The fact that he wasn't expecting her to do such thing helped her a great deal as their size difference made it quite hard for her to overpower him, at least in their human form.
She didn't necessarily wait for Thane to resurface. Olivia put a bit of space between the both of them and couldn't help but laugh. She knew that out of everyone in the pack, Thane would be more than okay having a harmless prank pulled on him.
