I haven't picked a last name but otherwise complete. I hope Windel doesn't mind that I stole their formatting. Please take it as flattery, you had the most aesthetic CS and I like matching.

@TreasureSniper As KoL-senpai stated, your images are broken. I use imgr links for mine because they're free and simple and can private them for my links only. If you could fix them, that'd be great. After that, looks fine and you can add you sheet to the tab.

@Archetype Zero Great, would be glad to have you along. Whenever you're ready to join, feel free to put up a sheet. It doesn't look like the spots will be filling up too fast.

@The 42nd Gecko • First Drive [Wandering Warrior]: "Her weapons count as herself [for this ability]."

If this counts with her thrown sword, does it count with her shot arrows too? And if she drops her sword in one area and runs to a new map; is that sword still hers that she can teleport to? What if someone else picks it up?

It would not count an arrow, in part because the arrows burn themselves up.

As for dropping the sword and running to a new map, I didn't know that was a thing, like, I thought if someone challenges you to a fight, you load up a virtual space for that fight and fight. If you leave you're forfeiting and lose, I thought.

As for someone holding the weapon, that would be fine, but to teleport to it, there would have to be space for her to be, so if they stow the weapon in a backpack, Ronin can't teleport to it.

Hmm, isn't it way easier to say that the sword acts has an identification beacon that allows the mecha to teleport back to its vicinity?

That's just an opinion, but this current explanation relies on teleporting tropes that work better for fantasy settings than sci-fi. This would solve the whole ownership problem and even allow the possibility for beacon arrows to be possible teleport anchors down the line.

Plus it would also explain why the mecha can't teleport to the sword if it's into a backpack or other enclosed space since fully (or even partially, in some cases) encased metal spaces block electronic signals.

@KoL I also wouldn't want to teleport to a sword that someone has I dunno, stuck into a tree. I like the simplicity of "there has to be nothing there for you to be allowed to teleport there, no sticking yourself inside another thing". Seeing a Virtual World doesn't need air, we don't even have to worry about displaced air.

That said, I do like the beacon idea, as that is a nice upgrade path idea.

Isn't that what Noctis does all the time.

@The 42nd Gecko The map hopping was really only if you decided that you were going to log in to fool around or do some training. You're right that if you're challanged you spawn in an isolated map to fight in. I myself like the beacon idea better myself, but I'll let you go how you see fit. In either case, you can put her in the tab when you're ready.

That's what the vicinity part of my previous comment is for. Unless you arre teleporting INTO the sword, you'll always be in its vicinity when you arrive. You would just have to define what vicinity means for you as in "adjacent", or "no more than X distance away".

For example, if vicinity is the former, it would mean you can't teleport to the sword stuck in a three, or inside a box. If it's the later, there would be room for doing so, depending on the distance.

@TreasureSniper

Just a heads up. None of the images in your CS work here because of the DDoS protection of the site they are hosted. You probably should change the link to some other host like imgur or even the guild itself.

Thanks for the headsup

Poor Spiders with no players yet. Maybe shouldn't have picked spiders as their mascot.

Actually, I do have a question @Quasi. Why exactly does the Gearframe School exist, and why are Gearframes so important? Are they military units in the real world? Is this some kind of military school for elite pilots? Or is it something closer to a sports school like Duel Academy from Yu-Gi-Oh GX?

Further, if there's a hierarchy that took over the school to the point of causing eternal stagnation in the scoreboard, why haven't the teachers done anything to shake this up or make the results halfway interesting? If the same factions come in first, second, and third each year without even so much as shifting positions on the scoreboard, doesn't it eliminate the point of the competition when it becomes incredibly predictable? Furthermore, why do they allow certain factions to have enormous population advantages over one another, throwing any idea of fair play into question immediately?

On top of that, why was this MMO-style VR battleground set up in the first place? I'd understand if it was to teach students about battle tactics in the field, but it seems like it's some kind of completely hands-off VRMMO kind of deal without any teacher intervention at all. Isn't this a school of some kind? Shouldn't the holodeck-style entertainment come second to actual classes?

I'm not trying to poke holes in this. I'm sure you have answers to all of these, but I would like to know them before I make my character.

The only true reason for Gearframes to exist is passion.

It is definitely interesting that all the faction leaders appear to have become faction leaders during their freshman years, they must be a lot better than everyone else.

Hey all, Formal apology;

I'm sorry I havn't been online in the last 2 weeks. I got stuck in quarantine and my everything had to shift about without much internet availability. If everyone is still interested and available, we can all pick this up. Though I understand if you all had to bounce. In either case, thanks for your interest.

As with everything; school is just business. And it can be profitable- especially when Gwenton (the leading military tech company that backs the school) can use funds to simultaneously help improve the field to their specifications as well as continue to be on the forefront of their craft. Gearframes are more or less in the early stages in military inclusion; though the point of VR is to do battle. Which would make for handy data points for their advancements in the field. Publicly, no; Gearframes don't exist, but the idea isn't that much of a stretch in the world to dream it would come about as man once drempt to fly or travel the stars.

As for the faculty's has off approach; perhaps there's more at play within those walls. However, all students are free to choose their faction. Some even change mid-year. Though you're right that its odd that things are the way they are. I wonder why that could be.

@The 42nd Gecko

There's probably definitely some foul play somewhere for everything to align as they have. Perhaps you'd learn of the truths yourself.
