The following is a disclaimer to this potential interest check.

I have DM’d Star Wars through Wizards of the Coast (Saga) and Fantasy Flight Games (Edge of Empire) over the years, though it has been a few years since I gave it a whirl. The 2013-2014 season was my last run.

I’m looking to give it another chance despite a hectic schedule and will be looking for long-term, patient players interested in a campaign told through Saga set in a parallel route to the current era of Star Wars. To save on forcing people to read countless hours of a wiki and a large pile of EU novels, I will be effectively starting from scratch. There is no basis of plot yet beyond this, so this is just a player search where we discuss who’d be interested, scheduling, etc as I build a proper synopsis going forward. So, would anyone want to join some kind of romp in this vein?

Comparatively speaking, I’m looking at the period between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens/New Jedi Order as the timeframe for this RP.

The Galactic Empire’s Moff’s and Admirals are still holding onto their pieces while the Rebel Alliance is breaking through on core worlds though they have yet to take Coruscant. The power vacuum created from Palpatine’s death has allowed a more hectic and wild era. So essentially this will allow us to focus on characters and planets in an interesting dynamic without having to worry about a Jedi Order or Galactic stranglehold. In many ways this is a successor of my original Saga tabletop campaign (Imperial Knights), though for all players that’s more of a fun trivia thing than an important hallmark to take heed of.

I think it will be interesting and give us a lot of freedom going forward as the universe shapes itself.

Time frame sounds okay to me, too, considering it's a good fit for smugglers, bounty hunters or even regular soldiers (which as you know is my bread and butter).

I’m still re-reading the source books, so it’ll be some time before I figure out how things are sorting out. If you have any questions or character ideas, feel free to field them here. What kind of themes, stories, challenges, and so forth would you prefer to see and so forth.

My first instinct is to explore the concept of Gray Jedi since I can't think of any sources outside of KOTOR where they actually play a role. Of course, that's also going to hinge on what everyone wants to do regarding Force Wielding characters.

Interested and curious. But I should mention that I have not played either ttrpgs that you mentioned. I only heard seen a few games of Edge of Empires, so depends on how this interest check goes, I'll do some self studying. But if you know of any nice online resources, that would be very helpful
