For this role play we will be having our story take place in the current year (2020)That said there is some time travel involved so the secondary timeline (where a large part of the role play will take place) will be in 2010. If my math is off a little let me know and I can make a correction. Since the 2000's there has been a massive moment of modernizing magic. Robes have begun to fall out of fashion and overall the magical world is letting the muggle world start to blend in. Fashion, music, and others but the actual communities are still mostly oblivious to each other.

Each of our characters are part of a new crop of professors at Hogwarts that were brought on at the personal request of the brand new Headmaster. Not much is known about the new Headmaster save for that he is rather odd and at times very care free. We now make up the youngest teaching staff that Hogwarts has ever had.The Headmaster has our backs and has simply told us to have one goal. Make lessons fun. This seem to come as no surprise to the very few people that knew the Headmaster. Apparently he has always been a rather eccentric man, who never taught at Hogwarts, and yet seems to have already gained more appreciation and knowledge of the school than anyone else.

This role play will start just before the new school year with a teachers meeting and then a quick time leap roughly 1 month into the first year at a similar meeting for the students first visit to Hogsmeade. During this meeting there will be a commotion which will gather us to the same location and launch us into the main part of the role play and back to the year 2010.

I am happy to answer any questions you might have, but please note that I have not COMPLETELY mapped out this entire idea. This is on purpose as I really am looking forward to this transforming and becoming our story. I am very interested in everyone helping build the story together as well as collaborate with each other, myself, and the world to create something we are excited and engaged in. I also want to note that I would rather this role play create, engage, and discover new aspects of the Harry Potter world and not anchor itself into the books and characters from the past.

Here is a completed character sheet people interested will need to fill out for them to be considered for this role play. More than happy to accept character sheets with more information so if you have a character from another role play that you want to use that is fine, but below is the must have for every sheet.

Thank you to everyone who has gotten their character sheets to me so far. Those that are due today you still have time to get it to me of course. I plan to review them tomorrow and get them accepted and posted in the character sheet before the end of day Saturday.

As far as the second part of the character sheet this will require some cooperation. Since all our characters spent the better part of 5 to 7 years together, they must have some sort of history! Each person will be required to draft a small summary of their characters thoughts and interactions with each other accepted character. They don't have to be super long but should at least tell us the following.

How well they know each other.
Are they Friends / Acquaintances / Enemies?
One short story of something they have done or been involved with together.
A basic idea of what they think of the person now.

Below is an example.

Character X and Character Y were sorted into the same house, so they knew each other from the get-go. Not friends or enemies they both had plenty of overlapping friends but were rarely if ever seen hanging out together without other people. The classes they shared had closer friends, so they didn't often partner together for class projects. One thing they do share is a love for their schools Quidditch team. Both would be the one taking their friends to watch practice and they never missed a game. The closest they ever got was in their 6th year when their house was in the Quidditch championship game and they were the two biggest leaders in getting the house ready to cheer their team on.

Since then their remaining time at Hogwarts would be spent with study heavy calendars they did try and go to the games together when they could. Since graduating their lives went in different direction; however, both are positive a nice conversation about Quidditch could be struck up if they saw each other again.

There is no immediate due date for this but once all the characters are completed and taken, I will start giving more specific expectations of a due date.

I think as time goes by the draw of Gryffindors has waned a lot. I remember early when I was role playing years ago there was a role play where everyone was in that house and it wasn't by design. Every person had a character who wanted to sport the red and gold.

Now people are more reserved in going to that house I guess lol

My goal right now is to have everyone wrap up their second character section before Thursday of this week so we can get going and hopefully have the IC up and running before the weeks end. If we don't make this deadline it isn't the end of the world, but I will ask that we all do our part to try and make it possible.

Quick Announcement - All characters will be from the same year. I made this decision as it will allow us to better streamline character interaction and some important plot points later on down the role play.

If anyone has any questions about this please let me know. For now I will alter the ages on everyone's character sheet so that they are 26 /27 years old. I know this might change a few character interactions, but I hope you understand that this will pay off greatly down the line of the role plays plot.
