You are still welcome to post them up without the last addition. It's not related to the Charceter and more to the players and how best to tone the RP and adapt it to those who joined.
It should only take you a minute or two once we launch the OOC to add the final part to the CS.
Occupation π± Sushi Chef, Trainee. π± Works at his father's restaurant. π± Culinary student.
Sexuality π± Homosexual.
Relationship Status π± Single.
Zodiac Sign π± Leo.
Height π± 5'4".
Weight π± 60lbs.
Personality π± Layne is quite the sweet boy. π± Others would consider him kindhearted. π± He is most certainly relaxed. π± In tandem with this, Layne is notably laid back. π± He is, however, adequately withdrawn. π± This has naturally led to him growing reserved. π± Despite his quiet and introverted personality, Layne is very fun-loving. π± Another positive feature to check off, would be his patience. π± Additionally, Layne is very cuddly, especially with animals. π± Equally so, those who know this boy would use the word affectionate to describe him. π± Though, he is quite shy, which would be foolish to dismiss. π± Due to this, he is somewhat anxious.
π± If anyone has seen him cook or draw, they'd know that Layne is incredibly stubborn. π± Layne blames corny chick flix, but he is a hopeless romantic. π± Quite the dreamer, indeed. π± A feature Layne would admit is his greatest strength is his impressive creativity. π± This clearly dips into being expressive, (in his food and drawings). π± With all of this in mind, Layne appears somewhat boring on the surface. π± While he has very few friends, they can attest to the fact that Layne is incredibly loyal.
π± Willing to see an issue from various perspectives, he is indeed rather broad-minded. π± Layne attempts to be objective, as often as possible. π± He avoids judging others. π± He does, however, judge himself a tad too harshly. π± Like a cat, Layne is incredibly curious. π± He is very eager to learn, especially from his elders. π± At times, Layne can be rather bad at maintaining contact with others due to his reserved nature. π± However, when confronted on the issue, he always apologizes for the transgression.
Appearance π± Layne is rather tiny. π± Though eighteen years old, Layne is prompted to present his ID card wherever he goes. π± It is understandable, considering a very youthful appearance. π± Starting from the top, Layne has a thick mop of messy black hair on his head. π± He maintains a rather unblemished face some would consider handsome, but most would consider cute. π± Of course, his 'resting bitch face' might take a few points off. π± If one was to see Layne without clothes, his body would reveal a scrawny shape, indeed. π± He has no muscles to speak of, whatsoever. π± Layne's skin is, due to his Hispanic origin, bronze colored and tanned. π± If one was to take his shirt off, Layne's ribs would be clearly visible, and a keen eye would be able to count each individual rib. π± This is generally not considered attractive.
π± Each of Layne's digits is slender and could be considered dainty. π± Speaking of dainty, Layne appears rather androgynous and is sometimes mistaken for a girl. π± Considering his occupation as a chef, Layne has no polish on his nails but maintains them and keeps them short. π± If one was to touch his hands, softness would be the first thing that comes to mind. π± They would also reveal a distinct lack of manual labor.
π± His voice, much like his body, is quite androgynous and it can be difficult to place his gender. π± He speaks quietly and is often asked to repeat himself. π± Having grown up speaking two languages daily, Layne has no distinct accent. π± Some people might consider Layne's voice somewhat melodic, but it is nothing he'd be willing to confirm.
π± Layne tends to wear vanilla scented perfume. π± Outside of work, Layne enjoys expressing himself in clothing. π± On warmer days, he is often seen in a pair of cargo pants, a long vest, and a tank top. π± It is common to see a series of bracelets on his forearms, all of which are brown, black, and beige. π± Working in tandem with his olive skin, Layne tends towards dark green, black, and brown. π± His choice of footwear is exclusively ankle-high converse shoes, black with white tips. π± On colder days, Layne wears thin, long-sleeved shirts beneath his vests, but retains his fashion choice. π± Sweaters make themselves known when Layne feels lazy.
π± At work, Layne wears a black chef's coat, which swallows his small body. π± The coat has red accents, and buttons, with 'Shinagi Sushi' stitched onto the chest with red thread. π± To prevent his hair from intruding, Layne hides it beneath a black chef's cap.
Biography π± Layne is the second son, and first adopted child, of the Shinagi household. π± Throughout his life, Layne had known an ordinary, common upbringing. π± His love for food made itself clear quite early, in the same way that it does for most. π± Layne helped his father cook since a young age, and maintained that his love for cooking stretched further than simply lunch and dinner. π± After graduating high school, Layne immediately applied to culinary school.
π± In regards to his family, Layne has always gotten along with his siblings, but it would be a lie to claim that he constantly felt like a part of the group. π± Layne is Hispanic by blood, which is clearly visible, especially in comparison to his blatantly Japanese family. π± Though he has never been treated differently, one could perhaps understand the boy's subconscious thoughts.
π± Where he has been told on numerous occasions that family in no way equals blood relations, Layne has always struggled with a sense of belonging. π± This was especially elevated when his younger brother was born, twelve years ago. π± Despite the uncertainty running through Layne, he has always attempted to keep these thoughts at bay. π± The only people who have in fact commented on his heritage are a select few, who criticize Layne's Japanese cooking, calling it 'fake', due to his lack of Asian features. π± Ken would, however, be quick to point out that Layne is his son, and has been, for seventeen years. π± Layne was adopted soon after his first birthday.
π± Economically, Layne and his family have never struggled for money. π± With Ken's incredible success as a chef, enough so to be seen on the household screen, the Shinagi name is rather well known within the culinary world. π± Due to this, Layne's position in a most prestigious culinary school was set in stone from the very start.
π± Today, Layne often maintains the family restaurant by himself, because of how busy his father is with television appearances. π± Luckily, the restaurant is incredibly small, and most of the food is ordered to go. π± Due to this, Layne has been able to maintain the business on his own. π± Currently, Layne is looking for an apartment, where he can move out.
Education π± High School, (graduated). π± Culinary School, (attending).

Favorite Song π± This varies drastically. π± Layne generally prefers music from the 70s to the 90s, however.
Habits π± It is highly uncommon to see Layne without a pair of headphones on. π± Unable to sit still without something between his fingers for very long, Layne has a selection of fidget spinners at hand. π± Layne always has a shoulder bag with him, which contains sketchbooks, pen cases, and notebooks.
Fears π± Major arachnephobia. π± Mild claustrophobia. π± Layne is very uncomfortable in the presence of drunk people.
Talents π± Excellent chef, with a focus on Sushi. π± Wonderful artist. π± Good with animals.

Extra Information π° Layne came out to his family when he was seventeen. π° He has been in one relationship. π° On his eighteenth birthday, it came out that Layne's boyfriend was cheating on him, with a girl. π° Layne has avoided the thought of relationships since.

To be clear, if you would like to post a wip here, that's fine, but you will just have to post it again when we open the OOC in a couple days. There's not going to be any sheets reviewed here in an interest check thread, but if you all want to get a small preview of each other's characters, i don't have an issue.
Expect the launch of the official thread to be staggered. We"ll do OOC first, take care of the first approvals and then open the IC.
I guess I'll let people see Manami then, just so I can show off all my hardwork lol
Manami Takahashi Instagram Name; BobaQueen
Twenty-four
Much like her mother, Manami has very dark hair that hangs a little past her shoulders. She wears it in all kinds of styles though prefers it down, she hates taking the time to make it look fancy. Naturally Manami's eyes are grey though depending on what she's wearing they can appear a light shade of violet or a light pink - though this could also be caused by the contacts she wears. Her wardrobe changes everyday, while she only wants to parade the house in a t-shirt and jeans she always buy the latest fashions, she often will only wears clothes once in order to make sure people see them in her photo's. Instead of throwing that clothing out though she will either offer it to the people close to her or donate it to woman shelters or thrift shops in her area. Her skin is quite pale, though that seems to just attract people and make her "Asianess" stand out more. Manami has a strict face-care routine that she sticks to in order to keep her face so clear.
Five feet, four inches
135 Pounds
β₯ Reading mystery/thriller books β₯ Playing her favorite video game series; Final Fantasy β₯ Sushi, specifically any that is fried β₯ Coffee with lots of cream and sugar β₯ Music that isn't mainstream and isn't played on the radio a million times β₯ Sloths
β₯ Pretending to be someone she's not β₯ Dressing up in frilly outfits β₯ Heels β₯ The feeling of a face full of make-up β₯ Bitter or sour foods β₯ Naked cats
Ironically Manami seems to be a natural at photography, which is probably why her Instagram is so well liked. Though she is also quite good at editing the photo's she takes, she has taken a lot of time to teach herself how to use programs such as Photoshop and other editing software.
Manami is an Instagram model, a well known one at that. She make enough money to sustain herself comfortably. On top of that she models for several companies. Though before that she wanted to be a graphic designer, part of her still wants that. She wants to make advertisements and logos that will draw people to a business or place, creations that will cause people to talk about her talent and not her looks.
To the world/Social Media; Manami is a very confident girl, she's not afraid to show off what she has, though she's humble about it. While she may seem stuck-up like many Instagram models Manami is a very down-to-earth kind of person, she always seems to offer the best advice on both life and fashion. She somehow is able to keep herself out of the drama that comes with being popular on social media and chooses not to comment on the drama that is going on. Even in her other en-devours Manami oozes that same confidence, this causes her to get quite a lot of offers for magazines and small commercials. In Reality; When not taking pictures or in front of a camera Manami is very self-conscious, she constantly feels like she can't live up to the expectations her parents have of her. Unlike the personality she shows for the camera she is quiet and prefer to keep to herself. Instead of going out partying she stay's home and watches her favorite shows, reads her favorite books or plays her favorite video games. She feels like she can't be herself unless she is in the comfort of her own home or around her close friends, and there aren't very many of those. The stress her parents put on her doesn't help with this at all.
In general Manami has to act two different ways, happy and confident for those who are paying attention to her and then her true self when she's not in the spotlight. This puts a lot of stress on her and it's becoming increasingly more difficult to continue with the charade, she finds herself exhausted and out of energy all the time. She doesn't tell her family or friends this, instead she puts on a smile and acts like everything is all fine and dandy. She constantly worries that she'll break at some point, or that she'll slip up somewhere and the fake she created will come tumbling down.
Manami was born in Osaka, Japan to Haru Takahashi and Akemi Takahashi. The family didn't stay in Japan for very long and moved to SOL city in America, they wanted a better life than the one they had. They thought moving to America would allow their daughter to live happily. From a young age it was obvious that Manami was a looker, people constantly siad "what a pretty baby" or "Why is your toddler prettier than me?" Her parents saw this and looked into possibly getting Manami in modelling, it didn't take long for her to be plastered all over children's ads for various things. At first her parents used the money to pay for bills and put the rest in a fund for her, but just like many people the temptation became too great and they got greedy. Soon what started out as something simple turned into something more ugly.
Manami was groomed and raised to look beautiful and to act as fake as she can while in front of a camera. Her parents drilled into her that she needed to act and be a certain way over and over into her head until she felt like she wasn't herself anymore. Manami wasn't able to go to school like a normal child, instead her mother home schooled her while she slowly built her modelling career. They were so hung up on the money and career she had at such a young age that they bragged to everyone, saying how proud they were to have such a daughter. This built of the fear she had of disappointing them and Manami began to hide how she really was.
When she turned nineteen and got her highschool degree Manami had enough money to live on her own, so that's what she did. Living with her parents made her constantly stressed and while they protested her living on her own they couldn't stop her either. Once by herself Manami felt like she could be herself for a little bit, though she still felt like she had to maintain the lifestyle she had built. Instagram, the modelling all the exposure. In order to keep herself looking slim she had to stick to diets and workouts that she hated. She had to keep a strict skin-care routine that took up way too much time, spent money on clothes that she didn't even want to wear.
Manami want's to stop but she's afraid of her parents reaction, that they are so obsessed with the money she gives them that they would abandon her. She already has little to no real friends and doesn't think she could handle that sort of loss. She also doesn't know what her fans would do either, they could completely bash her and start stuff that could potentially ruin protective careers for her. She'll break eventually, and it won't be good. In order to keep some sort of sanity Manami plays games such as DnD and Final Fantasy in order to escape the life she's living, to be someone else entirely. Someone she wishes she could be.
Might be interested in this; a nice SoL RP can be fun now and then. Does the plot lean more toward player-driven or GM-driven story?
Without giving too much away, the system we have come up with (and this just happened organically btw, we never planned it), is that we actually have TWO plots running all the time. One is almost completely character-driven while the other is probably about 50-60% GM.

Ah neat; so literally both! Thanks. I'll have to check it out when you get that OOC up.
Please post all CS sheets to the ooc for review before posting to CS.
Read the OOC to check rules and the last add on to your CS, there have been some changes so even if in Chapter 1/2 it's a good idea to get the latest version.
IC will open in a few days once players have had chance to get the first sheets in and start roughly about the same time.
Any questions ask via OOC or PM. No matter how small or large, we Don, t mind.
I am looking into this, is there restriction on what proefessions your characters can take? or develop? I am having to read up abit to get a feel for what is going on here :)
