Thanks for having me! I'm already making Abigail's vinyl collection lmfao
I have a question about character death, mainly how trigger happy you are for it right now? Edited for clarity: as in, some GMs are very stern on consequences, but would you attempt to negotiate and figure out compromises instead of offing a character after a severe blunder?
But if a character happens to get themselves into a really bad situation (like a duel with 5 Death Eaters) I will contact their writer about the possibility of death. Realistic danger will result in realistic consequences, but I would never blindside anyone with death or serious injury.
Second question and a point of debate between me and my friend - do guns work in areas of high magic?
Guns are mechanical instead of electronic and it makes sense that if we have gramophones and rudimentary projectors then a gun would work too. And how Do you out-cast a bullet? Unless you have a charm up already, I can't see a way to combat it.
An interesting question ... After some thought, I'd say that guns do indeed work in areas of high magic. As much as I hate to admit it, I think a gun would beat a spell in a duel unless the caster was able to forego the use of a spoken word.
It's highly unlikely that would come into play in this particular roleplay though, as our setting is pretty much exclusively focused on Hogwarts and Hogsmeade. Not a lot of muggles around.
Oh yeah definitely. I just wanted to hear your takw on it. I'm also begrudgingly accepting that guns are superior, but Abi doesn't have a Glock in her quarters.
Do the teachers live on campus like the students? If so, where?
Oh I see. Well, the IC goes up either tonight or tomorrow. I'm keeping the RP open for people to join for the foreseeable future. If it feels like we've reached our limit (probably 8 or more people) then I'll close it up.
Appearance: (TO BE ADDED; I HAVE THE PICTURES ON MY PHONE AND NEED TO TRANSFER OR LINK)Picture (real life), text description or both.
History: As all hufflepuffs tend to be Nico was a highly sociable individual. He used these talents to great success in school avoiding the normal house conflicts, and ultimately making friends with everyone. Though his home life was a rather restrictive one. Due to this despite his experiences in school he felt he hadn’t lived much Due to this, once he graduated he made his way out into the world looking for experiences most could never dream of. However amazing it turned out he managed to get himself into rather “questionable” deals. Some examples include; illegal dragon trade, smuggling of various controlled alchemical and magical substances, poaching of various animals, and maybe working as a Genovese crime family torturer. However after a long list of adventures and misadventures Nico returned to the safety and sanctity of Hogsmeade using what he’d saved from his life of crime to become a successful barkeep. His propriety “The Lost Loghouse” only being his pastime to meet people and share stories. His true passion is currently his series of books recounting various tales drawing from these experiences to further the adventure.
He also keeps a small talk show to entertain the youth and on weekends.
Personality: Nico acts as you’d expect a good barkeep; always wanting to learn about people and their experiences. He loves telling stories and chatting with anyone, the widest smile on his face. Though his nerves rack at the war that’s coming; he feels more prepared than most could be.
With the students he’s much more Laziz faire than most would be willing too; just to keep them from feeling strangled. He keeps a few beds open just Incase the kids need a place to stay.
Goal/Motivation: Nico survived with luck, and charm. Most don’t have enough of either to live the lifestyle he did, and seeks to make sure no student at hogwarts is driven to combat and torture. He’s done enough in his life blood is a reasonable payment; he’s not scared to die to protect the youth.
