Voila, balance. It’s the greatest trick man could ever dare attempt. Life & Death. The dual sided coin dancing on the tips of equilibrium. To live among the perished. When I took upon that Hipocratic oath I became obligated to partake in the balancing of scales. The bridge between two worlds.
Tormented. Unable to connect with the outside world. Yasuke suffers from social anxiety disorder, delusions and paranoia. He struggles opening up to other people. Withdrawn, Yasuke often withholds his true opinions of the world, in fear of rejection. He’s lived life holding in suppressed anger, mainly towards the society he’s unable to participate in. Though intelligent and renowned for his medical expertise, he’s incapable of regulating intense emotions and is susceptible to explosive outbursts of rage. He self medicates with morphine, using his prowess in medical ninjutsu to derive suboxone-like drugs to help with withdrawals.
Yasuke suffers from dissociative identity disorder. His first personality, Butcher Brown, exists to play the role of a protetor. In actuality, Grendel, the mysterious figure he believes slaughtered his family, is a delusion fabricated by his subconscious mind.. The Grendel construct is a monstrous manifestation of Yasuke’s suppressed rage, but itself is only a veil shielding him from hidden psychological trauma.
Healing others has always been an effective outlet for him; and the only thing aside from his drug use that has brought him any joy.
Brief History:
“The truth, in it’s unabrigged naked glory. Here, lies the truth, and what will appear when the foggy mist clears way.
The demilitarization of shinobi ended centuries of warring, but did not change a thing for the followers of bushido. Instead, the samurai of the Land of Iron evolved. Through the generations leading up to the decline of the shinobi, certain noble samurai families rose to power in the Land of Iron. They cultivated outside resources, deriving principles from the ninjutsu of the shinobi to rapidly develop centuries of kenjutsu that had decayed and become obsolete. The kenjutsu of the samurai had failed to challenge the might of the five shinobi countries. However, even with the rapid rise of the samurai clans like the noble Kure drunk on ambition, began to experiment with forbidden practices rivaling the kinjutsu of shinobi in infamy. Generations of Kure began to flirt with the unspeakable Gu ritual, forcing blood siblings in the main branch to commit awful tragedies.
Yasuke belonged to the 5th generation of Kure living under a new regime of brutality. The middle child among 5 other pure blood Kure, Yasuke was the black sheep. Though clearly talented in the Kure family’s fearsome kenjutsu, Jaiantopansā-ryu, his heart was committed to medicine. He sought to forsake his claim to the Kure main house and become a physician. Even as he blitzed through his medical training at the young age of 18 and obtained his medical license he was convinced his efforts could overcome generations of bloody tradition.
They took him on the night of his graduation. Kidnapped, Yasuke was thrust into a crypt underneath the Kure mansion. He awoke to find his siblings with him. Threatened with horrid atrocities rivaling death, they were ordered to fight to the death, Only one would make it to see the morning sun. Burying their tears the sons and daughters of the Kure tightly grasped the hilt of their blades. Something in Yasuke snapped that night. A monstrosity unlike any the Kure had seen in previous blood emerged from the gentle Yasuke.
Nonetheless, the Kure had obtained their Grendel. Yasuke was perhaps the greatest product to be made from the sacred Gu ritual. The Land of Iron’s daimyo was elated. For, the Kure clan held a special bond with the daimyo of the land, one that spanned centuries. It was the Kure main house’s duty to provide the daimyo with a new blade every generation. One created through the corrosive act of Gu. Utilizing forbidden genjutsu, the Kure brainwash the winner of the Gu rituals into becoming human weapons for the daimyo.
As the daimyo’s blade Kure spent four years carrying out assassinations, and protecting the daimyo’s family. His mind was frequently wiped to prevent him from resisting control. However,one day everything changed. The Kure main house’s weapon program went to a halt, and it’s greatest monstrosity was nowhere to be found.
Freed from the Kure’s hold, a confused and fragmented Yasuke roams the land. He is guided by a Butcher Brown “B.B.” , a construct created in his mind from the memory of his sister. With fake memories and B.B by his side he roams the countryside on a fantastical quest to slay the beast, Grendel.

The user falls down, generating a sprint with his feet in order to dash forward, then combining the force of gravity from the fall with his own physical strength, creating an incredibly fast acceleration. Kure Clan Esoteric Art:Itami ghetto no tojikome “Pain Gate Entrapment”
The culmination of nearly a century of research, Pain Gate Entrapment uses principles similar to the Eight Gates. With the Pain Gate positioned in the spinal cord, manipulation of the neural connections in this point enables the user to temporarily halt pain responses. Ikazuchi Kata: First Mode Shomei-shin no katachi “ True Lightning God Form
Yasuke’s variant of the Ikazuchi Kata’s first mode. The user wraps their body in a layer of lightning chakra to increase their physical capabilities, more lightning resulting in added increases. Additionally, the lightning chakra stimulates the user’s nervous system, heightening their speed and reaction time. For 5 posts, all of Yasuke’s general kenjutsu and physical techniques increase.

Feedback Notes and Acceptance
I really dig this backstory, the characterization you're aiming for, and the type of moveset you're creating. I was looking at some of the other threads on here and some GM-applicant exchanges just out of curiosity and it struck me how important it was to have interesting and diverse characters to create a real anime-type cast. I think you definitely managed to make something unique while using some oft seen tropes.
One thing I would say is that there are a few spelling mistakes in there and the formatting of centering everything makes it an abrasive read. I went through the same thing when formatting the OP and found that not centering made things look better. Either way feel free to add Yasuke to the character section.

When he saw that his infamy had risen to such a point that he was given the moniker, Squalo, Iori was amused. At least his enemies were literate. Among the Kure clan, not a single soul understood how the young Iori obtained his position. It was not that there was doubt in his competency as Rear Admiral of the Land of Iron. Subordinates praised him for his intelligence, commended his grace and charm. Yet, when questioned further, no one could account for his true origins.
Iori, a member of the Kure branch house, lacked the monstrous strength common among members of the main house. That is not to say that he was ever considered weak. No one has been able to accurately gauge his strength, nor describe his technique. His entire life, a majority of fights concluded in his opponents forfeit or withdrawal, overwhelmed by his massive battle aura. Whispers in the hall of the Kure palace illustrate the man as a bloodthirsty shark, free from the fear of predation.. And, that is such tales of his infamy have remained as nothing more than whispers.
When the Kure family head, Demali, adopted an outsider into the family, Yasuke found a saving grace from the new prospect. The two became fast friends as Iori assimilated into one of the branch family houses. Yasuke, as the middle child, struggled to find his footing in society. Iori, with effortless grace, commanded attention and respect unlike the clumsy Yasuke, too socially awkward to partake in the clan’s official affairs.
Demali took special interest in Iori and would eventually mold him into becoming a respected right hand. Notably, when he waived Iori’s branding ceremony, powerful fuinjutsu that removed a person’s ability to speak and disclose pertinent information. This was the Kure’s way of preserving the secrecy behind the Gu ritual, keeping generations of human weapon programming in the shadows. Few in the clan were afforded such privileges, and never without a price. Iori paid that price and many more with an indulgent smile, he had no qualms about dancing with the devil so long that it benefited him.
Worming his way into the daimyo’s cabinet, securing Rear Admiral at the age of 18, Iori’s rise in the bureaucracy in the Land of Iron mirrored the tenancy of child soldiers from the Warring Age. He had it all, set for life, and yet dreadfully bored. Before, he satisfied his needs with games. Convincing Yasuke that he could gain independence from the main house with his honest efforts, and then accompanying him in his training in medical ninjutsu. The pleasure of Yasuke’s impending torment satiated his thirst for a while but it wasn’t enough. None of it would be enough.
And so, he would create his own monster. Freeing Yasuke from the clan’s hold on his psyche was like the feeling one gets as a child, setting up fireworks for the first time. The rush of death swarms your chest as you wait for that inevitable explosion. When he realized that his monster had suffered from warped, distorted memories and delusions he crept with joy. Tragedy. Tragedy. Tragedy. Iori believed himself to be a poet. And, a poet pays his toll in suffering. His whole life he felt robbed, stolen from a time long ago. He wished to have been born in that ancient era of heroes and villains, of war and death. Iori would author his own tragedy,

Yeah there's definitely some very interesting things I've been seeing in other threads I've perused through. There's a certain creative energy this forum has that I find exciting. A lot of the posts I've read in other threads are really streamlined despite there being such a high character count to post with.
I think I would like the get the IC up sometime tomorrow night. I think of the known applicants we're just waiting on myself and Kaze no Kizu to finish our character sheets.
I've started making the first mission event and I'm pretty excited to kick off with it. I really think the goal setting system will create a unique experience for everyone.

My shifts are early this weekend so I might be able to start rolling as soon as it starts. This heat kills all my productivity though.

What do you think? Does that make it easier to read information? Not sure what's up with the ugly ass space between the table and the upper normal text, I swear I have all the code already glued to it.
This is such a goddamn pain though...I'll leave it be if anyone wants to copy and paste the code to use it, but I'm not gonna change my own template. I like it enough as is. I'm probably going to end up changing everything halfway into the rp anyway.

I think my template turned out pretty slick, but all I did was essentially make two rows, I guess.

My shifts are early this weekend so I might be able to start rolling as soon as it starts. This heat kills all my productivity though.
Edit: let's test it out.What do you think? Does that make it easier to read information? Not sure what's up with the ugly ass space between the table and the upper normal text, I swear I have all the code already glued to it.

This is such a goddamn pain though...I'll leave it be if anyone wants to copy and paste the code to use it, but I'm not gonna change my own template. I like it enough as is. I'm probably going to end up changing everything halfway into the rp anyway.
This is pretty cool and I think that the fact it's different from Sync's makes it even better. Uniformity is cool but I think being able to have different types of templates gives them more character.

When he saw that his infamy had risen to such a point that he was given the moniker, Squalo, Iori was amused. At least his enemies were literate. Among the Kure clan, not a single soul understood how the young Iori obtained his position. It was not that there was doubt in his competency as Rear Admiral of the Land of Iron. Subordinates praised him for his intelligence, commended his grace and charm. Yet, when questioned further, no one could account for his true origins.
Iori, a member of the Kure branch house, lacked the monstrous strength common among members of the main house. That is not to say that he was ever considered weak. No one has been able to accurately gauge his strength, nor describe his technique. His entire life, a majority of fights concluded in his opponents forfeit or withdrawal, overwhelmed by his massive battle aura. Whispers in the hall of the Kure palace illustrate the man as a bloodthirsty shark, free from the fear of predation.. And, that is such tales of his infamy have remained as nothing more than whispers.
When the Kure family head, Demali, adopted an outsider into the family, Yasuke found a saving grace from the new prospect. The two became fast friends as Iori assimilated into one of the branch family houses. Yasuke, as the middle child, struggled to find his footing in society. Iori, with effortless grace, commanded attention and respect unlike the clumsy Yasuke, too socially awkward to partake in the clan’s official affairs.
Demali took special interest in Iori and would eventually mold him into becoming a respected right hand. Notably, when he waived Iori’s branding ceremony, powerful fuinjutsu that removed a person’s ability to speak and disclose pertinent information. This was the Kure’s way of preserving the secrecy behind the Gu ritual, keeping generations of human weapon programing in the shadows. Few in the clan were afforded such privileges, and never without a price. Iori paid that price and many more with an indulgent smile, he had no qualms about dancing with the devil so long that it benefited him.
Worming his way into the daimyo’s cabinet, securing Rear Admiral at the age of 18, Iori’s rise in the bureaucracy in the Land of Iron mirrored the tenancy of child soldiers from the Warring Age. He had it all, set for life, and yet dreadfully bored. Before, he satisfied his needs with games. Convincing Yasuke that he could gain independence from the main house with his honest efforts, and then accompanying him in his training in medical ninjutsu. The pleasure of Yasuke’s impending torment satiated his thirst for a while but it wasn’t enough. None of it would be enough.
And so, he would create his own monster. Freeing Yasuke from the clan’s hold on his psyche was like the feeling one gets as a child, setting up fireworks for the first time. The rush of death swarms your chest as you wait for that inevitable explosion. When he realized that his monster had suffered from warped, distorted memories and delusions he crept with joy. Tragedy. The C-rank is too close to Kamui. I personally think the conversation for intangibility starts at A-rank even if it's just through surroundings. The second Tsuchikage's ability to blend into his surroundings and avoid detection was a B-rank.
In terms of his rank I think it may be too high considering everyone is an adult aged Genin due to the ACNL and a rear admiral even if nominal is the equivalent of a 2 star general in most military settings.
Lastly I'd also say the B-Rank being a 2 step move in essence makes it 2 moves. Maybe replace the phasing with the first form then keep the second form as a B-rank.
The fighting style and jutsu are very impressive though. I don't think I've ever seen anyone create a viable genjutsu build in an RP where PvP is expected. I don't want to get too far out in front of my skis but I think once the above changes are made the character will be good to go.

I was expecting a Village Hidden in Wakanda with all the black characters initially presented lol. Excited to see this take off. I barely have a story idea prepared but it'll be fun working on the fly with ya'll.

It roughly translates to No Limits Generation. We have a pretty quirky cast and I just love the creativity everyone is bringing to this RP, so I wanted something that fit us better. I normally wouldn't have changed the title but it would have irked me something fierce using a title that didn't have as much meaning.

KO grew up with very little so he tries to enjoy life to the fullest. Oftentimes this makes him a spectacle but knowing how precious life is he refuses to lessen his zest for life. KO tends to call people he dislikes “joyless fucks” seeing as how he considers himself to be a fun person. There is a streak of silliness and immaturity in everything he does which can be grating for some people and entertaining for others. His sense of humor and overall demeanor is crass. KO has a way of ineloquently speaking his mind not having time to put on airs for people which is again a point of consternation for those around him as there doesn’t appear to be a lot of thinking before he speaks. Despite being so crude KO has a varied sense of honor being the type of guy who will kick you below the belt, but won’t attack you from behind. This plays up in battle where his moves are “smash mouth”, intended for a street fight rather than stealthy shinobi combat. This has earned him a reputation as a blunt instrument which he takes pride in to the point of vainglory.
This is not to say that KO can’t be serious when the time calls for it because as hot-headed as he is; the young man is a natural combatant meant for adversarial work.

They say it is impossible for anything to grow on concrete, the tiny plants we see are just tiny sprouts, floral debris that have found cracks within the concrete. These floral debris live an insignificant existence in which their ultimate destiny is to be walked upon by the uninterested and nonchalant passerbys. The young man who would come to be called KO Kazama was nothing more than debris, insignificant in the vast tapestry that was this world and all he has ever known is the concrete of the streets.
The young boy had no name at first, the memories of his early childhood are not something he can even faintly recall. He does not suffer from amnesia in the traditional sense, but like most children he just simply had no conscious memories until reaching a certain age even if this was a little later for this particular boy than most. His past however was of no importance to him, he had no yearning for a family he never knew, no yearning to be called a name he had never heard, the only precious memory of his early life is the first day he can really remember, the day he was truly born.
On that fateful day the universe had marked the nameless boy for death. Starvation kept him hungry, fear kept him tired, and the cold streets of Fuzen that provided no place for shelter kept him desperate. As people in desperate positions are prone to do, the starved child broke the law for the first time and tried to steal from a street merchant. His crime was pitiable but it would receive no leniency in the Land Hidden by Sin, the man he robbed cornered the child in an alleyway and was ready to seek retribution. On this pivotal day the child learned how cruel the world could be, the unforgettable rancorous fury of this man and the seeming necessity of the man to assert his fury with his own brand of violence. This was the first day the lilac haired child would remember feeling a person’s fist smash his face inward, this was the first day he heard the uncontrollable ringing in his ears overloading his auditory perception , this was the first day he remembered feeling his body stiffen as he was knocked to the ground, his brain rattled and shook within his skull. He felt darkness begin to overcome him as his body lay heavy and immobile with a sandalled bulbous foot ready to make the first day he can remember the last day he would remember by crushing his skull underfoot.
The first day this nascent life could recall death sent salutations to him and naively he closed his eyes thinking that if he ignored the greeting he might live through this, but when that end unexpectedly did not come he opened his eyes his assailant face down with a jagged point with a bandaged handle protruding from the man’s head.
This was the day someone decided to give the boy with no name a life. This savior would become the boy’s blood brother, his name was August Rekkusu Kazama. August was a gaunt, macerated boy who could have only been slightly older than no name, and yet somehow his presence was so much more than that of another street urchin. August was made of something different, his spirit had been tempered on and by the harsh streets of Fuzenkagure. Even though he was a mere child he was dangerous enough to murder a grown man with ease and even though this boy had the malice of the devil there was no fear infecting nameless boy. Maybe it was because there was nothing in the world for him to miss if he had died in this dirty alleyway or maybe it was because he too was a devil, either way this fateful meeting was the first core memory the innominate youth formed and more importantly this memory would be the impetus for how he lived his life.
August stretched his hand to him and issued his first of many orders, “you need to trust me, get up Ko, we have to get as far away from this place as possible and go to where we truly belong”.
The boy who had been born with no name, no memories, no purpose was given all these things by August Rekkusu Kazama when he took that outstretched hand. Living on the streets makes for an upbringing typified by need. August taught the boy he named Ko that he needed to be resourceful, he needed to be able defend himself, he needed to be able to move forward to find the place they truly belonged. The two boys grew to be quite opposite for the most part, a penchant for rudeness being one of the only things they had in common. That was of little consequence to either as the experience in the alley made them blood brothers, even if they never spoke such words to one another. For years Ko. would depend on August to tell him what to do and how to do it, taking his orders in stride. August was a rather direct person always cutting to the fact of the matter and oftentimes doing so inappropriately yet the trust they shared was unbreakable.
August was a quiet person in contrast to how boisterous Ko was. Being someone who spoke such few words there were questions that Ko never got full answers from August on. He trusted August with his life but there were still curiosities that Ko held, such as why August gave him the name Ko and why he chose to bring Ko with him on his journey to get to the elusive “place they belonged”.
They would journey mostly between Fuzen, Iwa, and Suna in search of the place August was looking for. Ko was absolutely resolute in his belief of August even as they wandered the hidden villages and countries, never seeming to find what August had been looking for. The pair were essentially living as vagabond nomads with a penchant for petty theft and an even bigger penchant for danger. This way of life made them physically and mentally strong, the two of them even taught themselves how to wield chakra which in turn allowed them to go from low level thieves to small time mercenaries. Ko is not really sure how many years had passed from that day in the alley but he and August gained their own accoutrements most notably the August’s Fangs of Barbatos, becoming the type of men who could be confident in their powers. In the Fuzen slums they had gained quite the reputation and perhaps that’s why everything fell apart…

Despite his misgivings Ko did what he had always done when August asked him to do something, he simply did it. No one came in or out of the dwelling but hours had to have passed by. When Ko finally decided enough was enough and went back all he found were the Fangs of Barbatos and blood on the ground with no sign of the stranger or August. Just as he had been on that first day of his “life” Ko was alone in the world again. With no other path before him he followed the last order August had given him, to become a shinobi for Fuzenkagure.

Shortly after gaining identification the brothers enlisted to become shinobi of Fuzen. It was soon after this that the brothers were approached by a woman in a dark cloak that had a certain iconography that Ko had never seen before but it was one he would never forget. August asked Ko to leave so he could speak to their “guest” in private. August gave no implication anything was amiss and as always Ko did what August asked of him. Despite his misgivings Ko did what he had always done when August asked him to do something, he simply did it. No one came in or out of the dwelling but hours had to have passed by. When Ko finally decided enough was enough and went back all he found were the Fangs of Barbatos and blood on the ground with no sign of the stranger or August. Just as he had been on that first day of his “life” Ko was alone in the world again. With no other path before him he followed the last order August had given him, to become a shinobi for Fuzenkagure.
As a shinobi of Fuzen Ko is sent around the world to fight in service of the streets he grew up on. Perhaps foolishly he has not given up hope that he will eventually find that woman and his blood brother.

D- Rank: Konagona ni natta yume- KO approaches his foes with his hands in his pockets before winding up and unfurling a devastating strike will immediately leave his opponent in pain.
D- Rank: Body Flicker Technique(Shunshin no jutsu)- By using the Body Flicker Technique, a ninja can move short to long distances at an almost untraceable speed. To an observer, it appears as if the user has teleported. It is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds. The amount of chakra required depends on the overall distance and elevation between the user and the intended destination.
D- Rank: Quadruple Somersault(Shijū chūgaeri)- The user is able to complete a multi rotational backward somersault with 4 twists allowing them exceptional mobility in the air as a defense. This technique can be paired with a weapon to block incoming projectiles.
D- Rank: Bass Kick Swing (Basukikkusuingu)- This technique is a very sudden move that has the user somersault forward and nail their opponent with the sole of their foot.
C-Rank: Baby Comeback (Beibī modotte kite): If Barbatos’ fangs are separated as long as KO holds one blade in his hand he can call the other one back to him akin to a boomerang.
C-Rank: Orbital Air Sphere(Seikuken): A combat method that involves controlling the entire radius within one's arm length, creating the mental image of spherical shield around oneself. It can be used for offense and defense in a stand up situation.
B-Rank: Cherry Bomb(Cherībomu): KO gathers a dense concentration of chakra in his fist and instead of creating a controlled concentrated impact it is simply an explosion of most of KO chakra. The destructive power of this jutsu is enough to upend large chunks of the earth, create massive cratering in the ground, and is accompanied by a bright red maelstrom of chakra akin to a small bomb. KO’s lack of chakra control makes this a more destructive but unrefined version of Sakura Haruno’s Cherry Blossom Impact.

Master of Barbatos: August has power over a twin set of Kodachi that he calls the “Fangs of Barbatos”. The blades' craftsmanship is pristine with a perfect blade geometry, razor sharp edges to flay skin from bone. The hidden power of these swords is their unbreakable connection to each other. They are two sides of a half, yearning to be with one another so they may be whole. This is not simply metaphorical as this bond creates a magnetic attraction between one another. A common tactic for August is to throw one fang while the other is held, the projectile sword will return to the wielder much like a boomerang.
When the swords combine to become whole they take on the form of an imposing sword mace. The handle alone is about .5 a meter long with the weapon’s edge being just under 1.5 meters. In this form Barbatos sacrifices cutting power for chopping power and unbridled physicality that can crater the ground in a single strike. In spite of its size because August is it’s master the blade “allows” him to wield it with a blinding swiftness that belies its massive frame.
Hard Body Karate aka Street Fighter: KO didn’t get any formal training in taijutsu but he has developed his own fighting style based from his time on the streets and as a mercenary. This crude and rudimentary style doesn’t have any defined stances; it's merely predicated on brawling and doing whatever it takes to down the enemy figuratively and literally. Having been in real fights to the death KO doesn’t know how to fight as if his life didn’t depend on it. He utilizes sharp elbow strikes more than he does straights and jabs, he will shoot in and take an opponent down instead of standing up and trading blows. KO would rather employ heavy use of ground and pound tactics where the opponent has to punch from underneath and he can strike downward with more force. There is not a level KO would not stoop to if it means winning the fight, being willing to bite his opponent, rake their eyes, or even stomp on their head if the opportunity presents itself. Furthering this theme of barbarism if you show your back to KO he has no scruples of taking your back and choking you out, nothing is out of bounds because everyone has a plan until they get hit and there are no rules when it’s a fight to the death. This mindset and his natural athleticism has given birth to an erratic attack pattern that could be called downright manic as K.O. employs the use of parkour to flip, vault, jump, roll, and even run, anything he deems suitable for the situation. This also means that the terrain is a weapon for him as well as he will take whatever is on hand and turn it into an armament.

This style is not especially effective against fighters who utilize a ground based attack as there is very little defense in the Street Fighter style so people who use submission based attacks or jiu jitsu styled taijutsu have the advantage if they can get K.O. down and on his back.
