"Now you listen here, bub," Klank demanded. He didn't like the idea of a man he barely knew claiming the ship as his own. "You wanna be Captain of this crew? Good, cause we need one. You wanna be the one to choose this ships path? Fine! you won't get arguments from us." Klank produced a cigarette out of thin air and lit it before it hit his lip. A long drag ensued. He walked up to Bighead, hands on his hips, and said, "You wanna call this ship yours? Fuck that. I designed this beauty. I built it, and I alone am the one who steers it." It was then that he shot a piercing look at Isaac. "That goes for you as well. Don't think for a second," He finished the smoke and lit another, pausing mid sentence. "That I believe your weak excuse. Are you even trying to hide it?" He put it aside to readdress the newcomer.

The man stood there in his pose, just smiling. "I'll even hand carve you a masterpiece of a figure head, design you a symbol for MY Flag and MY sails. But this area right here," he pointed to the helm. "And everything it controls... is mine." Klank took a long breath after a violent puff, and exhaled. "Can you deal with that?"

"Sure, Little Guy," Bighead said while patting him on the back. "I recognize a dream when I see one. Like I said, a ninth sense about these things." He immediately walked over to the helm and rested his hulking hand on the large wooden wheel. He dwarfed it. "Now," He said looking to each of the crew once again. "What are the rest of your dreams?"

Klank couldn't believe the audacity. "That's my line," he thought to himself.

“I’ll touch that wheel again,” Isaac thought to himself as Klank went on a rant. If he didn’t know any better, he would have assumed it was his thing. Sasayaki agreed mockingly humming to Klank’s protest in his ear. Still, he had a point. Did he care if he was caught? Isaac had never stuck around a place long enough to find out what sort of consequences repeat offences offered.

“Our dream?” Sasayaki almost answered, resting down on his shoulder when he placed his hand on her lantern.

Isaac stepped back to the railing, trying to emulate to emulate a sense of mystery with a loose lean, “Ohhh you know, adventure.” He never really knew what that meant, only that he had to keep going, because there was something out there he was looking for, something he hadn’t found yet. “As long and Sasayaki and I can see the world together, and have some fun doing it, we’ll pretty much go anywhere.”

Siera was stood there ready for a fight, it when klank took over she stood there with excitement waiting for klank to make his move.

“Holy crap this ship has harpoon cannons!” Siera said as she stood there shocked as the harpoons bounced off of the sea kings scales. She was even more surprised to see a man riding on it but also excited since he seemed friendly and peanut has been dying for a new friend. Although I doubt a sealing would want to be friends with such a tiny annoying little guy. He would have driven him to insanity.

She was surprised at how big the man was when he landed on the deck of the ship. He was huge compared to her and she normally does come across people that big it was almost intimidating.

Isaac started to blame everything on peanut and before she knew it the little guy leaped off of her shoulder towards him ready to attack. Siera just barely grabbed him in time with both of her hands wrapped around his body as he struggles to get free. She held on to him as he was punching the air and making weird gestures towards Isaac like he was going to get him back for what he had said.

The big head man had asked what everyone’s dream was and it was at that moment that Siera just stood there quietly. She didn’t really have a dream all she wanted in life was to fight and become stronger. The harder the fight the better she thought.

“ Dream? I don’t even know these guys I’m just here by chance but I guess I just want to explore the world and be the strongest fighter in it and nothing will get in the way of my dream”

"I'm gonna swim all the seas," Phin said when Bighead looked at him. He was still rubbing the numerous bumps on his head.

"A bunch of adventurous dreams aboard this fine vessel," the imposing man noted. "It'll be a fine crew to head, if I do say so myself. Been a long while since I was a captain, but like riding a bike, right." Something had caught his attention, but he didn't let on. He simply walked to the back of the ship while he continued speaking. His pet Sea King, Blade, Slowly came out of the water, noticing the same thing his master did. The beast remained quiet. "With me at the helm of this ship," he caught himself as Klank shot out an objection and chuckled. "With me as the Captain of this ship," he said as he flicked off his long black coat. "I will make your dreams come true, for that is now my dream." It had been a while since Bighead followed a dream. He had seen many things, fought many enemies, and achieved many goals. He couldn't help feeling that this new crew might offer new adventures.

"And how do you plan on..." Klank was cut short when Captain Bighead raised a finger demanding silence.

All of a sudden, the man grew to double the size as before, wood bending beneath his weight. Klank took notice to the creaking sound. Bighead leaped into the air. That's when the shipwright caught sight of black dots flying through the air and growing as they did. Cannonballs were on a precise path to the ship. The new Captain, in the air and spinning, forced his fist to the size of his already large body. It was an awkward scene to behold, but the crew watched on. A large explosion sounded off when Bighead punched the first cannonball. Another punch, another explosion. And again. Three black dots were now fading into the distance. The next two hunks of metal that approached were almost directly next to each other. With one swoop, they were caught, and Bighead landed on deck. He juggled the two balls in the one hand, looking like marbles in comparison.

"I've sailed many seas and been to more places than I can count," he said, answering Klank question. "I am learned in more martial arts than people you could ever fit on this ship." He turned around with the balls, still juggling. As he wound up, he caught them once again, and launched them with a fraction of his true strength. In only a few moments, they couldn't be seen any longer. And just as they had faded, a feint sound was heard, followed by a puff of smoke where they landed on the horizon. "BULLSEYE!" he yelled as he pumped his oversized fist. "And I'm a great shot."

Klank crossed his arms, convinced that Bighead might just be the best Captain for the ship. He smirked at the cloud of smoke that he could barely see. He knew it was the Jubil Pirates, and with this new Captain, they would have a much tougher time. Klank turned to face the wheel of the helm and said "You'll get no objections from me. I've stated my one condition." He stroked the smooth, wooden ring.

"Indeed you have, Shipwright."

"It's Klank."

"Indeed!," Bighead joked. "Now for my end of that condition." He posed. "My figurehead. I want the body of blade, scales perfectly chiseled to match Blades, jutting out from the ship, but the head," he said as he grew his head and put on face. He looked like a bobble head. His face resembled that of a comic book hero, with a confident expression and one brow raised. He finished with "Will look like this."

Klank turned to look at what the Captain wanted, and he somehow wasn't surprised. It would be a rather simple figure head to craft, he thought. He wasn't sure what message he was trying to get across, though. It definitely wasn't along the lines of fear.

"And the flag design?" Klank questioned.

"A skull," Bighead said as he approached Peanut with calm excitement. "With this little guy on top of the head, haha. I would also like you to put some kind of symbolism for each member of the crew. It will be a grand."

"Gods be damned, that's gonna be a big flag." Klank fussed.

"That's the point, my boy."

Klank snickered at the name. He put himself at ease, though, ahppy that the crew was growing and finally somewhat established as far as he could tell. He looked ahead, Blade blocking the way forward. His eyes squinted as he made eye contact. He shot his thumb up and to the left, demanding the Sea King move out of the way. Klank didn't notice Bighead mimicking the move. As soon as the beast was clear, Klank set the ship in motion, putting more distance between them and the Jubil Pirates, who had unknowingly met the new captain.

"Where to, Captain? Klank asked, the words feeling natural.

Arcadia

Mist filled the stage as lights went up, stroking to the crowd with a maddening pace that could only match the hype of the beat. Already the crowd was on their feet, feeling the energy of a Sasayaki’s voice and Isaac’s unmistakable talent for rousing the crowd like the head cheerleader at a peep rally. More lights flooded the stage, revealing Klank with an edgy reluctance on a set of massive drums that encircled him, two hammers pounding to beat into a live system, scratched and altered by an energetic Peanut, bouncing between the discs and sound board with a large porcelain mousehead covering him, and the occasional flame hitting the skies with eternal glory. Sierra was just to the side, pumping out mist and assisting on the piano with a determined hop, a guitar made of Ice slung on her back for shredding emergency. To his left and were Phin, also reluctant on bass, but much in character of the breed, and Bighead, towering over the others with a long glossy blue dragon-headed guitar that was fit for a giant, enjoying ever second.

https://youtu.be/7JUvmzvFpgU

The first song blasted through like their pop album debut, Sasayaki singing through with Isaac on backup and dancing. Peanut was determined to amp the crowd, hitting the beat heavily while every else played low key, Sierra joining Isaac on the front with what could only be described as battle dancing, never wanting to be out shined.

https://youtu.be/15JCb6P60Vw

The crowd remained on the edge of their seat as the first song conclude, wondering what new poppy verse would come next, but they were blown back as Klank and Bighead took over, Klank’s frustrated hands pounding the beat with same determination of a mid-battle build, and Bighead pounding his gigantic head back and forth as faced Isaac and his powerful vocals, Bighead’s fingers fiercely moving between the strings. Sierra, never wanting the be undone, slid to Isaac’s other side and facing Bighead, shredding the guitar with icy accuracy and a glare that could kill. Phin didn’t want to join in, but understood the gravity of the situation. Standing firm to the crowd and setting the beat.

https://youtu.be/HgzGwKwLmgM

Roars filled the stands as the last song started, a lone spotlight hitting Isaac and Sasayaki, both choosing to harmonize as the rest of the crew fell back to normal levels of hype to let the two shine as they hopped around the stage with soul as sierra took back to piano. The crowd seemed to know this sound, the faint sound of voices joining in as the song raged on. Peanut continued to support with pyrotechnics, perfectly in tune with sounds, though, nearly hitting an angered Klank who was almost appearing happy before the incident. Finally they drew the crowed down as the lights dimmed, claps echoing through the stage when the entire area light up.

A large colosseum came into view, one of many one island, along with other area’s reserved for various activities and more, this particular arena set up with two stages facing each other, with people flooded in the middle and around, and a podium to the side with three chairs, with three daunting figures observing.

The first judge rose, an adorable mink that Isaac tried not to notice, but unmistakably drawn to. “Like, OMG,” she stared, perking up out of her chair and peeping up like the most devoted fangirl. “I absolutely loved you guys! Sierra, girl, you are fireee.” A satisfied smirk found her face as the bouncing bunny girl continued. “This crowd was feeling y’all, and I’d vote for you a thousand times over if I could. Chow my little love birds,” she said with a wink.

The next judge rose, a heavyset man with an oversized mustache that twirled into a hypnotic circle, and a voice that clear looked down on anyone that wasn’t scene. “It was a show, that is for sure. Bighead, you were the star of this performance, giving the technical expertise to the axe that I haven’t seen in some time, and Klank was excellent with both speed and timing.” He began to twirl his mustache as the words set in. “However, I can not discredit the soul brought to the stage by Wiggs and Bedge, who blew me away with their love letter to mt past with “Don’t go breaking my heart.” The two celebrated with a tear felt hug and jumps of joy as Sasayaki stared the two down, a murderous intent in her chain.

Finally, the last judge rose, 8’5”, wide as house, a glare with grit to destroy dreams, and a tight shit that went up to his ribs that read BABY. “I,” he paused, “was not impressed. It is clear to me that this group is still a bunch of strangers trying to come together to for what consider cool music. Peanut, I was appealed by you take on what was supposed to be a joyful beat, and it in fact, stole all the joy from my soul, only slightly more disappointing that that ridiculous mask.” The words set in with a drop of the fiery squill’s head. “Sierra, if you spent more time on you craft than the other musician’s your performance might have been salvageable. Klank, your rhythm on those drums can only be describe a teenage boy trying to figure out love making with his very disappointed first girlfriend. Phin, do I even have to comment? Bighead, you were a distraction the entire performance, and the only thing bigger thing than your head is your ego.”

The crew started to exchange looks, wondering what they would do if the battle was lost, and how they survive if the worst were to happen. Isaac stepped up, Sasayaki amplifying his word. “I’m sorry you didn’t like our performance, but I can assure you, we gave it everything we had, and that’s saying something.”

The man laughed. “I am sure, little bounty hunter. As much as I hated parts of your show, you and Sasayaki really brought a passion to every word, and not even that firey rodent can take away from that, and that is why I have decided to vote for your band, Sailing Sirens.”

The crowd roared, pleased with the class, and Isaac bumped his fist to his chest, then raised his finger to the sky. An image suddenly appeared in the center of the arena, a shadowy man barely visible, with a large sign in his hand prominently labeled “GM.” The judges took their seats and the crowd quickly calmed down to hear his words. “Your crew, Bighead, has proven to be entertaining, and thus, I have decided that you all will participate in this years games. He tapped his sign on the ground, and the crew vanished into the island, each separated to the waiting room to their next challenge, as was customary in the great pirate games. “Bedge, Wiggs, I’m afraid you have lost this battle, and thus are subject to judgement.” He tapped his hammer on the ground again, and a giant wheel appeared in the sky, spinning furiously. Quickly it spun, until it slowed down to a creep, nearly landing on death by 1000 scorpions, until inching over to banishment. The hammer hit the ground again, the two vanishing back onto their ship, which they were so quickly stolen from when sailing too close to the island.

All around the world people cheered from the video Den Den, for the great pirate games, a yearly tradition of victory and brutal defeat head finally begun. “For those of you tuning in for the first time,” the man spoke, “welcome to my island, Arcadia, where the rules are my own, and anything can happen. Most of our contestants will perish to the wheel’s mighty judgement, but those who overcome their obstacles, outsmart their competition, and win our heart, will be given the ultimate prizes as granted by me, you humble GM, and at the very least, be pardon for their crimes and leave this land with their life, for this year,” he said with a mischievous wink. “And don’t forget to Den Den in to let us know what you want to see, and who your favorite contestants are! #Shipitorshipout #Bloodbeatslove #Greatpirategames”

The screen faded out, and Isaac found himself in a cold room with Sasayaki luckily still over his shoulder, nothing but a bed to rest, and a nightstand with one light, and enough food and water to hold him over into the door opened, with anything behind it. “Welp,” Isaac said back to Sasayaki, “Looks like those assholes finally found me,” he said with a satisfied grin, knowing that if he were to die here, it would at least be a flashy death.

Klank nonchalantly paced in a tiny circle around the tiny room. He couldn't be sure how long he was in there, but it was enough time to cause him to duplicate his All-tool in his other hand. He was humming the vocals that Isaac and Sasayaki sang during the bizarre concert they'd been forced into. He threw in mimicked sounds of Sierra's gnarly guitar skill, unable to produce the icy screech. His two All-tools were bouncing to the beat he played along with the band. He might not admit it to the rest of the crew, but after a while, he enjoyed himself for the most part. He'd never done something quite like that, and it was definitely among the top ten events he's witnessed or even been a part of. He continued reminiscing for a while. He payed no mind to his current predicament, lost in failed attempts to recreate tunes. Then the door he couldn't open, slowly creaked. Light overwhelmed the dim candle.

"Well it's about time," he said to no one. Before he started pacing like a loon, Klank had a decent amount of time to think about the situation his crew found themselves. He thought about the wheel that Wiggs and Bedge had to face after their defeat. The only thing he could think of was The Pirate Games. He had never watched, but heard rumors about it. The man running things was hard to impress and even harder to beat. The unbreakable rules, after all, are said to be enforced by the GM's devil fruit powers. He thought about the Judge that sentenced the two marines to their fate. "Got off easy, they did," he remarked. Ah well, wouldn't be a true adventure if we didn't go through some weird shit." He approached the door and stepped into the light, but not before thinking of his ship and saying, "But if they so much as touch my ship." He paused to look ahead. "I'll kill them all."

The sun was almost too bright after being cooped up in the room. He shielded his eyes, looking around and seeing four other people doing the same. They were separated by thin rivers. In the water, wooden posts were randomly placed, each with a Den Den Screen that allowed the world to see each contestant. Klank could see that on the closest screen to him, was himself, hand over his eyes. He raised his hand, smiled, and flipped up his middle finger for the world to see. Cheers and boos echoed into the air. This startled Klank and the other contestants.

"And a feisty one we have here, folks." The voice was familiar. It belonged to the third judge from the concert, GM. "Let's just see if the holds up in our next game."

The sun finally became bearable, and when he peered further out, he could see a large huddle of people, all jumping up and down. They looked kind of hazy, like some kind of barrier was separating them from this games boundaries. Ahead of him, were baby sized islands with no specific pattern. It was the same for each contestant, each path littered differently. The area was mostly sea water, and this had Klank a little nervous, but hopefully nothing he couldn't handle.

"There's only one rule for this game, contestants," the voice said. "You can choose one object on your person, and only one. You have thirty seconds to decide. When you have chosen your item, place it on the pedestal located at the starting post. All other possessions will be confiscated until the game is complete. And the name of this game..." the voice paused. "The Mad Dash." The crowd beyond hollered in excitement. Apparently this particular game was a hit. "Your thirsty seconds start... NOWWW."

Klank immediately produced a cigarette into his mouth and lit. With no time to waste, he dragged the whole thing while he looked around. He noted the other contestants scrambling to choose an item. He walked up to the pedestal, instantly laying his precious all tool onto the post. The moment he did, everything disappeared. His goggles, poof. His fanny pack full of traveling necessities, blip. The wooden plank on his back, Swish. Even his beloved cigarette blinked out of existence. This set him off, but he kept his cool on the outside. "How the hell am I supposed to think straight, now?" he cursed. Luckily he had devised a plan before hand and all he had to do was stick to it.

The moment his items disappeared, Klank abandoned his post and walked back to the shack he came from. As he looked at it, only the door and its frame could be seen. The rest of the shack seemed to be hidden behind some kind of magic, no doubt the result of GM's devil fruit. Why he left the doors was beyond Klank.

"One of the contestants seems to have already given up," the voice echoed. Klank smirked.

"Nah, just exploiting a flaw in your games," Klank thought to himself. The others, finally chose their items and placed them on their respective starting posts. The man to the far right had decided to go with his sword, mostly because it was all he had. The next contestant, a girl, set down a surf board, no doubt thinking it would help her cross the long journey across the many gaps of water. The fourth contestant, a fishman, set down nothing. Klank worried about him. He was sure to be the first one to the finish line. He payed no mind, though, thinking that second place had to offer some kind of safety.

When Klank finally reached the door, the voice echoed once again with a five second count down. He stood there waiting. He didn't want to lead anyone on to his plan before the race started. And then it did. With the official start of the game, Klank watched the others. The man with the sword leaped into the water and began swimming like his life depended on it. Still, it was slow going. The girl jumped back with her board and got a running start. She threw it down just before hitting the water and glided across. It was a much faster approach. The fishman just stood there peacefully. Klank waited a moment, but when there was no sign of movement, Klank made his.

"And I'll just take this," he grunted as he ripped the lone door from its hinges. Door held tightly to his back, Klank ran to his All-tool. Once he snatched it from the post, he let the door fall to the ground. He looked to the sky and once again raised his middle finger. The only rule was to choose ONE item on ONE's person. He tapped his foot on the edge of the door and in moments, six more appeared laying flat on the ground. The first man hadn't made it to the first baby island. The girl was on her third, but running out of gas. She had an effective approach, but not very efficient. With how small each island was, she required more and more strength just to get the speed she needed to get to the next. The fishman, peacefully stood at his starting post. The crowd was silent now, waiting for Klank to make a move. He wished he had a cigarette, but he was use that anger he now felt to fuel his actions. Suddenly, in a chaotic frenzy, Klank began sawing and hammering and building. On the screens dedicated to his lane, the world could only see of cloud of smoke. It concealed his work. "HaHA!" Klank yelled as the dust quickly settled. Before him was a small canoe and two ores locked in with wooden rings. The many planks that made up the tiny vessel were connected by a technique he learned from back in his apprentice days. He carved squared hooks at the edges of the planks. These hooks allowed him to interlock the planks without the use of nails. He pushed the canoe into the water and stepped in. With a devilish grin, he rowed, conserving his energy.

The crowd went wild for the Master Crafter, a title he held in his hometown. The first man was busy trying not to drown, the sword he stubbornly kept weighing him down. The girl was far ahead, but her motivation was dying with her strength. The fishman, peacefully waited. The crowd continued and all screen focused on the smiling Klank.

"Row Row Row your boat," Klank sang loudly. "SAFELY through the GGAAMMEE." He quickly passed the gassed girl, bypassing all the stepping islands. He desperately wished he had a smoke for the laughable occasion. "Warily Warily Warily Warily..." He paused to choose his next words carefully as he reached the final island with the finish line. "He WATCHED as his rules were OUTBRAINED." He ran to the finishing post as he yelled the last word. His intention was to piss off GM for disappearing his cigarette. Which he might regret now that the game was over and all his possession blinked back into their rightful places. He immediately duped a smoke into his mouth and took a deep breath after the first drag. His mind was clear once again. "Shit"

The crowd was still raging, though some of them were waiting for a reaction. The surf girl, winded to all hell, finally completed her coarse. The first contestant laying on his back atop an island way back, and the fishman was still standing peacefully. This confused Klank, but it was in the back of his thoughts. He waited for the judging.

"Impressive!" the distinctive voice appeared. "I admit I did not see that coming, and by the reactions of everyone watching, neither did the viewers. For that alone," The judge and creator of The Pirate Games suddenly appeared suspended mid air. "I CHOOSE to allow you into the next round of games. However, you'll get a special game. One I've been waiting to introduce to the fans. You'll find there are no rules to exploit." He turned to the screens as they all changed to display him. "BUT WE"LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE," he yelled to amp the crowd even more.

"As for the rest of you," he pointed to the three other contestants. "There's only one winner for The Mad Dash.

A wheel appeared before each of the other contestants, already spinning. The judge announced the results before the world.

"First Contestant Hagen, Chosen item, a sword. I am most displeased with your pathetic display. For that, you are sentenced to," he paused to wait for the wheel and read the result. "Live out your days in the Hall of Punishment." The crowd gasped. "Second Contestant Heidi, chosen item, a surf board. Admiral performance, lacking in conviction." He tapped his hammer in the air. The wheel stopped and GM read. "Death by The Depths. An unfortunate demise." He said it unphased. "Fourth contestant Turok, no chosen item." His eyes pierced. A fishman exiled from the sea." A tap of the hammer and slowing of the wheel. "You are sentenced to... Combat of Second Chances. Maybe we'll see something out of you yet." The creator looked to Klank with an emotionless smile. "You advance, Third Contestant Klank, chosen item, a multi-tool." Klank grunted at the name. "But the Wheel of judgement," he paused. "Will find you in the next game." And with that, Klank was teleported out of sight.

“So, this is the place,” Bighead remarked, the feeling so familiar. Since leaving the room, the man found himself in a lavish villa, filled with what could only be described as fantasy location with the most unrealistically attractive creatures in the world.

A woman stood before him, flowing blonde hair that reached her knees, curves that bent the imagination, lips swollen with anticipation, and piercing blue eyes that nervously looked to the ground before finding his again. “I,” she started, her hand gripping the other, pressed against a golden dress that shimmed in the lights, slightly damp from stray splashed from reckless bachelors cannoning the pool. “I feel like our connection is so strong, which is crazy, because even though we just met, I feel like I’ve you all my life.” Her face glew as she reached for a rose from the table beside them, likely more expensive than anything the pirate ever owned. “That is why I have decided to give you this first impression rose.”

She handed the rose to Bighead, looking over it curiously, before tossing it up in the air before walking off, “Nope.”
“Wait,” she begged, rushing to the rose, and turning him back around. “This means I have chosen you, to move on, and get a chance to be with me. It means you’re safe.

“Ohhhhh, I see,” he said, taking the rose again, looking her in the eyes, her beautiful eyes, then crushing the flower in his hands and tossing it to the side. “I am not a man who can be won so easily, he declared while walking to the crowd and looking up at the den den.

----------------------------------

The wheel started spinning in the sky, the crowd on edge for the divine judgement, all while Bighead smiled. Just as the wheel started to slow, he grew to the size of three house stacked, his arm raised prominently in the air. “Wait,” he demanded, the smile growing faster than his enormous grin, “I have a proposition for you, GM.”

The wheel glitched, needle skipping until it vanished, signifying the GM’s wavering resolve, his silhouette appearing again on the monitor, glasses glowing with interest. “I respect you, Bighead, that is why I have not killed you on the spot, but I did not think you a coward. You harbor my enemy, wander into to island as I host my games, refuse to play, and now you stop my wheel!?” The crowd clung to his every word, understanding just how GM had become over the years. There was a reason he was an emperor, his judgement absolute, but that did not mean he was without weaknesses. “What could you possibly have to offer me, old friend?”

The man continued to grow, the other contestants cowering behind their doors as the villa barely fit his feet, his head now reaching the screen, looking GM’s face dead on, arms surrendered in the air. “The best damn pirate games since Jimmy Blue Jeans entered this island, RIP,” he called out, with two taps to this chest, and his finger held prominently to the sky.”

The image looked down, the crowds looking up in awe at the display. “That’s a tall promise,” he smirked, the lure set. “What are you offering?”

“Why, me of course!” The crowd gasped, understanding what it entailed. The rule-rule fruit was powerful, but the one thing it could not alter was free will, that was for man alone to change. “I wager that my crew will not only survive this game, they will win it, and when they do, we will take no prize, only our fame, and sail away with a smile.”

The figure remained uncharacteristically quiet, as did the crowd until coming back. “Such confidence, to trust your remaining years in such.. questionable hands. You must know these men well.”

Bighead let out a laugh so boisterous, it rumbled the stands. “No, not really. In fact, I just met them a few days ago, but I just got this feeling.”

GM’s laugh bordered on the maniacal, carrying on longer than was socially acceptable for anyone else. “Fine! You think they can beat me and my rules!? I’ll grant your request, and when I win, and I will win, Jesse, you will host these games until your last days.” He raised his hammer.

“Ohhh, one more thing,” Bighead interrupted. “I trust these games will all be fair for my crew. I’d hate for your reputation to be ruined over greed,” he grinned, casually looking to the crowd, and then to the cameras.

GM paused, frustrated with the idea of limiting himself, but when push came to shove, his image was the only thing that ever mattered to him, it was, afterall, the whole reason he invented these little shows instead of pursuing greater treasures on the seas. “They will be winnable, but they don’t have to be easy,” he declared with a tap of the sign, the crowd roaring Bighead’s name as he vanished to GM’s room, chained to a chair in vision to the camera, still grinning.

The crowd went wild for the next event in The Pirate Games. Seats ran in a large circle, much like a coliseum, and they were all filled. In the center of this arena like section of Arcadia, was a giant sized sphere of water. Illuminated red and blue lines ran throughout this hovering ball, which made it look like some kind of sports court. Seven fishmen were swimming inside, feeling out the boundaries and from what Phin could tell, warming up. Six others were standing close by, each of them taking on different stretches. It seemed like Phin was the only one unprepared for what was about to happen.

"And now for one of my personal favorites," A voice sounded barely excited. "Prepare to witness the brutal strength, devastating speed, and the unrivaled endurance of fishmen in this..." the voice paused. "THE FISHMAN BOWL." and with that, the crowd sent a quake of cheer through the island.

Phin looked back to the water floating in the air, now realizing the fishmen inside were the opposing team. He grimaced at his predicament. The only time Phin ever did anything against his will was for his crew, but he understood what was at stake. Especially now, with his Captain plastered on Den Den Screens all over the world. The man, for the short time that he'd been with the fairly new crew, seemed to have an awful lot a faith. After taking a moment to ponder it, Phin supposed this particular situation was in fact, now, for the crew. "Dammit," he cursed.

The voice, body-less, went on. "As this is in my top events, as you all know, The Fishman Bowl has a simple set of rules. Leaving ones boundary, marked by the glowing red and blue lines, whether it be intentional or by force, calls for automatic judgment. Anything else is allowed. Each player is allowed to use anything on their person from when they arrived." Suddenly, GM materialized in a flashy manner above the sphere. In times past, this spot was where the creator observed the game. A Judgement wheel appeared next to him. "The game is simple. Each player gets a metal ball." One appeared in his hand. It was red, heavy, and the size of a typical cannonball. He continued. "If a player is hit," he said as he launched the ball. It flew at an incredible speed and hit a hologram version of himself. The hologram blinked from his position and into a box above the sphere. "They are teleported to the penalty box for Judgement. And this is where it gets interesting, for those who are new. The wheel spins for thirty seconds, and only resets once it reaches its time. If another player of the same team is hit while their ally is in, the former is permanently out of the game and the ladder takes his place. If an opposing player of the penalized is hit, the former is back in play, and the ladder takes his place. If a ball is caught, the throwee takes the penalty spot. The Fishman Bowl is won when one team is left standing."

Out of nowhere, Phin, along with the rest of his team, vanished from the ground and into the bowl. Fourteen red balls sank down from where GM stood. Seven went to each half of the dome. Each player took their stances at the rear of the borders, ready for the command. Phin floated patiently, observing the watery arena. Thick lines of red and blue separated the dome into fourteen cone like sections, to which each ball finally found towards the center of the dome. There was no time to form a strategy.

"BEGIN!" GM yelled, and the crowd went wild once again.

Every fishman, Phin included, darted for their respective balls. Red streaks flew inside the dome, some bouncing off the invisible wall of the sphere, sending splashes into the crowd. This amped them up even more. Other balls were caught while others made contact. The penalty box immediately cycled players, going so fast that the crowd could only see flash poses of those hit, until one fishman remained. At that point, the wheel had been spinning for five seconds. The event continued like nothing happened. It had to, or anyone of them could be next to face the wheel. Phin, twisting out of the way of an assailing ball, almost passed his given border. It was all much faster paced than he'd expected.

The ball he avoided smashed into the wall behind him, bouncing back and heading right for him. He caught it with ease, and the moment he did, the fishman who threw it took his teammates place at the box. The wheel ticked its final second as it happened.

"Sea King fodder," GM judged. The wheel reset its thirty seconds, and the fishman vanished. The game went on.

Over the next thirty minutes, Phin's team slowly started to vanish until it was just him to face five enemies alone. One of them had used his karate to shoot tiny pellets as a distraction before hitting his targets with the red metal ball. He was undoubtedly the MVP of the Blue Team. The crowd screamed in anticipation. With no balls in his zone, Phin focused his attention on the dome in its entirety. One of the opposing players carried a bat, which he used to wail the balls at much greater speeds. Another held three balls, leaving him with one free hand. The MVP held one, but he was comfortable with his abilities. The others were scrambling to gather what they could, and when they did, they talked between one another on how to proceed. They witnessed the speed Phin had displayed throughout the match, and the only one not concerned was the strongest member of the team. Each of them approached the tips of their cone shaped boundaries.

Phin waited patiently as they all swam at the center. It would be a highly focused assault, but Phin had been saving his best move. They might have expected it if he revealed it any sooner. With all the confidence in the world, The Blue Team wound up and let loose everything they had. Phin took his boomerang in hand. He spun around, turning his back to the enemy. The tool started spinning, drawing water inwards and creating a funnel. When he whipped back to face them, the whirl pool followed. It snatched the metal spheres and gathered them at the center. He immediately spun the boomerang in the opposite direction. The balls dispersed into his former members territory. He forced the tool in the other direction again. Building up the momentum, Phin spun his body once more. Water forced its way inward as the lone fishman gained more spinning speed. When he built up enough power, he flung the six-sided tool. It arced horizontally across the arena, a maelstrom following its path. The weight of its pull tugged violently on each member of the opposing team. Within seconds, they all flew passed Phin as he caught the boomerang, maelstrom already faded.

The crowd went silent, but only for a moment. Phin instantly went from underdog to favorite to the fans of The Pirate Games, evident through the roaring celebration. He looked to GM, no smile, no emotion, just a look.

"You've certainly redeemed yourself from that atrocity of a performance in the Battle of Bands." GM looked out to his viewers. He was stricken with anger, but it didn't show. On one hand, he was glad the crowd enjoyed the show, as it only reflected highly on him. On the other hand, the victor was under Bighead's wing. He looked at the screen, cursing the smiling fool. "You advance, Phin, of the Bighead Pirates."

Phin suddenly vanished from the coliseum. He would never know the fate of the fishmen he bested, and he didn't care.

Siera sat there in the corner staring at the door that she could barely make out in the dark and gloomy room. She was surround by what looked like walls made out of black smoke; and if it wasn't for Peanut's flame shinning brightly in the room she wouldn't have barely been able to see her hand in front of her face. She could still hear the roaring of the frantic crowd cheering on the games.

"That's one down" She said to herself wondering if it was one of her crew members that won. She figured it was since she knew that there was no way they would go down that easily. She had heard of the games before and had watched them with her mother when she was growing up, but she never knew that it was random people who were thrown into the games just for coming too close to the island itself. She had always thought that it was for bad men who had done something wrong and were caught by the marines. Her mother told her that it was the only way the people could ever escape there life sentences they were given by the marines. After this though she knew that it was not the case and looking back at it she almost wishes she hadn't participated in watching the games in the first place.

"If only I could get my chance at the GM's head then we would see who the real winner was" she thought to herself sitting there frustrated waiting for her time to shine. That's when she could hear big head taunt the GM with his bet that his crew would take home the win and they would be set free because of it. She laughed out loud putting her hands over her face to stop herself from showing any emotions in case the GM had been keeping an eye on her to look for any kind of weakness. She remained in the room silently staring at the door burning a hole into with her gaze awaiting her moment still when all of the sudden the door slowly started to open and made loud screech as it did. "wow they can't even afford to make decent doors out here for even games just as big as this, maybe I should let them know about their master builder Klank so we can get some decent carpentry in this place!" she thought to herself as she put her hand on the floor and slowly stood up. She felt like she was in that room for years. By the time she got close to the entrance her eyes were seared in pain by the bright light radiating through the doorway. She took her first step through the doorway and kept her eyes closed slowly blinking until they got used to the bright light. Peanut laying on his stomach with his eyes closed and his little hands across his face like he was scared but ready for what ever was on the other side of the door. Before she even opened her eyes she could hear the loud roaring of the crowd cheering her on. When she was finally opened her eyes she at first could only see the crowd circling the her and practically jumping out of their seats.

She looked to her left and saw that she was standing in the middle of a long rectangular platform with no more then 3 feet wide and 20 feet long. The platform as standing 5 feet above the water and it looked like the water was swarming with sharks.
"well this looks like it's gonna be a lot of fun!" Siera thought to herself as she leaned over the edge of the platform waving her wand over the water saying "here sharky sharky come get some dinner" She let out a little giggle thinking about the impending doom she was in and then stood up and took a glance at her surroundings. Each of the contestants were standing about 5 feet away from each other. There were two men to the left of her, they had matching clothes like they were in a crew both with white shirts that looked like the sleeves were ripped off and black pants. They both had swords on their right side and what looked like the end of a barrel to a pistol holstered on the left sides. They were older men but they looked like plain old deckhands, She knew that considering that was her first job in the marines and she had worked with a lot of them cleaning and picking up around the ship when she first started out on the open seas. They were not much older then she was, but they were definitely not here on their own accord nor were they battle ready because the site of the sharks in the water spooked them so much they looked like they were ready to defecate their pants any minute now. She looked at the man she was standing next to on her right side and noticed that he was not only a big guy but he was very muscular and looked like he could hold his own in a fist fight and he had an expression on his face that screamed I'm ready for anything, bring on the worst you got. He wasn't wearing an shirt at all but he was covered in tattoo's and had a staff strapped to his back with a rope going down the front of him and connecting to the other side of the staff keeping it on his back. Siera blushed at the half naked man covered in muscles until she notices a woman standing next to him who was definitely older then she was but she was more womanly then her with her long flowing blond hair her big breasts barely contained by the short pink crop top she was wearing. She had long thin legs that were toned like she was also used to strenuous activity and a big old smile on her face as she waved to the crowd trying to get all of the attention. The woman had a long whips wrapped around her leg and the handle was on her left side. If you looked at the woman with a quick glance you would have thought that it was just and elaborate tattoo on her leg but sierra knew better. "I'm way more prettier then she is" she thought to herself as she grinned over at the women trying not lose focus of the task at hand when she could hear the announcer speak.

"Here we ready for the next round and boy have I been waiting for this one, since this game has been banned for a while due to it's graphic nature." The crowd roared in excitement ready for the games to begin."

She looked up to see the announcer floating in the air above them looking down at them with a grin on his face.

"The rules to this game are simple, Each contestant is standing on in the middle of a red circle hovering over shark infested water."

Siera looked down and noticed the circle she and the other contestants were standing in the middle of. "Wow I noticed everything else but the damn circle i was standing in the middle of great job, Sierra" she thought to her self while the Gm was explaining the rules.

"Once the game begins the platform will disappear and the only thing left will be the circular platforms that the contestants are standing on. Slowly the platforms will get smaller and smaller until they are completely gone. If you touch the water you're out! the last person to make it wins"

"LET THE GAME BEGIN" the announcer shouted and before Siera knew it the platform de-materialized and the only thing left was the 5 circular platforms.

"Hmmm I wonder how fast the these things were gonna disa..." Siera said before she was cut off by the noise of the wood hitting the water from the pieces falling off of her platform. it was then when she noticed the 5 minute timer counting down as it floated in the air above the contestants. Of course it was only a little bit at a time but they were falling off fast and Peanut started to rustle around her back from one shoulder to another worried that he was about to be fish food for the sharks circling underneath them.

She looked to her right and saw the man and woman talking to each other like they knew each other some how and they were figuring out a game plan to get them both out of this. Little did they know that the two deckhands on her left were freaking out already. The deckhand who was standing on the end platform to her left was freaking out so badly that he started yelling "I'm not waiting to die" as he leaped off of his platform on to the guy standing next to him pushing him off of his platform and sending him flying down to the water below. right before he hit the water a giant 30 foot shark comes flying out from beneath the bright blue water and into the air swallowing the man hole before it gracefully landed back into the water cutting through the waves like butter with his pointy snout and smooth grey colored skin.

"Wow so those huge sharks can practically flying through the air! Well that's another thing I've got to worry about now great! Flying sharks" sierra said.

"One down already and we're only 30 seconds into the game 4 more to go I can't wait to see what they have in store for us next" the announcer shouted and the crowd started to get louder making it hard to hear anything in the arena.

Siera looked at the man on her left who was still shouting but for the life of her she couldn't hear anything he was saying because of the noise from the crowd cheering them on. His eyes staring straight at her as he lowered himself like he was about to jump at her. Before he made any move he opened his mouth and started to let out a loud roar like a warrior in mad rage, before she could respond she heard a very loud squeak and she looked over at her shoulder and saw peanut with a ferocious look on his face screaming towards them man flailing his little arms like a mad man before he leaped off of her should and landed on the mans face scratching at his eye and kicking him in the head. The man screamed like a girl in a panic and lost his footing and started to fall backwards. Peanut then leaped off of his face kicking the man sending him flying to the water below were he was swallowed up by the sea and given the large shadow moving towards him underneath the water the sharks swallowed him whole as well.

The platform had reach half it's size by now and they seemed like they were descending closer and closer to the water below. Once Peanut had landed Siera turned to her right to see the man and the woman standing there laughing at what had just transpired.

"Well little one that was quite the show" the rippled man said as he started to grab the the staff off of his back. The women next to him nodded in approval as she grabbed the handle of her whip and it started to uncoil itself from her leg like the tattoo was coming to life and it was ripping itself off of her skin.

"I really feel bad about having to do this and I know you understand it's for the game little girl, but it's time to go"

Siera's face had turned almost beat red at this point out of anger. "Little girl" she said, snarling at the man as he loosened his staff from his back and held it at his side ready to attack her at any moment. Both him and the women were staring at her like she was there prey about to be demolished. The man lowered himself and was about to leap at her when when one of the 30 foot sharks leaped out of the water and in a blink of an eye the shark flew threw the air and snatched the man off the platform swallowing him whole leaving the women and Siera standing there covered in water from the tail of the shark flapping in the air as it flew by them with the man in its mouth screaming all the way down until he was silenced once plummeted into the sea being swallowed up by the enormous shark.

They both stood there staring at each other as the announcer shouted "Ooooooo and big bessy got another this time they didn't even see her coming. Give Bessy a round of applause everyone that might have been a new jump record for her" The crowd somehow managed to get even louder as the games came closer to an end.

Siera and the women both stared at each other shocked but only for a moment before getting back there composure and keeping en eye out for the other sharks. Peanut remained standing on her shoulder with his mouth wide open in shock thinking about how that could have been him in that's sharks mouth.

"get it together Peanut the game isn't over, and I don't plan on being shark food anytime soon!" Peanut crawled underneath Siera's shirt and popped his little head out underneath Siera's head with his hand still over his mouth trying not to think about becoming shark food.

"I have to end this quickly" the older woman said under her breath as her foot slipped off of the side of the platform. At this point the both stood there on one foot balancing and trying to keep an eye on the sharks below and each other. The platforms were just barely big enough for them to stand on with one foot and they were still getting smaller. Siera made a quick glance up at the sky above them and noticed that there was only 60 seconds left on the clock. At the pace these platforms were disappearing she was gonna have to start balancing on one toe very soon. When she looked back down at the woman's platform she was gone. she looked down at the platform and she noticed the whip was wrapped around the base just under her feet. she had been swinging beneath her going very fast and just dodging on of the sharks that leaped out of the water to grab her as she swung by.

She flew straight up into the air behind Siera and was coming down flying towards her with a kick to send Siera flying off her platform. Before the woman landed her kick Siera turned towards the woman and back flipped off of her platform; she just barely landed on the man's platform that was right in between their's. The older woman landed on Siera's old platform with the leg she was going to kick her with and laughed as she went to stand straight up. By then it was too late because what the woman didn't know was that Siera had left a\ sheet of ice on it, so thin that you had to really pay attention to it to even know it was there. The older women slipped off the platform falling backwards towards the water and noticed Siera looking at her with a grin on her face.

Siera looked up at the GM as the woman was falling towards the shark infested water. She had a big grin on her face as if to say 'is that the best you got' when she felt something coiling around her leg that was standing on the plat form. She could feel the tight squeeze around her leg and she braced for the weight that she knew she was about to take on. She knew it could only be one thing...

"the whip" she thought to herself as she looked down to see the woman hanging on to the whip wrapped around her leg.

"I'm not out yet" the woman shouted at Siera holding on for dear life as the sharks started to circle in the water underneath her.

Siera looked at her with a big smile and said "yes you are" It was at that moment when Peanut lifted his head out of Siera's shirt and gave her a smile and waved at her. He took in a deep breath and shot out a huge line of fire at the middle of the whip, incinerating it and sending the women crashing down into the water. The woman disappeared underneath the waves, and the sharks diving in and out of the water frantically.

"Weeeee have a winnner" the announcer shouted and the crowd cheered as Siera stood there on one leg with her arms crossed and pressed against her chest and a smirk on her face; and of course Peanut standing on her should mimicking her pose as they appeared on the screens all around the Colosseum.

"You got lucky little girl, but even kids get a win every once in a while at the games!" the crowd cheered and Siera shot the GM an irritated look like he was next before she disappeared from the Colosseum in a poof of black smoke

The door opened, light and mist pouring through as the crowd’s roar was aleady appearent. He knew what happened to Bighead, the man that supposed to be his trump card, now removing any chances Isaac had to vanish into the crowd like he planned. The crowd continued to amp as he remained inside, Sasayaki still on his back, peaking through see what challenge was ahead, nodding to confirm that the man was as predictable as they assumed. “Play it,” he instructed, taking one last moment to compose himself before the show began.

youtu.be/0vRbxtTCY50

Isaac strutted through the mist as the song blared behind him, his arms slightly raised to his side, beckoning challengers as he approached the ring. It was your classic three roped wrestling area, posts made from pure seastone, and a mat that looked as springy as he remembered. The other contestants lacked his flair, nervously waiting on the side of the ring, likely due to the behemoth of man that remained across from them. Regardless, Isaac couldn’t let such men intimidate his only chance to get off this island. He hopped up to the stage, pumping up his arms and Sasayaki dance around him to the aggressive beat, jumping on the post and putting his hand on his ear to the audience, causing an uproar of cheers and boos. “I can’t hear youuuuu.” he yelled, repeating the action, causing an uproar, and forcing the behemoth, the clear favorite to cross his arms.

“If you’re done, Isaac, I’d like to explain the game for those who might want to survive it, if that is alright with you,” GM interjected, just as much of a dick as he remembered.

“Give ‘em hell, boy,” Bighead yelled from the background, forcing a stern lookback from GM.

GM appeared high on the projectors, “Welcome to the ring, a game usually reserved for late round combat, but fitting, considering new games I have cooked up for this show.” He paused for the crowd, losing their minds for the idea of new games. “And for the first time ever, all of you at home can den den in with your reactions, just transmit to the number below and #greatpirategames.”

A new bar appeared on the bottom of the screen, messages from the home audience scrolling below, and a section for a poll appearing. “What does it say?” Sasayaki whined, “Do they love us?”

“The ring is an 8-man free for all, winning by knockout or ring out, with the top competitor moving on to the next game without question, spinning the gold wheel for an advantage in the next round, and the other top contenders spinning the silver and bronze wheels for penalties. For the rest of you, judgement will be decided after the match, so remain quiet until it is past. The only rule to this game, is no weapons are allowed, which means Sasayaki, you advance as the third-place contestant by default,” He taped his sign to the ground and Sasayaki vanished, his waist suddenly feeling naked, her distinct frequency gone, making the world quiet again.

GM vanished from the projector, and a referee appeared at the center of the ring, as was customary in this classic, beckoning the other contestants to the ring. “Alright, you know the rules. Keep it clean, keep it fun, and most importantly, keep it in the ring. If I see any foul play, I’ll throw you out of this ring faster than you can ‘Spin the wheel,’ got it?” The contestents nodded, each taking a spot in the ring, nerves building, crashing into violence as the bell rang.

“Showtime,” Isaac remarked, gingerly hopping up to the post without Sasayaki’s added weight. One of the smaller contestents saw the opportunity for a quick ring out, charging him dead on. The man rushed with a blunted shoulder, but he was too predictable, Isaac front flipping over his head and rushing his body against the seastone, stunning him. He took a quick glance at the crowd, raising his arms and in innocence before sliding him under the ropes with low spin grab. The man vanished before hitting the ground, appearing in one of six seats around the ring; GM had never intended for more than two to advance.

Another man was run out by the behemoth, his overgrown arms lifting his prey and chucking him against the barrier, the crowd reeling back at the collision, only to celebrate as the unconscious man slid down and vanished to another seat. It had looked like her would get another victory, but as grabbed for the next victim, a tall woman with hair down to the floor, her body broke apart into an array of noodles, reforming behind him and rushing to the opposite side of the ring. He peaked back, annoyed, but it didn’t really matter what order the enemy fell, only that they did. His gaze was now on Isaac, “You’re next, enemy.”

Me? he pointed, realizing that this was a match he win without Sasayaki, but not one he could ignore. In the pirate game, when more than one contestant could move on, the game became more than just surviving the round, it became a chess match, eliminating people who you thought could hurt your game most in the future, and if the brute could survive to face one of his new companions, there was no telling what kind of brutality they would suffer. “Well, stud,” he teased, “what are you waiting for? Lay it on me big guy.”

The man charged forward, wildly swinging for a feel of human flesh, but much too slow for his prey. Isaac may nit have much of an offensive without his weapon, but he had honed his observation haki to level that made it easy to predict such simplistic movements. Left, right, from above, from above by slightly left, he saw each attack come at him over and over, yet it did not slow down the man, continuing his assault and Isaac easily leaped back on over each attempt. “Stay still,” the aggressor yelled, his anger reaching its peak as Isaac jumped onto his arm, the head, the testing his stability with a kick to spine, the crowd now laughing at the brute.

“Hey hunter,” the devil fruit user yelled, facing he own challenge with a man that was well versed in the government’s martial arts, display his iron body with pride. “You figure out a way to clean up that monster and I’ll take care of these other small fry. We can roshambo for placement after that.

He peaked over while she was getting set up. “That’s a deal noodle, but I am going to need something from you first,” he smiled.

“Already planning it,” she smiled, clearly a fan of the events.

“Hey ugly,” Isaac yelled, the man fully turned. “I bet you hit like a skypean,” he smirked, crossing his arms and fluttering them prominently.

The brute roared to the sky, his pride now at stake while a commotion continued behind him “You know,” he rumbled, “There isn’t any rule against killing, and it would be so easy.”

“Just like your mother, big guy.” The crowd was roused, with mother insults hitting particularly hard in the pirate community.

He huffed, clearly ready to kill. “Take it back,” he demanded. “My mother was a saint, and NO ONE talks bad about her.”

Isaac shot a glace at the crowd, biding his time, the continued he smirk to the man. “She certainly isn’t one now, if I you what I mean.” His hands cupped and inviable shape at his check then slowly moved it down to his waist as he raised his brow. “Don’t worry,” he assured him. “I was gentle.”

“Enough,” he yelled, finally where he needed him to be, charging at Isaac with a blind rage. Isaac waited, seeing large fist come from him, seeing what would happen if dodged a moment to late, yet still finding the patients to hold back until the fist was nearly on him. The crowd gasped as he vanished to the side, the brute’s heavy fist hitting the referee with its full force, sending the unfortunate mediator out of the ring and into the barrier. He remained still for a moment after hitting the ground, the brute just standing there in awe.

Noodle was true to her word, luring the target where he needed to be, then sweeping up the remaining contestants as they were distracted by the commotion. The referee finally found his feet, pulling a red card out of his pocket, a red X appearing in the sky, and the wheeling, transformed into a much darker version, started to spin. “Hitting the judge is an automatic disqualification, and entitles you to the death wheel.”

It was a scary name, but not all options of the death wheel were fatal, yet they did tend to be harsher, with an alarmingly larger number of punishments over forgiveness. Isaac almost felt bad for what he had done, but the games were all about survive, a concept he and noodle understood. He was happy to work with the women, but knew that he may have to fight her in an upcoming round. Still, he too was a person of his words, meeting her in the center of the ring for a showdown unlike any other previously seen in the games. “Judge, can I get some music over here?”

The man stepped onto the stage, realizing what was to happen. He made a motion to the sky, and had the show shake hands, the girl’s grip unsurprisingly flimsy. “Alright,” the judge started, if this is how it goes down, is going to be the best out of three, same time released, haki disabled. Agreed?”

The two looked at each other, the woman smiling at the rule mod, knowing Isaac fully intended to use his observation to win. “Agreed,” he sighed, his senses dulling as the new rule overtook the ring, music staring in the stands.

youtu.be/Y1PRiUcIJMI

Their eyes locked, the crowd cheering ferociously as one hand laid flat, the other motioning. The hands moved to the words, the first round released, widening Isaac’s eyes. “Scissors beats paper! Isaac score the first blow!”

Isaac pulled back, celebrating his point with a breakdown for the crowd, slinking to the ground with a crisp wave move that hadn’t been used since before his time. “Sounds easy”

They met again, hands motioning vigorous, this time the woman pulling back. “Rock beats scissors, Penne strikes back!”

The woman did a dance of her own, her body turning to noodles and twisting in a pasta tornado, before coming back. “Was there any other pastabilitiy?”

“Alright,” the referee announced, “this is for the win, and for an advantage in the next round. Get those fists ready!” The crowd stood in their seats; hands pressed against the barrier as their hands motioned. He gave the girl a final glance before releasing his choice, the crowd gasping before he could even look down. Isaac had thrown scissors, never doubting that the noodle could predict it, knowing it was her one weakness, but looking down in awe as a lone rock stood before him. Isaac, had lost. Penne lit up, wrapping him in her flimsy embrace before doing a lap around the ring, the crowd cheering for her as her advantage wheel spun. ‘Skip a round,’ the wheel read, drawing in instant envy, but a warm smile, knowing he wouldn’t have to face her ability anytime soon. “No hard feeling hunter,” she called out before GM appeared on screen to announce her victory and send her off with a tap of the hammer.

“Well now, Isaac, it seems you will be moving on, but with a penalty, shall we see what that is?” he asked the crowd, now on its feet, yet GM wasn’t happy one bit. In the time since the silver penalty wheel appeared, the crowd had started chanting “hunter,” his gifted pirate games name.

Isaac raised his hands to the crowd, taking in the praise from a well-done show, then lowered them, the crowd becoming silent as they took his side. “You know, George,” he started, the name piercing through the projector, “I love these games, these people too much to take an advantage.” The crowd riled up again, calming down with another raise and lowing of the hands. “So, I say,” he paused. “Bring on that wheel baby!”

The crowd lost it as the silver penalty ring started spinning, lasting for what seemed like forever, then finally landing on what would be his trial within the trial, the GM reading happily, “Sudden death,” the worst of the silver wheel penalties, the crowd stirring with the same emotions as Isaac, although he would never show it.

Klank was in a room identical to the one from before. The only difference was that now, Sasayaki, Isaac's beloved weapon, was coiled up on the small wooden chair next to the barely lit candle. She appeared out of nowhere sometime after the shipwright won his game and was teleported himself. He wondered what GM could possibly have planned to be putting the two together. He was glad, though, that this next challenge would be taken on with familiar company. He walked over and sat down on the floor next to the chair, sliding down the wall as he did. He popped a smoke and lit, inhaling it in a single bound and immediately lighting another to relax. After the first game, he was able to rid himself of the anger from being put in this position. Now, he was calm and ready for anything.

"Just go with the flow," He lightly whispered to himself. It was a saying he learned from his time with the Kraken Pirates.

"Ugh!" Sasa blurted.

"Problem?" Klank replied.

"In fact there is." Clanking of the chain followed suit, almost like she turned to face her soon to be partner. "Problem is, you sound like the old Isaac, but you're not him." She thought herself that the saying made her miss him. She felt different without the one she's grown accustomed to.

"You mean he wasn't always that way?" Klank took a puff. "I would love to see the troublemaker before he was just that." Another puff.

"He was always a troublemaker." Her voice became softer. Her attitude towards Klank had changed a bit since Jubiltown. "Those were just darker times for the both of us." It was obvious her sudden loss was taking an odd toll for the living weapon. She remained silent.

"Well," Klank stood, taking another drag. "We've all had darker times, and we've all seen things we probably could have lived without." He lit another cigarette before the other was finished. "It's all fine and dandy to dwell on the past from time to time," A long drag. "Today is not one of those times. We have a game to win, whatever the hell it's gonna be, and if you wanna be in Isaac's grasp again, then I need you to perform just as you would if it was him wielding you. I need you to get ANGRY." He yelled that last word to emphasize the emotion.

"You couldn't handle me," she assured.

The chain rattled. Klank took hold of Sasa by the handle of the blade and held her up high as he whirled the chain around his arm.

"GET ANGRY," he demanded. It was then, when Sasa got angry, that Klank felt his mistake. A violent vibration stormed through the chain. He yelled in pain as he fell, Sasa still wrapped around his arm. The shock was so powerful that Klank couldn't let go.

Of her own accord, the weapon silenced herself and spoke. "You dope. Literally, you can't handle me."

"We'll figure it out," he struggled. His whole body felt numb, like it fell asleep and thousands of needles were prodding at once when he tried to move. "We have to."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Welcome, fans of The Pirate Games." The voice was GM's. He stood over an enormous sea course. The boundaries started at the edge of Arcadia, the farthest reaches spanning far out into the sea. A thin translucent dome covered the entirety of the coarse. There were no extra islands, just open sea. Little obstacles, however, were randomly placed. Some were tall wooden pillars, others were giant ramps, and even some cone shaped mechanisms facing in many directions. "This is a brand new event I've cooked up just for you. I call it," he paused for dramatic effect. "TWISTED WOOD!" The crowd roared as the cone shaped mechanisms exploded with fire breath. Few of them shot out cannons. "Rules are simple. Each team has an hour to modify a ship of their choosing." GM extended his hand to a group of ragged ships by the edge of Arcadia. Further inland, there were multiple piles of scrap wood, worn weapons, and other strange objects. "After that hour is up, the chosen ships will set sail within the Dome of Destruction for a free-for-all showdown." He tapped his hammer mid-air, and eight doors beyond the scrap piles opened. Out walked the contestants.

Somewhere in the middle, Klank walked out, Sasyaki in hand and chain wrapped thickly around his forearm. He looked ragged, showing the beating he had taken in his short training sessions with the weapon. The blunt end of the chain glowed and hovered, observing the competition. The other seven crew were of no unique qualities. At least to her. Some fishmen, humans, and other creatures were among them.

"We'll kill them all," she said loud enough for some of the others to hear. The duo received harsh death glares.

"Anything goes in this game. However," he paused again. A purple wheel of judgment appeared at the peak of the dome. "Every two minutes a rule will be enforced as deemed by the wheel. The longer the match goes on, the tougher the game becomes. The last ship standing, wins." GM looked to the contestants. "HOW LONG DO THEY HAVE TO MODIFY THEIR SHIPS?" he yelled for the crowd. To which they, including those watching from the screens, yelled, "ONE HOUR!"

"BEGIN!"

The contestants immediately took off to claim their ships. Klank took off for the piles. Sasa didn't like that.

"What are you doing, you fool? You'll end up with shittiest ship out there."

Klank kept his pace and began digging once he got there. He wasn't worried. "They're all ships that don't deserve to grace the sea with their presence." He watched the others as they chose, and predictable they were. "Look at them. Going for the biggest, heaviest ship they can find." He chuckled. "No two man crew can effectively maneuver, let alone battle, with a ship of those sizes. Especially ones that are not tailored to the crew." Klank knew that none of their competitors were shipwrights, a welcome advantage to him. "Do you trust me?" he asked Sasa.

"I sure as hell don't."

Klank could feel the paralyzing effect of Sasa's anger, but it wasn't so bad now. He produced another cigarette, glad that he was allowed to keep it this time. It kept him calm and clear. "You're gonna have to." He lugged a brazier onto his shoulder and then reached into his fanny pack. He pulled out a small vial of oil and smiled devilishly. "Because anything goes."

With but a few minutes left, each two man crew was finished with their modifications. Each ship underwent basic patch jobs, horribly done, confirming Klank's thought of no shipwrights. Most of the fixes made were unnecessary, having little to no effect on maneuverability. All of them had overly used cannons placed on each side of the ship. They were going for power house tactics.

Klank and Sasa, who were in their own modified ship,if it could be called that, sat patiently waiting for the 'Ready, Set." Not much was needed to build a mobile weapon against his enemy. The vessel was only twice the size of a canoe. Metal rails were built for Klank to grab hold of when things get funky, and the Brazier he snatched was firmly secured at the front. The flame, almost eternal, burned brilliantly and big. In his hand, opposite Sasa, he carried a wooden spear doused in oil. At the back of the ship were three fan wheels. One facing straight back, the other two facing diagonally to the left and right. He had already explained to Sasa what they were for, and given her her job for the games.

"Looks like the crews are all set," GM finally announced. "It's looking to be an interesting battle." The crowd roared. "ARE YOU READYYY?" They cheered louder, sending a light shockwave through Arcadia. "GO!"

The big ships were slow to start, but the chaos was not. Three of the ship instantly fired cannons in an attempt to wipe out others off the bat. Only one sank, and its crew vanished. Klank's vessel, which he named "Little Warrior," was safe from the cannons at such a close distance. Once the others got out to sea, Little Warrior took off. The crowd gasped at its speed. Sasa was pumping the fan wheels, playing them like a DJ. It was then Klank yelled, "RESONATE!" Suddenly his head was throbbing.

"I SAID NO," Sasa yelled. Klank had tried to convince her to respond to commands, but she firmly denied. She grunted.

"Please?" Klank acted excited. "Amp me up," he begged with a smile.

"You better not screw this up."

youtube.com/watch?v=lsV500W4BHU

Sasa's chain rattled violently as it unraveled completely from Klank's arm to put more force into the fan wheel. When she did, the vessel burst forward and the bouncing shipwright held onto his goggles. He wrapped the blade end around his waist and hooked it around the chain.

"WOOOOO!" the shout was nearly drowned out by the wind blowing passed. When they approached a ship, Klank yelled out, "LEFT," to which Sasa sent out a focused shockwave to the left wheel. The act caused Little Warrior to back flip into the air with a slight twist. It reached deck height, and when position called for it, Klank duplicated the oil doused spear into his other hand, releasing the first. It flew through the fire raging in the brazier, and continued towards the target ship. He did this multiple times within one flip and even when descending. Suddenly there was a trail of fire leading from deck and down the side. The ship, riddled with old wood, fueled the fire at an absurd rate. It wasn't long before the crew abandoned ship.

"One down," Klank confirmed.

"That's two ships down, you idiot."

"Personal score," Klank replied jovially. "Hit the ramp."

Sasa forced the middle wheel to gain speed. A loud ringing echoed in the air, alerting the world that the wheel had made its judgement, which GM called out, "Dragon's Breath."

All through out the arena, cones of fire exploded. The flames lasted longer than expected, and one of the ships fell victim. None of this, however, stopped Klank from his plan. He saw a ship, encased in thin metal strips, just beyond the wooden incline. Little warrior made a loud bang, followed by an echoing scratch when it hit. The arena was huge from way up in the air, and Klank could see the remaining ships. His target was the one below. He duped a dozen oil spears and tossed them overboard. After that, Sasa was unwrapped from his waist. The chain arced over the edge, clanging loudly.

"BOOMING SPEARS!" Klank yelled.

"NNOOOOOO!" Sasa was pissed, but she was already sending out the pulse.

The tumbling spears took flight like each of them were shot from a cannon. They made loud thunks when making contact. Oil trailed down. When they landed safe and sound back on water, Sasa bonked him on the head again, this time a lot harder. He wrapped the blade back around his waist and had Sasa turn Little Warrior to face the ship. Klank wound up, holding one spear forward to guide his throwing spear. He raised the forward to put an arc on his toss. He let loose and watched the trail of fire fly. The enemy ship went up in flames. As it did, the wheel made a judgement.

"NO DEVIL FRUITS!" The crowd went wild.

"OH, COME ON!" Klank cursed.

The blunt end of Sasa, glowing and pissed, looked at the shipwright. "You son of a..." she was cut off and dropped to the ground.

Little Warrior slowed to dead stop. Klank was left with a single spear, a useless Sasa, his All-tool, and a single cigarette. He took the smoke out of his goggle band and lit it with the brazier fire.

"God Dammit!" he said as he dragged. He watched a ship in the distance turn towards his. An explosion echoed and within seconds, a black blob closed in.

"God fuckin dammit!" He finished his cigarette just before the cannon ball hit.

“Look,” Isaac shouted to the squirrel, his hands so close it looked like he was shaking the sense into him, “we don’t have time for this petty argument! Did I sell you out? Yes. Having I been blaming weird stuff that happens on the ship on you? Without a doubt! But that’s not what’s important right now,” He yelled to the squirrel.

Since the match, Isaac has been stuck in his cell with peanut, a fiery companion to his icy acquaintance. The girl could understand Peanut just fine, but it seemed to be an acquired skill, as all he could see was the animal defensively perched on two legs, mouth squeaking like a toy, and arms violently protesting.

Isaac through up his hands in protest, doing a quick circle of the room before coming back, kneeling down. “I messed up, okay.” He was hoping for sympathy, but the squirrel merely crossed his arms and looked to the wall spitefully. “I did something, and now someone I care about is could pay for that. I know you love Sierra, you wouldn’t follow her if you didn’t. Well, that’s how Sasa and I are too, and if something happens to her, because I was being an idiot, then death would be too good for me.”

Peanut peaked and eye over, watching his face with his creepy eyes, the only part of him not ablaze.

Isaac sat down, in an attempt to conserve some energy for the next match, but the truth was, he was nervous without Sasayaki, and he knew GM would use his penalty to his advantage. “I have to get back to her, let her know she’s not alone, get everyone out of this place.” Isaac thought about what would happen to the others if they lost, and knew GM would not likely let a single person off the hook. He was the kind of man that used all of his pieces to win, and everyone he traveled with had a unique value. “Do this for me, and you can ask any one favor of me, no questions asked. I’d like to say I could win these games alone, but if I take a single hit in the next match, I’m dead, for real.”

Something he said must have peaked the critter’s interest, bring him down to all fours, cocking his head, then finally raising an arm to raise two little fingers.

“Deal,” he pronounced, giving the squirrel a before sealing deal with a heated bumping of fists.

--------------------------

The doors opened, Isaac and peanut walking out side by side with a fierce determination. Surrounding them was a forest, with patches of light shining through the greenery. Manhunt, he imeadly identified, knowing there was only a handful of games the GM would employ specificly to take advantage of his one hit KO penalty. If he had to guess, modifications would be made to maximize his disadvantage state, such as no Haki, all while using Isaacs field of employment as excuse to justify fairness. The illusion of fairness was important, and dare he admit, the jaded man was a master at making you believe you could win.

“It’s looking like a senerio seven, wouldn’t you say?”

The squirrel looked up and flashed four fingers, still too stubborn to side with him fully.

Isaac looked up, waiting for the projector. “Guess we’ll find out, he smiled.”

GM appeared in the sky, his face particularly smug, with Bighead mumbling something off in the background offscreen. “Welcome to round two, contestants. We have prepared a classic for you all today, a game of manhunt!” The crowd roared, manhunt being a fan favorite since the first days of the games. “We decided to spice things up this time around, upping the player count to twenty five, while initiating zombie rules, tur-“

“Cut the crap you coward,” a familiar voice screamed, the camera shaking and hitting the ground, forcing everyone to turn their head sideways to see Klank to the side of Bighead, stoic as ever, and Sasayaki being restrained by two half beasts with security shirts. “Isaac is going rip you up for this. He is going to chew you up and spit you out like the day-old jerky that you are. He could take all of those damn cowards if you let him. ALL OF THEM.”

The team struggled to hold her back as his eyes glued to the screen, fighting back every muscle in him that want to move, to leap up unit the sky and yank her out of the screen, running away from the damned island for good. He could see peanut yelling gibberish at the screen, expressing every emotion he felt inside, Isaac turning to him and forcing his heavy jaw open. “Forget numbers,” he told his riled-up partner, flames bursting out his fur and past him. “Doomsday.”

The crew finally managed to get Sasayaki in order, Klank whispering something to her as they did, a dynamic he seemed to miss in the previous game. “What an idea,” the GM thought out loud. “Isaac and Peanut verse the remaining contestants. We could call the game, fugitive.” The crowd roared in approval, always thirsty for a new game. “Put and hour on the clock, and if the pair can evade capture, they will advance, if caught, the remaining 23 contestants will move on to the next round.”

“Quite a disadvantage,” Bighead blurted out behind them, a grin stealing away any additional modifiers, he could tack on. “I bet it would even more interesting of only the fugitives could use their haki.”

GM intended to object, but the crowd was out of their seats, the screams permeating the room which they were held. “Fu-ga-tive,” the shouted. “FU-GA-TIVE.”

He was impressed at the captain’s subtle manipulation, a side of him he had not seen in the days that passed, and smirked. He also caught a glimpse of Klank, at first appearing agitated with the plan, Isaac realizing that was wrong when he followed his eyeline down to the cigarette that was out of his reach. “Would you look at that,” Isaac smiled through his tenseness, the strike hitting GM, “a game just for me! This moment could go down in history, don’t you think?”

“Surely it will,” the man teethed, “but remember, the sudden death modifier is now active for this round, and I have decided to provide Den Den communicators to the hunters.”

“Fine by me,” he winked to the crowd, the stands reacting with a vigorous wave surged around the arena.

Sasayaki’s chain squirmed free just before it began, her blunted end reaching the front camera. “The hunter becomes the hunted, but can they really beat him at his own game? Will he run and hide, or take to the offensive? Is this man truly without fear!? Let’s hear it for the one, the only, the untouchable, Isaac.”

“ISAAC. ISAAC. ISAAC,” the crowd chanted, momentum building in his favor as Peanut looked up to him, both of them exchanging a look of confidence as Sasayaki started a song in the distance, Bighead knowing the words to this one, it’s lyrics piecing GM’s patients.

youtu.be/Mj_hApbc5qg

“Begin,” GM announced, the projector shutting off, followed by the faintness of noises in the distance. He couldn’t hear anything nearly as well as Sasayaki, but Isaac had still fined tuned his sense to a level suiting of a respected bounty hunter over the years, his only hurdle being his motivation to chase targets larger than he believed he could handle.

“The song,” he told peanut, on guard, “of course. Thanks Sasa.”

Isaac tapped his hand to his hips to get Peanut’s attention, the squirrel clearly wanting to rush the enemy head on like his companion would, reluctantly following Isaac’s retreat as he headed deeper into the forest, the crowd contemplating his next action as he vanished in the tree line.

“Here,” he finally said, finding some smaller trees, replanted from destruction in previous games. “This one,” he tapped with his foot, the squirrel quickly melting the base clean through, then working diligently on the other side as it flipped, forging a staff that the bounty hunter spun in his fingers, then gripped tightly. “Now to gather the rest of the supplies,” he instructed, both of them scourging the area while keeping the sound as limited as possible.

-----------------------

The clocked ticked down, ten minutes already expired as the group of hunters finally finished their plans and split up. It was easy to keep an eye on at least twenty of them from across the forest, but the remaining five we much better at concealing themselves, concealing their intent, a trait that was critical in surviving the new world. It didn’t help how spread they forced his vision, the ones broken off being the targets he was most concerned about. “Showtime,” he whispered, finalizing his plans at a speed that would have made Klank proud. “Just like we plan,” he reminded Peanut, who had already taken to a sprint towards the main group, slowly advancing forward with their weapons held firm, and eyes on every corner within sight, moving at a snail’s pace.

A flare of red darted out of the bush with the ferocity of a wild boar and singed the first victim upon landing on a lower calf, molten teeth melting into the hunter’s skin. The others reacted uniformly, turning to the animal and swinging wildly for a strike while Isaac cracked a straggler on the temple with the blunted end of his staff, the man falling into his arm before being dragger off into the bushes. The others chased the squirrel, giving him the opportunity to snag Peanut’s first victim, whacking her on the side of the head, and dragging her off in the same manor.

Five more minutes passed, and another seven fell in the same manor, Isaac discovering that it was much easier to dump them in random locations before rounding them up in his makeshift cell, the doors that the contestants waited in, the same doors that qualified as a DQ when entering. One more hunter feel to the tactic before the Den Dens instructed a full retreat, Isaac choosing to keeping the contestant as leverage, gagging them with a torn shirt and dragging them back to the starting area with Peanut toeing the line, eyes glaring at the bait with an eerie determination to return to their friend.

Twenty-five minutes had passed as the Den Dens came back into play, obvious code words ringing through the forest, making even Peanut shake his head. “Blue lion. Come in Blue lion. Do you read me?”

“Lion pouched,” another voice explained. “Silver Fox and Pocket Gerbil intercepted; casualties were astronomical. Lost eyes. I repeat, lost eyes.”

The whole exchanged was ridiculous, the banter going on for a full minute before Isaac picked up the Den Den and put on his tough guy act. “I don’t know who you are, I don’t know why you’re here, but I can tell you something.. I have a particular set of skills, skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. Walk through your doors, and I will not pursue you, but if you don’t, I can promise you this.. I will hunt you, I will find you, and I will capture you. You can face the wheel now, or you can face it after I am done with you, but you will face it, nevertheless. I’ll be waiting for your answer.”

Once again, the crowd was on their feet as Isaac’s name was chanted through the forest. He tossed the Den Den up in the air, Peanut scorching it midair, setting light to the tree and signaling the others onto their location. The two vanished back into the forest, the sound of the wheeling spinning above as rest of the average contestant took their chances with the wheel, dishing out judgement piece by piece, leaving 5 opponents remaining, excluding his hostage, each closing in on the forest.

Forty minutes had passed when the first of five entered his sight, seeing a tied-up man in the middle of a clear opening. The man rushed in, face red with rage, lunging for the middle when his foot hit the trap, the ground caving in beneath him. The man let out a grunt as his arms and legs extended into wooden planks, perfectly catching himself before plunging below over the pit, yet still facing down.

“Cannonball,” Isaac yelled as he saw Peanut summersaulting off the tree, searing the devil fruit user’s back as the ball of flames collided with his neck, forcing him down and passed out with a crisp. “It’s super effective,” he winked, the crowd laughing.

A blade sliced to his side, drastically misjudging the distance between them, yet closing in closer with its next slash. Isaac retreated back, slinging his staff around to hit the blunted end of the blade with each wild strike, when he felt an arrow hit his chest, but no, not yet, but soon. Swiftly he spun to sweep the man’s legs with an unneeded flair, twirling the weapon as he came back up, an arrow nearly missing him from above. Once again, he saw an arrow land a clean shot, and what came after, forcing him to retreat behind a tree, the another as he saw himself taking another hit, only this time from another archer.

“Little help,” he called out, poking the staff out around the corner, only for it to get hit by another arrow, wedged deeply into the wood. “Left. Left. Right. Do a barrel roll, he instructed the squirrel, dodging each arrow as he made his way behind the tree. “If you can take out one of those archers, I might be able to deal with the other after the sword guy, but we have to move fast, and that means operation KABOOM.”

Peanut put up a protest, but he knew better than most what was at stake. “Listen,” Isaac yelled, waging around his finger like a sword. “If you want to see her again, you’re going have to be willing to do some crazy shit, okay.” He lowered the staff, the swordsman regaining his stance. “Now fly like the wind, Peanut,” he yelled, lunging the squirrel into the sky before rushing out of cover, catching two arrows with his staff be jabbing the swordsman in the guy, his reach long enough to attacking without hesitation. Two more arrows were inbound, yet neither needed to be evaded, as their aim was offset by a blinding white light and wave of heat that almost would have scorched him, had he not rushed to the swordsman to use him as a shield.

The full force of the man’s weight was on him, Isaac tossing his limp body to the side and stepping away from the flames that were overtaking the forest. “What the hell was that,” he yelled at the squirrel, racing back to check on Isaac, yet bickering his gibberish in protest. “Ohhhh, I’m guessing you think this is my fault. I wanted you to do a little explosion, not drop mother bomb on my head. You could have killed me.” The squirrel continued, more furious than before, no more understood. “What.. was that a finger? Ohhh, we are throwing those out now, well guess what, we’re done! You thought we were going to get along?” he yelled, Peanut looking to the side in disbelieve be resuming his high-pitched gibberish.

“No need to fight,” a man, a fishman, more specifically yelled, his arms crossed with spite. “You should save your energy, because trust me, you’ll need it to take me down.”

The two exchanged a look, figuring out who was going to challenge the man first, when Isaac rolled his eyes, flicking up the staff with his foot. “Fine,” he said, throwing the staff passed the man and at a partially singed rope behind, sending two boulders to each side, the fishman catching each with a hand. He seemed to take the test of strength as a challenge, predictably missing the point. Just as the man flexed to send the boulders back, Peanut’s fiery feet connected with his chest, sending the fishman flying back into a tree. Isaac looked around as the fishman was stunned, pointing at another tree and lifting his finger at an angle, peanut scorching through. The large maple started to bend, wailing as it buckled under its weight and falling towards its victim.

Laughs were heard as the screen once again screen appeared, revealing Bighead booming with delight behind GM. “It looks like Fugitive has its first champion. Congratulation, Isaac.”

Not only did GM waste his best chance at easily eliminating him, we wasted more contestants then he should have in the process. Isaac also gained the advantage of popularity, the crowd roaring his name, and a new hashtag appear on the monitor: #GD, Game Destroyer.

He felt the reluctance of GM to smash the hammer to the ground, and took the moment to take one more peak at Peanut before they both disappeared. “I still haven’t forgiven you,” he declared, the squirrel lunging at him before he vanished safely and into his next room.

Siera sits awaiting the next trial in her dark cold room wondering what had happened to her friend peanut. She was hoping that after the trial and once the cheers had finally died down that he would appear back in the room safe and sound; but before she could finish that thought the door creaked open blinding her with the light coming through the door. She stepped through the other side of the door to find her self standing in another room and a very bright spotlight hitting her in the face. she could hear the crowd roaring from the stadium but she couldn't see them. There were cameras hung up everywhere on the walls and the a large table in the center of the room with a tall skinny man dressed in formal wear standing on the other side of the table.

She looked at the man with a judgmental face because he was very creepy looking with his white dress shirt, black vest, and black tie on with a black over coat like he was prepared to go to a funeral. The man him self must have been 6'ft tall and yet probably only weighed 100 pounds because he looked like nothing but skin and bones. He had a big smile on his face showing his long yellow and black colored teeth which just gave Siera the chills.

"come on over little girl the game is about to begin" the man said in a slow and cringing sounding voice. She looked around and didn't see any other contestants yet so she was puzzled at the type of game the GM has set up for her this time. She walked over to the table and sat down in the middle chair noticing the 2 other stools on her right and to her left side wondering when the other contestants would be showing up. Then all of the sudden instead of them coming in through the door of there rooms they somehow just materialized out of thin air. She almost jumped back out of her seat but she held her cool and gazed around the room looking at the contestants.

They were all men this time the 2 to her right looked like older men maybe in there 40's but dressed nicely so they couldn't have been pirates and if they were then they were the best dressed pirates she has ever seen before. The guy sitting next to her on her left looked like he was a little younger then the other two men but he was wearing the classic pirate uniform with the long brown pants, the white t-shirt with the center of the shirt open down to his stomach showing a broad hairy chest that disgusted Siera when she saw it.

The man at the end of the table on her left looked like he was around her age and he was staring at her from the second he materialized in the room. He had a brown hat on with a wide rim circling the hat and tilted downward on the mans head so you could just see his eyes underneath it. The man wasn't wearing a shirt and his body was covered in muscles and tattoo's. His hair cam down to his shoulders and was black as night. He shot Siera a grin as if he was trying to get under her skin before the games began but she paid no mind to the mans antics.

"Let the games begin!!!" the GM yelled. Siera looked around because it sound like he was in the room with her but it must have been coming from the speakers in the corners of the room because she couldn't see him anywhere.

"Today we are going to be playing a special game but instead of me telling you all how this is going to go down I'd like to introduce you to the Dealer Mr. Reaper!" The old creepy looking guy Standing in front of her grinned as the lights light up and focused on him. " Today's game will be an interesting one" the old man said in a slow deep voice making him seem even more creepy.

"the rules are simple, we will be playing 5 card poker today, except with a little twist you see" then all of the sudden chips started to materialize in front of them only everyone had different amount of chips appear in front of them. the two men to her right had the same amount of chips as each other but only half of what Siera had. the man sitting next to her on he left had a little less then her and the shirtless man had exactly the same amount of chips as she did. she looked puzzled as to why the amount of chips were different.

"You may have noticed that not everyone at the table has the same amount of chips though, that's because instead of betting money they were to bet there lives. Yes each chip that they lose will take away years of there life. Last person alive or at least able to play will win."

"Well then lets see who is the first to turn to dust HAHAHA" the Gm laughed and the crowd cheered him on as he shouted
"alright reaper let the game of life begin" the dealer starts to hand out cards starting on his left until everyone has 5 cards laid out in front of them. Siera looked at her hand and noticed that she had a pair of 8's and a king queen and jack. She never like to take the easy route so she looks and the dealer and puts her pair of 8's down and say's "ill take two". the rest of the people at the table took their time deciding what cards they wanted to sub out or even if they wanted too. The man to her left let out a big laugh when he got his three cards he switched and looked at the dealer with a big smile on his face. clearly the man never knew that deception was a key part in the game of poker.

the man put his hands around all of his chips and pushed them to the center of the table. Once his hands left the last chip she noticed that the mans skin on his face started to droop off of the muscle and before she knew it he was grabbing his chest and let out a weak cry before he turned to a pile of dust. The dealer laughed and said " be careful now when you put all of your years up into the pot that means that you've got nothing left to hold onto HAHAHAHA" Siera sneered at the man as she watched him dust off the mans remains from the table removed his chips and moved onto the man sitting to his left.
"So whats its gonna be fella you want to go all in too"
"I think ill raise you ten years" the man said putting the chips in the center of the table. The man barely changed at all accept for maybe some wrinkles starting to form around his eyes. the man after him called his bet of tens years and the aging was definitely more noticeable because his started to get dots on his hands and face like when your skin was starting to turn because its past it's expiration date. the man to her right folded but Siera figured he was gonna do that due to his depressing look on his face when he got his 2 new cards from the dealer.
Siera took the bet and put her chips into the pile in the center of the table. She didn't see any noticeable changes to her body but she could definitely feel them. it was like someone had put a 20lbs. weight on her chest and she started to feel tired just from sitting there. Everyone started to reveal there hands. The man on the far right side of the table showed his hand first. He had two pairs of 5's and King's and he looked proud of them. Then Siera dropped her hand on the table and revealed that she had a straight of all high cards. The man with the pairs bellowed out angry that he lost to a girl but Siera just sat there calmly with a grin on her face. Then the man with the hat looked at her and said
"sorry little girl but it looks like this hand is gonna be mine" and he dropped a flush onto the table and she tossed her cards at the dealer awaiting her next hand. When she did a rush of cold air washed over the table and the temperature in the room dropped 10 degree's. The game went on for a while since the man to her right was betting lite trying to conserve his chips and stay in the game as long as possible. The man at the right end of the table only last 5 rounds before he was forced to put his last chip in and turned to dust crying and cursing at the gm before he turned to dust.
Eventually the man on Siera's right also came to lose too because his fears of committing to a hand got to him over time and eventually he also was forced to put in his last chip crying as well but this time the man told his family if they were watching that he loved them and then poof he turned to dust leaving a weird old person smell lingering over the table. Over time the room was getting colder and colder to the point were the dealer was even chattering his teeth.

"can someone check the thermostat in this place and close any damn windows in here it is freezing" the dealer said with his teeth still chattering. The man with the hat looked calm and like the cold didn't even phase him. Siera was concerned by this but she knew she had no other option then to keep on playing and the man with the hat held most of the chips. The dealer starts to deal another hand out to the players trying not to drop the cards because his hands were so cold. Siera looked at her hand and noticed that she had a 5,6,7,8 of clubs and a jack of spades. The man with the hat showed no emotions when he got his cards and calmly set one card onto the table.

Siera also set her jack of spades on the table and picked up her new card to find out that she got a 9 of clubs giving her a straight flush. She held back the smile she had on her face and knew that if she was gonna make a comeback she was gonna have to go big with this one. It was the man with the hats turn to bet first on this one and to Siera's surprise the man put in enough chips in the pot so that Siera would have to go all in to match him. She looked at the man with a rude glare and thought about what she was gonna do since her hand was so good she thought there would be no chance that the man could beat her.
After a couple minutes the dealer looked and her and said "Well are you gonna just sit there or are you gonna make up your mind" Siera looked at the man with fire in her eyes letting him know that she doesn't like to be rushed and then all the sudden the temperature drastically dropped in the room and she pushed all of her chips into the center of the table. The moment that her hands left the chips she froze her body into ice negating the aging effect and stood there frozen with here eyes still able to move ever so slightly and left a smirk on her face frozen in place.
"what a nifty little trick, that might just save you, i hope you can hold out until the end of this turn." the dealer said smiling at her. The dealer grabbed her hand still holding eye contact with Siera and squinting at her. "so your the reason its so damn cold in here, i should melt that ice with a torch for making me stand in the cold all day, but i don't make the rules so you lucked out this time little girl"
he turned her cards over to reveal that she indeed had a straight flush. The dealer laughed out loud "So this is why you risked it for the biscuit, That's quite the hand i can see why you would resort to such a dirty trick; well lets see what you've got and i hope its good enough to beat her because she looks like she needs to be taught a lesson" The creepy old man grinned looking at the man with the hat as he waited for him to reveal his hand. The man turned over his cards and said " sorry girl but it's not my time to go yet it looks like your gonna have to take the L on this one."
The man reveals that he had a Royal Flush in his hand. "HAHAHAHA Great" the creepy dealer shouted as he pushed all of the chips in the center on the table over to him. "Well it looks like we have a winner!!" The GM said with a big smile on his face as Siera stood there frozen solid Awaiting what would happen to her next. "Can i have for my office!, I could use her for ice cubes until the death sentence is carried out" The dealer said looking hopefully at the GM that was on the TV in the background.
"As much as i would love to i'm afraid she is going to have to wait for her sentencing instead with the rest of her crew, But if you want you can have a front row seat to her execution" The dealer clapped in agreement and Siera was teleported to the room with big head and the rest of the crew were she was able to break out of the ice and find chains wrapped around her arms. Still being thankful for the fact that she didn't have to go threw what the other men in the room had to. "That was a close one" she thought to her self as she sat there awaiting the next set of games.

The lights hit his face as the door open, piercing his anxieties for the challenge to come, a feeling that had been building since learning about his team, knowing that the rest of the games were all on Peanut, or himself. He hoped that he wouldn’t have to put too much work in this adventure, but worrying about the well being of others was both new and exhausting. He wished he could fade into the background, find a hole in GM’s sight and slip away, but he couldn’t; Isaac was trapped.

The light let up as his eyes adjusted, a nearly managed garden begin the first thing to appear in his vision. Flowers of every color decorated the lawn of a large marble mansion with architecture that was not unlike those represented in old lore of forgotten lands that creature such as Sasayaki inhabited. The door was doubled, a deep cherrywood, and neat granite slabs led up to the door, Isaac knocking cautiously as he strolled up.

“Fashionably late as always,” a young woman remarked upon opening the door, his heart sinking into his chest, “but I guess you always were on your own schedule, weren’t you, Isaac.”

He stood there, looking her over, much more grown than the last he had seen. “Your ears have really started to grow in,” he joked, knowing Sheila had always been self-conscious about them. Even for a mink, hers had sprouted out of head at a length so long they had a tendency to flop down onto her short chestnut hair, complimenting a caramel swirl coat. “What are we doing here?” he asked, looking around for the trap. “I thought Georgy would be doing everything in his power to destroy me.”

“I doubt he could do that,” she smiled, inching back from door to let him through, closing it behind him and beckoning him to follow her through entry to the next room, the mansion becoming more luxurious as they walked through. “We all know he has his weakness, ones that you always manage to exploit, but that all stops today.” She leaned over, her lips on his cheeks, before feeling something cool on his back. “You see, Isaac,” she said with a smirk, “my father may be too blinded to see your weakness, but I know exactly how to beat you.”

The door behind her opened, featuring a large room filled with some of the most attractive individuals he had ever seen, all standing in line, eyes darting between each other like hungry animals, ready to rip at the flesh. “Sheila, wait,” he pleaded, realizing she was preparing his microphone, and hers as well. “There has to be another way.”

Anger flushed her eyes, giving her pause. “Good luck keeping that popularity, Songbird. By the time this is over, the crowd will be begging for your head,” she smirked, just before switching the mics on and leading them both onto the platform with the others.

“Welcome, everyone here and those watching at home, to a very special treat! We got all of your snails and we heard you, you want more love, am I right!?” A man, well, half man half puppy, uncreatively naming himself Puppylove, declared, his tail wagging behind him vigorous. A screen appeared behind him, and on the bottom messages from those at home scrolled across the screen, the viewers already commenting on the slew of attractive faces. “I am happy to announce that while the games continue, we will run our very own show over the course of the next week, the highlights of each day being show every night! But of course, this wouldn’t be the great pirate games without a twist.”

“Winner is the one who can lick most whipped cream off from GM’s ass,” he thought to himself, his face dropping at the very real possibility of something similar making it into the show. “Umm, Mr. Puppy,” he asked, hand awkwardly raised. “I think I might be in the wrong place.”

The crowd gasped, a sound he had yet to hear, the dogman tilting his head and rearing an awe from the audience. “Quite the contrary, Silverfox, a name the new world has snailed in, you have been specialty select from the remaining contestant by our viewers.” He motioned to the crowd, and back to the monitor. “We asked, and you responded,” he pointed to the camera, “20 strangers, forced to find love in the most dangerous place of all! There will be obstacles along the way, drama to overcome, and dates unlike anything you’ve ever seen, but I promise you, it will all be worth it in the end. Open your hearts, and all of you will not only make it out of seven days’ worth of trials, you will find your soulmates.”

The crowd awed again, Isaac not learning from the first time he raised his hand. “Uhhhh, Mr. Puppy.. What happens if we, I don’t know, don’t find love?”

Everything went silent, the constants all looking at him with the sort of disgust that came only from weeks of brainwashing. “Well then,” the dogman spoke, ears down and tone hushed, “you face the fate of all those who close their hearts.. a cold and miserable fate.” He looked back up to the crowd, gaining power in his voice. “Not only that, the world must feel your love,” he explained, pointing to the monitor. “Be the bottom couple at the end of each day, and the divorce wheel will judge you. Only three couples will make it to the end, where a surprise will be waiting!” The crowd cheered again; names already being shipped together at the bottom of the screen. “Two hours remain before the first licking ceremony, good luck!”

Dogs of Love: Night One

“So,” Issac asked, awkwardly leaning against the counter, two women more interested in their bottles of wine than his posture, “you girls like fighting?”

The one on the left laughed so hard her wine came up and through her nose. “You looked taller on the monitor,” the other nodded. “and you might look cuter if you did something with that hair. Who cuts that?”

He put his hand over his shoulder, but there was no one to hold back. Isaac had spent so many days with Sasayaki, that being this long without her made him bare. “My,” he stumbled, reaching for the comfort of marble behind him, “my friend cuts it for me. She likes the way it looks.”

Wine girl laughed again, reloading with another gulp. “Come on, this kids a loser,” she loudly whispered to her friend. “Let’s get someone with muscles!” she hickuped, stumbling into a soft ivory sofa as she turned around, rolling over it with fashion. It was the fifth girl her talked to, a fact that would have been shameful if not the most successful interaction of the night.

Half an hour remained until the licking ceremony, and Isaac was drained. Winning the appeal of a crowd was one thing, but opening up to a complete stranger, especially without backup, was impossible. What made matters worse with Sheila, pleasantly watching from afar as she lured in another man with a mask of insecurity that made any decent hero want to intervein. It was pitiful, and he had forgot why they had what they had all together, but she didn’t, waiting until the clock dwindled down to approach him. “What’s wrong?” she asked, reaching behind him to a stuffed shell, bringing in the plate to avoid any semblance of interest. “Feeling a little limp without your blade?”

“I know you’re pissed,” he teethed, looking at the monitor, the words #YouGirlsLikeFighting blasting across the screen, “but isn’t there a better way to do this? I mean, it wasn’t that bad, was it?”

The faint sound of shells grinding into the marbled drilled into his bones. “I told you I wanted to get serious, meet my family, and you told me you wanted an enchilada.”

“I was hungry!” he defended.

“Then you stole my ship, left me stranded on that island, and kidnapped my butler.”

Is that how it ended? Isaac had done some crazy things for berries in the past, but most of them started to blur together. At the time, it all seemed like the right thing to do, and as long and he could move on with Sasayaki, that was all that mattered. He imagined what she would say to him now, how she would silence him and jump right into the conversation when he needed to, but his cracks were much more apparent in her absence. “I was just looking for some quick cash,” he answered, a drink instantly hitting his face. By the time he could wipe his eyes clear, he saw #IWasHungry across the screen, instantly realizing that it didn’t matter how much he whispered, the mics picked up everything.

“I gave you everything,” Sheila cried, tears running off her fur like they were genuine. “And this is how you treat me?” Three men came to her aid, two at each side, and a third ready to pounce, yet staying in line as Sheila had her hand raised. “All you know how to do is use people, and for what? You never even touched me. I can’t stand to look at you.. This.. This heart husk of a man,” she sobbed, her face buried in another man’s chest.

She was right, but not fully. Isaac was manipulative for sure, but Sheila had obsessed over this moment for so long that she actually became better at it, and he knew he could no longer win. He thought of the burden that would be resting on peanut’s shoulders as 10 more minutes remained, when the unforgettable sound of a karaoke machine started across the room, an almost familiar face cradling the mic with spunk.

Her face unraveled as the beat hit the floor, all eyes on the woman as thing strands unwounded reveal a pale beauty beneath, and a face he had not yet forgot. “Pen-“

A thin noodle shushed his lips as she swung her hips closer to him with the beat, vocals unexpecting powerful and soulful. Sheila went to interrupt, walking through the woman as she unwound and reassembled, her arms playfully on him, the woman offering a wink before tossing him on the couch and continuing her song, the tag, #Heartbreaker, infesting the screen. Normally, Isaac would want no part in the display, but his only metric for doing something right at the moment was Sheila’s face, urging his involvement with the shifty woman. Isaac did his best to smile, his body being forced down as Penne slinked on top of him, waving up and yanking him to his feet in a spin that brought him to her face. “Well?” she asked playfully, her body tucked tightly against him. She stared at his eyes, then down, then his eyes, then down, confusing him. Whatever she wanted, he couldn’t decipher it.

“I-“ he attempted, cut off by another noodle to the lips. He was nervous, out of his element, unsure what the woman wanted, when the comfort of pressure against his waist returned, a pale shape of Sasa peaking out over his shoulder. It wasn’t her, he knew, but even the illusion was enough to clear his mind, his anxiety, understand what she meant as Noodle Sasayaki nudge his head down and pushed him closer, words spelled out in noodles on her chest, words that terrified, but the only words that could save this man in this desperate hour.

Hesitantly he grazed her face with his left hand, Noodle Sasayaki guiding his right to Penne’s waist, Isaac looking down and biting his lip finally getting his first sentence. “Fuck it,” he declared, pressing his mouth against unsuspectingly firm lips, his own lingering before pulling back.

“I’m not afraid of a challenge,” Penne glared over to Sheila. “I’ll tame you yet, Heartbreak.”

It was then that the woman licked his cheek, an action he saw far before it happened, yet lacking the skill the to stop. He went to pull back, when the lights flashed, Puppylove returning from his dog house with a paper tongue, pinning it on Isaac, which didn’t make the moment any clearer. “Congratulation,” he started, pushing Isaac and Penne together. You two have won the first impression lick, giving you immunity tonight! How about that!?”

“Yes,” GM’s voice broadcasted on the monitor. “Despite a low appeal early on, it seems the world has snailed #Wetnoodle and #Silvefox together. You’re safe tonight, but is this.. pairing one that can last? I guess we will have to wait and see,” he half smirked, a level of confidence that was terrifying. Were they in the endgame now? This couldn’t be it, could it? Regardless, the two were excused, taking off their mics and entering a new room, a small room, with only a twin sized bed for the both of them.

“Hop in,” Penne teased, noodling over to the bed. “We have a lot to talk about.”

“What is he planning?” Isaac questioned, trying to piece it together as he paced in the room. “He is too confident, and letting his daughter join the games? He has to have a backup plan.”

Penne dropped against the bed, her body squeezing apart before returning. “You’re never going to win, you know. At least, not like this,” she sighed. “That out there, that was pathetic, and if I didn’t kiss you, you’d be stardust by now.”

“I never asked you to do that,” he said, sliding his back against the wall. “I just, need some time.”

“Screw time,” he laughed, disassembling off the bed and pinning him against the wall. “What you need is me, and that’s painfully obvious. Without a partner and crime, you mine as well be the wet noodle.”

“I’ve never done this, okay!”

Her eyes rolled to the ceiling. “Juggle girls? Yeah, that was painfulllly obvious.”

“No,” he stumbled. “I.. well.. I’ve never actually kissed a girl before today.”

Penne perked up, almost excited. “Never? Not even with Miss Bitchy?”

“I mean, what’s the point? Doesn’t get you much further on the sea, right?”

The woman remind silent for a moment, but he could see something brewing inside that squishy head of hers. Her hands came together, her face filling with color. “Perfect! This just might work,” she smirked.

Klank sat there in his chains taking a puff from the cigarette dangling in his mouth. He was forced to go without for a while, and that caused him to be rather unpleasant company. His constant yelling convinced the guards to succumb to the shipwrights only need. He was on his fourth cigarette now because of it. Patiently, and most importantly, quietly, Klank watched as Sierra played her hands. One after another, the men around her fell to dust, and he wished he was there instead of her. During his days with The Kraken Pirates, he was known to rule the table. His old crew went so far as to team up on him and even stack the deck. It never mattered. Klank always won, mostly because of his already unnatural win streak coupled with his ability to silently intimidate his opponent during the game. He chuckled when Sierra revealed her devil fruit as she cast her last hand. "Neat little trick," he said aloud.

Bighead, with his unending smile, nodded in agreement. "It won't help her win, though."

Klank also nodded in agreement. "She is good at keeping her emotions in check, but she doesn't know how to play the mind game."

Bighead laughed. "A rookie mistake," he bellowed. "At least we still have Isaac and Peanut and Phin."

At that moment, Sierra appeared in chains and completely frozen. Klank could feel the cold radiating from her as she broke out of her life saving binds.

After she spoke, Klank looked at her and said, "I gotta teach you some things, Kid."

Before Sierra could reply, the screen flipped to the next game, and the first thing depicted, was Isaac, looking around. Hashtags rolled across the bottom as the explanation began. Klank snickered at the thought of being stuck in his chains for a whole week. His frustration grew when his smoke met its end. He looked to the guard closest to him and without hesitation, he planted a cigarette in his mouth and lit it. He smiled as the guard walked away, seemingly defeated.

Sasa became a little more lively, throwing out comments at Isaac's failed attempts. Klank could tell she kind of hoped he would fail all together. That would mean he would be in this room with her, and they could hash a plan to escape.

The Captain and the shipwright laughed hysterically when Isaac asked two girls if they liked fighting. It was clear to them the lone hunter had no idea what he was doing. This went on for a while and hope for The Bighead Pirates seemed to dwindle. It looked up however, when the girl from one of Isaac's earlier trials appeared and took the lead. Klank glanced over at the weapon to gauge her reactions. He was not displeased. Jealousy was obvious in all her flailing. The guards restraining her struggled.

Bighead, never losing that confident smile, sat silently. His faith was something to be taken seriously, and Klank couldn't help but think to himself, "He's gotta know something."

Dogs of Love: Night Three

youtu.be/MSch10KzYAo

The wind blew vigorously against his chest as an open shirt fishman serenaded the two, standing atop a floating platform that did not distract from the cliff side view. The moon hung low over the ocean, its reflection blessing the rustling waves with it’s pureness, reaching up the cliff and illuminating the side of Penne’s face. Isaac gentle rested his fork to the side of his entrée, a lightly glazed salmon with a small hint of some identified herb, and smiled at her, like he had rehearsed a hundred times when the production ended at the end of day two, and smiled. “Do you believe in gods?” he asked her.

Penne chucked. “I suppose I do,” she replied, neatly dabbing her face with the napkin and placing it gently back on her lap, leaning of the table and resting her head sweetly on her palm. “Why do you ask?”

Isaac looked off into the view, counting to five in his head before looking back. “You see, I never did before today, before this moment. I sailed seas only trust myself, my weapon, and the knowledge that the only thing I could look forward to in the end of this, this show, was a cold void that in many ways, matched my heart.” He looked down, careful to show the smallest hint of emotion, but not enough to overdo it.

“And?” Penne asked, lifting his head with a finger and gifting him a radiant smile, “what do you think now?”

“I,” he hesitated, “looking at you, here, in this place.” Isaac tapped his finger against the table, as he often did when was nervous. Penne had taught him many things in the two full days he spent with her, the most useful of which was the art of lying, something she excelled at greatly. All he had to do was believe it, believe that it was real, pretend he was someone else, somewhere else, and play his part like he could in any other situation. “This all can’t be an accident, can it? I may have only known you for a few days, but I have never felt this way about a person before. I keep playing it through again and again, but the only thing that makes sense, is divine intervention. Penne..” He made sure to add weight to his breaths, forcing each to come fasted until a red hue found his flesh. “It could only be one thing. L-“

A stray noodle found his lips. “lasagna,” she smiled.

“Lasagna,” he affirmed, seeing the words flood of hashtags hit the bottom of the elevated screen from the corner of his eye, confirming that they were the most interesting thing happening tonight, and also letting them know that both would be safe for the night.

Phin looked around at the contraption he was in. It was cube-shaped, roughly six feet between each wall. A single window directly in front of him revealed an open field. He could hear others talking close by. He tried to listen, but the constant flashing of various colors coming from the wall distracted him. The amount of color burning into Phin's eyes annoyed him. He took a deep breath and focused. He only heard muffled conversations. It didn't take long before a familiar, booming voice echoed into his personal box.

"And we have an oldy but goody here today, my beloved viewers. Welcome, those just tuning in. This here is, "PUZZLE MAYHEEMMM!" The crowd roared as the inside of Phin's box flashed faster. "Simple rules, as you all know. Six players, six puzzles, and six seconds per player turn. Where applicable, of course." GM spun around with grace and pointed to the stacked cubes. "Becuase we all know, they'll need more than six seconds to solve..." The crowd cheer above GM. He blushed at the thought. "The GM Puzzle," he finished.

Phin looked down to a holographic table that appeared before him. Atop, was scattered thousands of tiny jigsaw pieces. There were small mounds on top of mounds, and single pieces randomly spread. "Phin chuckled to himself. Then GM spoke agian.

"Obviously, we can't just have a normal puzzle," he paused. "This is the Pirate Games. In that top square there, is THE ONE, THE ONLY," The crowd finished the introduction.

"PPUUZZZZYY,"

Phin had no reaction.

"That's right,"GM continued. "Puzzy, eater of the puzzle puzzle fruit, able to take things he touches and turn them into a bizarre, mind numbing, hair tearing, scalp ripping PUZZLES." A large hologram of the puzzle that lay on every contestants table hovered before GM. "This same puzzle, is in physical form at Puzzy's table, he will alter this puzzle throughout the game, and that same alter effects everyone, as they are all working on a hologram linked to the physical puzzle. First two to finish, are safe, the others," he paused again, this time lowering his voice when he next spoke. "Get the wheel."

Without any warning, Gm flipped up in hand and pointed, "BEGIN!"

Most players frantically dug through their puzzle piles. There was no logic to how they were tackling their trial. They just hoped for the best. Phin, though, after shoveling through for a moment, raised his fist and slammed the table. He was surprised at how realistically the pieces reacted. The shock of the contact sent the jigsaws flying, they stuck to the walls all around phin, all spread out and easy to determine. This put him at ease, and he non-nonchalantly began grabbing all the edge pieces. After he organized them, he started solving. He could here the others murmuring to themselves, trying to talk their way through the puzzle. The voices were cut short when the faces of the pieces started moving. The picture, for the rest of the puzzle, would be in motion. This put Phin off, but he didn't panic. He kept with fitting edge pieces, taking quite some time before it all fit together.

"Fishman Phin, of The Bighead Pirates, has the most complete so far, but not by much. In close second, Jebidazer of The Lazer Pirates." The screen focused on the fishman, no doubt a crowd favorite, if not only because of Isaac. Phin ignored everything and continued. His eyes eventually began to blur the jigsaw pieces. A lot of them looking the exact same. He realized it was a change enforced by Puzzy.

"Any piece not yet touched by the players," GM explained, "Will change shape periodically." The crowd laughed and cheered.

Phin, wanting to jump out and take his shot at GM, kept solving. He knew in this place, where GM rules, he stood no chance if it wasn't actually IN the rules. The puzzle was nearing completion after so much time. GM's description held true. He was ready to rip his own head apart, but his temporary coolness prevailed. Finally he had finished, and was second to do so. Jebidazer was victorious in the end.

"Must be that "Lazer focus," Phin whispered to himself. It was then that he looked out the window and noticed the large screen. In repeating hashtag across the bottom, #MUSTBETHATLAZERFOCUS. Phin cursed.

Phin didn't seem to struggle on most of the puzzles presented to him during each round. The ones he did, he was beat only by Jebidazer. Many were eliminated and forced to face GM's judgement. "There is much more to him than I initially thought," Klank blurted as he watched the screen curiously. He spoke to no one in particular.

"Didn't take him for a man of the mind?" Bighead questioned with a smile.

"Not exactly," Klank replied. "Strong, quiet, straight to the point."

"If you payed more attention, you might have noticed how much he stands back and watches all of you."

"Any thoughts on why?"

"He's trying to decide if you're worthy."

Klank flicked his head toward one of the guards, who immediately came over and lit a cigarette and placed it in his mouth. He took a long drag. "You said 'watches all of you.' Are you telling me he doesn't observe you."

Bighead smiled bigger, which Klank didn't think was possible. "I radiate worthiness, haha"

Klank chuckled as he dragged again, thinking on the adventure thus far. He remembered a few moments on the ship when he would glance at Phin, and the fishman was already staring at him. He never realized his quiet crew mate might be taking Klanks measure. "Well," he said confidently. "He hasn't left, so we must be doing something right."

"As long as everyone stays true to themselves and the crew," Bighead became serious, "I don't foresee his abandonment."

Klank observed his Captain's sudden change. He couldn't help but think that Bighead foresaw more than he let on. Back to the screen, Phin was in his final round of Puzzles created by Puzzy, the mastermind of this particular Pirate Games competition. Klank was lost on it, but Phin seemed concentrated. There were two contraptions, both consisted of metal rods that twisted and turned in a chaotic maze. Each maze had a ring of light at the beginning, which was to be guided to the end without touching. Touching ring to metal would instantly reset both puzzles. To a puzzle savvy person, either challenge individually was quite simple, however, the rule of this game was the puzzles must be completed simultaneously. It was a matter of splitting your minds concentration.

Phin took hold of his rings of light, and Klank squinted his eyes in astonishment when his companion closed his eyes. He moved so slowly that the shipwright could barely tell. It was complete opposite of Jebidazer, who moved frantically, with his eyes open in panic. He had already restarted the puzzle twice.

Bighead closed his eyes as well and said, "Clever! No matter what source the light is, it produces energy."

"He can feel when the rings are close to touching the metal."

"The game master was smart in creating this. Most people, in their panic to complete such a complicated task, won't realize such a basic science."

Klank motioned for another smoke, which the guard responded. It was clear he would rather serve this habit than listen to an obnoxious, incoherent song. He took a drag, glad he wasn't in Phin's place. Klank knew it wasn't something he would complete. "That's not to say it still takes some skill. Slow, steady, and calm." While Klank was some of those things when building, he was none of those when presented a challenge out of his comfort zone. The crew watched on while Phin masterfully solved the puzzle amidst a roaring crowd. There was no doubt in anyone's mind that The Bighead Pirates would claim this victory. After a while of silence, Klank grew antsy. "We need to get off this God Damned Island."

Bighead smiled, and loud enough for the guards to hear, said, "Won't be long now."

Dogs of Love: Day Five

"Love is like a hurricane," Puppylove shouted, the sheering wind disrupting a clear and steady tone, "tearing apart everything you thought you knew, in order to make room for something different." The air funneled into a chamber, the remain contestants, 8 in total, separated and and divided to two sides of the storm. "Today we will find out which flames can withstand love's tortuous winds, and which will can be extinguished for easily."

The crowd, protected by 10 inches of glass to maintain the barreling storm, roared at the though of drastic measures, there lust for romantic gestures increasing with each passing night. Issac was always happy to escalate, but even he knew that prolonging this show was dangerous, and GM's endgame would not be favorable for anyone but him. If something were to happy, it would have to be here, it would have to be now. Without any announcement, Issac unbuttoned his shit, the muttered sound of the host trailing of as his hand lifted his shirt to the wind, releasing it to the storm.

"Ummmm, Mister Issac," Puppylove called out, not yet explaining the rules, or what they were there for, "If you'd wait your turn, we can get-"

A shoe took to the storm, followed by another. "I'm afraid I can't wait any longer," he called out, his socks coming off next. "I know you had grand plans for this night, but I have my own plans," Issac declared, his pants hitting the wind, with only a pair of tightly fitted boxes left to protect him from the storm. The men beside him laughed, the first honest laugh he had heard since he arrived on the island, while the girls looked on with atonement, all but Sheila, rage brewing behind her careful eyes.

Puppylove knew it wasn't part of the script, a fact that would have been damning if it were not for the reaction of the crowd, on their feet with #storminthemundies and other clever jokes rushing across the screens. "Do you intend to lay you feelings bare?" the announcer stated. "Are you to share your naked truth with the world, Mister Issac?"

"I could give a damn about the world," he shouted, giving Penne a devious smirk signifying a lesson well taught. He start walking to storm, inching his way towards as the fought him back. Penne did the same, pushing through to the middle with her lengthy strands anchoring her every step of the way. By the time Issac made it, crawling on his knees to penetrate the eye of the storm, she was waiting for him, and he didn't have to muster one much more strength today. "Penne, dear."

Her hair came down, warping him and aiding him to his knees. "Yes, my lasagna."

The feelings struck the crowd with a loud "Aww," the two pausing before they continued.

"I was going to wait," he smiled, shaking his head at his own feelings, "because it's absolutely crazy, but I can't." He reached down into his briefs and pulled out a ring, crude and simple, producing a gasp from the crowd. "I know it has only been a week, and I know I have no right to ask you this question, but I would rather die in this place with you by my side, then spend one day without you." He looked around him, practicing intensely enough to produce a single tear that streaked his daft smile and fell to his chest. "There is no storm that could separate us, no pirate that can divide us, nothing that would ever tear me away from someone so special. Will you," he paused, "be my wife?"

Penne's acting prowess far exceeded his own, tears streaming down plump cheeks, the woman dropping to her knees and shaking yes, just before planting on the finishing touch; a kiss that was passionate, for a minute he forgot they had been pretending, Issac leaning and and bracing her head.

"DAAAAAAADDDDDDDDYYYYY," Sheila screamed so loud that all eyes found her. Rage shook her arms and produced tear of her own and she looked up to the screen. "STOPPPP THIS! STOP THIS RIGHT NOW!" she screeched.

The screens went black, and the storm dissipated, leaving everyone in darkness. Issac could feel the ground shifting beneath him, until the light of the screen illuminated the room, reading "Technical difficulties, please standby." A slow clap emerged from behind the screen, GM walking out to an exposed Issac, a gentle breeze penetrating his boxers. "Congratulations," GM smirked. "You're the first person in history to ever make the same mistake twice." GM circled around him, looking for for some sign of fear, but Issac had him right where he wanted him.

"Love makes fools of us all, George. I mean, that's why I'm here, right?"

"You're not in love, he scowled, his face coming so close that he could smell the leftover rubin sandwich on his breath.

"Of course I am," Issac smiled, forming his hands into a grateful fist. "I found what I was looking for, you know." he waited for a reaction, but GM is playing his cards close to his chest too. "I'm just sorry Sheila had to-"

"Don't you say her name," he said chillingly, his GM hammer forming in his hands. "I could kill you, you know. This is my game, and I make the rules, understand?"

Issac looked around, no one else in the room, or at least, no one he could sense. From what he could put together, it was his broadcast room where he looked over all of his events, the same room that his crew mates were being held captive, so there was no guarantee they were actually alone. "You could," he answered, finding his feet and looking around, "but that would be both a waste of these games and your reputation." He looked where his new captain should have been, almost sensing his presence, his approval, and smirked. "How about we settle this over a game, if that isn't too risky for you."

"A game," GM laughed, "You would challenge me, here, to a game?" His laughter almost masked his arrogance. Almost. "Why would I even play when you have nothing to offer me."

"Marriage," Issac declared. "You beat me at a game of my choice, and I will marry your daughter, just like she has always wanted.

GM was nearly on top of him now, his hammer to Issac throat, ready to slip at the wrong word. "If you even think about playing games with me, I will kill you right here."

Issac took a finger and lowered the hammer with the smirk. "You may be powerful, but you still can not control free will."

"Do it, daddy," a voice pierced, just beyond the darkness. "Please," the voice pleaded.

GM lifted his hammer, giving the ground a tap and revealing his cremates. "Fine," he declared, "what are your terms?" he asked? gazing at his heartbroken daughter.

Issac looked at his crew, their faces still new to him, yet somehow more impactful that he expected. Sasayaki was riled up as always, likely made at the stakes, but she would get over it either way. Sierra was frosty, but something something told him she would melt in die time. Peanut must had forgiven him, the squirrel squeaking gibberish while waving his little arms. Klank was chilled than he would have expected, but something told him the pile of ash next to him had something to do with it. Phin wasn't present, making him all the more entertained. Strangest of all of Bighead, never dropping his smile, nodding to Issac just before he spoke. "This show has gone on long enough without a rival. If I win, my entire crew is set free, and every contestant still alive escapes this place ALIVE. And if neither of us win at the end of the designated time period, the pirate games end, my crew goes free, and you are allowed one challenge at the same game every year. Deal?

GM looked over to Sheila, the risk worth the rewards, and he nodded. The arena changed to a white room, his crew, even Phin, taking a seat on one side, and GM's crew sitting on the other. The camera rose, and the screen returned to their faces. GM gave a short apology to the viewer before explaining that there would be one last game before the finale. he handed the microphone to Issac, unusually calm, after asking what game the would be playing today. Issac took to the spotlight in pride and brought the mic closer to him. "George, I thought you'd never ask."

Phin stood against the roaring crowds as he waited for his mystical transport back to the dingy room. Jebidazer was kneeling a short distance away, still sobbing at his loss. Puzzy was still atop the colorfully flashing contraption that was the conjoined cubed rooms. A look of confusion struck the game master's face when the wheel of judgment did not appear for the crying pirate. Jebidazer, also dumbstruck, rose. He was an imposing man, standing two feet taller than Phin, red hair waving down to his shoulder. He wore all black with a unique symbol stitched into his shirt. A skull n bones with a small dagger pinning a small wanted poster to the cheek. A bounty hunter, Phin thought to himself. One from a legendary guild; The Trackers. It was realized almost immediately, no matter the outcome of this battle, that the Bighead pirates were about to acquire a new and eternal enemy. Afterall, Phin was about to hand this man his second loss in a day. Everyone knew that if there was one rule of The Trackers, it was that losing was a big no no. The only crew to have ever bested one of their men, ages ago, felt The Trackers most brutal wraith. That crew was no longer.

GM was nowhere to be found, and neither was the barrier. The crowd paid no mind, instead averting their attention to the screens. Phin, along with Jebidazer and Puzzy, had missed the game changing happenings, but caught on quick when his crew mate, Isaac, began stirring the pot. The fishman's thought, was that Isaac was more than just stirring. He was splashing its contents all over the place and burning everything around it. He looked to the only other two people close by. They both eyed Phin like he was a fish out of water. He chuckled at the thought.

The loser pirate, no doubt wanting revenge, made the first move toward him. Phin attempted an escape, but the ground rose before him in a maze. Behind him was unchanged, and Jebidazer was closing in. When he looked back, Puzzy was amidst leaping from his perch on the cubes. Phin turned his body to his pursuer taking a stance in his native martial art. He whirled his hands in a circular motion, drawing water from the air in a spiraling fashion until it all merged into a small sphere. All he could think was his old master scolding him for being overly flashy, but to Phin, it was much more than that. As much as a weapon water was in a fishman's hand, the element demanded respect and grace. Phin mustered both and drew back his hands with a swift and smooth dance. When he launched his attack, Phin follwed though into a defensive stance, never taking his eyes of Jebidazer. The sphere launched precisely towards Puzzy, changing from its round form into a sleek spear. The projectile pierced through Puzzy's shoulder as he landed. It sent the game master fyling back into the flashing cubes.

"That was my victory," Jebidazer whined. "I'll kill you."

Phin remained silent, believing whole heartedly that words had no place in a life or death battle. He launched forward with a side kick. The target easily deflected the blow. A few more assaults ended the same way, and while Phin was much stronger in terms of power, Jebidazer seemed to predict everything.

"I'm a focus man," He laughed. "No matter what you do, you'll never hit me." He began his own series of assaults, which Phin also had no problem deflecting, no doubt because of his superior strength and speed.

Phin created a deadly pellet with each counter, but no matter how close, Jebi never felt one of them. Moments passed with the two going back and forth with nothing changing. Until Phin had only one option left. He deflect an attack with his feet, using the force of the attack to launch himself back. As he descended, he whirled around and waved his hands, continuing to do so through his landing. Water whipped around like a fan, and with each rotation of his body, the water fan spun faster and faster. The water started to shrink into a six finned blade. He launched it directly at Jebidazer, who easily avoided. Phin, dove at his enemy with all his speed, unleashing the quickest set of punches and kicks he could manage. Though the attacks weren't his strongest, Phin was impressed at the speed of his opponent, even with his devil fruit ability. That bout was all he needed, however, and at the last second, Phin dodged back. Jebidazer turned to deflect the water blade, but he was too late. His enhanced focus was all on Phin for too long. The blade caught along the lower right half of Jebidazer's torso. He dropped with a loud thunk.

Now the puzzle man was rising in pain, holding his injured shoulder. But there was no time to waste. Something was going down, and Phin had to find the others. He hadn't known them long, but each one of them showed promise. Klank was a man of dreams, and at first it was annoying, but even Phin, who never thought about it, slowly began realizing his own. Isaac and Sasayaki were clearly troublemakers, and flashy ones at that, but Phin sensed a camaraderie between them that could not be broken. To be a part of that bond meant something greater than mere friendship. Sierra and Peanut were still immature, the girl always sizing people up, not to measure their person, but their abilities in battle. Phin almost admired that once familiar mind set. Peanut, like he could read Sierra's mind, always gave the look as if to say, " Yea... Yea she can take you." And then there was Captain Bighead. There was nothing to study, not for lack of personality ambition, but because with Bighead, what you saw is what you got. A man of mans. It was an odd assembly of a crew, but no doubt, in time, a worthy one.

Phin bolted away from Puzzy as fast as he could. With no way of knowing where his crew was held up, the fishman headed towards the sea. His domain wasn't far off, and that would be the best place to find the ship. He was confident in the abilities of everyone to overcome whatever challenges lay before them.
