Greetings and welcome to another Naruto roleplay. Like most Naruto roleplays this one will be AU with most of the elements of canon intact, save for major names and shinobi that would otherwise ruin the immersion of the story. With that said, I haven’t seen many active Naruto RP’s here on the site, so I hope to change that and usher in a new era of Japanese weebery.
In this specific RP we will be heavily focusing on one village, Kirigakure no Sato or in this timeline better known as Chigiri no Sato. The majority of the RP will start and take place within the walls of the bloody mist and focus on each unique aspect of the village at its height. In this I mean we will be experiencing the nuances and difference in each caste system, the implementation of the battle royal-esque graduation exam before Zabuza solo’d it, and the grim and dark politics that arose from the totalitarian style government that ruled the village at that time.
Speaking of dark and grim, the conjecture of coming into this RP is to expect that it will follow that of the anime and manga. Yes, there will be light hearted moments, but we won’t be strangers to what make ninja’s ninja. Death, sacrifice, and just about everything in between will be integral to making a both cohesive and immersive experience for this RP.
On that note, as stated before, this RP will take place in the time period between the Second and Third shinobi world war. You will be playing a genin under the delegation of one of three Jonin; both you and your squad-mates and jonin will be from varying castes, allowing an extra element to factor in with organic conversation. Your genin will be one of many vying for the chance to graduate the academy in the battle royal and become a ninja. I’m looking for a small cast of 6-9 very committed players in order to facilitate a memorable experience in hopes of longevity and significance.

SETTING ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗
The cycle of life is rather simple for shinobi. You live, then fight, and shortly thereafter meet an unbecoming death. This cycle of life and death has been on a never-ending loop fated to continue like an uroboros. Kirigakure, founded after the warring states period, saw to ensure relations with other great nations. Especially in villages such as Konoha, gaining an invaluable resource in the three tailed beast and diplomatic relations. However, the goodwill they had found so easily was the antithesis of those with nations such as Iwagakure. And so, victim to the vicious cycle both the second Mizukage and Tsuchikage had met their fated ends in battle, but a glorious one filled with honor? That much is left to be said.
With the third Mizukage being appointed the Mist Village would find itself in a schism creating a caste system that relied on three tiers that separated the nation unequally. This inequity fostered tension in the village and began to plant fear and doubt within the villagers. This civil unrest reached the ears of the Mizukage who ruled the nation with an iron fist. The tyrant would not allow any talks of treason or civil dissonance under his corrupt rule. In order to quell any idea to take form, the third ushered in a new system, one that implemented one crucial rule to potential graduates aspiring to leave the academy, death. Each genin would have to fight to the death to graduate, including those of the first and second caste and not just the third.
This harrowing process cut down on numbers, numbers that could overrun the third and his posse. It also demonstrated that the caste system was not above the Mizukage, thus reinforcing the idea of not biting the hand that feeds. The rest of the Shinobi world gained wind of the nefarious politics in the mist and was branded the Village Hidden in the Bloody Mist, quite fitting for the notoriety it was gaining. There was one pro if any, cultivation of only the strongest bloodlines and ninja led to powerful armies one in which was devoutly loyal to its leader or at least that’s what the Mizukage was led to believe.
The Bloody Mist is at its height and the Mizukage has taken a staunch stance in terms of isolationism and neutrality outside of the requirements for the second and third caste. Tensions amongst the other nations are at an all time high, pressing and leading to the potential of a Third Shinobi World War. The cycle once again starting and ending, war and death forming an ouroboros once more.

During the birth and natural life of Kirigakure, society was split into a caste system* which consisted of three major factions.
 ATTRIBUTES ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ In terms of combat ability, the Gyokushō were gifted with unique attributes. With their high rank they were naturally born with an affinity for chakra control, meaning they were able to regulate and expend chakra with ease as opposed to most. In addition to better chakra control the Gyokushō also had access to higher-ranked jutsu from birth to well into their years as Jonin. - | Gyokushō 玉將 (Jeweled General) – Were known as the first caste and ranked as the highest amongst the three. The jeweled general only consisted of the highest nobility and had access to some of the purest and rarest jutsu and Kekkei Genkai to exist within that of Kirigakure. In order to be considered a member of Gyokusho, one had to be able to prove domestic birth and lineage that had originally stemmed from within Kirigakure. Being associated and part of the first caste had brought some liberties with it besides the name. HOUSING ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Gyokushō were housed in the grandest of estates that Kirigakure had to offer, second only to the Mizukage and his entourage. The housing consisted of estates that were elevated higher than the rest, thus allowing them to look down on the rest of the caste system that were not first. Each estate was garnished with beautiful and serene vegetation lining the tops and sides of their buildings, which were usually kept in pristine conditions by non-caste help. WEIGHT ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ With their social standing, Gyokushō were allowed to roam around Kirigakure whenever and wherever within reason. There was no curfew or segregation they faced, rather they had access to almost everything. - |
| Ginshō 銀将 (Silver General) – Were known as the second caste in the system and ranked as the intermediate class between the three. The Ginshō were mostly comprised of members and families that were associated and allied with Kirigakure from the Warring Periods to the Second Shinobi World War and any subsequent battles after. While not as prestigious or noble as the first caste, they were not depicted as poorly as the lowest. Enough good standing and merit allowed for the potential of being promoted to the first caste in special cases. HOUSING ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Ginshō lived in similar estates as the Gyokushō, the only difference being they were one to two story houses that resided on the floor of Kirigakure. Buildings either had no greenery or had very little to denote their wealth. Mostly everything was maintained within the families. Appliances and décor was not as expensive or easily replaceable as their higher counterparts, but were great nonetheless. WEIGHT ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ As the middleman, Ginshō never faced any kind of discrimination or alienation. They were often allowed to attend events that were otherwise strictly for Gyokushō. While their access to buildings and areas isn’t as extensive as Gyokushō, Ginshō find themselves happy with their intermediate medium. |  ATTRIBUTES ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Despite being smaller in house and name, these foreigners had brought their own prowess to aid in the development of Kirigakure. The Ginshō offered and brought two things. The first was a knack for endurance, these families and members were able to tank and absorb damage that would otherwise knock out or incapacitate other ninja. Secondly, Ginshō were given the ability of specialization i.e. had deep knowledge and practice in a chosen field (medical, gen, nin, tai) usually what a family prided themselves on like a school/style. - |
 ATTRIBUTES ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Being basically prisoners of war, Fuhyō were the caste that had nothing to lose and the most to gain. Most often the group was comprised of mercenaries, missing nin, and otherwise criminals. These families that were most desperate allowed them for a few abilities. Fuhyō had battle prowess that was unmatched by any of the other two castes, having been constantly fighting from birth to now they have accumulated experience some ninja won’t live or experience in a single lifetime. Fuhyō also have heightened senses and affinity for stealth since it was what they relied on to survive. | Fuhyō 歩兵 (Pawn) – The last of the three castes and the one held in most contempt. The Fuhyō were the undesirables, the caste that no one wanted to associate with or have any standing with. They were constantly looked down on, spoke down to, and considered to be nothing more than trash given a kindness by living in Kiri and not having been executed like a dog in the streets. This caste consisted of members of families who were defeated on the same battlefields where the Ginshō were initatied in. Having been annexed into Kiri left them with almost as much as if they had been missing nin. HOUSING ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Fuhyō basically lived in squalor, the lowest of lows, often neighbors to rats and stray cats that hunted them. The compounds in which they lived were further out from the center of the village than the other two castes. They were akin to that of ghettos in which most of the houses were shared by multiple families and non-families. The ghettos were dilapidated and worn with no greenery in site but instead dirt. This isolation from the other two wasn’t that bad whenever the Fuhyō had cause to celebrate, allowing them to party in the streets extravagantly. As expected, the appliances were second rate if any at all and most families had to improvise. WEIGHT ‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗‗ Fuhyō pretty much had none and faced the most segregation. They were not allowed to eat, attend, or had access to a number of facilities within Kirigakure. Instead the Fuhyō were handled and approached with extreme caution and forced to complete the most perilous and dangerous missions for the village without much regard for their life. While it was a good strategy to keep them busy from revolting, it still planted the seed within. - |

» This is a Naruto RP so that means there will be fighting (PVP). Now that also means people are going to die. Yes, your character may, in fact, bite the bullet; but that doesn’t mean you’re out of the game forever.
» While some of you may not like fighting or simply don’t believe you have the skills. Fights will be under heavy judging and scrutiny. There will be no power playing, godmodding, or autohits of any kind.
» Collaborative posts will be banned unless with permission from the GMs. This is so that posts don’t overextend, move smoothly, and give the players adequate space to flesh out their character.
» Unlike the hidden villages, this isn’t a democracy. GMs word is law, but that doesn’t mean we’re unable to be negotiated with. Any and all forms of toxicity or incivility will be dealt with accordingly. Please don’t argue, we’ll do our best to meet your needs.
» This is a mature RP, that means themes like murder, child soldiers, and more will be introduced. Anything that breaks the Guild’s guidelines must be taken to PM otherwise keep the beheadings to a minimum.
» This is a semi-sandbox RP. There will be major plot events that happen which will restrict characters’ ability to roam around and do what they want, but there will also be downtime in which you are given free reign.
» Writing Competency & Deadlines. I’m not a stickler for the occasional grammar mistake or short post, but do please try to keep the standard that’s set by myself and others. Also I would like a minimum of a post per week. We all live busy lives some more than others and if an extension is needed please contact the GM team. Otherwise deadlines will be enforced.
» Character sheets are to be posted and reviewed in the OOC. Once a character is cleared only then may you move it to the characters tab and begin posting in the IC.
» Jutsu & Bijuu. While no one will start off particularly strong, do note that we have banned a few of the more rather potent jutsu. Please see list below and do not try to negotiate listed jutsu for character reasons. Jinchuriki and the majority (not all) of Bijuu will not serve a purpose in this RP as they are difficult to balance and most often take away from everything else.
