Sorry for the double-post. @BenG85, any thought of hosting a Discord server?

no worries, and, no need to apologize. that was a courtesy heads up, itse generally considered bad form for some characters to get less of a chance to participate than others, so just putting that out there. Nobody has actually done anything wrong, yet.

As for the discord... Considering some of what I'm seeing in the status bar with no explanation as to why, I'm just going to say a chat setting would be better suited for 1X1, otherwise for a group Roll20 is already a thing.
I've attempted rp dedicated servers in the past, with zero success for it. Probably because I had clear rules.

a lot more work would go into managing an rp via a discord server for rp purposes, and coordination, and it would be harder for me to enforce certain rules and expectations, as I can't be present at all hours, nor is there any effective means for me to manage an rp like I can, here. I'm just not going to give myself a lot more work that comes with vetting and moderating a discord channel when a forum works much better for my purposes, anyway.

TL;DR- if I was able to put together and coordinate a game where people meet up at an agreed upon time and such, I'd be doing that out here in meat-space. Online? PBP is still the best format for players/player groups that have busy lives and stuff.

Why do you ask? What is the actual deal with this "discord rp" business everyone is throwing around?

I think the Discord RP thing is just people being corny, in terms of the status bar protests. A lot of the time a discord is just used as a dedicated chat room to socialize with fellow players. It would be cool to hang with you all out-of-character.

Shit, what do the rest of you think of that? I'd be ok with it, I mean, it's not often people express an interest in socializing with me that much. I'm sure some conversation with me and seeing my face will help explain why, but if you all are interested in a space to hang out, I'd consider setting up a sort of "Players' Lounge" :P

@BenG85 No idea. I think it's just a 'Thats what she said' mentality where it feels like the more you say it, the funnier it gets but really it's mostly an overly beaten dead horse.

In terms of getting a Discord server, If people are up for it and you'd like some help, I'm happy to help set that up and then hand over the car keys to you. I think we have a cool group of people.

Alright, get ready for a radical jump.

You should all speak to myself, or one of the co-gm's, to discuss how some of the current interactions resolved, but, seeing them through to the end I think will drag on for a bit, it can be summarized in upcoming posts, but, I want to get this thing rolling.

I'm also open to opinions and feedback on this; if you want to finish out the current interactions, that's cool, we'll work something out.

I want to move things along, "jump to the next scene", but, I'd rather not be a tyrant about it.

So, yeah, there's the update- I'm working on a post, hoping to push this along, but, I think I need player input.

I'm fine with a jump. I think the main purpose was to introduce everyone to the others and I think that's been accomplished.

Posted, and kept it brief without rushing it. Players should know, there is only the one hotel in Nowhere, so non-locals who aren't visiting relatives are free to collaborate on one more post before I move to the next scene.
