Sam growled softly but nodded in agreement as he slowly stood. Damn that kick hurt. "Do you think he really knows what we are?" He asked, watching them disappear around the corner. Whatever was going on, he didn't like it at all. It was too odd, fishy even.

Dean knew Sam wanted to go help them. Keep the girl out of danger. But right now it wasn't worth the trouble. They could use the cities cameras and find her. Use that picture to look her and the guy she was with up on the internet if there was anything notable to find. "Don't know Sammy. They might." He turned back from the direction they came, taking a slower pace considering Sam's injured balls. "You heard what he said: 'We're dealing with it'. They must be Hunter's too. And right now I think they just chewed more than what they can swallow and they need help rather they need it or not." Dean explained. "We can get ID's through the network and use the town's cameras to watch em while we go around town ourselves. Maybe we can even ask Bobby is he knows the two, I don't know." Dean sighed and slight frustration. They needed to figure it out and fast before that girl got killed.

"Hopefully we get answers." Sam said as he dusted himself off. "Come on, let's see what we can find about the disappearances. At least that will give us something to go off of." He glanced one last time at where the two had left before following Dean away.

Back at the hotel, Sam called Bobby up, giving him the description of the girl and man. "Know anything about them?"

While Sam was getting ahold of Bobby, Dean was doing some research on a Laptop while looking at the files and checked in the areas they were killed. Maybe see if they were around any building to pinpoint and check. Dean also decided to use the cities cameras to locate the two they ran into earlier and see where they were housed and see what they were doing within a close time-frame. It was the best he could do but that way he could track them.

"Well, from what you're telling me by description, they don't sound familiar to me. If you had names, I might be able to ask the hunter network. Why are you idjits up to?" He asked, the sound of suspicion in his voice.

"Look, we're just trying to figure out why a group of vampires are going around teen girls with brown hair and this kid matches the description of the victims! Maybe you can cut me some slack!" Sam snapped. That was one of the problems about being soulless; he was short tempered and blunt.

The areas the girls appeared all centered around an old warehouse perfect for vampires to roost and drain blood. However the cameras proved tricky as they rarely showed up, only appearing briefly before disappearing again. It was like they didn't want to be followed.

Creaking could be heard from Bobby's chair as if he was sitting straighter in it with the way Sam was speaking to him. "I suggest you settle your tkne with me boy. You're the one who called be and I'm allowed to ask questions so don't you tell me to cut you slack, princess." His tone dropped as if scolding Sam. He was allowed to be worried his boys rather Sam liked it or not. "So if you're done having your little tantrum, I suggest you unknot your little boy panties and helping me out to help you. Got it?" He asked, calmning down a little himself after Sam's outburst.

Now that Dean had a location, he could focus on the guy and the girl. He was surprised how well they dodged the cameras and had to commend them on this. Sadly this meant that it would be hard to use this to figure out who they were. The older Winchester paused when he heard Sam snap at Bobby before he went back to what he was doing. He had to admit that Sam's attitude was getting on his nerves and couldn't understand why. It was out of character for Sam. He was usually more level headed than Dean. Maybe he was worried for the girl. He could understand that. He was worried too. For now he waited till Sam was done with his call with Boddy.

Sam sighed deeply as he was scolded by Bobby for his actions. He knew he was in the wrong, especially after everything Bobby had done for them. "I'm sorry. I just want this over and done with." He replied.

"It's just the way they acted...they have to be hunters. The girl could fight but there was fear in her. Like she's being followed. The guy didn't look related to her." He explained before a random thought appeared in his head.

"Bobby, you wouldn't happen to know any Hunter families, would you?"

Sam could hear Bobby sigh, knowing the two had it rough at times. But they had to understand he was always there for them. "It's alright son. I understand." The was some silence for a minute or two listening to Sam and what was going on. It made sense after all. Especially why they were worried about these two individuals. They were like them. "There are. Some older than others. There was also a family older than any other within the Hunter community but their name has been nothing but rumor and legend. Supposedly all died out. Ever heard of 'Van Helsing'?" Bobby asked.

"Van Helsing? As in the guy who killed Dracula in the book?" Sam asked in reply, raising an eyebrow before putting Bobby on speaker. "Bobby, you're talking about a character in a book who doesn't exist. Stoker probably didn't know vampires actually existed let alone hunters." He pointed out.

Could there be a chance that they were part of that family though? The way the man knew what they were, and the girl's fear...it was impossible.

Dean was looking to Sam as he put Bobby on speaker, wondering what was going on that Sam did this. There was a scoffed sound from the other line that made Dean raise a brow in suspicion.

"Boy, then I suggest you tell that to him. You should know that such things have truth to legends and myth. From what I understand there is a record of the Van Helsing and their family tree recorded but some of that was lost and only pieces remain. Hence the books." Bobby explained.

It was Dean who chimed in. "So wait. You're saying that these Van Helsings were actually real and turned to fiction characters. Wouldn't they be the first Hunters in existence?" Dean asked.

"You got it. The very first." Boddy confirmed. "Now. Here's what I want to know. Are you thinking these two mystery individuals you ran into are part of that family?" Having connected the dots to Sam's questions. Dean looked to Sam on this.

"There's a possibility, the question is which one?" Sam asked, glancing over at Dean. Another hunter family? And one of the most famous ones at that? This was strange even for them. "Think you can do some digging, maybe find out any surviving records?" He asked. He wanted to be sure before going after them.

"I can see what I can dig up. In the mean time still keep an eye on them, even if that little girl is a victim to those Vampires. I'll call when I find something concrete." Bobby said.

Dean glanced to Sam before responding. "Will do Bobby." "Later." Then there was a click and the line was dropped by Boddy. Dean looked to Sam then turned the Laptop around for him to see. "Got a pinpoint on the Nest for the Vampires. These girls were all killed around this old warehouse. Question is, take out the nest or check on our two mystery people and see if we can talk to them some more."

"Honestly, I'm not sure. Taking care of the vampires means the deaths stop, but if we go after them we could get some answers hopefully." Sam replied with a sigh. Either one meant delaying the other. "Maybe we'll meet up with them at the nest. Work together to get rid of them. It's the only thing I can think of that's reasonable."

Dean could understand how hard it was to choose between one or the other. Though to see if they were willing to work together as a possibility. "It's worth a try. Let's get going then and see if we can catch them before they go inside that warehouse. It's still pretty early." The older Winchester then got up out of his seat, closed the laptop and went to change into normal clothes since they no longer needed to be in the damn suits. When Sam was ready, they went to the Impala and headed toward the old warehouse.

It was upon reaching the warehouse that Dean parked his Baby where it could stay hidden but the entrance well within sight to keep an eye out for the girl and the guy she was with.

"Dean." Sam said, pointing to a car not too far down the road they were just on. It didn't seem anyone was inside...especially since it was wrapped around a tree. Worried, Sam ran over to the car to assess what happened. There was blood on the passenger window as well as the steering wheel indicting whoever was in the car was injured.

Sam looked around for clues as to what happened to the driver and passenger. "They couldn't have gotten far." He said before a wounded cough rang out towards the direction of the warehouse.

Dean looked where his brother pointed. Seeing the state of the car, was when Dean hurried out to the car with Sam, a pistol in hand with the safety on. When they were checking what could be seen, Dean had to wonder what had happened and who was in the car. Were they okay? Where did they go? It was when Dean's attention was on the same coughing that Sam heard. The older ran toward the warehouse and inside it, safety off and watching his surroundings for anything and everything while following the sound of the coughing. Silver bullets in the clip and ready to go. He hadn't thought twice that Sam had his back as he had gone in the building despite what maybe within.

After a bit of searching, a bloodied hand latched onto Dean's forearm as the man they met earlier that day tried staying on his feet. He was a mess, covered in bite marks, deep scratches, and wounds that confirmed vampires rested here and had taken their fill with him. "E-Evie...you have...to find...Evie...k-keep her...s-safe..." He struggled to say.

"If they...find out she's...a...a...Van...Helsing...they'll kill her..." He coughed, violently hacking up blood that splattered on the floor. He looked at the brothers, knowing he didn't have much longer. "P-Promise me you'll...become her...guardians...please...promise me..."

Focused on the search, Dean had not expected to have a hand reach out and grab his arm. His first reaction was to bring his arm forward and to throw the person off balance to point his gun at the attacker's head. But that was short-lived when he changed his action and grabbed the guy to keep him upright. "Shit...Sam, help me here!" The guy they had met earlier looked like he had held off many Vampires and paid for it. He helped the guy to sit on the ground and rest against a wall to keep him upright.

What surprised the Winchester was the request this guy wanted from the brothers. To watch over this 'Evie', which he guessed was the girl and be her guardians. What surprised him, even more, was the fact that she was the Van Helsing, the most famous and thought to be an extinct family in the Hunter community. It was quite the last wish, and this man was trusting us with his Ward. He glanced at Sam, figuring that he knew what his brother's answer would be. Looking back to the young man, Dean nodded. "I promise. We'll keep her safe and be her guardians." Giving his promise, placing his hand on the dying man's shoulder.

"T-Tell her...I'm sorry...I promised her...I'd always be there...I'm sorry, Evie...I'm..." The man choked out before letting out a final, soft sigh as his eyes glazed over. Death had welcomed him into the afterlife. Despite not having a soul, Sam couldn't help but feel sorry for the poor man who sacrificed his life to protect a kid. He reached over and gently closed the man's eyes before sighing.

He was going to say something before a high pitched scream of terror and pain rang out further into the warehouse, the same scream a teenage girl would make. He quickly looked at Dean in worry, hoping they weren't too late.

Dean had watched as the man died in front of them, his heart dropped as he lowered his head, knowing there was nothing else they could have done but give his dying wish. As much as he had witnessed death and delivered it for most of his life, this still brought grief for him. A person that was pulled into a Hunter's life to protect someone they cared for most. Now the protection of the kid was now their's to bare and help keep a long-living, and probably the last of the family alive. Dean had ignored the blood that was now on his person as he gave his moment of silence for the man before his head snapped up in a sharp turn to the scream that he and his brother heard that was further within the warehouse. Dean then looked to his brother before getting to his feet quickly and taking off with Sam to the source of the scream that was Evie. A new source of motivation carrying him forward and willing to kill those who would stand in his way. He was a feared Hunter for a reason, same with his brother.
