Rio Okotaru DarishimoRio sat down at the base of a thick tree, taking a moment to relax. Resting her head back, she leaned the back of her head softly against the bark of the tree, closing her eyes for a few minutes. But, something cause her eyes to shoot open once more.
'That smell is back' This time she wasn't going to loose the source of the scent. Standing, her eyes scanned the woods around her for any sign of moment. With her sense's sharp and eyes focused, she paid attention to the area around her when something peculiar caught her eye.
A hooded figure was spotted hiding behind one of the many trees. They moved once they realised that they had been caught. The hooded character turned away in a bid to escape, there was no doubt in Rio's mind that the familiar smell was exuding off of this mysterious person, but who are they? Why were they spying on her?... She was going to find out, right here and now. Locking onto the fleeing person, Rio shunpo'ed from her seat, running towards said person.
She chased this person, wanting answers. Rio would definitely not let this person escape, she won't let them slip through her slender fingers. Rio's speed had dramatically increased due to the training she had been undertaking so it didn't take long before she had caught up to this person.
"Who are you? What do you want?" She was a little bit behind the person, almost running next to them; side by side. Giving it a minute, the hooded character didn't respond at all and only continued to run a little faster. Rio's temper was short so gaining no response frustrated her more than it would for any other person.
"I Asked You A Question!" She couldn't help but yell, absolutely loathing being ignored. When the character didn't respond a second time and instead began veering off to the left away from Rio, Rio grew angrier, angry enough to pull the hood of the figure's cloak.
Long, blackish-blue hair, the same colour as her own, fell gently onto Rio's hand. The spicy, sweet applewood scent entered Rio's nostrils once more. The figure abruptly froze, standing completely still like a deer in the headlights. Rio raised an eyebrow at this, she wasn't sure why this person stopped all of a sudden. Removing her hand, the rest person's hair dropped, falling onto their back.
"... Excuse me?" Rio's stomach began to harbour an uneasy feeling as she spoke... She didn't know why she felt like this but it wasn't pleasant at all... The person then let out a sigh before slowly turning their head.
Purple landed on plum, causing Rio's eyes to widen and her feet to reflexively move backwards slowly before stopping.
A moment of silence passed. The woman watched Rio calmly, showing no happiness nor sadness. Rio, however, wasn't feeling at all calm. Her breath shook slightly as she took slow, deep breath.
'Th-this woman.... I-I... I know her.... B-But... I can't.... Seem to remember... She's too familiar... How could I forget her?... Who... Who is she?!' "Hello" "Huu!" Rio felt as though she was going crazy and as though her heart was going to pound out of her chest, then the woman spoke, aiding in Rio's growing unexplained headache. She felt as if something was blocking her mind... Something was clogged, making her unable to access her mind and discover who this person may be. Clutching her head as it felt as though it was about to burst, Rio squeezed her eyes shut.
"... You don't remember me.... Do you?" The woman's voice was smooth and calm as she stepped forward, gently placing a palm on Rio's shoulder.
"You go by the name 'Rio'... Right?" Rio's face shot up, looking directly at the woman with utter shock.
"H-how do you know that?! Who are... Who Are You?! Have You Been Stalking Me?!" Rio didn't know why but she felt distraught for some reason... Everything about this woman... Made her head pound and ache and tears pool in her eyes for some unknown reason. Her Zanpakuto's tried to contact her but she shut them out. The woman let out a quite grunt at this and closed her eyes, taking a deep breath before looking back at Rio.
"I'm.... I'm your mother..."....
......
........
Rio just stood there, the tears pooling in her eyes released and ran down her face. Her breathing seemed to have stopped for a few seconds.
After the moment of silence, Rio's face contorted into one of anger as she forced her face downwards, allowing her fringe to cover her overflowing eyes and block them out of sight.
"... You are not my mother" Hurriedly turning around, Rio began running, running far and fast. However, the woman who claimed to be her mother followed her.
"GO AWAY!" Rio could feel the woman behind her.
"NO! I know I haven't been there for you... B-BUT I'M HERE NOW! I can't explain anything yet! Now isn't the right time! You weren't even meant to notice me!... You're power has grown a lot more than I thought it would of ever grown... I'm proud of y-" "SHUT UP! YOU ARE NOT MY MOTHER!" Rio yelled, interrupting the other woman. She
refused to believe that after all of this time, her mother would come back to her... No... That was only a dream, only an impossible fantasy... Did Rio fall asleep? No, the excruciating headache she had made it painfully obvious that this was real... But no! It couldn't be!
Rio continued to run, she wouldn't stop until even the smell of this woman had completely disintegrated....
