"I’m a bit of a late-bloomer."
While not considered attractive by modern standards, she is a sort of Renaissance beauty. She has a defined upturned nose, deep-set eyes, and delicate lips and mouth. Her ears are small but slightly pointed, sometimes cutely protruding like a nymph. She has a prominent forehead and less apparent brows. She usually smiles with a closed mouth and appears rather dorky when she smiles open-mouthed due to a gap between her front teeth.
Some of her better features are her hair and eyes. Her eyes are hazel, but often appear to change color depending on her environment, varying from green to blue to yellow to brown. Her hair is strawberry blond, thin but wavy, that glows golden in the light. Her face and body are speckled with dark freckles that contrast her delicate, pale skin.
The girl has a mature chest and slightly broad shoulders for a female, and a small rump. Her muscles are just slightly developed from cardio activities, leading to toned, but not overly muscular arms and belly, with a just line down to her belly button visible. Her hands and feet are bony and her skin somewhat translucent and prone to bruising and discoloration.
▼
Civillian Attire: Alternates between two styles: nature girl or superhero dork. When she wants to feel pretty, she dresses like a Bohemian, hippie, or flower child. She prefers to go natural, without make-up, and her hair unstyled. She enjoys light, airy clothing that can flow in the wind and appreciates textures such as lace and knit. Clothing is usually covered in beautiful patterns and many colors or pure white. She usually accents her hair with flowers, chains, or headbands. Stone and bead jewelry is often found around her neck, wrists, and ankles. Alternatively, she enjoys wearing t-shirts with jeans, khakis, or plain skirts, decorated with charms that reflect her love for all things superhero.
▼
Hero Attire:Her hero costume consists of secondhand brown boots, a leather utility belt with many pouches, a tattered green cape, and a green or brown thrift store finds that she won’t wear while in her civilian identity. Her costume may change slightly as it gets damaged and pieces need to be replaced.

"I just need a little light and love and room to grow."
To strangers, Myrtle may seem cold or distant. She rarely smiles and usually appears somewhat sad or lonely. She avoids eye contact, and when actually looking toward someone it often appears that she is looking through or past them with a vacant or dreamy expression. She usually keeps to herself and speaks slowly, softly, cautiously when spoken to, or responds with sounds. She is introverted and avoids socialization and especially confrontation. In most cases, she would rather just agree or do what is asked of her, keeping her head down. She shies away from physical contact and signs of affection. But when she is actually able to bring herself to communicate, she is friendly and kind no matter how others treat her or how she feels inside.
And deep inside is bottled up emotion. Myrtle can be very moody and is easily frustrated. She is prone to feelings of envy and jealousy, especially toward those of the same sex. While not spiteful, she has a tendency to withdraw or brood rather than talk about her feelings or address issues.
Due to her childhood bullying, Myrtle developed social anxiety and stage fright. When near people she doesn't know well, she often freezes, stutters, or stammers when trying to speak. She also becomes more clumsy, causing her to trip, fall, or drop things she’s holding. She tends to ramble when trying to explain or justify her actions.
While Myrtle deeply cares about people as a species, she has difficulty forming bonds with most individuals. She has trouble remembering the names and faces of ordinary people and doesn't care that much about gossip. While she easily cries while watching sad movies, a real-life death or separation may not affect her at all if she had not made a connection to that person. And making connections is difficult because she is usually suspicious and distrustful of others at first, often questioning their actions and worrying about being talked about behind her back. Ultimately, she would prefer to be alone than to have her heart or trust broken again. It is more likely that somebody will try to befriend her than she to befriend others.
Those who get closer can see more sides of her. The more she gets to know or is exposed to someone, the more likely she will learn their name and open up to them. She will share her darkest secrets and deepest dreams. When speaking about something she is passionate about--such as parahumans, the well-being of plants and animals, and protecting the earth and its inhabitants--her eyes twinkle and she speaks louder and higher pitched than normal, sounding almost childish at times. She may even smile her little closed-mouth smile, or try to make a terrible joke. The happier she is, the pinker her cheeks and face become.
When she does manage to make a real connection, she can be loyal to a fault. She will offer a shoulder to cry on, a couch to sleep on, and lend all the money she thinks she can afford. While she can make female friends, she has an easier time making friends with males. Her ultimate weakness is cute, nice guys. Not just cute. Not just nice. But the perfect combination of the two. When Myrtle is attracted, all reason goes out the window. She gets giddy, gullible, excited, impulsive. She becomes naive and trusting to a dangerous degree, enough to get herself killed.
Habits and Mannerisms: When she opens up to someone, she wears her heart on her sleeves. A terrible liar, signs of which are avoiding eye contact, blushing, and smiling awkwardly. When idle, she tends to look around, play with her hair, and touch her face or chest. Sometimes wiggles her nose like a rabbit when thinking. Has a tendency to sit Indian style, even on chairs. Her mannerisms coupled with her personality can make her appear younger.

"I may come from something ugly, but I will blossom into something beautiful."
Myrtle grew up in a rural town of New Hampshire. Her parents divorced early on and she and her sister were shuffled between them. Her father was a stern, heartbroken man who pushed her to exceed academically and had trouble showing love. Her mother was a drunk who stayed with an abusive alcoholic boyfriend. She feared for her life when she was with her mother, and suffered from loneliness and insecurity when she was with her father. Her sister never seemed to be around, and when she was, she saw Myrtle as an embarrassment.
School was no better. She was often targeted by bullies due to her meekness and less than desirable looks and poverty. While teachers regarded her as the perfect student, they never stood up for her. Bullies called her ugly, weak, stupid, brown-noser, and often shoved or ordered her around. If people weren’t bullying her, she was left to her lonesome. If groups were required, she was always picked last or forced to do all the work. Myrtle would just keep her head down and do as she was told, not wanting to start anything.
Myrtle would bury herself in her studies, fantasies, and nature to escape her problems. During colder months, she would get lost in the internet, following and researching parahuman and fantasizing about being one. She decorated her room with posters and toys of both real and fictional heroes. Sometimes she even wished bad things would happen to her just so she could trigger, even an Endringer attack, not really knowing how bad it could be. Being in such a small town with no cape presence made parahumans like a dream.
During warmer months she would retreat to nature with her sketchbook, camera, music, or a good book. She enjoyed exploring, gardening, climbing trees, and hiking. She loved to just lay down in grass or leaves and stare up at the sky, or watch all the little animals scurry about.
▼
Trigger Event: It was during one fateful and recent hiking trip to the Appalachian Mountains that Myrtle triggered. While hiking alone miles from civilization she was found by a pack of coyotes. Surrounded and with nowhere to go, Myrtle dropped to her knees in helplessness and despair, knowing nobody--even her family--would know or care that she would be eaten alive.
She could hear snarling, howling, and the shuffle of leaves as they came in closer. All she did was close her eyes and start to cry, awaiting her end. But as the coyotes lunged, Myrtle screamed and lashed out, not ready to die. For a fleeting moment, she thought she saw something in a vision. When she came to, raspberry bushes and vines had shot from the ground, encircling her, stabbing and stopping the dogs in their tracks. The coyotes yelped, whimpered, trying to free themselves from the bushes. When she dared to open her eyes, she saw the dogs were long gone and she was surrounded by a circle of plants dripping with blood.
The next day, Myrtle announced to her father that she finally had enough money to move out and would be moving to be closer to her job in Manchester and possibly attending college there. In reality, she didn’t want to endanger her family with her new powers and wanted to use them for good. After some quick work she had a cheap apartment, a little training, and a new code name: Wallflower.

"A rose may be delicate, but it still has thorns."
▼
Chlorokinesis: Myrtle can telepathically control the growth and movement of plants. This allows her to grow plants and seeds around her to great sizes, and to use vines and branches like prehensile arms, legs, or tails. She can also induce flowering, fruiting, seeding, and pollination. These skills can be used to feed herself and others, increase her supply of plant seeds, and to provide cover with clouds of pollen, petals, leaves, or airborne seeds.
▼
Chloropathy: This ability allows Myrtle to feel light, moisture, heat, cold, pain, and vibration through plants. This ability helps her detect non-living things such as machines and other unnatural occurrences. She also uses this power to locate plants and seeds for chlorokinisis.
▼
Plant-like Biology: Myrtle is able to absorb light, water, and nutrients through her skin with a slow healing effect and slightly reduced aging.
▼
Life Aura: Can sense the presence, approximate density, and type of nearby lifeforms (plant, animal, human, parahuman). While she cannot pinpoint the exact location, it gives her a general sense of direction and intention.
▼
Ecological Empathy: As an extension of her aura sense, Myrtle is able to feel distress in plants (such as that caused by wildfire or the chopping of tree) and can sense fear and agitation in animals and humans. Her empathy manifests as 'gut feelings', such as heart or stomach pain, or in the case of positive emotions, a warmth or glow in her chest.
▼
How the Shard functions: The shard creates a personal time bubble around an existing plant or seed. It then feeds the plant essential nutrients and energy from its near-infinite source. Time is accelerated to allow growth. These time bubbles and the plants can be manipulated through electrochemical pulses, like neurons and synapses in the human brain.
▼
Limits:Myrtle cannot conjure plants out of nothing, nor can she control or revive dead plants or materials such as paper or wood. This means Myrtle is at a disadvantage while in buildings and cities where there is little plant matter and soil. Created matter cannot be reabsorbed. Plants that cannot sustain themselves naturally will die. She also cannot alter the DNA of her plants, so the usefulness of her plants is limited by their species.
Her maximum range is roughly 100 yards (one football field). Her strongest vine could only support about 80 lbs including its own weight, but she can control approximately 1 ton (large truck) of plant matter at a time. Excessive use of her power leases to physical and mental fatigue.
▼
Weaknesses:Her power is partially derived from ambient solar energy, so she is weaker at night, during overcast or cloudy weather, and especially during autumn and winter when days are shorter. She is also more sensitive to heat and cold than most people. Her abilities are easily countered with fire, lightning, and ice. These elements can outright destroy any plant matter she creates. Fire and other energy bursts can also obscure her aura sense, causing it to turn shades of red, orange, and yellow.
