"It has a few advantages over the Prometheus. The more advanced alien technologies were integrated into the original design rather than tacked on after the fact." - Major Samantha Carter.

The BC-304 Daedalus is the first of it's kind. Designed to be the replacement main ship of the line rather than the ageing BC-304. The Daedalus, unlike its predecessor, is built with many of the alien subsystems ingrained into the ship's systems. Rather than the more advanced systems being tacked on after the fact. Designed to lead the USAFs Fast Attack Wing her standing orders are to ferry personnel and equipment between Earth and Atlantis, with the people of Earth only having one functional ZPM. Deploying that ZPM to Atlantis during the siege the Daedalus proved itself a capable warship in battle. Taking out multiple Wraith hive ships before being overwhelmed by superior numbers, as well as their enemy somehow learning how to block the Asgard Transport Beams.
Its next challenge came when on the return from Earth a Wraith Virus took hold of the ship's systems. Almost killing the entire crew in order to deliver the ship into the hands of the Wraith. The ship was damaged in order to prevent this outcome, repaired at Atlantis before it continued on its standing orders.
It was later discovered that Colonel Caldwell was a Goa'uld infiltrator on behalf of the Trust, after having the symbiote removed the Daedalus continued to support Atlantis through multiple combat and non-combat scenarios. Most recently it engaged two Wraith ships bound for Earth in the space between Galaxies with the help of the Lantean Warship 'Orion'. While the Orion was destroyed the Daedalus survived, having been sent back to Earth for full repairs it is now on its way back to the Pegasus Galaxy.

Note: For the interest of my state of mind, as far as I'm concerned the universe in which this Daedalus comes from is identical to that of the show in all but one way... Star Wars does not exist as a movie franchise. I feel like it'd just be confusing.
