Natsuo Aburame"Everyone talks big till there’s a bug in their mouth. Then they can’t talk at all, cause of the bug in their mouth!"
_______________________________________________

“There are no laws against pocket money in Konoha.” Natsuo replied brightly. “And I can't say I have a preference for one or another. What is the game of choice in Kumo?”

Natsuo was not perturbed by his teammates reticence to join in. This situation could very well turn explosive, after all, and one might like to get a jump on that from a distance if they could. Being in the center was dangerous, but rich - if he played his cards right, so to speak, these strange nin would give them everything he wanted to know.

All it would cost him was a couple of ryo.

Uchiha Mika/Training Ground 17
_______________________________________________

....Flashback to Mikazuchi Uchiha Household....

"Worthless." The voice of the head of the household spoke with pure anger, "You are dishonoring your grandfather." Mika only stared at the man that he was forced to call father. Mikazuchi loomed over his child, physically as imposing as a mountain over a town, a daunting feeling that made Mika's heart drop. Hatred for this man filled every bone in his body, every moment of abuse ran through his mind, and his eyes slowly began to form into the sharingan. Suddenly he felt a tug at his pants, Mika stopped to look at the young boy calling his name. In his baby brother's eyes he could see himself and what he used to be.

.......Flashback ends......

From the bushes near training ground 17, Mika sat in hiding, watching the girls as they fought. Studying their movements, it was his goal to face them and show the sensai of Team 17 just who he was. His sharingan flickered from left to right, watching every punch, kick, and dodge. They were good for kids and even he knew it would be difficult to show off but, it would not be impossible. Team 17 would be his temporary team to teach him how to be a ninja; a fate he wished he could spend with people he would permanently call teammates. Suddenly the girls were spaced apart from each other, a break in the fighting finally. Without a second thought, Mika dashed up the closest tree to the highest branch over looking the training ground. He gripped two kunai with explosive tags attached to them and threw them in-between the girls; the explosion small enough to avoid hurting them but big enough to grab their attention.

"I HAVE COME TO SHOW YOU THE TRUTH OF THE UCHIHA!"

Mika reached for the Fuma Shuriken strapped to his back, brandishing it in hand like a melee weapon, using the bar in the middle as a handle. The sun gleamed upon the blade of the shuriken, shining brightly like a star itself. He dove straight toward the battlefield, throwing three kunai, each aimed at a different kunochi. Using the momentum gained from falling, Mika would attempt to land a strong kick to Lumika's shoulder, then push himself backwards into a flip to gain some distance. The jounin probably already saw him coming, but now he was here to test his future teammates.

Yue Nara"Stop... being alive. It's embarrassing."
_______________________________________________
Nearby, Remi was giving a lame speech about... arms or something... and nobody seemed very interested. His teammate bailed immediately, which is what Yue felt like doing too. Unfortunately, Natsuo beat her to the punch and left to talk to the Kumo-nin before she had a chance to make a quiet exit. Great. She was stuck with Tomoyuki. See, on a team, there were usually three kids. Three kids meant that Yue could stand in the back and not draw attention to herself and no one would ask her to say anything. It also meant that if she slipped away for a second, no one would notice right away. Why would they?

But now that Natsuo was gone, Yue was stuck. It just felt awkward standing there not saying anything and the longer it went on, the more the pressure just built and built. 'Jeeze, Tomo, why don't you say anything', she thought vulnerably in his direction while retreating into her hat, scarf, and pockets, only her eyes and, more importantly, her tense furrowed eyebrows visible now. E-even if he did want to say something, Yue didn't want to talk to him anyway... Her fingers fumbled with her final dumpling in her pocket and suddenly she remembered just how hungry she was. She glanced around as discretely as possible, her eyes finding what looked like a good tree to hide behind. Of course the problem remained... how to walk away discreetly when there were only two of them...

Sh-she had to say something. Like she couldn't just walk away. That'd be... she didn't know... like rude.

Ugh... Why was he making this so difficult? She turned her face towards him slightly, not enough to be facing him, she didn't want him to think she wanted to really talk to him or anything, but enough that he... like... would know she was going to say something. Nothing? No? Eh... Okay. Then... Uh...

She nodded.

And walked towards the trees. She passed Bakuto as she went, but paid him no mind. If he didn't want to talk to people either, she wasn't about to bother him. She could respect someone else's solitude... even though people rarely respected hers. When she was quite sure she was out of sight, she reached into her pocket and very discreetly popped the dumpling into her mouth, using her tongue instead of her jaws to chew, since if someone was watching, for whatever reason, they'd be less likely to notice she was eating. The last thing she wanted was for someone to use her dumpling as an opportunity to try to strike up a conversation. What could she even say about a dumpling? It was a dumpling... Her dad gave it to her because her mom kept feeding her weird health slop. Yeah, like anyone would want to hear about that. Totally stupid story.

Ichika Uchiha“Peace earned through communication is just and true, but without the strong to protect those who would shepherd in such an age... Everything will be lost. Power is absolute.”
_______________________________________________
Don’t worry though. After this we’ll probably never see him again. And if we do? Well accidents happen.

Ichika couldn't help but snigger and break from her furious tirade at Mizuraki's remark, the notion was comically ironic. More so than her friend could ever realise, not just due to the nature of many of the Uchiha's own past missions; but likely those of Hideo as well. Though she could not speak for the mysterious one's past, she could certainly make educated assumptions based on her own career, given the words that the two had exchanged moments before.

"That they do my friend, that they do. I apologise for my outburst, it was unbecoming of me. It shan't happen again. Let us focus on organising this assault, we have numerous ideas in place; but no concrete plan as of yet. We must reach a consensus as soon as possible, lest we be discovered and cease to retain the element of surprise. Let us reconvene with the others." She said, ruffling her black hair and then straightening it out slightly with the gaps between her fingers as she spoke, a clear effort to calm herself and regain composure before setting off towards the highest concentration of Shinobi. It didn't take a genius to see that she was about to do something rash, and that much was clear to Mizuraki.

"Everyone gather around. I note a lot of talk and ideas being thrown around, and whilst these ideas are excellent; we have yet to formulate an actual plan. I am disappointed. I had hoped we would resolve this sooner, and because we have not done so collectively, I shall do it for you." She ordered, her anger and frustrations both audible and visible despite her best efforts to sully those feelings, as the various Shinobi present began to converge on her location.

"Starting off with the diversion, I believe that Mizuraki's proposal was the best. The usage of Katsuyu as a form of vessel to transport a strike team to garner the attention of our foes is an excellent idea. It will be less chakra intensive on her than creating a dragon would be for me, and will provide a greater surface area for the team to stand atop. Botan-dono, you and Mizuraki-san shall lead your team from Kumo, and the Genin from Team 7, minus Bakuto, but accompanied by Tomoyuki from my own team. Mizuraki made an interesting point in thag the youngling of my clan would wreak havoc in the caves. Meanwhile Team 5, with the addition of Bakuto and I shall accompany Hideo into the caves, along with a-" Ichik had begun, uncompromising and unrelenting in her explanation before being interrupted by a stray voice.

"You will not be in the caves. We need our strongest members taking the beach. You, Mizuraki, and Botan will be leading the ocean assault. Reaching the beach is only step one and you will have to be fresh enough to not die immediately." Hideo chimed in nonchalantly.

"Your objection is noted, and you make an excellent point, although I could probably storm the beach alone. She replied to the Anbu agent, her voice full of confidence as she spoke, before winking at him. "Therefore, Yue, Natsuo and Bakuto will accompany Hideo, alongside a retinue of shadow and wood clones conjured by Mizuraki and I, if anybody else present is capable of such jutsu, you should also contribute." Ichika finished, looking over everyone present. At some point throughout her briefing, although she did not know when. Ichika's temper had flared so much that she had inadvertently activated her Sharingan. Upon realising this, she closed her eyes and allowed the fabled Dōjutsu of the Uchiha to revert to normality before reopening them again.

Ami UzumakiThe Two-Tailed Jinchuuriki
_______________________________________________
Ami slowly came out of the table when the danger wasn't present anymore. Takayuki-sensei was happy with her dodging efforts as the small girl nodded her head, giving a shy smile. Ami nodded at the mention of her and Rashiku somewhat knowing each other from passing, but Akira was a different person she had not had the chance to meet. He seemed to be nice. "It's n-nice to me-meet y-you, Senju-san," Ami said in a quiet tone. She gave him a smile before she sat down. She fidgeted a bit when Takayuki-sensei said they had to introduce each other. Ami had a pleasant life, but nothing traumatic happened in it. "At least, not yet." Matatabi said within hermind, causing Ami to nearly jump. She was still not used to Matatabi popping in at times to comment her thoughts. Takayuki introduced himself first as he spoke of his fondest memory of meeting someone, thought she wondered what a fling was. She then winced when he mentioned his teammates getting killed in such a gruesome way. Ami glanced over at Rashiku and Akira. She didn't want anyone to die when they were out on missions. Gripping her coat, Ami was determined to make sure no one would die on her watch.

Akira was up next, and she was quite surprised to find out he was two years younger than Rashiku and herself. With his height, she thought he was a year or two older than her. He and Takayuki both hate slugs, Ami making a mental note to keep them away, as he spoke of his happiest memory, and like her, he did not have any traumatic memories either. Rashiku then spoke about drawing and disliking vinager. Another mental note was that Rashiku would not like sushi. When Rashiku spoke of his father, Ami's heart broke. The small girl looked over at Rashiku, and slowly, she reached over and gently grasped Rashiku's hand, gently squeezing it to show that she was there for him, not saying it out loud.

Ami took a deep breath "A-Ano... I'm U-Uzumaki Ami. I-I recently t-turned twelve. I-I was raised h-here in Konohagakure... Um... I-I really like sweets and cooking... I r-really don't like bitter f-foods or medicines too well..." Ami said before she thought for a moment of her happiest memory. "I think the happiest memory I have... W-Was when I met Kimi. She's m-my very best f-friend and we've been t-together for the lo-longest time. Um... I don't have a-any bad memories... s-sorry..." Ami murmured.

Shiori Spiga"Once you’re devoured, it doesn’t matter who you were before."
_______________________________________________
What a brainless test! Fighting over a rock to prove who was the ‘strongest,’ like crows dueling over a shiny pebble. What exactly was their sensei trying to prove with buckets and rocks? If a person was a hinderance among the Spiga, they killed them. It didn’t make any sense to allow ones teammates to be hinderances. Supressing a growl, she spat a sticky web into each of her barrels, forming a translucent lid over the top. If Kuree wanted her to carry her buckets the whole time, well, she’d treat her to a pair of bludgeons.

"Well that was fun guys. I'll see you two around. Burai-san we can still train later. I'm going to wait for an instructor that will teach me to be a shinobi instead of a bull that charges through walls. Jaa-ne." Kenshiro said, suddenly walking away.

Kenshiro had been putting on its formal robes, which Shiori had taken as a show of confidence. But as it happened, it had never planned to fight at all! It was just going to abandon them! Losing was one thing, but to be disregarded like that… If anyone was going to delegitimize sensei’s stupid test, it was going to be Shiori. Kenshiro leaving made the rest of them look like idiots. And they already looked like idiots!

Shiori wouldn’t have it. Whatever their jounin was trying to inspire, she didn’t care. She hadn’t shown off her body to the whole village and shouldered buckets across half of it just to be shown up now. Kenshiro needed to learn who the real leader of their team was, and Shiori was ready to demonstrate. She pulled a thick glob of webbing from her mouth and hurled it at Kenshiro, forming a silvery rope in the air between the two as it struck him in the back.

“Oh no you don’t.” She said matter-of-factly, and yanked the web back towards her, pulling the surprised Hyuuga onto his butt. “You’re my teammate, whether you like it or not. I don’t want to be here any more than you do, but we’re in this together.” She continued, pulling the rope and her captive teammate back towards her. She didn’t bother to acknowledge Burai, who in her mind had been hovering around uselessly like an irritating gnat - watching, commenting, and doing nothing at all useful. She’d already learned how to tune out people of little significance, and Kenshiro was the one making all the major moves.

But it wasn’t moving much now. Once the webbed genin was near enough, Shiori looked back to Kuree, her expression chipper and ready to learn.

“Now, tell us the rest of this stupid test, sensei.” She said sweetly, her smile just as bright as when she said she’d wanted to help the village to become it’s best.

Eri Takeda“No matter what, someone is depending on you.”
_______________________________________________

"I HAVE COME TO SHOW YOU THE TRUTH OF THE UCHIHA!"

Oh no. What did that little brat think he was pulling? Eri leapt up and intercepted the wayward genin’s projectiles, grabbing them with a sweep of her arm and shoving the kid aside. He landed in the grass a ways away from them. He might have the wind knocked out of him, but he would likely be unharmed. Eri landed near him.

“I didn’t say to stop fighting!” She called back to her charges.

Up to this point, the test had been going pretty well. She doubted either of the Uchiha would underestimate their teammate after being suplexed and hurled across the training ground, and Rina had delivered some pretty impressive ninjutsu. Kimi, by contrast, had been quick, close-up, and conservative with her ninjutsu. Was she holding back out of fear, or planning something? Eri hadn’t seen it yet.

But she had another problem to deal with. She’d noticed the boy darting around the bushes, peering at her girls during the test. She thought it was a secret admirer from class or something, and would have been fine sending him away with a stern warning - but when he ran up that tree she knew something was up. Maybe he was part of some kind of class prank. He looked about their age. Maybe a little scrawny. If he was one of her girls' secret admirers, she felt bad for him.

“Alright kid, what’s this about? I hope you’re not trying to impress somebody.” She said, looming over the boy.

Koji Takuma
"Do you really want to die?"
_______________________________________________
These three really were surprising. They all accepted his challenge without a hint of protest. Koji had expected the need to shut down some defiant speech questioning his own qualifications, or something similar. The only defiance they showed was in the face of the challenge, Naruko in particular boasting about how he would be the one needing to give his all. It was certainly possible... one day. "I'm not interested in boasts, but it's good you're not wasting time on pointless matters. Let's get started..."
Koji's hand extended out to point into the forest, off in the distance to somewhere that could not be seen through the thick foliage. "Two hundred meters to the southeast I put down a scroll. You are to retrieve it and bring it back to this spot. I will be stopping you from doing so. That's all there is to it. You'll have thirty seconds in this location to prepare, and then we'll begin for real. Starting now!"

Right after Koji made the announcement, he dashed through the trees at blinding speed, and within a few seconds was already at around the location he'd stated. A patch of ground nearby was clear of trees, and seemed visible enough as any. Koji's hands moved into a pouch on his belt and pulled out a blank scroll and a kunai, casually tossing the scroll onto the ground. It would do for the test. The kunai flipped in his hand, the blade facing upwards between his knuckles like it was a claw. It was coming near time for the genin to move, only a few seconds longer... Koji's back arched as he leaned back, his arm extended behind him. With an inhale, he waited the last couple of seconds... go. The man exhaled, and suddenly snapped forward in a throw, and in an instant his kunai was gone. Grass and leaves around him blew backwards violently as a shockwave passed through them, and a thunderous sound rang into the air as if he'd shot a cannon! Less than a second later, where the genin were was blasted through by a small object ripping through the branches and leaves, and crashed into the tree that was behind them. The breaking soundwave followed after, at the same time as the tree began to collapse with nothing but a large gap being left in the middle. The test had begun.

Hideo Sarutobi"Compromise is a lie told to abdicate duty."
_______________________________________________
Hideo nodded and looked to Botan, "If this is acceptable to Nakano-san...", and Botan nodded back before Hideo continued, "then we will gather our forces and go. It would be better to wait until night, but there is not time... there are more forces coming to collect our target. If we don't secure the target before they arrive, there is no chance of success. We will all die. Try not to, if you can."

He looked to Botan again and said, "I will need coordinates."

"Oh... yes...", Botan stammered, handing Hideo a small scrap of paper. Hideo took it, opened it with a glance, and then ate it. Botan looked a bit worried, "It... was encoded..."

"Poorly", Hideo responded with a happy nod. He smiled and let out a sigh, his hand slipping to the weapon on his back but regardless, he straightened up and cheerfully walked towards the genin, pointing to Natsuo and Bakuto with a "you and you and..." and turned to the Kumo genin. Botan, who had been watching him with a kind of hang-dog expression gave Ari a look, which Hideo seemed to pick up on. He pointed to her "and you... AND NARA-CHAN", Yue emerged glaring angrily from behind a tree with red cheeks and a murderous expression, "You are coming with me!"

And without another word, he was away.

Along the way, he left various crudely drawn faces of Oni pinned to passing trees, each with various expressions, some angry, some sad, some laughing... but all cartoonishly expressive, despite looking as if they were painted haphazardly. Hideo moved swiftly through the trees, much faster than he'd ran earlier, outpacing the genin significantly. He reached the area he supposed the cave to be hidden and immediately set about testing the earth and soil. His eyes searched around wildly, though his face remained completely relaxed. Eventually, they settled on a rockface. Amateurish... or a show of confidence... or pressure. No, confidence. The clones would be useful.

He looked around the rockface to find what he was looking for, covered in mud and transformed, a tag, a rock whose shadow mismatched. He pulled it off and a cave revealed itself. He crushed the tag underfoot, leaned against the rest of the rockface, and took a somewhat large bag of gummy stars out of his ninja pouch. It was always nice when he had a few spare moments. Gummy stars were perfect for it. Unlike candy stars, you could swallow them at a moment's notice without worrying about whether or not they may get stuck in your throat. Even in a combat situation, it was easy enough to swallow, if you needed to. He supposed he'd give them to the kids when they arrived. Kids liked candy. His face fell for a moment and he frowned, looking off at nothing, and then he collapsed into a motionless, blank, sitting position with his legs sprawled out, his arms rags at his side, and his head too heavy to keep up, as if all the life had gone out of him.

The others were sure to arrive soon.

Kimi UchihaFirebrand of the Uchiha
_______________________________________________
Kimi was surprised to see that Rina had taken the full brunt of the fire ball. However, she seemed to have covered herself with a fire to protect her. Her surprised look slowly turned to a grin full of excitement. Rina must have worked on this jutsu for a while. Rina had moved away, but she did seem a bit scratched up but she was fine. Kimi gripped the hilt of her blade as Rina had moved back and started to do a activate a ninjutsu. Kimi got ready, as she was about to rush at her, when Lumika appeared from behind her. Kimi had been so focused on fighting Rina, she had forgotten about the other konuichi. Kimi eyes went wide when she was suddenly launched away from the fight as she could see Lumika had gotten stronger with some rings around her arms.

Kimi landed on her feet and skidded to a halt as she looked up to see Rina launching her attacks at Lumika now. The Uchiha stood up as she was noticing what Lumika did. She made it where she was in the middle and would be blocking both her and Rina from being able to fight each other. Clever. "Okay, I just gotta be more quicker on my feet" Kimi thought to herself. Taking a deep breath, Kimi was about to act when a kunai had landed near her and Kimi barely avoided the explosion that happened as a male voice had suddenly screamed about showing Uchiha pride. Kimi looked over to see a boy rushing at them but Eri-sensei had intercepted him. She could only wonder "What the actual fuck?" she thought.

Eri-sensei told them to continue as Kimi nodded and went back into focus. She began to run toward them as she created three clones that also flickered around to attempt to confuse Lumika from figuring out which one was the real her. If she was able to intercept one, it would have been a clone. One of the other clones reached Rina was started to attack the other Uchiha, as Kimi and the third clone were rushing at Rina. Kimi was preparing to use her fire cracker jutsu. Her plan was to try and tire everyone out and keep them distracted long enough for her to get a few hits.

Nijira Inuzuka
"Don't you dare think that this is over! I won't just feed on the scraps of your glory! I'll beat you, and even then I'll keep pushing! I'll beat every single shinobi in the world! I won't stop until everyone acknowledges me!"
_______________________________________________
Jira scoffed and crossed his arms as Koji-sensei ran off. So it was a game of capture the flag, aye? Well, playing a game like that with an Inuzuka was just asking for trouble and if sensei was going to try to stop them, then he'd have to make sure that he wasn't around to be stopped. He could only hope that the rest of his "teammates" weren't about to get in his way! He sniffed the air twice and rushed forward. If sensei had any sense in his head, he'd probably try to form a perimeter around the scroll first. Then he'd... probably try to take them out one by one, but Jira had a secret weapon: His sense of smell and Komi's tenaciousness! They were excellent trackers. Jira just had to be the last one to be caught and he'd make it.

Sure the others could serve as a distraction, he knew particularly that Naruko could do that clone jutsu and that other lewd one that got her in trouble with the teachers, but they couldn't match Jira's speed or senses. As he was sprinting towards the spot, he jumped up in the air and felt his body changing, as it always did when he utilized his clan's four legs technique. When he landed, it was on all fours and he bounded forward at much greater speed, his claws gaining much greater purchase as he did so. He was following sensei's trail and listening for his movements. He was quiet... and that made Jira nervous.

He'd probably planned for him, probably had traps set up too. He'd have to be on alert. He wasn't stupid. A jounin was way more experienced than he was... but a trap was a trap. As soon as he was close enough, he'd stop and reassess, but gaining ground was important too. You couldn't leave sensei too much time or who knew what he was going to do? Heck, who knew what his two henchmen were going to do either? Unlike some ninja, he didn't just barrel ahead without thinking about things. H-he had a plan, even if there were a lot of unknowns in that plan. He'd figure it out as he went... Right? Yeah. He'd pass easily. He supposed that meant everyone else would too. They were lucky to have him on the team. Yeah. Right. Lucky!

He was just glad his sensei didn't look like the stupid musclebound type. Jira didn't know if he would have been able to stand it.

Komi stayed right by his side, his constant companion, the only one he could rely on.

Location: Training ground 31Gorudo Hikigae
_______________________________________________
A soon as his sensei was out of sight Gorudo's mind started to formulate his strategy, the scroll would obviously be trapped so he wouldn't want to run up and grab the scroll with his bare hands, he would need to use his unique ability to grab things from distances to his advantage, Gorudo was about to try and collect his teammate's ideas until he looked to his right and notice that Nijira had already taken off, Gorudo let out a quick sigh and turned to his friend. "Naruko. Nijira has taken off but we can still work together and ace this test!" Gorudo said to her smiling "I'm gonna use my transformation technique to grab the scroll with my tongue, after I cloud the area in mist, I'm gonna have Gamaboro turn into the scroll to try and confuse Koji-sensei" Gorudo continued after looking around the surrounding area briefly, whispering his plan into her ear.

Gorudo tried to keep this plan as quiet as possible "We have no idea what Nijira is going to do but I think we are gonna need your wire shuriken and wind chakra to cover us no matter what happens" Gorudo finished still smiling and letting out a little chuckle "sound good?" Gorudo genuinely asked. While waiting for Naruko's responce Gorudo needed to make use of the remaining seconds they had to summon Gamaboro, performing the hand signs Gorudo bites his thumb and channels his chakra into the ground to summon his faithful toad companion, "Pffffffeeert!" Gamaboro arrived wearing a party hat and blowing a party horn releasing confetti with his hands, Gorudo quickly pressed the horn against his face making the horn stop but release a pitiful squeak "heeey what's the big idea" Gamaboro tried to say with a finger and party horn restricting his mouth "I have already started my test I need you to be quiet, I don't want Sensai knowing you are here" Gorudo whispered to him removing his finger "ohhh okay I gotcha kid" Gamaboro gave him a wink and just as he was about to hop into Gorudo's bag, a crack boomed in the air and before Gorudo could react a Kunai cannonballed into the tree behind him the force of the projectile making him fall onto the ground from his crouched position.

Gamaboro made a reflexive gulp. Gorudo knew this was a sign time was up and they needed to get moving, Gorudo would Fill Gamaboro in on the plan as they ran from tree to tree in a serpentine pattern to try and avoid those projectiles. leading up to the target location Gorudo kept a mental image map of the area and where any further projectiles would come from to try and see if his Sensei has any pattern habits and locations he prefers to throw kunai from, it would be hard to track such fast projectiles but with his eidetic memory he would be able to line up the impact zones and angle of the kunai combined with the trajectory damage since his kunai seem to harm small brush that is in its path, with enough time he may be able to make some predictions if he gets enough data, but that is only if this test takes a long time to finish and if their sensei plans to implement the same strategy he seems to currently be using.

Gorudo felt confident in his ability to work with Naruko, but so far he hopes that Nijira can be more of a team player, and in the future, wait before charging into situations.

Takayuki Mekakushi

Taka remained largely silent as his Genin introduced themselves, content to observe the first sparks of a team ignite before him as he steeled himself for what would come next. Even so, he couldn't help but flinch as Rashiku's past came to light; it was all in the boy's files, of course, but he knew better than most that knowing something and hearing it first-hand were very different things. His heart went out to the boy, truly it did. For a moment, a flash of guilt ran up his spine, but it was quickly silenced. These kids had come here today expecting to be tested, and he had every intention of giving one to them.

He smiled broadly, taking care for it not to reach his eyes, and stood up, stretching his back lazily as he regarded his students.

"Wonderful! Thank you all for being so forthcoming. A good team must communicate in order to succeed..." He trailed off, fixing the Uzumaki girl with a cold stare. "Uzumaki-chan."

Taka's hands blurred through seals, a crackling aura of lightning enveloping his form, and, in a flash, he'd hauled the girl out of her seat and pressed her to himself with an iron grip, a kunai gripped in his off-hand. "Tell me, Ami, just when were you planning on sharing the beast in your stomach with the class?" A vicious snarl crept onto his face as he regarded the others, who'd jumped to attention with a start. "In case the two of you didn't know, this creature has a tailed beast sealed inside it, just waiting to get out."

He turned to Rashiku next, fixing him with a steely glare. "That was a wonderfully convincing sob-story you gave us there, Rashiku! I almost believed it!" A mirthless laugh spilled across the room, and his arm flashed slightly upwards, aiming the kunai at the vase on the table. "The Hokage tells me you're loyal; I want you to prove it." He shook the girl in his arms, (taking care not to actually hurt her), and grinned. "This thing isn't leaving here alive. I won't risk another rampage in my village, so you're going to kill her. Run her through, and I'll teach you and the other brat everything I know. Disobey my orders and I'll blow us all to kingdom come; that vase on the table is full to the brim with primed explosive notes. One false move and I'll lob this kunai straight into it."

His expression flattened into one of cold indifference. The stage was set.

"Prove your loyalty, or we all die. Your choice, Mist Boy." He let the room fester for a moment, before firing a figid glare at Akira. "If I so much as see you breathe, you'll lose your head, capische?"

Uchiha Mika/Training Ground 17

Pain. That's all Mika felt as his young body flung away the training ground by the esteemed Jounin-Sensai. His mind couldn't even follow the woman's movements and his eyes only saw air. A loud thud echoed from Mika landing on his butt, his breathing heavy; the wind had been knocked from the boy causing him to intake big breathes. "OW! What the---" Mika stopped for a moment as he finally opened his eyes. A beautiful shade of purple caught his attention, causing the young boy to go dumbstruck for a second. A shade so beautiful that he got lost as the saying would go. Beet red was the color that filled the cheeks of the awestruck child. Fortunately that would come to an end as Mika's mind came back to what was important, literally shaking his head to bring his senses back to normal.

"HEY! That hurt." Mika jumped to his feet, one hand pointing at Eri, and the other on his hip, "I was testing my new teammates."

His voice was dead serious in delivery but yet his face had such a goofy grin attached to it. For Mika, this was all a test to see what his new team could do. Now the jounin seemed to be on him about impressing people. A small part of him was looking to impress them but at the same time he just wanted to finally get his mind off things. Suddenly the thought ran through his mind that maybe they had not told the Jounin about him being a temporary member which would make this all the more difficult.

"Didn't the tell you about adding a temporary genin? I guess my dad spoiled that info." Mika crossed his arms and nodded his head to the side as he spoke.

Akira Senju“I'm gonna be the greatest Hokage ever! Just like Grandpa Hashirama!”
_______________________________________________ The tension in the air became so thick that Akira was almost able to physically feel it as he began to formulate a plan to attempt to save his teammate as his new sensei had apparently snapped at Ami, and her refusal to be entirely forthcoming. The revelation had not come entirely as a surprise to the Senju, given his base as a sensory ninja and his relative expertise in fuinjutsu. Akira knew that Ami had something sealed within her. Though even despite the seal's strength he would never have presumed it to have been a tailed beast. This did not sway the young genin's mind in the slightest, Ami and Rashiku regardless of any new information that would come to light are his team, and must be kept from harm at all costs. But he had to be careful, and most importantly the plan he formulated must be smart. There was no way that the youngest present would be able to defeat a Jōnin directly.

"That's it!" he thought to himself as he observed the situation in the greatest detail he possibly could, given the stress of the conundrum he had found himself in. Whilst it was absolutely true he would not be able to directly defeat his sensei, and in all honesty given what he knew about the boy from the Mist he doubted he could even defeat Rashiku in order to save Ami; he could however prevent Takayuki-sama from blowing up the whole building. With the genin and himself still inside. Part of Akira had deduced that this all had to be a bluff, or that his sensei would be so fast on his feet or possess some kind of space-time ninjutsu to escape the blast. Surely no Jōnin would actually sacrifice themselves to kill three genin, just because one was a Jinchuriki? Akira had heard stories of the bijuu, and their immensee power. But he had also heard tales of brave shinobi taking them on in pitched battles. His own grandfather being one such individual, whilst Takayuki-sama would absolutely have been no match for the first Hokage, Akira was confident that with his murderous presence that he would be more than capable of performing such a feat.

Beginning to infuse his chakra to both the water and earth tenketsu as subtly as he could so as to avoid detection in the event that his sensei were a sensory type such as himself, which the boy doubted; Akira continued holding his breath. Feigning fear and attempting to keep his master's gaze from him. Although much of the fear he displayed was in fact genuine. Before long, Akira felt that he was ready. As swiftly as he could, the Senju boy clasped his hands together with his index and middle fingers pointing upwards and formed the Ram seal, before transitioning on as swiftly as he could through the Ox, Boar and Snake seals. As he performed these motions, the necessary chakra he had infused merged with the earth in the foundations beneath Takayuki-sensei's home and erupted upwards, enveloping the vase which was allegedly filled with explosive tags in a thick wooden prison. Smiling confiidently as he stood in place still brandishing the Ox seal, funnelling more and more of his chakra into the prison to thicken it's walls Akira felt triumphant, and kept his eyes locked on his sensei.

"Rashiku, don't let him hurt her! We can do this as a team!" He stated nervously as his legs began to shake ever so slightly, though not that any of them would have noticed.

Burai Kasei

As he regarded the scene before him, Burai couldn't help but reflect that things had certainly taken a turn for the worst, and quickly at that. How his team had gone from friendly banter and chiding to utterly fracturing in the space of minutes quite frankly baffled him, especially given its suddenness. Of course, the inciting incident here was obvious. Suto-sensei's bluff was interesting, certainly, and the challenge she posed got him bristling and eager to test himself, but it was, at the end of the day, just that: a bluff. After all, teams in Konoha were always made up of three Genin and a Jounin; Had the woman wanted a single apprentice, surely she would've asked for one like T&I often did with his Second Branch cousins. 'Right?'

He quickly shook away any doubts he had. Worrying about such things was patently unnecessary; Right now the important thing was getting the situation back under control before it spiralled any further. Uncle Jou had warned Burai that his teacher might test them, and it seemed as though he'd been right. Burai only wished his teammates could see it. He sighed, mentally rolling his eyes. Tiresome and worrying as Shiori-san and Ken-san were being, this was just another challenge, and Burai Kasei did not back down from a challenge. A frown set itself onto his lips, and he thumbed his headband up onto his forehead, exposing his dead eyes, shrunken, black and in full view of the world. Muted as the sensation always was, Burai couldn't help but feel relieved at the light, cold breeze that fell across them. He cast a piercing glance at his Sensei, making sure to meet her eyes, then strode, firmly, towards Ken and Shiori.

What a sorry mess this was.

"That is enough." His voice was quiet but firm, and laced with the same edge that he'd laid bare to the Hyuuga girl a week prior. With a flash of hand seals, a thick, purple aura enveloped the boy, writhing like thick syrup, and with a flourish of his right arm, a Disintegrating Spear formed around his hand and scythed through the webbing leashing Kenshiro to Shiori. He regarded her coldly. "I'm a patient person, Shiori-san, but that patience only runs so deep. Kenshiro-san is his own ninja, and you would do well to remember that!" He turned, next, to Kenshiro. "Much as I understand your frustration with our Sensei's actions, I'm afraid to say she's played you like a fiddle." He scoffed. "Frankly, I had thought you more insightful, Hyuuga that you are. Tell me, have you ever seen a Genin team with fewer than three students?" He moved to address them both, turning to face Suto-Sensei. "We're a team, no matter how much some of us may dislike it. Moreover, I am proud to consider you both my friends, I do not wish to see something so trivial pull us apart so soon; Regardless, it should be obvious to individuals so canny as yourselves that this is a test." A smile, small and wry, pulled across his lips.

"A clever bluff, Sensei, testing our team's cohesion so! I must confess, it very nearly worked." A dark flush crossed his cheeks, then. If he was wrong about this, he doubted he would ever live it down. "That said, I believe I will take you up on this challenge! An opportunity to test my growth is... most desirable." He fell into a loose stance, meeting her eyes again. "Of course, I'd be honoured if my teammates would help me, as a Jounin is a formidable foe to say the least." He quickly glanced at the others, smirking, before moving his focus back to Suto-sensei, a familiar, excited tension pulsing through him as he anticipated the task ahead of them.

Location: Training ground 17 Rina Uchiha
_______________________________________________
The sound of Lumika’s scream of pain had made Rina’s smirk grow even wider. She knew her target according to her “sensei” was Kimi but she was starting to care less about Kimi and was starting to become focused on this damned upstart who insisted on getting in her way! Hopefully that would serve as enough of a warning for her to go back to their “teacher” with her tail tucked between her legs where it belonged. Now it was time to focus on her real opponent-

Wha-” the word had barely escaped her lips when Lumika’s body was suddenly wrapped around her and once again tossing her like she was nothing more than a ragdoll. Rina’s body flew across the training ground, she had managed to flip in mid-air and land on her feet. Rina skidded along the ground for a few moments before her momentum finally stopped. The Uchiha’s typically cool and cold demeanor had been shaken and replaced with pure irritation as she grit her teeth. She wasn’t going to let this buffoon make a fool out of her! To hell with this test! Lumika was her focus now. Rina lowered her head while doing her best to focus the pure rage filling her body.

Once she had lifted her head the signature eyes of the Uchiha had been activated. The Sharingan focused themselves squarely on Lumika to the detriment of everything else, she hadn’t even noticed the idiot who had jumped from the trees and made some kind of declaration. Nothing mattered, nothing mattered except beating Lumika. “You’re done for!” she screamed out before rushing forward.

Rina sped toward Lumika with reckless abandon. Only briefly stopping her momentum to deal with the clone of her opponent that had begun to strike at her. Rina quickly swung her heel toward the clone’s head and crashed into it with surprising brutality, dispersing it almost immediately. “Out of my way!” once the clone had been dealt with she jumped into the air over Kimi and landed behind her and the clone, staring up at Lumika with a furious expression on her face. The Uchiha then closed the gap between her and the Suna exchange student. Rina hauled back her arm and crashed her fist straight into the blonde’s chest, quickly followed by her building flaming chakra into the palm of her hand. Once her punch had connected she quickly raised her other hand and aimed her flaming palm right for Lumika’s chin sending her careening into the air. “Blazing…” she spoke quietly before using her body flicker technique to jump straight into the air where she was waiting for Lumika to meet her in the air before lashing out with a quick but brutal kick to send her back down towards the earth. “Assault!” she screamed out as her kick lashed out and made contact with the Blonde’s face. Rina was no longer holding back, this wasn’t a sparring session. This was a fight, a fight she intended to win handily.

Location: Training ground 31Naruko Uzumaki
_____________________________________________
This was the test? Just grabbing the scroll? They were going to ace this with ease! Between Naruko’s shadow clones and Gorudo’s admittedly kind of weird, but useful, abilities they’d be able to get their hands on that scroll in no time. And that wasn’t even factoring what Nijira could do. Naruko’s smile grew widely on her face as their sensei retreated into the woods to begin the test properly.

Alright. Let-” Naruko was about to talk up her teammates, no doubt they were feeling the weight of their sensei’s threats and needed a good confidence boost to get moving. However she saw Nijira quickly dart off into the forest after their teacher which elicited a look of short lived shock, QUICKLY followed by pure irritation “WHERE ARE YOU GOING!? DON’T JUST RUN OFF LIKE THAT!” she screamed out after their Inuzuka teammate. A part of her was worried that their sensei would hurt him...However the other half of her was incredibly irritated at the fact that he had just taken off and now was going to show her up in front of their teacher, a fact that made Naruko’s cheeks swell with petulant anger.

The knuckleheaded ninja braced herself and was ready to jump after Nijira! No way was she going to be upstaged by the likes of him, on their first day as Genin, she was going to show everyone, including him, that she was the best of her class! However Gorudo’s words stopped her in her tracks. As impulsive and hardheaded as she was, she did recognize that Gorudo usually had pretty well laid plans and it would be stupid of her to ignore him...Even if she DID have a good reason...She wasn’t going to let Nijira get the better of her, but for now she chose to focus on her friend.

The plan was a solid one from the sounds of it. “I can keep Sensei off of you while you swap out the scrolls. He won’t be able to get past my Wind Cutter.” she said with a confident smirk on her face. “We’re gonna need my clones though. I need to keep an eye on Nijira.” she said that last sentence with a bit of a sour tone in her voice. When Gamaboro was summoned Naruko couldn’t help but smile widely, she loved Gorudo’s little toad companion, he was adorable. Also pretty funny, mostly adorable.

In imperceptible seconds a Kunai with cataclysmic force shot right past them and immediately wiped the smile clean off of Naruko’s face and replaced it with a look of absolute shock. She didn’t know that a simple kunai could be thrown with so much force and so much power, it actually caused Naruko to quiver...Just for a brief moment before she lifted her hands to her cheeks and began to smack her own face repeatedly. She had come too far to be scared off now! She wasn’t going to let this get to her, she refused to go back to the academy, she refused to die here. It was now or never!

The orange-clad ninja placed her fingers into a cross formation and concentrated as her chakra began to well up inside of her, bursting and bubbling from within. “Shadow clone JUTSU!” she shouted out in a fit of pure bravado. She didn’t have to shout it. She just really wanted to. Three individual clones of Naruko appeared behind her and they all, alongside Gorudo, headed into the forest. Only for the clones to begin breaking formation while they ventured further into the forest. One going left, one going right and the other speeding up ahead of the real Naruko to scout. “I’ve got a plan of my own.” she said with a wide grin.

Hiro Hyuuga"A dog must obey. Stay down."
_______________________________________________
Once Hiro had landed, finding the others was simple. Unlike them, he'd prevented himself from being knocked too far by way of using revolving heaven mid-air, which gave him the wherewithal to observe and think. The duck jounin Kamoji wasn't anywhere near where they'd left him... but likewise did not seem to be in range of his eyes. Did he have... some method of hiding himself, even from the all-seeing Byakugan? No... That was impossible. He had to have run out of range. Perhaps he had some method of tracking them from a distance. Hiro supposed that meant that they had a little time. They would need it.

Jin, it seemed, had picked a fight with a random bear and Misaki had, he supposed, wisely decided to hide up a tree and left Jin to his fate. But as appealing as leaving Jin to be eaten by a bear may have been, Hiro would not be able to make such a decision, as much as Jin grated on him. Like any good leader, he would have to be accountable for the excesses of who he led. You could not lead who you would abandon. It was one of the many lessons he'd learned from his father and one of the many responsibilities laid on him by the village. The price of pride and privilege was just that responsibility. If you could not live up to your birthright, you did not deserve it nor the pride that went along with it. He had to get Misaki. He had to help Jin. He had to defeat that bear. He was a Hyuuga. He was the son of the White-Eyed Tiger. Leading two ninja against a bear was as nothing next to that.

"It isn't becoming of you to hide from a fight. Forgive me, if it is mistaken to have thought you someone that does not run away", said Hiro when he was beneath Misaki's tree. He'd said it quiet enough, but Misaki heard him anyway. She hugged her skirt to her legs, hopped down agilely to a lower branch, and hissed, "You mean like the guy getting batted around by that bear?"

And true to her word, Jin was tossed into another tree. If he wasn't wearing his helmet, he probably would have been knocked unconscious, but instead he got right back up and barreled at the creature, outrunning the bees chasing after him.

"I thought you believed yourself to possess greater ability than Kani-san", Hiro continued, "It is a trifling thing to defeat a bear."

He turned his back on her and began to walk towards the bear, "It could be that the standards in Suna are different. Perhaps I have asked too much."

As dimly as he viewed Jin, he wasn't ignorant of the crab's toughness, the boy loved to boast his endurance and even Hiro knew he was a veritable brick wall. That he'd survived as long as he had being slashed about with the bear's massive strength was a testament to that endurance. Hiro would have to be more careful. However, it was a beast, its accuracy would not be even close to that of a trained shinobi. So long as he could prevent himself from being hit, or especially slashed, he would have the upper hand quickly.

"You aren't Konoha", said Misaki from behind, having apparently jumped down from her tree.

"I am the least of it", Hiro replied without looking back at her, "and I will defeat this bear."

Just at that moment, Jin came barreling forward, bees in tow, and leaped towards the creature. This time, however, he didn't seem to be aiming a punch. With his arms outstretched and his mouth open wide, when the bear went to swat him away, he took the force of the blow and grabbed onto its arm like a tick. In fact, he sunk his teeth into its fur and growled through it, "Rrrrrrr Ananikey Jim Komi!!!!"

With his face firmly buried in the bear's fur, which he found himself stuck to because of the leaking honey from his helmet, the bees could not find adequate purchase on his skin to continue stinging and took to attacking the bear instead. The bear, mostly ignored the bees, but batted them off of his nose and sneezed at them. This was the opportunity that Hiro needed. Rushing forward, Hiro aimed a blow to the creature's torso, which was completely open and struck... only to find... his blow had only caused the bear to belch. What was this? The bear didn't even seem to notice with Jin stuck stalwartly to his arm!

"I thought defeating a bear was a trifle", chimed in Misaki with a smirk. Hiro frowned and jumped backwards.

"I need to strike its head", Hiro replied coolly, "Distract it."

"Why? It's Jin. He seems to be doing fine on his own", said Misaki. Hiro, for the first time, looked directly into Misaki's eyes. He was glaring murderously.

"Kani-san is our teammate. That is reason enough", Hiro almost whispered. If she was going to act like nothing more than a common dog, then she would have to be disciplined like one. Hiro would not allow an insubordinate- At this point, the bear was waving around his arm like a windmill as Jin's teeth had finally hit blood! Just how hard had he been biting that he was able to get through the bear's thick hide? Hiro supposed he would claim that the jaws of the crab were... stupendous, maybe, despite crabs not having jaws to speak of.

"Now", he demanded and Misaki startled, but also startled to life, rushing towards the bear with incredible speed and making what would be a low sweeping kick if it was aimed at a human, but it was a fairly medium-height sweep to the thing's knee. There was a crack of thunder on impact and its leg pushed off the ground, tilting the
beast while it swung its Jin-entrenched arm to try to regain balance! This was the chance he'd been waiting for...

Hiro's blow was true this time, landing dead center on the beast's third eye with as much chakra as he could blast through its skull! The bear's eyes looked in several directions at once before...

Poof!

The whole creature vanished in a puff of smoke, leaving only the bees and a box. Jin fell to the ground got up and proclaimed "I hath defeated nature with my stupendous Kani teeth! There are no teeth mightier than those of the amazing crab!"

After escaping the bees, the trio found themselves even deeper in the woods. Just what was the box? Was that bear really a set up? A transformed clone? Then the box must be a part of the test. He looked it over with his Byakugan. It didn't seem trapped. It was some kind of... he opened it up and there was a note in it. As Hiro read it, a very distinct song began to play. The note read:

"Good job my geeeenin!
You managed to defeat a bear!
Try to hit Kamooooji with the time you have to spaaaaare!"

A chill ran down Hiro's spine and he heard a whoosh. It was.... KAMOJI'S HAMMER!

Flying from seemingly nowhere, the hammer careened towards the trio too suddenly for anyone to react and the three were knocked ever deeper into the woods... Just what would come next?

Eri Takeda“No matter what, someone is depending on you.”
_______________________________________________
What was with this kid? He’d just appeared out of nowhere, and apparently that made him her problem. Was random children falling out of the sky just something she’d have to deal with, now? Oh, why couldn’t it be handsome men falling out of the sky instead of… more responsibilities…

Besides, if the kid’s dad was apparently involved, then Eri thought he should have come along to explain what was going on. It was a bit much to expect his child to do so… and Eri wouldn’t have minded meeting the father. She looked over the boy and imagined what a larger, more mature grown-up version of him might look like. She could get along with that. Maybe he needed a woman who could help raise his son…

But Eri was no homewrecker! The kid’s mother was probably a lovely woman. She was probably simple and hadn’t gotten a career as a ninja and hadn’t trained really really hard and wasn’t a war hero. She was probably a simple uncomplicated girl who wasn’t too demanding… a-and that was fine! Eri wasn’t the sort of person to get in the way of a happy couple. Not like the sort of loose-moraled, irresponsible women who would use her social position to worm her way into someone else’s relationship, simply because she couldn’t start one on her own and go around wearing low-cut shirts and sticking those things in men’s faces, who didn’t work a day in their lives and got good at make up and lies instead.

Eri would never stoop to their level, no matter how many bad dates she went on, or how lonely she was, or…

Suddenly she remembered that the boy was still there.

“Listen, you can’t be the sort of guy who just leaps out and jumps on girls! Like, it’s different with enemy ninja, but this is practice! These are supposed to be your companions. And they’re not going to know what you’re doing, or what your intentions are! You’ll come off like a creep. And nobody likes creeps, okay?”

After spouting her somewhat confused monologue, Eri realized that she didn’t even know what the kid’s name was.

“-Besides, it’s very rude not to introduce yourself.”
