Appearance: Blue is a typical Croagunk in appearance. His posture and demeanor give the impression he doesn't care much.
Personality:
Short Biography: Croagunk was among some of the first to arrive from Moonfall. Cloudgate was not greatly prepared in the first few weeks of it all happening. Blue stole some food to keep himself fed and the next thing he knew he was in with the wrong crowd. It didn't help that he was a Croagunk, which is largely seen as a 'villainous' pokemon. Why fight first impression when you can be them though. Due to his greater size compared to other kids his age, he quickly gained a good amount of respect among the sprouting criminals. When one talks about the growing frustrations in Cloudgate, they typically blame people like Blue.
When Blue showed the gang a flyer to join Scorch's guild, they laughed at him. He equally laughed it off and said he was joining as a joke. But in some regard he wants this to be the secret ticket to help him be accepted.
"Feet fail me not, this one opportunity is all that I've got!"
Name: Ting, after the sound metal makes when it strikes rock.
Age: Ting is a relatively young adult. Probably about 20 in human years
Gender: Male
Species: Aron
Ability: Rock Head - Prevents recoil damage from moves like Double Edge or Take Down
Appearance: While most Aron have armor that shines like polished steel (mostly because it is), Tang's armor is more of a dusty gray, and there are several dings and scratches that Ting has yet to try and fix. He also wears a bright orange cloth wrapped around his abdomen at all times, leaving room for his legs and spike, of course.
Personality: Having such a rough childhood, Ting is untrusting of people at first, as he is used to being lied to or manipulated in some fasion. However, on the flipside, he is also very selfless and charitable. Knowing what it's like to be alone and in constant suffering has made him want to ease the burdens of others, especially his brothers and sisters, wherever they may be. Either way, he's not afraid of hard work, and is willing to get his hands (legs?) dirty.
Short Biography:
Deep in the mountain ranges to the east, there is an area that can only be called bandit territory. Highwaymen, cutpurses, and all manner of marauders litter the landscape. Many passersby avoid the area like the plague, or stop for nothing while passing through. However, despite this, several small villages are dotted around the mountains, and are usually kept in check by the bandits.
The leader of these bandits is an Aggron who calls himself Rockheart the Unbreakable. Rockheart rarely leaves his mountain, usually only doing so when someone is defiant enough to try and escape his rule so that he can put them down. It is said his defenses are impregnable, and his attacks can shatter entire buildings, though no-one has actually ever lived to tell these tales. Most of these rumors come from followers of Rockheart in order to scare people into submission.
Rockheart has amassed a hoard of the years of all manner of things. Money, jewelry, concubines, and it is even rumored that he possesses a mega stone. Of course, if you're going to have so many concubines around, you're bound to get some of them pregnant. And this, unfortunately, was somewhat of a common occurrence. Rockheart bore many bastard children with his concubines, and eventually, he began branding his children. Those born to him would have the letter "R" carved into their sides, forever marking them as a child of the bandit king, before being sent off the mountain to any one of many villages.
Whether out of fear that they'd be like their father, or hatred for the same person, sons and daughters of Rockheart were shunned by those who lived in the region. People would hurl both insults and stones at the the cursed offspring, in an attempt to get them to leave.
For many of these children, most of which weren't even given names, this tactic proved effective, and sent most of them scurrying. Ting was one of these children who ran away. He spent most of his early life on the road, begging from those who would pass by, or stealing from those who made the mistake of camping out.
After what felt like years of traveling, Ting finally made his way to Starstone, where he managed to find some work in an iron mine. Unfortunately for Ting, the large "R" carved into his right side betrayed his lineage, and those who knew of it would steal from him, blame him for false allegations, and otherwise making Ting's life hell. Eventually, Ting was blamed for stealing from the iron mine, and was fired from his job. Learning his lesson about his ancestry, he spent the last of his money on cloth to wrap around himself to hide the scar from Rockheart.
Eventually, Ting wandered to Cloudgate, where he was unknown, and could start again. Once more, fate apparently had other plans for Ting, as the shade began to set in, and Ting found himself trapped in Cloudgate. Finding work as a construction worker, Ting tried to save up, hoping to one day return to his brothers and sisters in the mountains to free them from their suffering, and possibly even stand toe-to-toe against his father. But he'd need a better source of income than this. He'd need connections, he'd need his name to be worth something. And that's when he say the flyer.
That's it! An Exploration Team! He could go places he never could before, spreading his name and earning glory to one day rescue his kin. Though first, he'd need to get accepted. Will he have the strength and force of will to make it into Scorch's guild? Or will he find himself tossed aside once again?
Move Set: Harden, Head Smash, Metal Claw, Headbutt
Equipment: Ting keeps most of his money on him (if he has any at all), his orange cloth, and some form of food (usually iron scrap).
Other: Ting is still somewhat ashamed of his ancestry, and will assume the worst if his secret is revealed.
Eve is a somewhat sarcastic yet somehow still genuine Eevee who tries to see the good in everyone. She prides herself in her abilities and talents, as well as her looks, which is in contrast to her anxiety about how she appears to others. She tries her best to do good things for others even when there's no real benefit to her and she loves being able to help.
Short Biography:
Eve is the third child of an Umbreon and an Espeon, so she spent a lot of time learning the ways of booksmarts from her psychic mother and the ways of streetsmarts from her dad. She also wound up being the third of eight children, leaving her to have to help take care of her younger siblings. This was all well and good until the Shade appeared, leaving them to have to move to Cloudgate where the family began struggling to stay afloat. Because of this, Eve thought that she should try to join a rescue team to help bring some stability to her family. Her mother disapproves, but Eve believes she can make a difference both for them and for pokemon everywhere.
While we wait, I figure we can chat a bit. I can start us off with a simple question!
Why did you select the pokemon you did? I chose Buneary because Lopunny is unironically my favorite pokemon. When megas came out and she got a new form, I was ecstatic for my shiny Lopunny "Lady" to have great setup/sweep potential.
I had a super hard time choosing since I have so many pokemon I love, but I went with Shinx since on my first playthrough of Diamond I caught one super early and it went all the way with me to beat Cynthia as a mighty Luxray. Was a real MVP for a lot of fights
I found it really hard to pick a Pokemon. I ended up picking Croagunk because I thought I could make a cool backstory out of it. In the games, both normal and mystery dungeon, poison types are the main low level villain Pokemon. So I thought it could be cool playing up on that assumption, Croagunk is a cool poison type.
Appearance: Mostly resembles the usual Bagon, but his skin tone leans towards a darker blue-green as opposed to a solid blue. The three gray ridges that cover the top of his head are also slightly smaller than normal.
Personality: Tusk isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Some of his approaches to conversation can sound more like confrontations rather than small talk, as he tends to speak rather directly and loudly. He doesn't go out of his way to make hostilities, but almost always prefers to resolve any problems with his own sort of diplomacy: bashing things in with his head. He will not hesitate to charge face first into the fray, and looks to live up to his father's legacy to, one day, be able to soar the skies. That being said, despite his daring attempts to look heroic, this Hasty nature can cause a world of trouble for missions with concrete plans. He trains everyday to meet his self-imposed steep expectations, and dislikes slackers of any magnitude.
Short Biography: Tusk was closely nurtured by his parents since early childhood as their second youngest child of four. He was rather insecure throughout his younger years, as he was often teased by his siblings for being the smallest one. He always looked up to his father, Skiff, a Salamence who had been a senior member of Scorch's Guild in the past before striking an early retirement after an incident led to his permanent inability to use his wings. While Skiff wanted his children to forage different paths in fear that they would suffer the same fate, Tusk was regaled by the enamored tales of his father's strength as a fighter and fame as an adventurer, wanting to make more out of his sheltered life in Cloudgate.
Though he was terrified from the stories of the Shade, Tusk felt that he belonged in the way of those who would help others affected by it, much to the chagrin of his family. He began to train every day by honing the sheer force behind his head, though it was done so in secrecy, for his father did not support it in the slightest. He would still lose out in scuffles against his older siblings, but only took those losses as more reason to smash large rocks every day. When the wind brought news of the legendary Scorch's return, he would go to seek out the recruitment drive for the exploration team against his father's wishes.
Move Set:
Headbutt

Equipment: N/A
Other: Tusk loves to be pet/nuzzled along his snout, but he refuses to admit or allow it.
I love Dragon Pokemon a ton, and Bagon was the first Shiny Pokemon that I ever encountered and caught. Also Bagon is really cute.

I look forward to seeing whether or not he goes "skra".
Veronica looks like every other Litwick. She does wear black ribbon bows on either side of her head. Obviously, they are fireproof.
Personality: Veronica is a quiet Pokémon. Under normal circumstances, she generally doesn’t speak to others much, and prefers to keep to herself. When she does talk, she is blunt, and gets straight to the point to end the conversation as quickly as possible. She doesn’t express her emotions much, but when she does get too emotional, things have been known to accidentally catch on fire. Her favorite activity is reading books, and she likes learning about a variety of different subjects.
Veronica is lacking in physical ability. She’s not physically strong, not a fast runner, and gets tired easily after a lot of activity. She typically avoids exerting herself too much. However, when it becomes necessary to perform manual labor, she will never complain about it. She'll just suffer in silence until the task is complete. Complaining is something that irritates her more than physical fatigue.
Veronica spends much of her time reading about epic adventures, and now she would love to go on one herself. However, her true reason for joining an exploration team is to show others that ghost types aren’t the scary monsters everyone makes them out to be. While she is quite reserved, Veronica is actually rather friendly deep down. It’s just most Pokémon see a Ghost type, and judge her solely based on that. She can be your best friend if you have the patience to deal with her.
Short Biography: Veronica was born and raised and Cloudgate. Her mother is a Chandelure, her father is a Gengar. There weren’t many Ghost Pokémon around where she lived. Ghost Pokémon have been the subject of terrible stories, and a lot of other Pokémon tend to believe them. So, Veronica was subject to much bullying growing up. They would run away from her when she tried to approach someone, saying she was trying to eat their soul. Her and her family were even blamed for the darkness that was encroaching the surrounding land.
No matter how hard Veronica tried, no one around wanted to be friends with the scary ghost. Not helping matters was the fact that things would accidentally catch fire when she cried from being bullied by others. At some point, she just gave up trying to make friends with anyone. Instead, she turned to books for escapism.
Veronica became very interested hearing the news about Scorch forming an exploration guild. She have an adventure of her own, like the ones she’s read in books. Plus, if she could get on this team, and actually succeed at doing something good, maybe just maybe people would stop giving her a hard time about her Ghost Pokémon heritage.
Move Set: Hex Ember Confuse Ray Smog
Equipment: A book about Myths and Legends in the Pokémon world A bag to carry the book in, as well as whatever else she might find
I chose Chimchar cause I really liked Monkey Pokemon for some reason? I dunno it just came out of nowhere and I stuck with it up to now. Maybe a lot of it is having it in my imagination that they just casually lie down on branches when they're resting or swinging from tree to tree.
Since we're doind this apparently, Houndour has been a favorite of mine for quite some time. Pokemon Stadium 2's moveset distribution is solely to blame. As is my liking for Ariados. And partially some of my other preferences.
