I took a look at this and it hit the right itch. Dark, horror, good possibility for my character to die... I'm in.

I'm considering a character that has in past started as a Fire Dancer, then was captured by a church and was offered a get-away / experimented upon so that he became a false paleblood hunter.

Well, though I'm honestly happy and relieved that someone has expressed interest in playing a Paleblood Hunter, there are two main points that might be problematic with the scenario you're considering here, @Habibi359. The first problem would be whether it would even be feasibly possible to become a false Paleblood Hunter while also qualifying as a Fire Dancer. Hmm...

Short version: it might be possible if the character was a Yharnamite before, not a Hunter.

The other problem is simple: why in the world would the Healing Church risk an experiment that might turn a known enemy of the church into a practically immortal super-soldier? I'm not entirely sure how to explain my way out of that one... The character would have to have made a pretty convincing gesture to justify the church to want to risk turning them into a false Paleblood Hunter.

This tells us that Gilbert was definitely a Yharnamite (he turned into a beast and immediately recognizes the player as a Hunter), but that he also suffers from something beyond normal blood ministration (he makes reference that "what inflicted [him] was incurable").

By this do you mean that Gilbert was born in Yharnam or that he has become a Yharnamite, which you describe as a person more receptive to blood healing, through receiving blood ministration for his illness? He describes himself as an outsider and talks about how the town gave him hope, so he's likely a foreigner like the player character, though the fact he has a Flamesprayer suggests a former association with the Healing Church of some kind.

I'm working on my character by the way, just... struggling to make a random Yharnam citizen seem interesting. I'm making a (false) paleblood as well.

I mean "Yharnamite" as in "person who has received blood treatment"; I primarily use Yharnamite as a descriptor for a particular state of existence rather than to refer to simply a person living in Yharnam (which is also why, in the OP, "Yharnamite" is listed under "race" separately from "human"). And yes, Gilbert was definitely a foreigner of some kind, I'd say. Whether he had an association with the Healing Church is a bit more open to interpretation, but yeah, Flamesprayer does suggest that he had been involved with them somehow. Maybe he was a low level cleric of some kind, since there were apparently a lot of things that the church never deigned to tell him? Or maybe Gilbert knew, but didn't want to betray the church by telling the player?

So much is open to interpretation in Bloodborne... it's great.

What are you all working on right now? I presume you're piecing together your characters, and I'd love to hear who they are going to be, even just as broad concepts yet.

Maybe @Bartimaeus and @Ashgan would like to discuss how we're going to start off the story for your finished characters?

Sure we can. So I don't know too much about how you envisioned starting things off, Jack, but I reckon it might make sense for Adelicia to have made the journey to the new Paleblood Hunters in order to impart her blessing upon the "newborn" hunters. But I'm open to other, more interesting and/or perilous premises also, depending on what avails itself.

Fyi, if too few people express interest in false Paleblood Hunters, I could conceivably make one also and play it on the side, just to play along. You clearly have ideas for them. :)

Adelicia making her way to the Paleblood Hunters would both make sense and be quite handy as far as storytelling goes, and avoid splitting the story into too many parts. I had already started planning a separate scene for her, but this works much better. I have just the NPC to start her off with, who was also supposed to be making their way to them.

If anyone else wants in on the Adelicia-going-to-receive-the-first-ever-batch-of-mass-produced-Hunters-who-are-also-Paleblood-Hunters, I think it would be a quite easy way to start the story for anyone in the Healing Church. They would certainly want to make an effort to avoid losing their precious experiments, along with the actual Paleblood Hunters, even if that "loss" might only be in a metaphysical sense in that they might die and discover the Hunter's Dream before the church has properly imprinted on the.

And for anyone having trouble coming up with interesting backgrounds for their characters, keep two things in mind:
I'm not actually asking for or requiring that your characters even have a background, especially if they are one of the prospective (false) Paleblood Hunters. It's not uncommon for humans undergoing metamorphosis to experience memory loss to varying extents, as seen with the player in Bloodborne (who forgets nearly everything), so they might not even know who they are or why they are there.
And by far most of the population of Yharnam is currently "outsiders"; people from beyond the lands associated with the city that moved there to partake in blood healing. There aren't a whole lot of people there who have been around for more than five years, since the Night of the Blood Moon killed a ton, turned another ton into beasts and nearly all of the rest mad. I'm not saying that you can't or shouldn't make a native of Yharnam, only that it would probably give you a lot of freedom and play well into the lore to say that your character is from somewhere else.

I might as well have Provostus come along. I imagine it would be beneficial to have a non-NPC hunter present that has some experience x3

@Dark Jack Thank you for the input, I have now written a character based on the feedback. I went on the route to be enemy of Fire Dancers, a member of White Healing Church and thus character volunteering to these experiments.

I have now made this outline for a character.

Well, for most part I figure it's fine, though... I feel like you missed a pretty essential part of my input on your initial idea. Right after a bunch of mulling over Bloodborne lore and theory, I wrote:

Short version: it might be possible if the character was a Yharnamite before, not a Hunter.
Dark Jack

The whole point of that entire theorizing-part and the conclusion after was that it's highly unlikely that it's possible to turn a Hunter into a false Paleblood Hunter due to their resistance to disease. From the biography you wrote I can tell that your character is still supposed to have been a Hunter before volunteering for the experiment.
We can go with that, if you like, but you'd be entering even more unknown territory than just regular false Paleblood Hunters. And your character wouldn't be in the clinic with all the others, since he wouldn't be rendered comatose by the metamorphosis, since he isn't actually changing. Someone would just give him an injection and tell him "go die and see if you survive".

I decided to write up something of a CS for the character that will be accompanying the group headed for the Paleblood Hunters, since it's possible that other characters from the Healing Church might at least know of him.

So! After cursing my lack of reading comprehension and hitting my head a few times, I have further modified the character's backstory. Keeping the themes (Revenge, humiliation, opportunity to gain power) and now hopefully having a backstory more in line with this roleplay. Though few considerations, if there's more modification needed:

1) Do you think that gang would be able to steal blood? Perhaps not from church itself, but from Yharnamites?
2) Would the Fire Dancers attack gangs like these? Possibly yes as they'd be smuggling goods, like blood.
3) Speaking of smuggling, would it be a plausible idea? I'd imagine not everyone is welcome to Yharnam, but man would have need for the blood, hence smuggling.

1: Well, blood is kind of everywhere. There's blood in people, there's blood in animals, and though it's comparatively foul and likely to turn you into a monster down the line, there's even blood in beasts. If these gangs decided to "steal" blood, it would be hard to stop them. Stealing "special blood" - like that used for blood healing or blood ministration - would be a lot harder; not only would it probably be kept in a safe place, but they would also be liable to attract the ire of the church and its Hunters.
But would they fundamentally be able to? Yes.

2: The Fire Dancers pretty much rob anyone, and if they resist, they fight.

3: Smuggling... what? Smuggling blood? In or out of Yharnam? As I outlined under 1, blood in general isn't exactly a scarce resource. If one was talking about smuggling special blood out of Yharnam, it would sell for an absolutely insanely high price... but as mentioned before, the church would also become very dissatisfied with them and might decide to remove them (and remember, this was an organization that was willing to spread a plague and potentially wipe out half a city for profit; hiding from the Healing Church isn't easy). If we're talking people, then yeah... everyone kind of is welcome in Yharnam. The Healing Church want as many subjects as possible, and blood treatment causes addiction; once you have Yharnam blood, you'll always crave blood.

One final comment: It's highly unlikely that the Healing Church would actually tell Marcus that they were going to make him any kind of special. They would most likely offer him a contract like any other Hunter and just infect him with false Paleblood without his consent or awareness.
It's much easier to control someone who is surprised, confused and frightened by a world they don't understand, after all, than someone drunk on their own power because they are "special".

By now I'd like two things: a tally on how many players we're still actually in for out of the ones that has expressed interest (so I'd like to hear from @Prizrak, @Th3King0fChaos, @Skwint, @Jarl Coolgruuf and @Lauder to confirm whether they are still in or not). If I don't hear from you, I'll presume that you weren't that interested and regrettably aren't actually going to be participating in the RP.

I'd also like to hear from @King Cosmos to see how that character is coming along, and to hear if I can help expedite things somehow.

Generally I'd like to get things moving sooner rather than later, before people lose interest in the RP altogether, so I'd also like to get a general idea of what characters people are working on. If no one else is working on characters with the Healing Church, for instance, I might get the scene with Adelicia, Provostus and Victor started.

Based on the feedback, I've now made church's false Paleblood hunter modification a surprise and modified gang times by dropping the smuggling in favor of robbing and occasional protection job.

I'm still planning on joining this, I just haven't had any time to work on my CS at all. I have everything put together except their backstory, but I already know what it's going to be and it's fairly simple so it's just a matter of getting it written up.
