Starter:
The full moon had filled the sky during the night. There was a strange melody in the air. It sounded pretty, like the music of a flute. But, as soon as it began, it quickly stopped. It had seemed to go on for hours. When it ended, everyone thought that was that. But, they were wrong. They have awakened in the morning to find many of their own missing. Now, what are they to do?

Let us begin.

Margaret groans softly as she opens her eyes and slowly sits up. She frowns as she looks around, not recognizing anything. She gets to her feet carefully, unsure of what exactly had happened to her and what the potential damage the occurrence brought to her health.

Sarah Phillips awoke with a groan. The last thing she remembered was waking up in the middle of the night and hearing strange music. The rest was a complete blur to her. Now, she was in a strange place, in a strange room. There was a stone floor and stone walls. The bed looked to be quite old. The window was dusty with a few cracks in the wooden window frame. There were bars on the window. There were cobwebs and dust all over the room. The only furniture besides the bed was a small table and a candlestick, along with a single chair. She gasped, ran to the door, and tried to open it, only to find it locked. She was trapped in a strange, unknown place.

Margaret sneezes at the dust and cobwebs clouding the room. The room and the furniture seem to be very old, and uninhabited for a long time. She frowns as she walks up to the door and inspects it. Deeming it locked, she tears out a strip of the lining of her dress to wipe the dust off of the bed before sitting on it.

Korash awakens in the local tavern. Stumbling to the bar, his feet still unsure of their footing from the night before. An uncomfterble tightness slowly working up through his stomach. A familiar pain radiating through the back of his head. He slammed down a handful of coins onto the bar, a little harder than he had meant to. Wincing at the sound he had created. "A large serving of whatever you are serving for breakfast today. Preferably something greasy." The bar held most of his weight as he lent against it. "No problem, sir. Take a seat. I'll have someone bring it out to you shortly." Korash smirked. "Thanks, mate." Was the half Orc's response. "Again, no problem. The amount of money you were pouring over the bar last night more than made up for the mess you made." The barkeep gestured to a pool of vomit on the ground. "I found you some clean clothes, and got you cleaned up, but you adamantly refused a room." Korash touched his hip, feeling for his sword. A look of panic flooded his face as it was not there. The barkeep seemed to know what he was looking for. "Your sword is on your back." Korash felt there, to find it was secured on his back. Breathing a sigh of relief. He moved off to find a table.

Settled at a table, the barkeep had brought his food over as well a flagon of water. As he took a swig of the cool water, the door to the tavern burst open. Before Korash could place the flagon back on the table, the Tavern was filled with yelling. "She's gone!' Korash winced at the yelling. It was too loud, and he was too hungover. Placing the flagon down he stood up slowly. "Quite please." He held out a hand to gesture that the woman be calm. "Who's gone?" He asked. The answer was the yelling woman's daughter. Just as the barkeep had got this woman settled enough that she stopped yelling, another person came in. Yelling again. Apparently more people had gone missing.

Korash sat back at his table and ate, as the barkeep struggled to keep the sudden influx of panicking people in control. Korash wanted to help, but he needed to finish his breakfast first.

Margaret frowns and closes her eyes, trying to piece memories together. "The music is the key," she murmurs.

It was a morning quieter than most in Selestra's district, and that usually meant that things were not exactly normal. Plagued by a feeling of uneasiness, the young musician left her rented room at an inn and made her way out into the streets. Finding them to be mostly deserted, she only grew more anxious. Light footsteps were then heard approaching before three children appeared around the corner, seeming to be in quite a hurry. Selestra called to them, inquiring if they knew what had happened. To her dismay, they only stared at her for a second before continuing on their way without a word. She was certain that most of the children in this part of town were familiar with her and enjoyed her performances, and what had just taken place caused her to believe that something was very wrong. She decided to follow the children, and made her way in the direction they had run off in. She finally came to where a large group of people were gathered and talking among themselves. As she neared the group, a middle-aged woman turned and pointed an accusing finger at her.

"There she is, the little trickster! I always knew that she would cause us harm one day. So many of you were taken in by her charms, including my son. Now, he has vanished with the rest of them!"

Selestra could only be confused and alarmed at her words as the rest of the people started shouting similar allegations at her. "I am fairly certain that I have nothing to do with whatever you are accusing me of. If any of you could simply explain-"

"Liar!" The woman cut her off. "Arrest her and make her confess, make her tell us where they are!"

Several guards pushed through the crowd and started to stride towards her. Selestra's eyes widened, quickly coming to realize how much trouble she was in. She instinctively turned and ran, knowing that the guards were giving chase when she heard the quickening of their footsteps. With her amazing agility, she scaled low walls, leaped over small obstacles, and darted around corners to escape them. She gave them quite a challenge, and managed to lose many of them. However, she eventually found herself cornered in an alley as two guards approached her. Trapped, she had no other option but to use a spell. She quickly muttered a few words under her breath before blowing one of the guards a kiss. The other was puzzled for a short moment, and just as he realized what she was doing, his partner hit him in the head, knocking him unconscious. The charmed guard walked up to her and took her by the shoulders.

"Are you alright, my dear lady?"

Selestra nodded. "What is going on here? Why has everybody turned on me?"

"The melody from a flute that was played through the town the night before, it took many of its residents away. We do not know where they are or what has happened to them. Everybody believes that you are an accomplice of whoever was responsible for this," the guard replied.

Selestra was distressed by the answer. Granted, she was rather notorious among some for her mischievousness, but she would never want to put this town through what she had been told had taken place. One thing was for certain, and that was that she could not solve this right now, whatever the solution might be. Her spell was going to wear off soon, and she had to escape before it did.

"Could you give me some time to leave town?" She asked the guard.

"Certainly, my lady," was his response before he stepped out of the alley and called to the other guards.

She then heard a shout of "I saw her go this way!", and the sound of running footsteps. Once they could no longer be heard, she snuck out of the alley and warily made her way back to the inn. She climbed the walls of the building and through the window of her room, and immediately grabbed a bag once she was inside her room. She hastily filled the bag with her belongings, after which she left through the same window. By the time the guard would snap out of her spell and realize that he had been charmed by her, she would be gone from the town.

Sarah was pacing the room. She needed to find away out. She tugged at the bars on the windows but to no avail. They did not give. They were too strong. They felt like they had been reinforced with some kind of magic. She teared up after a while. Sarah was unsure of what to do. The young woman was feeling helpless. She was normally able to defend herself, but in that situation it was different. The circumstances had changed. Suddenly, she heard some kind of music being played in the air and she felt dizzy. She blacked out after that. When she awoke again a few minutes later, she felt unusually calm, like she wanted to stay even though she truly wanted to go home.

Margaret frowns when familiar music begins to play and she wills herself to stay conscious. However, the spell eventually wins over and she passes out. Once she’s conscious, she finds herself wanting to stay. Then she ponders why, and soon she’s in an internal battle with the spell. She groans and clutches her head because of the confusion.

Darksoul walks into town, hearing the cries of panic, and draws his sword. Where's the threat? The sword hums with his deadly power, and he looks around for the source of the screaming. Which doesn't help that much, as many people are screaming.

Sarah suddenly heard a voice inside her head. She groaned a bit and clutched her head. She found herself unable to fight it, unable to fight back. She heard an order being given to her. She heard someone telling her to start cleaning the room and then she would be let out to do other things. She nodded once. She could not disobey for some reason. She grabbed a rag that was suddenly tossed into the room through the gap underneath the door and she began to dust the room.

(I figured the king or whomever could be npc unless someone takes the role.)

Margaret continues to clean, ignoring the voice commending her. The voice tells her that she'll be let out when she's finished, and she ponders what could be worse, staying locked in a room that was becoming familiar or being released into the unknown with a slim chance of escape.

Selestra clung tightly to the tree branch that she was resting on, panting from the escape she had just pulled off. She had managed to climb up a tall tree just outside of town, and quite sure that the guards would have caught on by now, decided to stay in hiding while she planned her next steps. Someone, or something had taken these people away, and it had something to do with that flute music the night before. Could it be some sort of hypnotic spell? Where was she to even start? Suddenly hearing footsteps, she quietened her breathing and peered down through the leaves. A couple of the town's guards passed by under her. She waited until they were gone, and then carefully dropped herself to the ground.

She took a quick glance around the forested area, catching sight of a gleaming object in one of the bushes as she did so. She walked over to the item of interest and picked it up, finding it to be an intricate bracelet adorned with small gems. Someone must have dropped it while making their way through the forest. Looking right ahead, Selestra could tell that a new path had been forcibly cut through the vegetation. In the distance, something else had been caught on a twig and was flapping in the wind. She continued down the path, discovering the second object to be a piece of torn cloth, possibly ripped from someone's clothing. Could they have been taken this way? She broke into a run, letting the strange path take her away from the town.

Margaret sighs heavily as she braces her hands on her hips, looking around with a scrutinizing gaze, inspecting every square inch for an escaped speck of dust. She was taught by the best of her family's staff, after all. After finding nothing else to clean effectively, Margaret allows a sliver of a smile to grace her lips. The door to her cell- er, room, opens with a grating sound, almost as if the door had been used one too many times.
