Appearance
Max is a sinewy young man, with a stocky, athletic build from years of swimming and athletic pursuits. He has a broad-shouldered V-shape build that men pursue, and is physically in good shape. His hair, a natural brunette, is dyed blue, Max’s favorite color. Max has fair skin, the type that requires significant amounts of sunscreen to stay healthy, and he does not tan at all. His eyes are a crimson shade of red, a unique condition in the Lachlan family.
Max prefers to wear mostly casual clothes in most situations, with a t-shirt and khakis making do for summer months, with a jacket, sweatpants, or jeans thrown into the mix depending on the weather. He stands at 5’11”, an above-average respectable height for most, though Max wishes he could be taller due to his athletic expertise.
Personality
The word that describes Max’s personality best is moody. Though he’d never admit it out loud, Max is an incredibly mercurial, temperamental person, and he can swing from a good mood to a very bad mood very quickly depending on the circumstances and outside factors. This volatile behavior is something that Max has recognized about himself, but mentioning it to him only causes him to get annoyed.
While in a good mood, Max is a great friend, a carefree, fun-loving guy that is both sociable and friendly. He enjoys meeting new people, talking to his friends, and is compassionate and kind, a person who is always there to help. When he’s not angry, he’s quite cooperative and a team player, and he goes into new situations with a lack of fear and an air of nonchalance about him. Most people would agree that most of the time, Max is a fun person to hang around with.
Max’s shortcomings comes with his temper, which is very limited. Max can go from jovial and carefree to furious quickly, and his fury is not something that is welcomed in most places. While angry, Max is destructive and will openly release his anger on anybody and anything in sight. He is very difficult to deal with and quarrelsome when in a bad mood. This lack of restraint and irritable status is easily Max’s greatest weakness and Max’s greatest focus of self-improvement.
As an athlete, Max is competitive, striving to always better himself and improve his skills, though not to the point of being antagonistic or combative. He is naturally ambitious, with a certain drive to him that’s almost inspiring.

Brief Bio
Max was born in a small suburban town on the California shore to James Lachlan and Mary Lachlan-Peters. The two were doting parents, but Mary was often away for long stretches of time, due to her occupation as an ESL teacher in Europe. As such, Max and his younger brother, Dylan, were raised primarily by their father, James Lachlan. James was a successful boat salesman, but his real passion laid not in selling boats, but in using them. An avid fisherman, James often took his two young sons out on the water, teaching them about fishing and boats and all things related to the ocean. Both of them grew to become very much fond of the water and aquatics in general.
This reflected in their lifestyle choices- Max, athletic even from an early age, ended up getting invested in competitive swimming, spending hours upon hours of his day on practicing, while Dylan, always more technical, constantly tinkered with boats. James supported their hobbies significantly, and when he passed after a battle with colon cancer when Max was 14 and Dylan 12, it inspired the two brothers to work even harder in memory of their late father.
Max in particular went from being a good swimmer in-water to being a top-rated national athlete, and already had several schools offering to give him a full ride for his athletic endeavors. It looked like that was the route that he was going to go, when one night, Max had a peculiar dream of Poseidon, the Greek god of seas, asking Max to become his Communicator to fight against the veiled threats of the Earth. This was certainly a strange request, but after some deep thought, Max decided to go for it.
After all, how many people got to save the world, at any rate?
Reason For Choice
Max’s volatility between joy and anger resembles Poseidon’s own, as Poseidon was well-known for being both a tremendous, brave Olympian and a destructive curse to many cities in Ancient Greece. Max also had a connection to the water that Poseidon admires, being a water god and all. Most importantly, though, is the ambition and deep-seeded motivation that Max has, which Poseidon also seeks in a Communicator. Poseidon sought to have cities name him their sponsor deity and was also an ambitious (if destructive) seeker of greatness. Lastly, even if Max has his faults, he’s still a good person at heart, a vital part of a Communicator that Poseidon looked for.
Abilities
Weapon
Poseidon bestowed upon Max his trident, a weapon forged by the Cyclops to defeat the Titans. A long, three-pronged spear invented for fishing, the trident is exceptionally powerful and strong, and can channel Max’s powers.
Powers
I. Hydrokinesis
Max has gained advanced hydrokinesis from Poseidon. Max is able to create water at his fingertips and manipulate it to his desire, offensively and defensively, turning the water into constructs to fight or shield with. Max’s real power with this, though, comes from when he is near water, which he can manipulate fluently to flood and crush opponents with tidal waves. As of now, though, Max is only able to manipulate small amounts of water at a time.
II. Sea Creature Affinity
Much like Aquaman, Max is able to communicate with, and control, sea creatures. He is able to command them telepathically and convince them to do his bidding. This is quite embarrassing to Max, as he regards this bestowed power as lame, but it has made him very good at fishing.
III. Earthshaker
More of a trump card than anything else, Max’s final granted powers releases the raw strength and anger of Poseidon into a powerful slam using his trident (though Max’s fist will do.) This ability causes the creation of a massive earthquake and heavy winds, with the power depending on Max’s imbued anger and the situation at hand. At its strongest, this ability can destroy entire buildings and level whole areas, though the amount of energy required to do so- and the danger it poses to human life- makes it inefficient as anything other than an ace in the hole.
