Wow, that is impressive!

I wrote 1971 words today, so I'm at a total of 3998.

How is it going for everyone? Still enjoying this on the second day?

Up to 18k now, but I'm fast running out of notes.

I might break from this to catch up and create a few more mind maps and maybe deep dive some of the characters some more. I have finally picked a possible title too, "Road of Echoes". I'll see if it sticks.

I'm so thrilled at this, just... Sickeningly happy with myself.

I hope everyone else is feeling as accomplished - and if not yet, you will soon enough. There will come a moment you pass a point and you just feel it.

(inb4 I stop now completely and just don't finish at all. :)))))) )

@Maglar We're still early in the month, you can catch up.
If you'll aim at 2000 words per day instead of 1667 you'll catch up in no-time. Do one sprint like Stormflyx and you're ahead of schedule.

You're already three words on your way to the end goal. If you think it will help you can always talk about your story; the only thing you have to do on your own is writing those words, but we can help when it comes to plotting and brainstorming.

I'm not seeing failure here - you still put words on paper. It's a marathon, a really long and tiring marathon - not a sprint.

You've got this. You have.

You're doing great, Stormflyx!

I'm at 12498 words and I'm able to keep up my 2k words average per day. Getting ready to write the next chapter of my story and I hope to end around 14500 today. I could have written more yesterday, but I decided to do some RPs instead.

The second week of NaNoWriMo is known as Hell Week; it's when enthusiasm dwindles, motivation falters, and writing fatigue settles in.

It's wednesday so this week is already a few days old, but how is it for you?

Are you still going strong, or has your productivity gone down? Are you still enjoying writing this novel or are you beginning to wish you had never started?

Remember, NaNoWriMo is about writing that novel you always wanted to write and getting a daily writing routine. If you manage to get your 50k words that is a great achievement, but there is no shame in not getting there.

If you feel burned out, take a break. That's okay. If you worry about being behind, there is still time to catch up. And even if you don't, you worked on a novel that didn't exist before now. You're doing great!

Remember it's okay to start late and it's okay to switch projects. Just write and enjoy this process of creating something new.

Yes! You're almost there! Keep it up @Stormflyx

I'm at 28k myself, so I'm over the halfway point. I usually write between 1800 and 2200 words, but yesterday I did 3500. My personal best this month ^_^

I've made it to 57k.

While I think there's more to write - I feel like going through what I have -- ah, is this a mistake? do I just keep going forwards?

I'll go over 50k with my story as well and I plan to keep going until the story reaches a good point to wrap things up, or when I run out of ideas to go further with it.

Last time I ended with 63k words for my story, so you don't have to stop at 50k if you have more to tell. But the good thing is that you reached the goal and you are a winner, so if you want to take a day to read it from the beginning and then continue you have the time to do that. I re-read small parts of my novel during November too, usually from the beginning of the chapter I'm working on to get back into the story.

NaNoWriMo is about writing a novel, and to me it feels best if I can finish that novel during November. There is plenty of time to read what you wrote afterwards. And there is also a NaNoWriMo month dedicated to editing the novel: Now What?

Now What?
So you wrote a novel… now what? This January and February, we’re providing resources, events, and tips to help you on your revision and publishing journeys.

I just reached the 50k \o/

I had planned on a few timeskips in my story, one going from our time to a 150 years from now. And then a big timeskip to 2000 or 3000 years in the future.

It took me all the 50k to write about the adventures of my ageless people in the current setting and the near-future dystopia XD

So now I summarized what happened between the near-future dystopia and the iceage and with the end of that summary I reached 50018 words. Now I'll use the rest of NaNoWriMo to explore the hunter-gatherers and the ageless ones living among these tribes. Looking forward to this part.

But wow, that dystopia-part took me longer to tell than I had anticipated.

I’m up to 64k now, hoping to slide into 70k by the end of the month.

And congrats @Calle that is a tremendous effort indeed! How many have you won now?

Two.

I did my first in 2018 and won that one, didn't join last year because I didn't have a story idea. So this year is my second time.

Today is the last day of NaNoWrimo and it was a good one for me. I had my highest daily word count with 5826 words and I ended with 65,235 words.

My last NaNoWriMo project ended with 62,871 words, so I beat my previous record with 2364 words.

Today records were broken, my story is finished, and I couldn't be happier with the way I wrapped up NaNoWriMo :D
