One of the things first noticed about Rori is their short height, below average in a way that means they often have to stand on their tiptoes to see over crowds. Along with this comes a very slight, almost underweight looking, frame. They have a naturally very high metabolism and lighter bones than the average human, as if their body was built in preparation for flight without them actually having wings. Rori is far from athletic but due to their metabolism, and general lack of eating, they don’t have to make much of an effort to stay as skinny as they are. However this means they come off as rather scrawny and often could be mistaken for as someone much younger. This isn’t helped by how flat their body is, with a general lack of curves and hips. They have a sizable chest but this is rarely noticeable due to the fact they almost always wear a binder. This gives them a very androgynous, if boyish, look. Rori has a fair few scars dotted about her body, especially along her arms. However these are barely noticeable on her already pale skin and are often covered by clothing or feathers.

Rori’s hair is short and incredibly scruffy, often just given one brush and then left to do whatever it wants to. It’s naturally an auburn red which they hate, but they’ve been unable to get their hands on any dye while at the academy. Rori is very pale, paler than the typical Caucasian due to their Irish blood and ginger hair. They have freckles that cover her face and body that comes with her complexion. Along with this is the inability to every tan in the sun, instead Rori will burn after a short time in it. They have large yellow-brown eyes, larger than normal and not quite human, set in her round face. Their face is soft and somewhat childish only further adding to the appearance that they’re younger than they are.

Due to their powers, Rori also has various non-human features. The first, and most obvious, unnatural thing about them is their eyes. These are a much more yellowish brown than found in humans (in fact neither of her parents have brown eyes) and are much more like that of a bird’s than a human. Due to this they have superior vision to humans, with the ability to see much further, but they also don’t have the same capability to move their eyes in their socket. This means they often have to move their head around to see to the side. Sometimes it is noticeable that they do not blink normally. Instead they have a third hidden eyelid, the nictitating membrane, that does it for them. More hidden are the feathers that cover a lot of their body. They are found on their top half, beginning as soft down feathers around their neck and lower arms. These are spaced out and still quite soft at the front of their body. However they turn into more proper feathers at their back, with full dense feathers that eventually thin out and become softer at their waistline. Their feathers are brown with a slight reddish, auburn hint. The feathers at their chest are more red than the other areas. Due to previous events these feathers have gotten densers and spread down their upper legs.

Rori’s first go to when it comes to clothing is comfort. They tend to lean more towards baggy clothing or something that looks cute, which only adds to them looking younger than they are. Most often they’ll be found in baggy shirts, hoodies and sweaters. They quite like to wear dungarees of varying styles, in blues and greens, or looser fitted jeans. When it’s hot they’ll generally wear dungaree shorts that fall to their knees and never anything shorter, ensuring that their feathers are covered. They’re almost always found with long sleeves to cover these up if they're outside, and a scarf to cover the feathers at their neck. Even in the academy they like to cover them up and will only relax in the presence of close friends or alone. They tend to wear a mix of green, blue and brown but have never been one to be too concerned about what they’re wearing.

Rori is an incredibly bright and cheerful person, more often found with a grin on their lips than not. It’s rare to find them not smiling and they try to keep up even in the harder situations when it’s a facade. They find that smiling helps to cheer other people up and they try their hardest to do just that, along with having an astounding ability to make the best out of even the worst situation. However, their continual optimism and cheerfulness can get a bit annoying at points. This is balanced out by Rori’s natural friendliness and enjoyable company, even if they have a bad habit of never stopping talking when they start. Rori isn’t the most socially aware due to spending a lot of time alone in their youth but they’re slowly improving. They absolutely do not know when to shut up, and will just keep talking until someone tells them to.

A lot of their constant talking and cheer comes from Rori’s high energy. They are fairly hyperactive and have a difficult time concentrating on tasks they don’t enjoy and always seem to be bouncing with energy. It can make them exhausting to be around because they just don’t stop. Even on only a few hours sleep Rori will be bright and raring to go, they never seem to get tired. God forbid they have coffee, in which case they’ll actually be bouncing off the walls. Rori tends to stay away from caffeinated beverages thanks to this.

Contrary to their outwards personality, Rori isn’t always happy. Sure, they’re an optimist, but they’re nowhere near the cheerful persona they make themselves out to be. In many ways they use this and their naturally high energy to hide behind. They went through a lot during their younger years and it’s safe to say they didn’t come out unscarred emotionally. In fact Rori isn’t very emotional at all. They rarely feel strong emotions and are rather apathetic in the end, numb to both true happiness and sadness. They have some trust issues that come from both their parents and lack of stable support up until going into the academy program. Even if they make friends easily they are not quick to entirely trust someone and there are few they would actively turn to. They fear not being accepted by others as well, both due to their gender and power. They’re lack of emotions mean that they can have a hard time empathising with those who are being affected strongly by them, such as in grief. But this is all something they keep to themselves - after all, it’s easier just to pretend to be perfectly happy.

Rori’s main skills lie in their creativity. They’ve always had a love for it, and a large imagination which adds to this. They’re good at art, focusing primarily on watercolour and beginning to delve into digital now that they have the resources. Their art tends to be of a fantasy nature, combining elements of things they’ve seen with whatever they can think of with their imagination. Often it goes hand in hand with their creative writing, something they focus on less but still enjoys and is good at.

Along with this Rori has a natural talent for music. They’ve played the violin since a young age, and even a few years without it they’ve picked it up easily again. Along with this they play the piano and the flute, and pick up new instruments with relative ease. They have a good sense of rhythm and a good musical ear. They also compose music occasionally but it is not something they’ve delved into much.

Aside from their creativity, their main talents lie in friendliness. They’re very cheerful and easy to be around, generally excelling in social situations and making friends with relative ease. They also have some basic survival skills, but most of them are reliant on being in bird form.

Rori was born the fourth child into a relatively large family, with two older sisters, an older brother and younger brother. Their parents were strict parents that brought up their children religiously, with opinions against a lot that they’d view as “strange and unacceptable.” This included being incredibly anti-deltahuman.

Unlike most of their siblings, Rori didn’t really believe what their parents did. They went along with it because they didn’t have much choice. This made them something of the black sheep of the family, with their general disinterest in going down any academic route their parents might want them to. They didn’t have much in common with their siblings, but got on relatively alright with them thanks to their friendly personality.

The person they were closest to was their older cousin Max, who was five years older than them. Even with the gap they were good friends and Max was someone that Rori looked up to. However their parent’s didn’t particularly approve of that part of the family for all that they grew up in the same area. As a result, there was a large fallout that resulted in Rori being cut off from seeing Max. Soon, their older cousin moved to a different city anyway.

Their life was relatively normal up until age eleven. It was at this point they became aware of their discomfort with their gender, and the body that came with it. They didn’t feel like a girl, or a boy, and through internet research discovered the existence of nonbinary genders. They settled on this and that they didn’t feel like either and was left with the decision on whether to tell their parents.

They decided they would, which backfired when their parents' reaction was negative and they were told to never speak of it again. This led to an incredibly unhappy period of their life when they were forced to go under their deadname and their parents tried to push them into things they deemed “girly” more than ever. They began to withdraw from the friends they had in school and instead moved online, where they could be themself, and found solace in music and the instruments they played.

A few years later they were exposed to Delta-Point Energy, likely due to contact with other Deltahumans (they can’t pinpoint the exact point this happened). Their ability developed slowly and naturally. It started with their eyesight improving, suddenly they could see much further than before. Then they couldn’t blink properly, couldn’t move their eyes. Then feathers began to form all across their body. These changes terrified Rori, who was only thirteen and had little idea of what was going on. They’d heard about Deltahumans, and had a pretty good idea that was what was happening, but didn’t know much beyond that. The panic over what was happening caused them to change entirely into a bird for the first time, resulting in an excruciating pain back.

They hid these changes as best they could, wearing scarves and long sleeves at all times. They knew their parents’ opinions and didn’t want to find out what would happen if they were discovered. They managed this for almost a year, practicing and using their bird form to get some kind of freedom. It was all going well until their parents walked in on them mid-change. The fear and disgust on their parents’ faces was enough to show their opinions, only added on by overheard private phone calls. The things they suggested be done were… difficult for a fourteen year old to deal with.

So they did some research, finding out where their cousin lived before packing a bag and running away. They only managed to grab a small amount of money, enough to get them to the next town over. From here they lived on the streets and in forests, travelling primarily in their bird form. Often they would spend days at a time as a bird, getting caught up in flocks of the same species as it was the closest to proper contact they could have. Eventually, after a couple of years, they made their way to Max by nothing short of a miracle (being a bird doesn’t come with inbuilt GPS).

First Max was shocked to have her younger cousin turn up out of the blue, literally changing from a bird in front of her. At this point Rori had spent so much time as a bird it was difficult to function as a human, but with the help of their cousin they got back on their feet (literally). But, unfortunately Max was a young adult working for FAMA… who really didn’t have the time to take in her teenage cousin. So she pulled a few strings and got Rori enrolled in Academy 003.

That’s how they ended up here, ready to start a hopefully fun new life.

Difficulty rolling their eyes due to them being like a bird’s and as a result has to move their head more. Their eyesight is better than normal humans but not quite as good as the best birds eyesight.

Rori is limited in the types of birds they can turn into. They can turn into any birds in the following categories:

They can only do this comfortably four times per day, and more if they push themselves. They can’t talk as a bird even as they keep their intelligence, and are limited by… well, what a bird can do.

If Rori looks into the far distance for too long they can strain their eyes, causing their vision to blur and giving them headaches or migraines if they do it too much. Their feathers cause them to overheat easily due to being an extra layer. They get incredibly exhausted and ravenous after changing from their bird form back to their human form. This can easily be solved by eating a lot of food and a long nap. However if they don't get this they are prone to collapse without warning or faint from the fatigue. Along with this they need to eat more than normal anyway.

The longer they stay in their bird form the more they take on the characteristics of the bird. It is likely that if they remained as a bird for a prolonged period of time they will forget who they are and how to turn back into a human. Then Rori would be permanently stuck in bird form. Rori also sometimes gets stuck mid-change which is incredibly painful and traumatic. It can take them hours to get out of this state. Along with this they are often left in pain after the change and feel like they have limbs that they no longer have (such as wings).

Born Roisin Aherne, but they hate that name.

Andrew has a lean, average build with slightly pale skin. While not immediately obvious, he has a just-barely emerging musculature, developed almost immediately after knowledge of him being sent to Academy 003. He has a rounded chin and flat cheeks, and a thin nose as well as round ears. He has thin black eyes and wavy black hair, with eyebrows just on the verge of fusing into a monobrow. He takes careful care of his hair, making sure it's well combed and neat.

Andrew usually doesn't care how well he looks, usually just wearing a pair of jeans and plain shirt, adjusting for whatever weather he needs to expect. He almost never wears anything with a logo or words written on it, instead preferring just a simple and plain shirt. He also wears dark gray tennis shoes with orange accents.

Andrew has a difficult self-image, simultaneously viewing himself as a good person but also believing that he needs to prove himself, and that 'good' is an active state that needs to be earned, rather than just not being a dick. He makes a key note to be respectful to others, offer help if needed, and always try to set an example. However, on the flipside he can't help but feel that his morality is defined by his actions alone, rather than intent. It's also arguable that even if he tries to be a good person, he largely does it out of self-need. He tends to be optimistic, even overly so, believing that will to act and resilience can ultimately win the day. He's also unwilling for compromise, leading to how he got sent to Academy 003 in the process, believing that morality ultimately outweighs the rules in some cases.

Though it's definitely a newly acquired trait, Andrew earned himself decent athleticism. While he was always active in PE, upon learning that he was going to be sent to Academy 003, he took up a training schedule, greatly improving his own physical capability and athletic potential.

Andrew grew up the eldest child of three brothers, making for a struggling working class family. Life was hard growing up and his parents were always busy, so he took it upon himself to do everything he could to make life easier for them and look after his younger brothers when they weren't around. He always tried to stay out of trouble, did chores before they were asked of him, and made sure to do well in school. He was often picked on and made the butt of jokes by his friend, classmates, and even his own young siblings due to his strange and reserved attitude. However, at the end of the day it can't be argued that he never didn't do well in school, even if socially he was a bit behind compared to his peers.

For most of his life, Andrew was just willing to do good and let good be done. While he knew the world could be a dark and hostile place, especially in the wake of the Verthaven Disaster, he ultimately thought that if everyone did a little good, the world would've been a much better place, and the best he could've done was to act by example. That all changed, however, when at an undisclosed point in his past he had come into contact with Delta-Point Energy, which eventually led to a Natural Manifestation, allowing him to emit sunlight from his body. Thankfully, Andrew had managed to discover this ability in secret and keep it as such; He was well aware of the powerful anti-Deltahuman sentiments that people right in his own community had harbored; He himself hadn't the best opinion towards them after watching the news all the time. For the time, he wanted to keep his ability a secret, yet explore it's capabilities.

One night though, Andrew threw away his secrecy when he encountered a mugging in progress while walking through the streets one night. He tried to just keep walking and mind his own business, but found himself pulled to a halt, burgeoning with the desire to put his newfound gift to good use. Andrew had activated his ability to full strength, still being highly inexperienced with it. While he had managed to stop both the muggers, he did complete overkill. The mugger themself was disoriented and stumbled, cracking his skull as he slipped and fell against a metal dumpster. The person he was robbing suffered third-degree burns as his jacket caught aflame, as well as the trash and paper on the streets around them.

Without doubt, Andrew had accidentally made himself a far worse offender than both, landing two people in the hospital, and he himself being detained instead. His family was shocked at what he had done, as well as the fact that he was concealing his true nature from all of them for so long. Andrew, however, was more worried for his family; He knew that if his Deltahuman abilities and the sole act he used them for became public knowledge, they'd be persecuted and harassed by anti-Deltahumans, possibly even worse.

Thankfully, Andrew was offered an alternative as FAMA stepped in: They would hide his involvement with the incident he caused, and he would be sent to Academy 003, to get a better opportunity to learn how to better control his own powers. Andrew had no choice but to accept, being excused, with only a scant few weeks to say his goodbyes before being sent off to better understand his power and how it should be used.

Type-Chromatic

Sunlight Emission ⫻ Andrew has the ability to take on the qualities of the sun, emitting radiant orange light and intense waves of heat from his entire body. At it's full strength, he becomes dangerous by presence alone, with anyone looking directly at him becoming disoriented and (possibly permanently) blinded, and anything in too close proximity being bombarded by intense levels of heat. Anything he directly touches will be severely burned, being able to start fires and melt through metal with contact alone.

Thankfully, he possesses a level of control and finesse over this ability. He can control just how much heat and light he emits, lowering his level to a gentle radiant glow in case he just needs to provide a light source. He can also selectively use only specific parts of his body, concentrating a flashing burst of light into just his palms, or shrouding just his arm in intense heat to light a fire.

Andrew can only activate his ability at it's full strength for a maximum of thirty seconds, before requiring a whole two minutes before he can activate it again. While he can utilize it at less intense levels and last longer, both the light and heat he emits are interlinked, and must both be activated at the relatively same level; He can't just light himself up without creating a source of heat, nor can he just produce warmth without becoming a glowstick.

Andrew isn't completely immune to his own ability, risking overheating and setting his own clothes aflame if he overuses it too much. In addition, while the light he emits doesn't render him blind or stunned, overuse of it can greatly obscure his vision, especially after he powers down from it, where his eyesight becomes incredibly dim and sensitive. His ability can be resisted through use of eye protection, such as sunglasses or UV goggles, though he can still be difficult to look directly at, and will risk burning anything getting too close with him.

Sophie is a bit above average height. She has a slender frame, but her muscles are toned from her years of sports and staying active. Her legs are her strongest feature thanks to playing soccer as a child and track in her middle school years. Her hair is dyed a light blonde and ends at her shoulders. She keeps it naturally straight and well managed. Her eyes are a gunmetal blue and her eyebrows reveal her naturally brown hair color. She stands tall and confident in her posture. She is light on her feet and moves with some caution because she is aware of the dangers of her ability if she is reckless. One accidental bump into someone she is unaware of, and things get messy.

Sophie’s style is more of a sporty casual. She is either in jeans, joggers, sweats if she’s feeling comfy, or leggings. She always wears various pairs of sneakers or slip ons. Underneath a jacket, hoodie, or button-down she wears either a graphic tee or tank top. Depending on the weather, she’ll either wear a ball cap or beanie, and she’ll just wear her hair up in a ponytail or loose around her shoulders. As for makeup, she usually just brushes her brows and puts on mascara. She always has chapstick on hand.

Sophie’s life has always been about being active and having fun. She’s always been an outgoing and bright girl. After being exposed to the deltacrystal and getting bullied she’d gone into her shell quite a bit, but after a year at the Academy she has blossomed once more.

She might not be a genius, but she always speaks her mind and has confidence in her words. She only shows caution when it involves the feelings of another person or if she is around an Academy staff member. She wants more than anything in the world to become a FAMA agent. Which means she must be diligent, obey the rules (well, only the really strict ones), and put her best foot forward in training and in her schoolwork. She hopes to be an agent that handles the cases of young, or new deltahumans. She wants to help others who are struggling with their new identity like she did.

That said, Sophie is all fun and games until it comes to talking trash or bullying another person. She’s been on the receiving end of it and she never wants another to feel the same shame and loneliness that she did. She has a kind heart and a need to make everyone around her happy. If their happiness is threatened, she’ll do her best to eliminate the threat. Which often doesn’t go as well as she hoped. She’s still human, after all.

Sophie knows a bit about mechanics and housework. She can pick a lock, thanks to her dad’s constant “fix the doorknob” jobs in which the key was lost and they needed to get into the house/room before replacing the knob. She hasn’t really picked up any other skills than that.

Sophie grew up in a small city located in Arizona with her mother, father, and twin sister Emma. While Emma and Sophie shared their looks and clothes, they did not act the same way. Emma was more of a homebody. She’d go to school, come home to do her homework, and either help their mother with cooking or read a book to pass the time. Sophie, on the other hand, became more and more independent as she grew. She spent her early years helping her father with his job and doing sports. He was a fixer. He fixed cars, houses, plumbing, doorknobs, paint jobs, any sort of around-thehouse work that the rich people were too busy or lazy to do themselves. Once she was old enough to be out on her own, she started hanging out with her friends at the local park. She still kept up with her grades. They weren’t stellar like Emma’s, but they were still a smidge above average.

One summer, when Sophie had just turned fourteen , she spent most of her time out roaming the suburbs with her friends. They’d ride their bikes down to the creek and dip their feet in or eat ice cream while they chatted in the park. It was fun for a bit, but soon her friends grew bored. It was too hot in the sun, and staying inside their houses just wasn’t the same. The community pool was nice, but only in the mornings before the sun cooked the concrete.

It was then that one of Sophie’s friend’s suggested that they check out one of the local caves. Sophie was apprehensive at first. Her parents always told her to avoid the caves, but after her friend explained that their older sister had gone before Sophie was okay with it. In fact, the moment they made it to the cave, she felt excited and ready to explore every inch of it. Yet when she stepped inside, it looked much smaller than she expected. It was much dirtier too, with empty beer cans and old socks lying around. Disappointed by what she saw, Sophie was just about to leave when her flashlight caught a glimpse of something behind a crevice. Something shiny and red. She asked her friend if their older sister had found anything in the cave before. Her friend just shrugged it off. Their sister only came to the cave to drink or get high. They didn’t care about what was in it.

Sophie stepped up to the crevice and shone her flashlight inside. There was something red stuck in the cave wall. Her curiosity peaked, and she stuck her hand through the crack just enough to touch the crystal with the tips of her fingers. At first she didn’t feel anything, and then a wave of energy passed through her like a lightning bolt. Sophie jumped back. The crystal shook and the cave wall cracked where it was. Sophie was shaking, and her friends had almost pissed themselves because of what just happened.

Still rattled by the experience, Sophie demanded that they get out of there immediately. She didn’t stick around either. She made the quarter mile walk back to their bikes in less than two minutes and went straight home. Little did she know, she’d just come in contact with an undiscovered delta crystal.

Time passed, and Sophie almost forgot about the incident. Almost. She’d returned to normal, but she felt like something had changed. Like there was this energy inside her just sitting there. She didn’t know how to get it out no matter how hard she exercised, and she didn’t want to tell her parents because she would get in trouble. So, she kept it to herself.

Her ability didn’t show itself until Sophie was riding her bike to a friend’s house after school for a sleepover before school started. She was passing through a normally safe neighborhood when a teenage texting-and-driving Honda Civic passed through a stop sign and headed straight for Sophie. She screamed and threw up her arm, and her body and the car bounced off of each other like two magnets of the same polarity. Sophie was thrown backwards and hit the pavement, and the car was shoved a few feet backwards until it grinded to a stop. Thankfully, no one was harmed.

Sophie could have written it off as dumb luck, but it just so happened that the guy’s girlfriend in the passenger seat had been recording when it happened. There was hard evidence that Sophie had stopped the car, and the girlfriend showed it to the police so that her boyfriend wouldn’t get busted for reckless driving. Thus, Sophie was registered by FAMA.

Now that Sophie was fully aware of deltahumans, deltacrystals, and the organization that was FAMA, she became obsessed with it. She’d never had a calling before and this was it. She wanted to put her ability to use now that she had one.

Unfortunately, now that she was one of the few deltahumans in town, the only deltahuman in school, and had gotten the caves sealed off because of FAMA’s deltacrystal investigation, Sophie and her twin Emma were bullied. Well, Emma was only bullied at first because they mistook her for Sophie, but then they began to bully her for being Sophie’s sister. It got to the point that Emma would sometimes come home crying. She even began to stop talking to Sophie too.

Sophie soon began to lose her friends one by one. A few stuck around because they cared for her, but sometimes Sophie would use her ability at random and it scared them, or they were bullied for being her friend to the point that they avoided her for their own sake. Sophie once accidentally deflected a high five from a teacher. A teacher!! It was just a simple high five, and Sophie activated her power without realizing it.

Now people were starting to fear her. The high five incident sent the teacher flying backwards. They almost sprained their shoulder. Sophie began to tread lightly in school. She was very cautious of what she touched and how she did it. People stopped bullying her. Probably out of fear, but at least she had peace now. Well, she had peace until she found out that their bullying had just passed to her sister.

One day she found a group outside around Emma. They were taunting her. Some of them would call her a loser for being the normal twin, and some of them would call her a delta-lover for being her sister. Sophie was so mad that she punched the main bully right in the nose. When the bully tried to hit her back, Sophie deflected the attack and sent him flying against the school wall.

She definitely got into trouble. Major trouble. Sophie was homeschooled for the rest of the year until FAMA could accept her into one of their “delinquent” facilities. Emma was homeschooled too, because of the bullying, and she took the time to get her GED and move onto college. The twins bonded again through mutual at home studying. Sophie was glad that they were acting like sisters again.

She went to Academy 003 the fall after. While she was nervous to go under her situation, she was excited to train with a FAMA academy. This was her ticket into FAMA. She had to impress them. For her first year at FAMA, Sophie studied hard, practiced every day, and soon had a better understanding of her ability, it’s limits, and it’s dangers.

Sophie did well, and she hopes to do even better this year.

Type-Red

Deflection: Sophie has the ability to deflect projectiles or blunt force by using her arms or legs. While she isn't a physics genius, Sophie understands that she is able to push an object away from her. She is new to the ability, but she is able to redirect the energy in any direction she chooses. She's already used it once to keep a wayward football from hitting her in the head.

Sophie is only able to deflect an object once it is within five feet of her. She can also only deflect objects going less than the highest speed of a fastball. The largest object that Sophie can deflect is about the size of an average car. Any faster or heavier and she is only able to slow it down by a few miles per hour before it hits her.

Unfortunately, Sophie cannot deflect any attack she is unaware of. Such as a low flying object from behind or the side. Her control of the direction of the deflected energy is also directly affected by her emotional state. If she is upset or unfocused, the force could go in any direction it chooses.

Just a lil' section to throw anything here that doesn't fit into the other sections.

Everything about his build is average and very unremarkable. He ate enough food to not starve, though he is slightly toward an athletic build, given the small amount of muscle mass built from "swimming so much". It's clear he's going for a goth aesthetic from the way he dresses. He has a tendency to paint his nails black and wear black makeup. Chronically poor posture reduces his height and allow his hair/hoods to obscure his face, unfortunately adding to the goth aesthetic. Notably, he's got a pretty typical Southern Carolina accent, and his voice is unexpectedly higher pitched. Apparently he does just enough maintenance on his hair to keep it from becoming a matted mess-- why he has two dreadlocks is a mystery, to which he replied, "Cause I do." Lazily he lets his facial hair grow however it wants, resulting in a scrubby mess that could almost be classified as a goatee.

There are burn scars on his left arm and hand, which happens to be his dominant hand, and they look very old and well healed, implying he's had them for years. His teeth are crooked, he squints a lot when focused on close things, he limps slightly, and there's a very high possibility these are signs of neglect. (Note: Subject needs glasses but has none.) He has his right ear pierced, which was performed by a friend and a heated safety pin, apparently. There is also a very poorly healed and applied tattoo-- three bats on his outer right forearm. Plenty of scrapes and old scars imply he had a rough and tumble childhood-- some of said scars clearly having needed medical attention, but left to heal on their own.

Black clothing purchased by someone with very little money. All of his clothing is well worn, faded, and somewhat threadbare. He has two pairs of shoes-- black basketball high-tops and black leather combat boots. He tries to accessorize with necklaces and bracelets he made himself-- thread, beads, and charms he's acquired-- and the necklace made of safety pins and monster energy drink tabs.

A truly troubled youth. He's very depressed, unmotivated, and apathetic. He does what he's told but only if he can't find a way out of it. Cornelius watches and endures-- stuck in some sort of survival mode-- often shutting down when authority figures lecture him. While he tends to be more on the quiet side, he's definitely opinionated, and makes harsh judgments through the lens of his own misanthropic views. He expects the worst and is always waiting for bad things to happen, especially following good events. He has only one friend and considers most people only out to use him. Apparently he also doesn't believe in the future and that everything is pointless ultimately. Part of him can't believe he even lived to be eighteen.

More often than not, he will be lazy or late, likely because of this negative outlook. Perhaps this is where he draws inspiration for his art? Or perhaps it's rooted in his daydreaming nature. He seems to choose staying in his own head over being present most of the time. When he does speak up, it's usually to drag others down, which makes him something something of a subtle bully. There is some irony in this, as he was very much the subject of beatings and bullying from neighborhood children. In this tendency is where a certain temper manifested itself. It seems his anger often turned to provocation of said tormentors, that in some twisted manner, upsetting people allowed him power and control over situations where there was little for him. Importantly, this is one trait he keeps to date-- sometimes he'll even get the better of patient adults with his provocations.

Swimming: "I got pushed into a pool and didn't wanna die back then."
Cornelius is a competitive level swimmer. He'd competed in swim meets on a state level in his youth. In high school, before dropping out as a Junior, he was often placing first or second on a state level.

Pen and Ink Art: "I just doodle the stuff that's in my head when I'm bored." These are no mere doodles, as he terms them, and his artistic talent is obvious from a glance at his art. He often draws monsters-- horrible things for sure but he could definitely go to Art school with this talent. Too bad he's shy about showing his art.

Cornelius grew up outside of Ft. Jackson, SC as the son of an Army father, that only paid the child support, to his chronically ill and mentally unstable mother. His first memory is of his mother telling him he was the product of a "broken condom". She always told him that he needed to take care of her-- that this was his purpose in life. She told him he was, "Free labor," and always ordered him about the house to clean, cook, and do whatever task she didn't want to do. Were it not for his Grandmother coming to live with them, Cornelius likely would have never entered school-- as a result he was a late start anyway.

Most of his youth is a muddled memory of being ignored or screamed at by his mother-- a dizzying and unpredictable behavior pattern. His mother would tell him always that she loved him and he developed to hate the words. Days would pass sometimes as she ignored him-- only buying food for herself or cooking for herself. Then there were times when she would hyper-focus on him-- screaming at him for random "infractions" or beating him as punishment. Most of his life, Cornelius was doing whatever his mother told him to do, but his Grandmother would take him on "trips to the park" in her van for days.

It was his Grandmother-- his mother's mother-- that tried her hardest to keep him away from his mother's abuse, but simply didn't have the tools or the best ideas as to how to do so. Often, his Grandmother talked about how, "Blood is thicker than water," and that, "Your family is still your family." His Grandmother's old school southern Black traditions of "handing business within the family," caused a lot of harm to his childhood. He was introduced to extended family but, he found in them mental illness and substance abuse-- that his mother's awful-ness was a family problem, generations in the making. Regardless, most of his memories of his Grandmother are positive-- especially since she was the first person to take him to the pool. She showed him kindness and redefined love in his eye.

Then she passed away during his first year of middle school, from complications due to diabetes, and he was left her van in the driveway of their house. This was when he started trying to escape his tyrannical mother on his own-- leading him to walking the streets, drinking underage, smoking weed underage, and getting the shit beat out of him by bullies, with even less protection. He'd been tormented by neighborhood and school kids for his ill-fitting clothes, the fact he didn't have a dad, and because he "lived in a van," most of his life. There was always his Grandmother to keep an eye on him, whenever his mother decided to lock him out of the house for days, but now she was gone.

This is when he knew the world was truly cruel. He would live on the streets or in his Grandmother's van on the weekends or whenever his mother got to ignoring him for days. Cornelius would have to stay home and "be her slave" whenever she wanted, as he'd lost the will to run away a long time ago, and there was no longer a Grandmother to save him. He often went to the local grocery store and asked the stockers for discarded food. They got to know him, as it was just a small-time grocery store, and tried their best to save some food for him. Always, he was just that beat up kid, wearing black, that came around the back of the store, and didn't ask much. Sometimes they would pay him for breaking down cardboard boxes, when he looked like he could use the money, but they "minded their business" as some communities tend to do. Cornelius' one and only friend was the night-stocker that always tried to sneak him the rotisserie chickens. Eventually, after a particularly savage beating one night, with only apples left over to eat in his van, Cornelius discovered his power.

Biting into the apple made his swollen-shut eye open, his cuts stop bleeding, and some of his pain went away. Simultaneously, upon finding said magic apple, he threw it away from himself in fear, and the resulting fire-cracker-like explosion definitely made him curious. Very curious. As in, he later spent days tossing fire-cracker apples around, until he caught some very unwanted attention. The Government "go into this academy or else" type of attention. And here he is.

Fruit Manipulation-- Healing:
"Like a video game powerup or somethin'."
Subject has the ability to grant properties to fruit which, upon consumption, can cause extremely accelerated healing. A YELLOW AURA manifests around the healing fruit. Currently, healing cuts, decreasing pain, reducing inflammation, and reducing bruises are the upper limits, but it is possible this ability could be enhanced with practice.

Fruit Manipulation-- Explosive:
"I never liked pineapple anyway."
Subject can also imbue fruit with explosive properties. They manifest as a BRIGHT RED aura around the fruit in question. Detonation time is up to whenever he wills it-- currently explosive force is that of a firecracker, with potential to be explored.

Fruit Manipulation-- Healing:
Fruit is required. Slow-acting, the restorative properties can take up to five minutes for full effect, with the time increasing based on how injured the person consuming them is. Broken bones can be healed but it would take an hour with the most efficient fruit. Healing properties can only be used on one fruit at a time and only up to three fruits per 24 hours. Larger fruits are difficult to imbue with the energy and smaller ones don't have as potent healing abilities. Splitting the fruit decreases the healing properties by however many slices it's divided into, and proportional to the size of said fruit piece. That said: Apples and Bananas are the most efficient fruit to enhance with wit healing but pomegranates, grapes, or berries are shit-tier.

Fruit Manipulation-- Explosive:
There is a stamina drain based on quantity of fruit, size of said fruit, how long the fruit remain with explosive properties, and how potent the explosive effects are intended to be. Larger fruit are better suited for larger explosive force but fewer of them can be enhanced within a 24 hour cycle-- up to 3 watermelons, for example. Smaller fruit are easier for smaller explosions but with lesser ability to "hold" explosive force-- handful of raspberries would be like throwing 2 firecrackers. With this considered: Watermelons become near dynamite level force, leaving Cantaloupes closer to pipe-bombs, peaches as grenades, and berries at firecracker level. Oranges are a wildcard fruit for efficiency, as each slice can be imbued with firecracker force, thus making it somewhat the most efficient fruit. Pomegranates are shit-tier once again, as each "pellet" counts individually as a fruit, and the resulting explosion is a single fire-cracker, with a high energy cost. Best fruit is peaches.

Fruit Manipulation-- Healing:
Physical contact must happen in order to make a Healing Fruit. Once a fruit has healing properties, they can only be taken away with another touch, or when Cornelius goes unconscious. Anyone can eat the fruit-- even if they're allergic, as the healing properties counteracts the anaphylaxis response. He can't control who the fruit heals. Ever. If the fruit is destroyed the energy is lost. It's still just a fruit. Depending on the size of the fruit, giving it healing properties can take a half-hour at max.

Fruit Manipulation-- Explosive:
Physical contact must happen in order to make an Explosive Fruit. He has no idea how to reverse it. Some of the fruit will explode on its own, if he is exhausted enough, with all of it detonating upon his going unconscious. As long as the fruit remains fruit (i.e. unaffected by digestion) it has potential to explode, if it wasn't chewed well. If the fruit is destroyed the explosive properties weakly detonate-- with the force of opening a soda can and the noise of one. He's not immune to his own Fruit Explosions.

ADMIN NOTE: Cornelius' father has been identified but has had 0 contact with his child in person. Current theory as to why he's manifested these powers is, of course, due to parental lineage, but this has not been explored fully, as Cornelius' mother was reported missing two months prior to the publishing of this document. Indeed, while Cornelius' father was identified, he is currently AWOL from the Army as of 2017. Due to Automatic payments deducted from his father's account, the child support was paid in full, but there remains the mystery, as no other account activity was reported.

The first thing one usually notices about the teenager, when he's not looking at the ground, is his striking azure eyes. It takes a moment but as their gaze falls they are able to take in the boyish, almost cherubic facial structure that has started strengthening and hardening as the machinations of puberty work to phase the boy into a man. Other than the bones shifting, the boy seemed to have won the genetic lottery as his straight nose, ears, and mouth all seemed perfectly proportioned to his facial structure. Soft ash-brown hair, lighter in some places but darker in others could be seen occasionally dipping into his eyes, but was normally well-styled and parted to the left.

Generally, Aymeric had some sort of item orbiting him at all times. Usually, it was a spherical silver orb that was gifted to him by his grandfather. Other times it was a Yo-yo but regardless it orbited him based on his mood, getting faster if he got angry and slower as he relaxed. It also could move in more erratic patterns when Aymeric listened to his music.

The Teen stood at six foot even, having grown quite a bit in the recent summer, and on his last doctor's visit weighed in at 163 pounds. He lacked the broad shoulders and bulk of other boys but was well-toned and wiry showing that he was quite active, and while it was barely evident, there was a contrast to the width of his shoulders and that of his waist such as a competitive swimmer tended to have. Having just spent a summer outside, his usual creamy skin was bronzed over and gave the boy a healthy honey tone.

While all of this would pass through an observer rather quickly, they would also notice that the boy seemed to not even notice that he had such looks. His head was always down, looking away and rarely smiled, only giving sideways or half smirks, and only then when he decided it was required. This was usually joined in with his eyes darting to a random location as if he had trouble keeping eye contact with anyone. When forced, he can turn on the charm though, the half-smirk filling out and growing wider, showing a dimpled full smile that can light up his eyes as well.

Aymeric was not even able to grow more than wisps upon his lip, but he also keeps his arms and legs shaved as many other swimmers do. This has led to some bullying but most people tend to ignore him, and just whisper. All in all, Aymeric is a physically healthy teenage boy, still going through change and attempting to stave off zits.

A varying style when it came to clothing. Sometimes opting for a layered system where he would wear a single-colored t-shirt underneath a contrasting single-colored collared shirt, and sometimes wearing simple button-ups. Most of the time the color scheme alternated blues and browns but every color of the rainbow could be swapped in whenever Aymeric wanted. Overtop of this simple outfit would be a New England Patriots hoodie and finishing the picture nine times out of ten were blue jeans of varying styles. Headphones were an almost constant companion to the boy either in buds or wireless headphones.

One of a kind.

Though so is everyone when you get down to brass tacks. Aymeric is a mesh of a few of his biggest influencers. His father, mother, grandparents, and brother. He's an overall affable person, willing to give anyone at least a moment of his time to talk to and listen to what they have to say, although he doesn't go out of his way to ask. He plays at the edges of conversation, attentive and polite but non-engaging until directly addressed. He likes to find his place in a conversation before jumping in and takes stock of everyone else.

He's the honest type, not to a brutal level but he was raised to tell the truth and doesn't see the good in telling someone a lie. However, he isn't naive and can navigate white lies well enough. For the big stuff, he has a simple philosophy. He would rather someone tell him the truth than spare his feelings. To him, if he found out later it would make the situation worse knowing a friend told him something to protect his feelings.

As stated before Aymeric prefers to skirt the edges of conversation which means he neither likes nor covets being the center of attention and as a result isn't really very assertive nor a push-over. Neither a leader nor a follower Aymeric does his best to articulate his opinion on a situation and is very comfortable allowing someone else to make the final call, though he will argue his points if he believes in them strongly enough. He's a bit of an enigma with those things and can make larger groups complicated for him.

Aymeric was raised to have a superiority complex, but as he's grown through his teenage years it's been much more tempered. It used to be one of his greatest flaws and he still sometimes struggles with it though now he is a lot more secure about himself and focuses on that instead of other people. This also can be a detriment as he closes off.

Speaking of closing off, Aymeric is quite an escapist when it comes to things he can't control. He was raised in a strict family and when he was a young teen he rebelled heavily at every rule possible. He matured out of the tantrums and rule-breaking and instead started using his music as a form of escapism when the world got too stressful or the walls started closing in. He has since evolved into using daydreams, and a form of meditation with his ability along with a healthy dose of sports and video games.

Aymeric skirts the line for the most part when it comes to his outward show of agreeableness. While overall cooperative, he can get quite competitive as well, a need to prove himself manifesting from his childhood along with a shot of not wanting to let his family down. He's tactful and edges over the line to be too agreeable, as he does care a bit too much what others think of him and how he presents himself. He's used to bullies, but it's the people that seem like they're friendly that he focuses on. What do they really think of him? This feeling isn't overwhelming but always in the back of his mind as a thought during meetings.

He is a very neat person, taking pride in the organization, cleanliness, and structure of all his activities. His room is almost always spotless and that is mirrored in his appearance, classwork, sports, and really all of his doings. While not to a level of someone with OCD, Aymeric does have a system and can be thrown off if that system is disrupted or disturbed. This also tends to go hand in hand with his power.

Aymeric is also a very sympathetic person, and his ability to be empathetic is far beyond his years. He respects even those that bully him and does his best not to judge. Temper sometimes gets the better of him and he will defend himself but he tends to feel bad about it later and always tries to mend broken fences instead of leaving planks laying on the ground. He's highly analytical and likes to think of the many reasons why something occurred instead of allowing his emotions to boil over. He's not perfect though, and when he does lose control it takes a bit to regain it.

Speaking of anger though, Aymeric for the most part rarely does get angry. A combination of his empathy and analytical mind. Throw in a few other ingredients such as his escapist attitude and control over himself and you have a relatively stable and cooled down person.

All of this, however, changes when he's on the field participating in sports. There is keeps that analytical brain of his and control but fosters it into his competitive side to aim for winning. Be it Football, Swimming or Baseball Aymeric puts his all into it and does not like losing. You could go so far as to call him a bad loser in fact as he shuts down and retreats into himself until he can cool down. He can usually fight through it to show sportsmanship but to those that know him, he's a changed person until he's had a chance to think through everything. He's had to make many apologies to other players after saying something stupid in the heat of the moment.

Strategy: Be it Chess or a video game, Aymeric thrives in high-stress mental environments. His brain is able to process information quickly and he routinely competes in chess tournaments when he can. In games, he prefers not to take such a competitive stance but enjoys puzzles, riddles, and brain teasers.

Athletic: Aymeric plays Football, Baseball, swims, and dives competitively and has for years. His body is well toned though looks can be deceiving as his shoulder structure could leave you guessing. His sinew is touch as steel though and those that underestimate him can sometimes find themselves surprised. Aymeric can also run for extended durations if required, and this stamina translates to his power as well.

Discipline: Aymeric prides himself on his self-discipline and is constantly stretching his boundaries. Always practicing his powers, always keeping himself prepared for the day after he leaves the schools of FAMA.

Music: While never seen without headphones, Aymeric is also a talented Violinist and singer. He can read, transpose, and write music if needed though prefers performing than the musical theory itself. A form of his escapism, Aymeric can stay in his room an entire day just playing and singing.

The Renault family came to America after the American War of Independence. The patriarch of the family, a Major in the French Army had been sent to help the Continental Army fight against the British, and instead of returning to France, Francois Renault called his family to him and with his acquired wealth built a large estate in Boston. Other than a brief trip back to France to fight for its own revolution the Renault family became staunch American loyalists.

Today, the family is a prestigious one in the Massachusetts area. Making a name for themselves as doctors, lawyers, politicians, and soldiers being born into the Renault family meant a lot of weight on your shoulders.

It was no different for Aymeric, born on April 1st, 2003 to the Thibault Renault, a congressman, and Claire Renault, a doctor specializing in the pediatric department. Celebrations accompanied the birth and even as an infant, the weight of the family legacy started pressing.

Aymeric was mostly raised by his grandparents and nanny as his parents were both quite busy with their work. He was a 'good' baby by normal standards. He didn't cry a lot, instead, showing an intense curiosity about the world. He spent his days learning to walk, to talk, to read, and of course how to use the toilet! It was a simple childhood, and he was happy.

Nothing really changed as he entered the so-called forming years of personality. He lost his grandmother when he was five though and while he was still young enough not to understand loss, he did feel it. His grandfather was different, not less wise but he didn't smile as much and spent more and more time with the young Aymeric, taking him out for walks through Boston's many parks while listening to all kinds of music. It was there that Aymeric found his love for the game of chess. He and grandfather would play for hours before returning for Aymeric's school lessons done by a home school teacher working privately for the Renault's.

In an effort to get the boy used to others though he was enrolled in a private school when he was ten, starting in the fifth grade. It was a polarizing experience for the young boy. On one hand, he was gaining many social skills and found a love for sports. But on the other, he was introduced to those wonderful bullies who made fun of his name, his uptight demeanor, and naivety. He did form a close knot of friends though, and the respect of his teammates which helped him through the year. It was after that school year when Aymeric's powers would show up. He had been invited to a camp-out in the Green Mountain National Forest by his best friend's family. It was a great time, but after taking a wrong turn in the dark, Aymeric found himself lost and separated for two days. He was eventually found by park rangers but during the time lost Aymeric had taken shelter in a cave that had glowed blue. Aymeric spent the night in that cave, next to a large stack of blue crystals that had provided the glow.

At first, after he had been rescued nothing changed. He was returned to his family no worse for wear, just tired and a bit clingy. But when the rangers discovered the cave Aymeric described to them, FAMA was contacted and arrived at the Renault house just as Aymeric launched a chair at the wall, having gotten frustrated at being removed from school again. His and his family's shock was evident, none so much as his younger brother who idolized him. He was required to register and after a year of trial and error, Aymeric functioned as a 'human' again. He was allowed to return to classes and spent his middle school years adapting to his new powers. His personality shifted many times in this tumultuous period and his relationship with his younger brother, which had always been strong started to fray. Aymeric retreated inside instead of outward and even his grandfather started losing the relationship he had with the boy.

At school Aymeric continued his sports, using it as a way to discipline his powers. He never used them for an edge but did let the strict environment better him. He thrived in such an environment and between sports, music, and sports he was a functional teenager. He made excellent grades but continued on a pattern until he was 16. It was then that he was invited to the Academy. The decision to leave was an easy one, as his family was all a bit distant now and Aymeric wished to start standing on his own two feet more. And what better way to find a good use for his powers than there.

And so, Aymeric Renault would start his first day in Academy 003.

Type-Blue.

Aymeric possesses a specific form of telekinesis that one might call unusual. It functions as regular telekinesis, he can move objects with the sheer force of will. Except he technically can only move one object at a time, but this single object is charged with immense telekinetic force. If the object comes in contact with another one, it will be "attached" to the first one and Aymeric can manipulate it as well - almost like it was one object. He can lift up two ton's worth of objects and he can arrange how they are attached to each other. So Aymeric can shape the objects like a wall, or like one long pole-like fixture. When Aymeric releases control of the object, the chain will break and he'll have to make a new chain, but he can apply the effect to himself. Meaning he can do stuff like fly, and create chains using himself as the base of it.

Aymeric's ability has a range of around five meters, which isn't that far. He can, again, technically lift up only one object at a time but in order to start the chain, the first object has to physically touch another one. If he releases control of the object, the chain will break and he'll have to start a new one. Aymeric can lift up any solid object long as it's not nailed down and his chains can have as many objects as he can fit into a ton. Also, having the chain going for awhile really begins to strain him.

Aymeric has the generic telekinetic drawbacks, usage of his abilities cause headaches and nosebleeds and can knock him out if he cuts loose. In addition, damaging the "start" of the chain can cause the rest of the objects to fall out of it.

Mary is not considered very attractive by modern standards due to her large, upturned nose, sunken bulgy eyes, toothy English smile, and small mouth. She has an ovular face with thin, but wavy, reddish golden blond hair. Her eyes are hazel, but often appear to change color depending on her environment, varying from green to blue to yellow to brown. Her face and body is speckled with dark freckles that contrast her pale skin.
The girl has a slightly small, but mature chest and broad shoulders for a female. Her muscles are just slightly developed from cardio activities, leading to toned, but not muscular arms and belly, a line down to her belly button visible. Her hands and feet are bony, and skin somewhat translucent and prone to bruising and discoloration.

Her fashion sense is best described as Bohemian, hippie, or flower child. She prefers to go natural, without make-up, and her hair unstyled. She enjoys light, airy clothing that can flow in the wind and appreciates textures such as lace and knit. Clothing is usually covered in beautiful patterns and many colors or pure white. She usually accents her hair with flowers, chains, or headbands. Stone and bead jewelry is often found around her neck, wrists, and ankles.

To strangers, Mary may seem cold or distant. She rarely smiles and usually appears somewhat sad or lonely. She avoids eye contact, and when looking toward someone, it often appears that she is looking through or past them with a vacant or dreamy expression.

She keeps to herself and only speaks softly and cautiously when spoken to, speaking a few words when she does or responds with sounds. She is shy, introverted, and avoids socialization and especially confrontation. In most cases, she would just agree or do what is asked of her, keeping her head down.

Due to her childhood bullying, Mary developed social anxiety and stage front. When near other people, she freezes, stutters, or stammers when trying to speak. She also becomes more clumsy, causing her to trip, fall, or drop things she’s holding. When she is actually able to bring herself to communicate, she is friendly and kind.

Closer friends get to see more sides of her. The more she gets to know or is exposed to someone, the more likely Mary will open up to them. When speaking about something she is deeply passionate about--such as the wellbeing of plants and animals and protecting the earth and its inhabitants--her eyes twinkle and she speaks louder and higher pitched than normal, sounding almost childish at times. She may even smile, her little closed-mouth smile. The happier she is, the pinker her cheeks and face become.

While Mary deeply cares about people as a species, she has difficulty forming bonds with others. The girl has trouble understanding body language and cues. While she easily cries while watching sad movies, a real-life death or separation may not seem to affect her at all. That does not mean she doesn’t care, however. She can feel emotion as deeply as anyone, even if she has trouble showing it.

Academics: Her limited social life has allowed her to focus more on studying. While she is not academically talented, she puts a lot of time and hard work in to make up for it.
Hobbies: Mary enjoys art in many forms, reading, gardening, swimming, and hiking.

Mary grew up in a rural town of New Hampshire. Her parents divorced early on and she and her sister were shuffled between them. Her father was a stern, heartbroken man who pushed her to exceed academically and had trouble showing love. Her mother was a drunk who stayed with an abusive alcoholic boyfriend. She feared for her life when she was with her mother, and suffered from loneliness and insecurity when she was with her father. Her sister never seemed to be around, and when she was, she saw Mary as an embarrassment.

School was no better. She was often targeted by bullies due to her meekness and less than desirable looks and poverty. While teachers regarded her as the perfect student, they never stood up for her. Bullies called her ugly, weak, stupid, brown-noser, and often shoved or ordered her around. If people weren’t bullying her, she was left to her lonesome. If groups were required, she was always picked last or forced to do all or at least the majority of the work. Mary would just keep her head down and do as she was told, not wanting to start anything.

Finding no sanctuary at home or school, Mary would retreat to nature. When she was young she would hide in the woods, spending her time climbing trees and searching for little bugs, or feeding animals food stolen from home. As she got older, she would slip away with a book, music, or sketch pad, or go exploring.

It was on one of these explorations that she discovered a delta crystal in a small crater. At first, she thought it was a meteorite. Wanting to add it to her collection, she reached down for it and a strange power surged through her, causing her to fall to the ground unconscious.

It was hours later that she came to, woken by a strange new sense of danger. She could hear snarling, howling, and the shuffle of leaves. Something was out there--she could sense it, see it. There were actually several large blue creatures in a whole night sky of green and blue stars.

Mary sat frozen in fear. She was surrounded by a pack of coyotes. She held her breath and closed her eyes, awaiting her end.

The coyotes lunged and Mary screamed. Prickle bushes and vines shot from the ground, encircling her, stabbing out and stopping the dogs in their tracks. The coyotes yelped, whimpered, trying to free themselves from the bushes. When she dared to open her eyes, she saw the dogs were long gone and the was surrounded by a circle of plants dripping with blood.

The next day, Mary confessed to her father what happened and proudly demonstrated her newfound power. But there was no praise, no hug of relief that she survived. He simply walked away without word.

The next morning he informed her that she would be sent to boarding sxhool-Academy 003. A week later she was packed and at the airport. She and her alcohol-infused mother shared a tearful goodbye. Just before leaving she received a pat on the shoulder--the first ever sign of affection from her father--before boarding the plane bound for Myrtle Beach, SC.

Chlorokinesis: Mary can telepathically control the growth and movement of plants. This allows her to grow plants and seeds around her to great sizes, and to use vines and branches like prehensile arms or tails. She can also induce flowering, fruiting, seeding, and pollination. These skills can be used to feed herself and others, increase her supply of plant seeds, and to provide cover with clouds of pollen, petals, leaves, or airborne seeds. Created matter cannot be reabsorbed. Plants that cannot sustain themselves naturally will die.

Chloropathy: This ability allows Mary to feel light, moisture, heat, cold, pain, and vibration through plants. This ability helps her detect non-living things such as machines and other unnatural occurrences.

Life Aura: Mare can see living plants and the creatures that come in contact with them. Unliving or dead matter appears black or grey. Plants appear green, molds and fungus are blue-green, animals-blue, regular humans-indigo, and delta humans-violet.

Ecological Empathy: As an extension of her aura sense, Mary is able to feel distress, such as that caused by wildfire or the chopping of trees, or bliss caused by a good day. She can sense fear and agitation in animals. Humans are more complex, so she can only sense intese emotions. Her empathy manifests as 'gut feelings', such as heart or stomach pain.

Chlorokinesis: Cannot conjure plants out of nothing, nor can she control or revive dead plants or materials such as paper or wood. This means Mary is at a disadvantage while in buildings and cities where there is little plant matter and soil. She also cannot alter the DNA of her plants, so the usefulness of her plants is limited by their species.

Her maximum range is roughly 100 yards (one football field). Her strongest vine could only support about 80 lbs including its own weight, but she can control approximately 1 ton (large truck) of plant matter at a time. Heavy use of her power leases to physical and mental fatigue.

Other abilities: Limited range (see above). Animals and people can be sensed while in contact with her plants, but may only be sensed for about 2 minutes after contact is broken. Excessive use of her abilities may lead to headaches and migraines.

Her power is partially derived from solar energy, so she is weaker at night, during overcast or cloudy weather, and especially during autumn and winter when days are shorter. She is also more sensitive to heat and cold than most people.

Her abilities are easily countered with fire, lightning, and ice. These elements can outright destroy any plant matter she creates. Fire and other energy bursts can also obscures her aura sense, causing it turn shades of red, orange, and yellow.
