"Someone we can trust?" Evie asked, tilting her head to one side in curiosity. With all this information being dumped on her, it was natural for her to question everyone's alignment. Cas she at least knew she could trust. "Yeah, you can trust Bobby. He's been there for us since we were kids." Sam replied.

Always there whenever their father left for a hunt, leaving them alone for days on end. Patching them up from a hunt or exploring the area around his house. More of a father figure than John had been.

"He may be blunt but he cares. More of a tough-love kind of thing but you'll like him. He's helped on more hunts than I can remember, even if all he gave us was information on something we didn't know. Even gave us hunts if we were near it." Dean added, glancing through his rearview. "I guess we could take this time to see what you know. "We'll quiz you and if you don't know, that's alright. We'll tell you. We should be at Bobby's by nightfall, if not tomorrow." Dean explained. "So how do you protect yourself from a ghost?"

They took the drive to see what she knew and what she didn't know, stopping at a gas station to grab gas and some snacks before hitting the road some more.

"Salt or anything with iron in it. If you can find their grave or whatever they're tied to, burn it so they can be put to rest." Evie replied, smiling proudly at her answer. She had dealt with a few ghosts when she was younger so that was easy for her. She did guess her best at the ones she wasn't sure about sometimes getting it right.

"Are there ways to kill a demon? I know salt and traps prevent them from moving, holy water and symbols hurt them, and an exorcism sends them back to hell." She said, genuinely curious. If they were going up against one she wanted to be prepared.

"If you're an angel like Cas, you can smite them. Seeing as how we're human, we have the demon blade." Sam replied, grabbing it to show her.

"Cool." She said, fascinated by the dark blade with carved symbols.

Dean was proud of Evie for making honest guesses and thinking about them as she was given the answer to the questions. He heard Evie being curious about how to take care of demons. When Sam told her about the demon blade and showed it to her, he noticed her interest. "If you also have an angel's blade, it can also kill a demon," Dean added. "If you need to stop an angel, holy oil set ablaze can stop an angel in their tracks. If they try to go through it, they can get killed. An Angel blade on an angel can kill them too if you can get one."

Evie nodded as she took in the information before looking out the window for a moment, letting silence hang over them. "Do you think the angels wanting the apocalypse would go after me?" She asked softly, frightened of the truth. If they did, at least she knew of a few ways to protect herself.

Sam looked at Dean as Evie questioned them, unsure of how to answer at first. "Even if they did, we won't let them. Neither would Cas."

Dean looked to Sam briefly when Evie asked about the winged dicked. He had to admit they most likely would. He hadn't entertained the possibility till now and right now as much as he didn't want to think about it. "Exactly. But if by chance that happens, we want to make sure you have the ability to defend yourself, stall them at least till we can help."

"Got it." Evie said with a nod, once again back to the little trooper she was. She went back to looking out the window seeing the landscape rush by as they drove on. After a while she had nodded off, her breathing steady and shallow. Sam glanced at her before sighing softly then turning to Dean.

"What did we get ourselves into? Are we even sure we can take care of her? She shouldn't be like us, Dean. She's just a kid."

Dean noticed how she eventually had fallen asleep, guessing she hadn't slept well the night before, or was still tired from all that happened. Either way Dean felt bad, knowing that she could never have the 'apple pie' life like so many people in this world.

Dean listened as he voiced his opinion about themselves and Evie. He was preaching to the world on his like he was been thinking about this whole time. "I know, I know. I don't want this for her either. But what else can we do? What do you think would happen if she didn't end up with us? She most likely be dead or something." Dean explained. "I don't like it either. But we made a promise to her former guardian. At least we can do is make sure she's protected and has the means to. It's hard for me too Sam, trust me when I say she's too young for this. But her name makes her an enemy for many and a huge target. That's why I want to go see Bobby. See what can be done while she's with us." Dean finished.

Sam sighed softly before nodding in agreement, knowing Dean was right. They couldn't leave her alone especially with everything going on. She'd be dead within a week if that by herself. "Alright, we'll see what Bobby has and train her. Much as I don't like it." He said.

When they arrived at Bobby's, Evie awoke blinking at the slightly run down home and the junkyard behind it all. "This is his place?" She asked as she got out of the car with them, heading towards the front door.

"Yeah. Now the thing about Bobby is he's a little-" Sam said before the door opened to show a grizzly of a man with a white and blue baseball cap. He quickly threw water on all three of them, cutting off Sam and causing Evie to shriek in surprise and shock.

"Paranoid." Sam finished, spitting out water as Evie sputtered.

"You me both...." Dean whispered.

It was within the evening when they made it to Bobby's but Dean relaxed when they got out of the car and walked toward the door with their stuff in hand. As much as he thought it was good to warn Evie about Boddy's paranoia, that was a little too late as Bobby had answered Dean's knock and was splashed with holy water. Dean had closed his eyes tight at the oncoming water and wiped his eyes to give a slight glare at Boddy. "Really? You have demon traps at the doors for a reason." Dean countered with a small smirk.

Bobby scoffed before looking at with raised brow. "You calling me an ijdit Dean?" He asks with slight annoyance. Dean gave his 'uncle' and pointed look. "Nope. Pointing the fact that you just like splashing us with Holy Water way too much." Dean argued. Bobby barked out a laugh as Dean went over to give the man a hug, then going over to Sam to do the same thing. "Good to see you boys." He greeted. Once he released Sam before walking in the door while letting the three in. When they were in the living-room did Bobby turn around and look to at Evie. "Come over here sweetheart. Let me get a good look atcha." Waving the girl over closer to him and not hiding behind the boys. Dean looked to Evie giving her and encouraging nod towards Bobby. "He won't bite." Trying to be reassuring.

Evie watched Dean and Bobby banter before hugging and letting them in. She looked around the place taking in every detail. It was cosy, bookshelves lining one wall full of books that no doubt held millions of information on the supernatural. She could see a set of stairs leading to the upper floor and what seemed like a dinning room turned into a study as well as the kitchen not too far off.

Upon hearing Bobby call her over, she nervously looked at the brothers getting reassurance from Dean and a gentle nudge from Sam. She approached the older hunter with a shy smile before offering her hand to him. "Evelyn Van Helsing." She said.

Boddy smiled before reaching out to take her hand and give a firm handshake. "Bobby Singer." He greeted back, looking back to the brothers before back to her. "Sorry for splashin ya. They call me paranoid, but I'm cautious. When you been in this gig as long as I habe, it never hurts to make sure." Bobby told her. "You hungry? I have fixin's for sandwhiches." He offers, not knowing how long it had been since the kiddo had eatin. He looks to the boys then. "If your hungry you can make your own."

Dean nods before going off the kitchen. "You hungry Sam? Want to make some with me Evie?" He asks, figuring she'd like to see Bobby's selection.

"It's understandable." Evie chuckled, smiling at him. While he came off tough and mean, he was actually nice she could sense that in him. Upon hearing about food, she nodded in reply. "Yeah, let's see what we can make!" She exclaimed before heading to the kitchen with Dean.

"You go ahead, I'll make one later." Sam said before looking over at Bobby, knowing he was in for a lecture once he was done talking. "Hey, Bobby? I...uh..." He tried to explain before sighing. He eventually told him everything about his soul still trapped in the cage and the civil war going on in heaven.

Bobby had gone over to his desk as Sam explained his predicament to him. It seemed to make sense of the outbursts, since that was something that Sam didn't do of at all often. "Well damn Sam. Sounds like we got work to do. So how is Evie handling things so far? Quite the trooper from the looks of it."

"Yeah...about that." Sam said before explaining what she told them; loosing her family, the guardianship, and her knowledge of the supernatural world. "She's smart, she just lacks experience. Dean and I agree she shouldn't be in any of this, but her family name makes her a target. We can't leave her alone."

In the kitchen, Evie was laughing as she made sandwiches with Dean. "Okay, okay, Iron Man verses Batman." She said. The two were debating which hero would win in a fight.

"I agree. But I'm proud of you boys for taking her in. She gonna need you guys to help her keep her head on straight and look up to. I know you aren't the best role models but she looks up to you two now." Bobby explained.

Dean scoffed at that match up. "Please, that's easy! Batman! Skill and experience. While Ironman only relies on his suit but doesn't have the experience." Dean explained. "My turn. Captain Marvel vs Shazam."

"Oh, that's reassuring." Sam scoffed but he knew it was true. They were her family now; father and big brother figures to this poor orphan. "As for role models, she seems to get along with Dean. Then again Dean's always been good with kids."

"Shazam. Sure, he's technically a kid, but he's able to share his power with others. Captain Marvel can't do that." Evie replied, finishing the BLT she was making. "Oh! Deadpool and Domino vs Joker and Harley Quinn!" She exclaimed excitedly.

"Figures. I can't complain though. Still got to make sure he doesn't corrupt her too much. I don't think we want a mini Dean. Just imagining it scares me." Bobby says with a slight shiver.

Dean was working on a second sandwich and that being for Bobby. "Deadpool and Domino all the way. Deadpool can never die and the Joker wouldn't be able to find any way too. Domino is nothing but lucky and anything would turn out to be in her favor one way or another." Dean replied. "Hmmm...Ah! Deathstroke versus Taskmaster."

"Me too." Sam said before glancing at the kitchen where he could hear them talking about something. At least that was something normal for her in this messed up life. "Hopefully when my soul is back I can help prevent it."

"Please, Deathstroke. He's an assassin and can kick Taskmaster's butt any day of the week." Evie replied, handing him what he needed for the sandwich. "Hulk vs Bane." She tested

Dean took the offered fixings for the sandwhich when they were needed. "Pffft! Hulk. The more pissed he gets, the stronger he gets. Bane wouldnt be able to hold a candle to the Hulk." He explained as he was soon finished with that sandwich. He picked up the plates and went to the fridge to grab a beer and two sodas, handing one to Evie before going to the table. "Hey Boddy! We made a sandwich so ya!" Dean hollered from the kitchen.

Bobby heard Dean, having to admit he was hungry. He got up and headed to the kitchen. As he passed Sam, the older man clasped his hand on his shoulder, guiding him to the kitchen. "Come on boy. We'll figure out a way. Just be patient with us and don't lose that new temper of yours."
