-Main Class: Rogue

-Short Biography:
Dhaz was born in The Great Rift. Being a gold dwarf and the son of a powerful sorcerer bloodline, Dhaz's upbringing was all about tradition and legacy. Unfortunately Dhaz was born without sorcerer abilities, like the vast majority of dwarves, but unlike his father and grandfather. He was a dissapontment to his father, who only bore one son. Even after he displayed great talent for runic magics, specifically lightning enchantments, his father would spit with ire: "Any dwarf can slap runes on an axe! Your grandfather could split stone with his bolts! You're not one of us."
So he left. He wandered like so many shield dwarves of Faerun. He made friends and learned how to live off the land as the arctic dwarves do. After having many adventures, losses, and life experiences, Dhaz found himself a younger, beautiul arctic dwarven wife and settled down close to Draydon. His wife, Doykee taught him how to use a longbow nearly as proficinetly as a wood elf. They had a son and named him Janok. Their son, just like Dhaz, displayed no sorcerous talents. Dhaz cared for and loved him all the same. When Janok had a son of his own, Dhaz's grandson, it was discovered the young dwarf displayed powerful sorcerous abilities; much like Dhaz's grandfather.
Lately, Dhaz has been struck with wanderlust. Just like when he was younger. Coincidentally, Dhaz and his wife's farming, hunting, trapping, and trading have proven to be less and less profitable in recent decades. Market values for the simplicities of life around Draydon just aren't worth as much as they used to be. His recent urges to inquire about the Questers Guild in Draydon have inspired genuine jealousy in his loving wife. She hated when he would go hunt orcs for rich miners in the mountains, but at least Dhaz was good at it, he'd been doing it for so long and he knew those mountains so well. But going on dangerous expeditions with strangers like he used to a century ago?
After much heated debate, Dhaz convinced Doykee he must try something new. He would try and search out this Questers Guild he'd heard so much about over the years. If that didn't pan out, he could probably drum up some business by enchanting or hunting or guarding something. Anything other than mercenary work!
-Personality Description:
Dhaz is a very patient listener. He is very articulate and deliberate when he speaks. However, if a task isn't going as it should, or if inanimate objects are proving stubborn, Dhaz has been known to lose his temper and exlaim colorfully. He always regards others with care and respect.
Dhaz often comes off as a wise old dwarf, sharp as a cold iron blade. But he isn't as shrewd or cunning as he seems. Dhaz is prone to kooky mistakes if he isn't focused. But at least he's aware of his shortcomings. The dwarf tends to surround himself with more quick-thinking friends and allies. Or perhaps he's such a pleasant listener that others choose to be around him.
-Why have you come to Draydon?
Dhaz and his wife own a farm a few miles east of Draydon. He regularly visits the city for supplies and food like wheat, rice, and beans. And he trades his own grown crops and meat in the Market District. Although he is more than a bit out of practice, and local clientelle are slim to none, Dhaz has had just a little luck in making some gold by magically enchanting weapons.
While his woman prefers Dhaz stay around home and help, when he can't rub two silver pieces together and has trouble scrounging up a handful of copper, it's time for him to get back to his specialties for serious coin. He is an expert dungeoneer, scout, and mercenary. He can also hunt and trap dangerous beasts (although he often enlists the help of his wife with help concerning trapping and hunting). Unfortunately a lot of his best work comes from shady clients.
Dhaz has recently heard rumors of the Questers Guild of Draydon. And he wants in.
-Character Fighting Style:
Dhaz always maintains distance between himself and his target, when possible. Although he can get by with melee weapons, he is ten times as useful with 40 Ft and a composite longbow between hismelf and his target. Due to his dwarven strength, Dhaz can accurately use the powerful composite longbow to devastating effect. He uses stealth with hasty retreats and repositioning in between deadly volleys. If time allows, Dhaz may lay runic traps for doomed pursuers. He is known as The Orc Blaster by many in the Sword Mountains; if he uses his homebrew lightning arrows, the sound of each victim struck can bounce off the bluffs for miles.
