮 Milly had been against "playing hero" in the beginning, but after much convincing he decided to tag along with Neoh in the hero life. 🔮 After much trial and error, he and his brother both learned how to fight together, and realized their powers compliment each other. 🔮 Milly always errs on the side of caution, and is constantly trying to keep an eye out for Neoh, even if he does seem too overprotective sometimes. 🔮 After he and Neoh turned 17, Milly grew a little more comfortable with the role of a vigilante.
How will your character be different one year later? 🔮 Milly plans to stick by Neoh's side no matter what happens. 🔮 He plans to be stronger, both in mind and in body. 🔮 He wishes to be strong enough to protect Neoh, so that he never has to worry, as he's always worried about his brother on and off the streets.

🔮 Milly rolled his eyes, a small smile on his face as he sat silently and watched his brother. Neoh never was one for subtlety, even after a year of vigilante work. The alleyway was dark, which allowed Miles the perfect cover to watch over the fight, to see any blind spots Neoh might have had, to catch surprises or ambushes that were otherwise not accounted for.
Gunshots rang out and Miles flinched. Neoh had blocked them just in time with his spectral spear. Just in time, nothing more, nothing less.
"You could intervene before they shoot, y'know." Milly whispered to himself.
Everything happened quickly, as it usually did. Miles kept watch, preferring to intervene when it was necessary. Any outside threats watching the fight would be paying attention to his brother. Should someone intervene, Milly would be an advantage for Neoh that the enemy hadn't accounted for. He watched as his brother pinned the bandits to the wall. Milly was constantly surprised at how precise Neoh constantly was with his spectral weapons. In the end it was a good thing, for they always preferred to avoid killing.
Miles began scanning the area around them, up and down the alley, the rooftops, everywhere. So when he heard an unfamiliar voice, in the vicinity of his brother, his head snapped and Milly began to move from his perch to protect his brother. This voice, this person, this threat... where did it come from? Milly did not let much past his watch, yet this threat was suddenly just there.
"Impressive." It said.
He moved to jump from his perch, to get to Neoh quickly, but the figure suddenly held up a hand and looked in Miles direction.
