“The Valkyrie”
473 R.C.║Zern Empire║Martian║Female
Physical Appearance
A 5’6” tall Caucasian-skinned Martian woman with brilliant but dark red hair styled into a simple short ponytail, which compliments her strangely red-colored eyes. She possesses dense, lean, and practical muscle on her body that is usually hidden underneath looser clothes, mainly gained from personal training and exercise. Though this doesn’t detract from her attractively curvy, and frankly busty, overall body shape. She seems to carry herself with a sense of confidence, though she seems distinctly more relaxed than rigid in this regard. She also isn’t afraid to shoot others some sort of look that communicates and conveys a simple and clear message, such as “fuck off” or “shut up you moron” being potential culprits.

Biography:
Lillian was genetically engineered and born the child of Archduke Franz Alexios Ferdinand of Londinium, and his wife Archduchess Priscilla Louisa Ferdinand, as the third of four children. The Ferdinand, directly descended from Umhalba’s Head Engineer so many generations ago, have been known for their long-entrenched support for the development of technology. Also known about them are their hopes of one day retrieving the secrets of the now-dead Earth, and their generally good relations with the royal family. In more recent years there was also the involvement of some Ferdinand family members in the development of the Mobile Suit, ever since the dawn of the Redcoat.
However, one family member in particular sought to take over as Archduke himself. Johann Cedric Ferdinand, an uncle on Lillian’s father’s side of the family, one day kidnapped his baby niece in a more drastic attempt to subvert the rule of his older brother. The idea had been to get rid of her, and supplant one of his own children into the Ferdinand’s “line of succession”, which initially seemed to work. Johann subtly took Lillian and handed her off to an Enforcer far away from her real home, who he paid to take her off of his hands and never told her real identity to. A search was had to find the missing child, once she was found to be missing the next day, and a massive manhunt was undergone to look for her.
Meanwhile the Enforcer, one Hiroshi Takahashi, initially almost seemed to regret this big payday he had just received for seemingly free. But having desired a child of his own after the loss of his own wife and child years ago, and seeing some big easy money he very much needed at the time, the man had taken up this strange and shady given to him. Though he had no idea where the child had come from, nor where she’d been, the man felt a fondness and sympathy for the child whose first name was the only thing he knew about her. He merely assumed she was some illegitimate child handed off to keep her out of family matters, which was a depressing idea as any to even his mind. Nicknaming her “Sakura”, after the flowering cherry trees near his home, Hiroshi sought to raise and train her to be strong over the next many years. Cooking and cleaning were naturally passed on, but more so how to wield a gun or knife to stay safe on the streets.
Hiroshi himself was a notorious Enforcer by trade, which not only affected the skills he taught his daughter as she grew...but also in part how he rubbed off on her personality-wise as well. Indeed, Hiroshi’s “daughter” seemed to grow into quite the lovely-looking and tough tomboy naturally over those first many years. Though while wishing she had a better future ahead of her, the man did work to prepare her to enter his own line of work as an Enforcer. This was because to him, being an Enforcer was all he knew of value...and was the only set of skills he felt he could pass down properly at that. Of course family recipes and other small things he’d kept close to him in life were handed down in turn as well, as the man sought to leave something less violent to his daughter. In return for all he did for her, however, Lillianna came to genuinely care for and love her ‘father’ in return.
Yet...this more humble life would not last for seemingly very long. At the age of 12, after years of searching and seeking using private means and capital, Archduke Franz Alexios Ferdinand found his missing daughter in an unexpected place. It happened when Lillianna was taken to a Martian hospital by Hiroshi for the first time, to get her tested for what kinds of genetic engineering had been done to her after his years of curiosity on the matter. Though this was mainly done to determine if she had any potential issues left unchecked, or advantages to be noted, DNA analysis of the blood sample that was taken from her came back as a shock. Calls were made, an array off security guards were posted in front of the examination room she was in, and within the hour the Archduke and Archduchess had rushed to the hospital after being told the news. Lillianna and Hiroshi found themselves in for the surprise of a lifetime, at least after Hiroshi had been detained for a time and ultimately interrogated by authorities.
What information Hiroshi could give was eventually traced back to Lillianna’s uncle over the next several months, leading to the noble man’s arrest, imprisonment, and stripping of his nobility by the Archduke in a fury. Yet the entire event of her re-discovery and eventual arrest of her uncle placed Lillianna into the middle of a media frenzy as well, alongside a sudden rush of new family and siblings and status she had never experienced before. Eventually the Archduke deigned to let Hiroshi go free after reasons he left unstated to the media and public. More so, he thanked the man in person for helping nurture his daughter whilst she was lost, and granted him permission to keep in contact with Lillianna for her sake. Of course, Lillianna could not continue living with Hiroshi...and indeed a lot more change was to come as well.
The two years that followed all of this left Lillianna being put through a “ringer” of an adjustment period, to say the very least. Noble-tier general education, etiquette classes, fencing instruction, and the like came upon her in a flurry as he parents doted on her and sought to “catch her up” to her peers and siblings in all the important ways. They spent long hours even just talking to her, asking what her life was like, about what things she liked and disliked, and trying to get to know her as best as they could. On the other hand, the girl herself found all it pressuring and stressful, yet despite her initial wariness and the issues that naturally arose from it all she eventually began to adjust. Indeed, at least by the end of her second year “back home” she had generally come to fit in the framework of her family and care for them. Yet after it became apparent she was someone who had a knack for combat, showing potential or talent in more hands-on areas such as fencing and her self-defense classes, the Archduke and Archduchess agreed after much discussion to send her to the military academy on Deimos in an attempt to help her better thrive than she was doing at home.
Enrolled into the military academy on Deimos at the age of 14 in 487 R.C., with the support and insistence of her parents, Lillianna found herself in a place that was far beyond her expectations. Classmates who competed for top scores and performance, practical exercises in simulated reality, and eventually even training in Mobile Suit piloting that came later on...all which seemed to help Lillianna blossom in full and eventually go “full throttle” straight into the military afterwards by her own determination. Though she never became a “higher-up” officer, mainly due to her personality and occasional disobedience to protocols and the like, she did eventually rise to and has maintained the rank of Avocati splendidly due to her skills and later accomplishments in battle. While her superiors might sigh at her antics at times, they haven’t wanted to lose her as a soldier either.
Yet between the tensions on Luna and Venus, as well as her and her squad having been pulled in as security for some upcoming tech expo on Venus, only time will tell what her future will hold...
Other Details: A select few of her former comrades, alongside her parents and siblings back home, have knowledge of one of her most personal and deeply-held secrets. AKA: Lillianna possesses a sizable Princess Asallia music and memorabilia collection. She has even been to a couple of concerts over the years on the side, though her true feelings for the princess have gone ultimately unspoken and remained humbly silent.
Skills and Abilities
-Cooking: More of a personal hobby picked up from her ‘adoptive father’, who had it as his own kind of hobby, Lillianna is an amateur cook of many years experience who has a passion for good eats. From recipes passed down to her before and after her “re-discovery”, to spending time in the Ferdinand estate’s kitchens, to even spicing up food for her and her squadmates when eating rations she seems to have a fun time with it all. Her eyes seem to light up when she talks about food and cooking, and potentially get her rambling about it all if poked about the right topic.
-Refined Human: Being a blue-blooded noble and having a long history of genetic engineering and modification in her very blood, Lillianna is a refined human of higher grade like so many others of status on Mars (and especially members of the royal family) are. Possessing superior overall physical capabilities are greater than that of a normal human, Lillianna is in addition more resistant to disease and illness. Like other Refined, Lillianna can also enter a state of heightened physical performances known as "Overclocking": a state she is temporarily able to react, move, and process information at a considerably faster rate. This enhances her ability to fight inside and outside of the cockpit, though is difficult and exhausting to maintain.
-Superb Soldier: Despite her personal history of “coloring outside the lines” at times when it comes to following military protocol or orders, her reliability and fighting skills as an MS pilot/soldier are two things of which her superiors and others around her have no doubt of nor scorn for. Whether on the ground or in space her combat skills and capability have been of note many times over in her actions, from single-handedly defending her squad-mates when they were suddenly isolated and against a far larger pirate force, to leaping into battle to drag a superior officer out of danger, to even dragging wounded rookies back to safety whilst firing on the enemy. She has been selected for risky or special missions at times to boot, and her skills and reputation have gained her the trademark moniker she carries even now.
Personal Items and Equipment
-Pilot Suit: A sleek and modern looking suit for piloting a MS, reinforced with padding to reduce kinetic damage along with some nanocarbon plating that protects from small arms fire. Though not styled to look like the same type of suit worn by a “certain princess”, it does bear the Ferdinand Family Crest and was a gift that Lillian was given upon her graduation from the military academy.
-5.56mm Custom Revolver (6 chambers): A graduation gift from her father after getting recommendations from Hiroshi, packing high stopping power and a holster for easy carrying and quick withdrawal.
-Nanocarbon Wakazashi Sword: A blade of the same style that Hiroshi wields personally in his work as an Enforcer (itself based on an ancient blade his ancestors brought to Mars), which was bought at some cost by the man and sent to Lillianna as a graduation gift. Usually kept sheathed on her right side, the blade is short enough for close quarters combat and combines the might of nanocarbon with ancient style.
Strengths and Weaknesses
Ever the reliable and dedicated soldier in battle, wielding a noticeable energy and 'thinking on her feet' approach to boot, one can always count on Lillianna to both have their backs and get the job done as best as possible. Even outside of battle she is someone that comrades and those close to her can rely on well, easily approach even, which has made her squad a group her superior have dumped new recruits into over time. Lillianna listens to protocol and orders and the rules generally well, being a soldier, and both owns up to her mistakes as well as tries to be conscientious on the battlefield at times. Her combat skills and long hours spent piloting her MS even in training have also forged her into a capable and strong soldier in her own right.
Yet while she is overall good at biting her tongue, she can still easily go off in the heat of the moment if angered or frustrated enough. Indeed the manner in which she goes about things can distinctly 'break convention' as well, with her more likely breaking protocol or disobeying an order when the situation has become very dire, notably desperate, or come to some form of extreme. This method of 'improvisation under extreme stress' and how its performed, however, can waver from useful to dangerous for herself and those around her. It has also generated both conflict with some and praise around her during the course of her career thus far, and is one likely reason she hasn't become an officer over the years to boot.
