The constructs were relentless. They didn't waste a second to follow her down the darkened hallway. Rage ran through her poisonous veins, every part of her body was screaming to just turn around and challenge these fuckers. Rip. Tear. Break. Crush. Yet, as wrathful as she was, she had to maintain some semblance of level headedness.

Hahaha.

Her patience had been spent. She needed blood. To taste the sweet victory. Devour. Consume. Crush these pathetic creations under her claws. These machines would learn the hard way that she was going to win this fight. She broke free of the smoke, taking a few moments to catch her breath as she placed her hand on a guard railing. Hm, it'd do. Her blades were inefficient against metal, so some sort of bludgeoning device was always good. Maybe she'd get herself some sort of larger weapon after this...

A thin layer of mist coated her arm, the decaying properties of the venom immediately taking effect. The metal began to rust and decay, her grip more than strong enough to crush its weakened resistance. The mist trailed alongside it to where it connected to the floor, and in one sharp pull, there was the sound of grinding metal as she pulled it from the ground.

With her superhuman strength and feral roar, she lifted it with both hands, and swung it into the side of one of the constructs head, her corrosive mist constantly being released in a thick cloud around her. She'd only get a few good whacks with it, but if she could take out one or two in the time before it was completely corroded, then that would be all she needed, and she could always get more.

Nine
Berlin, Germany || ??? || January 24, 1:15
"Yeah, yeah, give me a minute," he uttered, cracking his neck as he stretched his limbs in peculiar, inhumane directions, yet it wasn't enough to break them. Flicking his hands for a moment, he bent over to touch his feet before reaching back upwards. His unblinking eyes flickered throughout the room before he stared blankly at a wall before clearing his throat, "Some of the specimens nearby are foreigners from France and have accommodated a charter bus. The bus is located by the Oberbaum Bridge and is situated close to the Spree, but the current location of the driver is unknown."

With a sigh, Nine shoved his hands into the hoodies pockets, arms slumped as he trudged towards the door, "I'll meet you over there, just gotta get that takeout first." With that said and done, Nines reached out and opened up the door, looking behind him at his handler, before looking back outside the dim room.

And with that, he departed for a time. His handler really had no reason to worry, Nine always came back.

Nine looked about the empty, dimly lit room as an extra large roller bag he had 'procured' from a specimen, the former contents dumped off in some unknown location, possibly a dumpster or down some sewers, it didn't matter to him. The place was abandoned and somewhat in disrepair, with graffiti lining the walls, with rodents and other bugs scampering about, but that didn't exactly matter at the moment.

What did matter, however, were all the specimens from the vehicle, all standing in a row, straight as a platoon of soldiers, silent and listless. Nine stood there, rubbing his chin with one of his thumbs as he examined each of them, before sucking in some air and crooked a finger at his side.

Like a puppet and his marionette, one of the bodies came to life, more precisely the recently deceased specimen known as Cheska Ridenour walked forward towards the number. He stared at her for a few moments before tearing the clothes off of her and tossing them to side; they would get in the way as Nine had her sit down before grabbing one of the woman's limbs and bending them in a particular direction until a snap only audible to him was heard.

Nine continued this pattern, contorting, twisting, and generally just desecrating the body as he continued to make the woman compact enough to fit in the bag, making sure not to tear her skin; didn't want to leave a trace of blood after all. After a few minutes, Nine had finally finished compressing the woman and fit her into the bag, the size of her enough to fit a small amount of clothes. However, this presented a major issue for Nine.

There were three other bodies, but he was fairly certain he could at least fit in one more, possibly two if he got creative with the placement. However, he wasn't one to ruminate on this for too long, as with a flick of the wrist, the other three flicked their heads.

Snap!

Right now, size did matter as the French Ambassador and the bald specimen stepped forward, stripping themselves and tossing whatever they had on them to the side. The larger man that he identified as the 'Glove' they had mentioned in thoughts, put a hand on the arm of the bald girl, with Nine putting one on the leg of the Ambassador. He then repeated this process, this time with the help of his early dinner, both of them snapping each bone, awkwardly bending each limb before rearranging the bag and stuffing the bodies in.

The clothes would have some usage as Nine retrieved them and tucked them in-between the crevices of the bag, covering up the bodies and making it look as if he did have some clothes with him. There was some left over, but that would have its own use as the Glove arranged them in a manner similar to a covering on a table, despite it all being on the floor.

Zipping the bag up, he now had one last job for the bigger man as he commanded him to take off his clothes and add to the pile. Walking forward, unfazed with his resting bitch face, he stared at the lifeless doll before him, looking at every part of him, his stomach yearning for a piece of his flesh. He could just savor it as he grabbed the mans wrist and began licking and nibbling at his fingers.

In an instant, Nine pushed him down, still holding his wrist as he hovered above him, looking at his hand. Licking his chops, Nine sat on the side as he brought the index finger forward, fitting it all into his mouth.

Crunch!

In one swift bite, Nine severed the finger from his victims hand, munching and chomping away at the mans fingers, continuing down the line as he began to stuff his mouth. Any blood that leaked out he would suck up, as if he were a child drinking out of a swirly straw; he did say to dispose of them discretely and what better way to do so than to devour this last remaining piece of evidence after all.

Plucking out an eyeball and popping it into his mouth, he felt the juices squirt out, gushing down his throat before he chewed up the eye and swallowed it. In this time, Nine smiled briefly, chuckling to himself as he continued to satiate his hunger until not even the crimson carcass of this man was left.

It had been no less than ten minutes in that building as Nine tossed the remaining, bloodied clothes into a nearby dumpster, making sure to move the articles of clothing around with his neuron strips. He made sure to obscure every piece, making it so you couldn't discern that they had been stained by anything else other than garbage. With that said and done, Nine peered behind him, looking up at the vacant building, empty once again, before looking down at his luggage.

...

With a huff, Nine walked down the alleyway, exiting it and merging with the crowds of specimens, flowing with each and every one of them. No one would know of what had just occurred a few minutes prior in those abandoned, deteriorating apartments, absent once more of any sort of life as the perpetrator began his next objective.

Julius finally grew tired of the robots. They weren't showing anything new, just blindly charging at him now. Their thrusts were dodged easily, either by slight body movements or just 'falling' into the shadows. They had kept up with his base speed, but he was moving faster now. His body literally blurring and they looked like they were moving in slow motion. His shadow had been covering him this entire time, but now he was actually using it, amplifying his move speed, his strength, his reflexes were already supernatural when it came to melee combat.

Another thrust came and he flicked it to the side, bending the spear before grabbing the robots arm. A pulse of power and he tore it right off. The other Gardna were thrown back by a wall of shadow as he took on the 'captain' of their team. Tossing the limb aside he tilted his head slightly. "You have good information on some of us it feels. But my imagination is my limit. You can't win." He said to the puppeteer as his body blurred again. Dents appeared all over the front of the robot, its joints bent the wrong way as he moved. Dismantling it in a rather brutal fashion.

He reappeared behind the Gardna with his arms stretching above his head. He was one of the most physically capable of the Promised Children, being in the process of becoming a master of all things medieval weapon and sufficient in hand to hand. The Gardna barely registered as a threat in a melee confrontation, he had just been testing to see what they could do. They were like poorly programmed puppets. The wall separating him and the other three Gardna vanished without a trace as he just waited for them to come to him as they blindly would.

Before Akasha could even turn back to give two a witty response on their way back to the car, a bestial roar would be heard from the very house they just left. It was inhumanly loud, echoing quite the distance from their location and causing the hairs on the pink-haired figure’s neck to stand on end and freezing her still.

“Well I guess it’s safe to say that this missions was accomplished. We should leave before those things break out of that house.”

Two’s handler was quicker on his feet as his rear made its way into the driver seat as he called out “We have no time for chitchat, we need to get the hell outta here.” turning the key in the ignition and turning the wheel premediately as the others made their way into the vehicle. And as soon as they were occupying the rear and passenger seats he would put her into drive and floor the gas, peeling rubber as they hauled away.

If they peered in the distance, large grotesque creatures of twisted flesh would briefly be seen crashing their ways outside from the windows and into the outside world.

“Why the long face? Now we can actually get out of this frozen cesspool.” The chunky knife-thrower chimed to his promised child, a wry smile from ear to ear upon his face as he slowly crept out from the snow-train. His white gloves had been stained a crimson, familial blood, but the man seemed more overjoyed than anything.

“Don’t tell me you’re upset about that stray. They are nothing like you, my Six, nobody is like you - nor me. Never forget that we are the blessed, chosen by god, superior to all other existence on this blighted planet.” The handler spat, brows angling inward as aggression boiled in his tone. There was no higher horse than the one he sat upon.

He sighed as he continued to glance over the sullen expression on the promised child’s face, and then reluctantly plucking the gloves from his hands and throwing them to the grayed snow below. The handler then grunted, using his exposed hands to beckon a few of the surveying soldiers over to their position.

“Screw the train, and the orders. Get me aerial transportation to Varkhaus, our little pet needs a reality check. Make sure it’s here in less than an hour.”

“Yes sir.” The soldier quickly responded without an ounce of hesitation.

The time after this order would be a dreary waiting period for the two, they made their way to the dilapidated entrance center where they had originally planned to wait for the train - which had of course gone out the window.

“No mass killings, it would be a danger to the already dwindling wildlife in the area.” The exhausted Augustine responded, her chest and expanding and retracting quickly as her body winded down from the rush of adrenaline.

“We need to get somewhere more exposed and call for an extraction. Once we get onto the actual battlefield you can go ham, unwind, all that nonsense. Why are men such primates?” She sighed, glancing around the general perimeter before reaching her right hand up and extending a finger to point to the sky.

“Unless you can think of a way to get us up in the sky, we have a long walk.” Augustine hissed, the annoyance ever apparent in her facial expression. “And I’m surprised you survived.” Augustine wittily snipped out audibly, towards the normal soldier who had survived this long. “Surprisingly, your crazy magneto X-men kid saved me.” The pilot coughed out, wincing a bit as a gust of sharp icy wind rampaged upon his body.

The two would continue to easily overcome their opponents, more gardna reinforcements would charge in on the offensive as they were overpowered by the inhuman strength the creatures possessed. Two gardna from each regiment would flee to the battle against the promised child they targeted and they seemed to flee to an elevator they ran through the center of the museum which granted easy access to each floor. And while the rest of the building wasn’t being fully powered at this moment, the elevator seemed to run fine as the four entered and were carried down to a secret area below the ground floor.

“Well, I guess my toys aren’t quite ready to take you guys on yet. But the research from this ordeal will be extremely useful to my superiors. I appreciate you two, and I guess I’ll see you in hell!” The loudspeakers blared out, the man who orchestrated the situation seeming to abandon one plan and administer another.

The touch of Seven’s hand caused her handler to recoil and the man even gasped out in a violent fit of anxiousness. His sights struggled to not glance over to the promised child next to him, but he regained his composure and grunted out in an earnest display of unease.

“I’m going to hand you off to someone else’s handler for a little while - until I figure some stuff out. They’re going to be administered the same drug as me to build resistance to your miracle, and they’re going to undergo some training on how to handle you before you meet them. It would be in both of our best interests if you stopped worrying about me, Seven.” The man’s words were cold, and they rushed out as if almost emergent.

The two would soon reach the airport, and the driver would after parking the vehicle, step outside and open the door for each of them. “Your plane is already here. 297 is the number.” The driver carefully kept his sights down to the floor as he spoke. Their vehicle sitting in its lonesome in the large parking facility that was attached to the air strip, though a large number of planes were coming and going in the visible distance.

"Where is he, where is he, where is-- there." Nine's handler yelped as the promised child slowly emerged into his view from a nearby alleyway.

A black car would swiftly appear on the road, tinted windows too dark to see through, no plate, very edgy and inconspicuous. Not only that but a bald dark-skinned man dressed in a plain black suit and matching sunglasses stepped over to open the rear doors for the two.

"We have no time - in." The bald man stated blankly, the raspy voice holding no charm not kindness for the two figures he was sent to deliver.

The ride wasn't a long one, an airport was less than an hour drive away - and the driver would likely not be casually paced on the road either - weaving quickly between cars to get to the destination as quickly as possible. The red-haired handler seemed to quiet and concerned, sitting close to his window staring out silently - though would briefly break the this for a moment only saying.

"God please allow us to make it to Rome alive." The words were whisped out as a mere whisper, but the seriousness would be very evident.

As they pulled up to the airport, the driver quickly stepped out himself and made way from the parking garage to the nearby elevator. Pressing the singular 'up' button to call for it to allow entrance. The handler would follow suit, quickly snapping open the door for himself and his promised child to catch up to the driver. The bald man would growl as the door finally opened.

"We have a private plane coming. Keep your wits about you while up there, and if something seems wrong - stay in check. The brass earlier gave us intel that many of the other handlers have been attacked, one was even killed."

Number Two's smiled faded from her face, the creature jumping in surprise as an ear-numbing roar blasted through the early morning sky. Eyes wide she stared toward the house as she fumbled for the back seat door of the car. Glancing over at her handler she scrambled inside, slamming the door shut and forgoing her seatbelt in her panic.

"What the fuck was that!?" She asked as their vehicle roared to life. Was Akasha right? Did they just summon a demon or something? Or was it just a noise? Maybe the bomb sounded like that? An explosion was something she could handle, but that did not sound right. The car sped away and Two's back was thrown against the cushion behind her. Not being able to help herself, her eyes were drawn to the back window and she watched the house as it grew smaller in the distance. Suddenly, several disgusting abominations crashed violently through the walls of the house. Two's eyes went wide as saucers and she laughed hysterically. "Oh, great!" Exasperated she sunk back into her chair, still shaking. Trembling, she buckled her seat belt and let herself fall deeper into the carseat until her chin touched the very top of her chest.

"Give the boys and girls in the lab my regards, Antoine. They really out fucking did themselves this time. I can't wait to have nightmares about that." She palmed her forehead, closing her eyes. Could that have been her? Did those...things...somehow come out of the canister? Or were those the people living in that house? And what the HELL was this little girl's deal!? So many things she couldn't even begin to understand. Either way her back was starting to hurt. Straightening herself in her seat, she pulled her shirt back over her shorts and ran her fingers through her hair. She was not getting paid enough for this. Oh, that's right, she wasn't getting paid anything. Those things were right on their ass! They only missed getting eaten by those B-movie horrors by less than a minute. Bombs weren't good enough, huh? Couldn't just shoot them in the back of the head in dark alley? Couldn't poison their tea with arsenic? No! That shit was too easy! We have to make sure they turn into demons from hell, the kind that brave knights kill and that visit children who don't brush their teeth.

Her heart was still beating a million miles a minute. They weren't even done yet. Maybe those monsters followed them, or maybe the army were coming after them for revenge. Perhaps that was the point of the monsters- to provide a distraction while the trio in the car made their getaway. Well, it would probably work. Who cares about a random car fleeing the scene when it was Attack of the Living Roadkill over there? Good, God above! Trying to collect herself, she pressed her palm against the window and squished her nose against the glass, looking to spot if anyone was following them.

What joke was this?! Fleeing at the first sign of trouble huh!? Eleven growled as the railing slammed into the robots head, before bringing it around and following it up with another swift jab, impaling it in the guardian areas between the creatures joints. Leaping backwards, Eleven snarled as she noticed the man fleeing along with some of the husks. Fine, fine, FINE. A game of cat and mouse was being played again, and she sure as damn wasn't going to be the mouse.

Breaking off from the constructs, Eleven bolted down to the elevator. Reaching for the doors, her claws dug into the metal, crushing the edges in her grip as she forced open the elevator doors on her floor. So there was a secret underground floor, huh? Well, she'd just need to follow and ensure this mission was a success.

Leaping into the elevator shaft, She leaped for the elevator cables. Grabbing them, she began expelling more of her corrosive gas. The metal cables quickly beginning to rot and rust, weakening the entire cables as she slid her way down.

Nine
Berlin, Germany || ??? || January 24, 1:20
Materializing out of the crowd of people like a ghost in some mist, Nine rejoined his handler, staring at the man with those same, empty eyes he had when departing to gather the bodies. Holding a fist up to his mouth, he burped in to the hand before dully muttering an apology to the man as he rapped his hands on the handle of the roller bag, barely tilting his head around in an attempt to locate the charters driver.

However, it looks like he had everything under control as not a moment had passed before the bus rolled up, with a bald man exiting the vehicle before issuing for the duo to enter.

Just as his handler did, Nine followed obediently, pushing the handle down before hefting the heavy luggage up as if he was a child playing with a crude rag doll. Dropping it carefully into one of the seats nearby, Nine sat a short distance away from the agent and his handler, but not so much were he was out of arms reach.

And then, the trip began. Another easy job finished.

Sighing dreamily, Nine reclined the chair, smiling briefly as it eventually stopped at a certain angle. Finally, he could get some rest as they headed back; his eyelids were drooping and he had to stifle a yawn, but before he could doze off, he was jolted awake by the agent who prompted Nine to also listen up.

Shaking his head and shrugging, he leaned over the side, resting his head on the palm of his hand, rolling it slightly to the side while having it bob back and forth like a bobble head. His eyes were always dangerously close to shutting, only for them to open again, blinking rapidly, tears forming as a result of his yawn, causing the child to wipe it away.

This process repeated for a couple of minutes until every bit of information had been relayed to the duo. While his handler ruminated over it, Nine instead formulated a simple plan to himself that would require several steps to complete once they arrived, before slumping back and falling asleep. What was the plan in question?

Well, it was to identify their assailant and devour him of course, that is if they showed up; no way he could fit in another specimen into this bag, as much as he would like to.

Nine's slumber was short-lived, being roused from it by his own handler who told him it was time to go. There was a shift in the tone of the professionalism here; was it fear that permeated the atmosphere? Nine couldn't tell, but it was definitely different than the room they were occupying during the assassination attempt.

Regardless, the man made one final response, ushering them into the elevator as it slowly closed, leaving the two alone within its confines.

"Contingencies are being prepared in case they attempt to strike. I'll eliminate those specimen like the last target." His voice was cold, aloof, spiritless, bland, yet there was a stern ruthlessness to it.

They will return to Rome alive.
