______________________________________________Stance on Benders. Through her studies, she understands who they were, what they did and why they are no more. While the life of a bender was once something she marveled, she grew to learn that their very presence induced change in everything and everyone. Although that change would often times be for the better, if the record for the last handful of Avatars was any indication, their causality was simply the breeding of more conflict.

Vyska firmly believes that Benders were a lesson to be learned and that the world can learn no more from them. Their greatest achievement was connecting the physical world with that of the spiritual and allowing them access to a near limitless supply of energy. Beyond that, Spirits and Benders have no place in the new world.

History. Born into a family of both wealth and power, Vyska resides comfortably inside the walls of the upper ring. However, while the life of luxury was always within arms reach, her father made sure to impress upon her the importance of hard work, study, manners and the weight that was her family name and that of the name she was given: Vyska, after the mother who's life ended when her's began. And Moon with roots in tinkerers and inventors and leaders.

At a young age, she was given to the throws of education. Private schooling. Lessons in dance and song and the playing of a number of musical instruments. She studied some limited forms of self defense and learned early on her way around a handgun. By the age of 14, her father had begun introducing her to the family business and by 18, had become quite the expert in all things SynEn. She was after all in line to inherit the 'throne' once her father retired.

SynEn. Owned and operated by the Moon family. This energy corporation gained momentum after the passing of Varrick with a strategic restructuring of Varrick Global Industries. SynEn, formerly a power company supplying electricity by way of lightning bending, needed to make a drastic change in operations when Bending was made illegal and punishable by death. After expunging their employees they shifted their remaining resources into helping develop the late Varrick's designs on harnessing spirit energy as a new form of power. In time, SynEn would continue to grow, absorbing the energy research and development department and become the sole provider of power across all of the Republic. Varrick Global would refocus their efforts on military and civilian design and depart from the energy business.

SP-311. Handgun designed by Varrick's Global. Production is too expensive to be standard issue but it is sold as a personal firearm. Father of Vyska. CEO of SynEn. Mynwa is detail oriented, driven to no end, intelligent and very efficient in everything he does. Despite a heavy focus on his work, he's found a precarious balance between his career and that of him being a father. He loves his child and has done what he can to raise her as best as he could. He expects her to take over the company once he retires. Being the sole provider of energy in the Republic, he has strong pull in government and is often seen in such circles.

Said to be a former hitman for a powerful gang, Jack is Vyska's personal bodyguard and is seen in her shadow at all times of the day. He takes to his work seriously and does his job well. He has, on a number of occasions thwarted wayward attempts of harm on her person and in this way, has garnered trust from the Moon family. He will at times, and given he is in a good mood, offer advice or even engage in some casual banter.

No person deserves to be persecuted because of who they were born as. While Sakani has never met a bender (that she knows of) she would hesitate to turn one in if she found them in the tea-shop, even if it happened to put herself and her livelihood at risk. Gran-Gran regaled her of old legends about their capacity for kindness and respect for nature – when nature was still a thing to exist. She also told tales of what catastrophic damage a bender could do when angry or even mildly peeved. Sakani makes sure to consider the good and the bad; above all else, a bender is still a person, and all people will do wrong by you if given the opportunity.

Sakani was born in the Lower Ring to parents who owed debts to the Triads. To tell the truth, all she has of them are second-hand memories and inconsistent stories from people who kinda-sorta knew them. Sakani prefers to stick to the facts: they fled the city in the end when she was an infant or a toddler and entrusted her care to a family friend, an ancient woman known on the streets as 'Gran Gran'.

For better or worse, Gran Gran treated her as she would her own grandchild if she had any, naming her as her heir and apprentice. While Sakani's nature leaned towards charity and solidarity with the underclass she was born into – especially the street kids whom she thinks of as little brothers and sisters – Gran Gran encouraged a vicious streak and stamped out some of that naivete. The goal is always to keep her own head above water first.

Sakani worked in her tea-house, The Lotus Room, and can brew a mean cup of tea and play Pai Sho like the best of the old crowd. When she was old enough to scramble through the streets and the paths less trodden, she earned her keep in the practical side of moving "tea" around the city, and more recently expanding their "business" into the Middle Ring. Sakani could take or leave the violence of it. Her dream was (or is) a more on-the-book job labouring on the airship transports, though they would never take her for health reasons, according to Gran Gran.

Recently, RSF raided the tea-house while Sakani was away and found no evidence of latent criminal activity, but according to witnesses, they took in Gran Gran anyway on suspicion of there being people of high spiritual energy sensitivity in her shop – benders. Sakani is sure that this is a great injustice and is trying to encourage (using her good reputation) a bit of enemy action against RSF in the Lower Ring – to very little success.

Former Kingpin of the Lily Street Triad. Beloved grandmother to Sakani, even if not by blood. It is not difficult to reconcile Gran-Gran's loving personality with her checkered past and present, because she ruled her home with an iron-fist much like she once ruled the streets. Current owner of The Lotus Room, a tea-house affiliated with her former gang and a speck of civility and prestige in the middle of the Lower Ring.
