This rp will start off at the castle of the princes, which is obviously a futuristic castle(lol), and the suitors arriving and such. Depending on your charcter you can pop in anywhere, at any time. Like, if you are a suitor, you can be just arriving at the castle or you are already there and getting ready to meet the princess and such. If you are the king, it can be similar or you can be doing something different...up to you really. Or, if you are an extra, or another character besides the princess, king, and the suitors, you can be doing whatever(chores, exploring, etc.)...again up to you.

Let us begin! :)

"Father you cant be serious, these conditions are ridiculous. To prove myself? I have worked all my life for this. Incase you havent noticed." She spat out at her father after hearing his first condition he was making before letting her rule the kingdom. Tavia thinking it couldnt get any worse as she pinched the bridge of her nose trying to not fly off the handle at her father. WHat was wrong with him and why was he putting a condition on her taking over rule of the kingdom.

The King gave a soft sigh and looked at his daughter, staring at her beauty and how much she had reminded him of his late wife. "Tavia, there is one more condition. You must marry. I am giving you a year to complete these two conditions. " He stated in a stern voice, he hated doing this to her but he needed to know that she could lead the kingdom and make it through hard choices, it was why he needed her to prove herself. The second one, marrying someone, was simply ruling alone was gruelling task, one in which had cost him to much time from his daughters side while growing up. He had watched her from afar but never to close as his duty as King had always pulled him away. She might of seen it but he cared deeply about her, afterall it was his only family he had left.

Tavia hearing the second condition couldnt hold back her raging anger that now coursed through her body. Slamming her fists down on the table she glared at her father. "How dare you tell me I have to marry. I dont need a husband or want one. Please reconsider Father. I can do the first one, I will prove myself to you. But please dont make me marry againt my will. " She stared him down as if that alone would make the man change his mind.

He kept his head held high as he shook his head no to her and then spoke, his tone stern and harsh with her as he needed her to complete these two things. "No Tavia. I have already made up mind. If you dont do these two things, then the kingdom will be up for grabs." Knowing that would motivate her a bit more, knowing full well how hard she had trained and worked to be the kingdoms next ruler.

Tavia glared at her father as tears of anger fell from her eyes, she turned and left the room. For the next five days, she had came back every one of them to try and convince her father to change his mind. To tell him different reasons every day why the conditions were pointless and that she didnt need to complete them. By the end of two weeks, she decided there was no way her father would budge on this matter. The only thing left to do was to figure out how to complete both of his conditions so she could take her rightful place as Queen someday.

Spending the next two weeks working non stop, trying to come up with a way to get both conditions completed within a years time. Getting married was something she never thought she would do but finding the right person was going to be the tricky part. A tournament. The best suitor winning her hand in marriage at a tournament. It would be an easy plan to carry out and she was sure there were plenty of men wanting her hand. With on plan down she started the preparations to get the word out across the lands on what she would be holding. The other condition of proving herself to her father was going to be a lot harder to come up with. Tavia still at a loss at what to do but knew that carrying out the first plan had to start. It would take some time for the suitors to show up at her kingdom.

A month had passed since the first wave of notice went out among the kingdom, letting all know about a tournament for the princess's hand, holding by none other the Princess. People were allowed to start showing up upon reading the notice. Tavia had kept herself busy and out of the eye of the public while the castle started to get suitors around the kingdom. She was not ready at all to hold this tournament and give her hand to complete stranger all to save her kingdom from falling into a strangers grasp.

Anna White was a simple worker of the castle. She was attending to her duties when she saw how upset the princess seemed to be one day. However, she knew it was not her place to say anything. She was only a mere castle employee after all. Her employers business was none of hers. She knew that much from the very first day.

Anyway, Anna was there when the princess made the announcement. She had been assigned a task that involved cleaning off a wall near where the princess had been. And so, she had ended up hearing every word that was said.

She frowned with worry and concern. She could only hope that things would work out for the princess. Anna had to admit, she did admire the princess at least a little bit. She wished she could be as strong and independent as her. She sighed a bit as she thought about that and tried to return her focus back on her duties at hand, at least for the time being.

Anna tried to keep to herself.

Duke Strax von Catterwall

"Your grace, we've arrived in the Kingdom of Provectus! We're pulling in to the port now." The ships captain announced. Duke Strax looked up from his desk. The image of such a finely groomed, regally attired man reading old, leather bound tomes belied his true, rather barbarous nature. "Ah! Excellent!" Strax exclaimed heartily, slamming the ancient book closed with little regard for it's well being. He tossed it haphazardly onto his bed before rising slowly, being sure not to disturb the maps and small plastic markers that represented various troops, squadrons, and fleets. When put together, they told the story of one army, represented with red, utterly crushing the second, represented by brown.

Adjusting his belt, he turned to address the captain directly. "Have your men prepare my car. I want to be able to at least see the kingdom I'll soon be ruling. Dismissed." The captain saluted his duke and left to complete his orders. Twenty minutes later, a gaudy red vehicle drove down the steel ramp connecting the C.Q.S. Midus' Right to the dock. To call it a car would be inaccurate, as it was closer to an armored tank that had been scaled down to the size of an S.U.V., though the mounted weapons had been traded for greater speed and mobility. The exterior was crimson with gold accent, while the interior was a much more muted brown, due to the genuine leather used to furnish it. Duke Strax peered out of the long, thin slats of bullet proof, metallic glass, tinted so that no one outside the vehicle could be sure of his exact position. It would take a few hours before they would actually reach the capitol city, let alone the palace itself. In the meantime, Strax ordered one of his body guards to call ahead to the palace and ensure his arrival went smoothly. Strax stroked his scruffy chin as the vehicle moved slowly but surely down the well planned route that would lead him to his future wife. He wondered what she'd look like, what she'd sound like, how well she could defend herself in both armed and unarmed combat, not well, he assumed. But most of all, he wondered who she was. She, heir to a kingdom that put all their faith into technology and academics. And yet. He thought. She chooses her husband with a contest. As if she were from ancient times. A grin slowly crept it's way onto his face. No doubt she understands the need for powerful children, and thus, a powerful husband.

The ride to the palace had been uneventful. Despite his best efforts, Duke Strax had been impressed by the obvious difference in technological advancement between his nation and this one. Even the architecture seemed to be objectively more effective. But utterly lacking in any sort of traditional touch. Strax thought grimly, finally having found something to be displeased about. "I'll have to fix that..." he muttered, unaware and uncaring that he had thought aloud. As the palace gates closed behind them, the vehicle finally rolled to a stop in front of the palace doors. Four armed men exited first, each taking their time to ensure the area was secure before allowing Duke Strax to vacate the armored car. He hated all these precautions and would have preferred driving himself in an open vehicle, dismounting with a thud, and striding up to the massive doors as if he already owned them and the walls they attached to. But he knew better and, after two of the four men joined him, sent a third to announce his arrival. Her staff had better not keeping waiting out in the open for long. Strax thought as he made some last minute adjustments to his ceremonial armor. It would do nothing against modern weaponry, but it was traditional.

Anna White blinked. She was working by the castle entrance when the arrival of the first suitor was announced. A guard barked at her to answer the front doors. She sighed and did as she was told. She learned not to talk back or disobey orders a long time ago. She could not risk her job or anything after all.

A guard on either side of her, she opened up the doors. She blinked when she saw the armored man there. She took a breath and paused when a guard spoke before she could do the same.

-"Yes?"
She watched as the guard looked him up and down.
-"A suitor I assume?"

Anna sighed. She took a step back and slowly made to leave. She tried to resume her work.

Duke Strax von Catterwall

After a moment the door was opened, revealing a young woman and two of the castle's guards. "Announcing the arrival of Strax von Catterwall, Duke of the Free Queendom of Catterwall!" Declared Strax's own guard. His were much better trained than theirs, and would not answer a question they had not been ordered to. Finally. Strax thought, eager to speak for himself. "Indeed! I heard tell of a princess who would decide her suitor by way of tournament, and decided immediately I must meet her!" He answered, striding boldly through the door. The woman was already making her way out of the room. "A member of the staff, I assume?" he asked, pointing casually at her. He waited for the guards answer as he cast his eyes over the interior of the palace. It was far more... elegant, than his own. Well, my sister's now. May she rule long and bear a stronger daughter. There were no visible scars or battle damage, no trophies of battle won on display. Still, it was a palace. Should worst come to worst, the guards would be able to fend off attacks with great advantage. "So, will someone be telling my men where to take my things, or will they be searching for it themselves?" He jokingly asked the guards. "More importantly, I am to meet the princess now, or should I head to my room first? Having spent the last eighty-three hours being trapped within one vehicle or another, I'm quite anxious to stretch my legs."

Anna listened as the guards said that he may be escorted to his room if he wished. The princess would arrive when she was ready. That much was obvious. Anyway, one of the guards turned to look at Anna as she was starting to leave the room.

-"You! Halt!"

Anna blinked. She stopped in her tracks with a gasp. She slowly turned to look at the guard.
"Y....yes? ....sir?"

The guard narrowed his eyes and frowned.
-"Escort our guest to his room if that is what he wishes. DO NOT DILLY DALLY!"

Anna winced.
"....Yes sir."

She frowned and walked back up to them. She looked at the suitor who had arrived.
"May I?"

It hadnt been a long enough wait before word made it to the Princess that the first suitor had showed up. Giving a sigh, she stood up and carried herself with confidence. Wearing a gown that was light purple, simple and elegant, but worthy of her title. When she left her room, word had gotten to her that today was the day. She had prepared and readied herself to looked her best as suitors were on their way.

Tavia left her room, instant her personal guards were around her and moving with her through the castle hallways. Her walk was with confidence and air about her that demanded respect. After several minutes she was now at the top of the stair case that lead down to the main entrance to her castle. Watching as the scene unfolded in front of her and the Duke walked into her palace as if he owned it already. "Hes the first and definitely arrogant. Thinking he has won already apparently. " She thought to herself as she then moved to make her way down the steps.

A guard at the bottom, noticing the Princess and looked about the group as the other guards, servant, and Duke seemed to be in conversation about what to do next. "Princess Tavia Haven of Kingdom Provectus. " His voice loud and clear as it demanded the attention of all those in the area to acknowledge the princess.

Tavis finished down the stairs, a small smile formed on her lips as her eyes fell on Anna, a friend of hers that she had grown up with, even given there status's were so different, she had a soft spot for the woman. As her eyes went to the Duke and his ensemble of guards. The smile had left her face and her eyes gave way nothing as to what she was thinking. Standing before him, she made no effort to hide the annoyance she already held for him. "Welcome to Kingdom Provectus. I do hope your journey here was safe. I am pleased to have you here. I am Princess Tavia, who are you?" She asked as her voice seemed to shift to a lighter tone though still held authority in it.

"A tournament, hm? One to decide the fate of this kingdom, by marrying off it's princess. I like this. They'll be distracted long enough for me to get in and get out." Liv said to herself as she stood from her air mattress, that she had stolen from some apartment building she was hiding in at the time. In her mid-morning rush to get ready, she grabbed a small metal triangle and pocketed it, a tool for later. Exiting from the hovel she called her hideaway, Liv made her way through the bustling streets, taking the occassional subway, because quite frankly, from the bottom to the top of the kingdom, that's a longer walk than she's willing to put up with.

Upon her arrival to the castle grounds, she witnessed what looked like a small tank pull to the front of the palace and empty it's passangers. Oh me, oh my, the first of many suitors I'm assuming. the thief thought, making her way around to a fenced in garden where she began her ascent, climbing the fence in three swift strides and vaulting over with ease. She stuck her landing and ducked between bushes as she made her way towards an open entrance for her to sneak in to.

Upon finding her entrance in the form of an open window, she pulled herself in, brushing herself off from the many bushes she had to jump into. "Well, that was easy enough, now to find either a vault or a study." the thief said to herself as she began wandering, searching for her quarry.

Duke Strax von Catterwall

Strax nodded approvingly when told that the princess would meet him when she was ready. When the castle guard shouted "Halt!", however, Strax froze, both arms instinctively going to his weapons. After the briefest of glances, however, he realized they were speaking to the young woman from earlier. Strax relaxed, though he was a little puzzled why such a stern tone had been used on a member of the staff. He was even more confused when she responded as if she had done something wrong. Was it normal for them to shout at their workers in this manner? Perhaps she was incompetent and needed a sterner hand? Before he could solve this little riddle, a voice rang out from the stairs, announcing the arrival of the princess. She was a beautiful creature. Thin, but beautiful. The duke fell to one knee, placing his right fist over his heart and bowing his head. He was here to impress, true, but he understood the chain of command well, and she outranked him. It wasn't until she spoke to him directly that he rose to his feet, standing straighter than he had before. "I thank you, Princess Tavia, for your most gracious welcome. I am Duke Strax von Catterwall, and it is my great honor to meet you." He took no offense to annoyance on her face. She was, after all, the princess. "And I thank you for your concern, princess. My journey was indeed secure, if uneventful. I am quite eager to face the challenges you have prepared for me, your highness."

Tavia watched the man as he dropped to one knee and bowed to her as she approached him. "Good, he knows his place, for now. She thought to herself as he then rose, her eyes glancing back over at Anna wondering why she looked like she did and the guards around her seeming a bit more stern looking then usual. Priority first, she had a guest that needed tending to first. Her eyes looking back to him and traveled up and down him before meeting his own as he answered her quesetions. "I am glad to hear your travels were safe and secure. There is still time before the events will start, I can see that you are eager, you are the first to arrive. I am pleased that you are here, none the less. " Her tone still strong and stern, her soft side pushed and tucked away, lost deep within her.

Looking to the guards now, her eyes tone sounding a bit harsher then whens he had spoke to the Duke. "You. " She turned away from the Duke and walked towards the guard "Will treat the staff with more respect then that. They are the ones that keep this place running. You can show his guards where they will be staying, the guest wing, he gets first pick of whichever room he wants in the wing. " She told him with a hint of annoyance and anger in her voice. Sometimes even the guards needed to be reminded just who ran the castle. Giving a soft sigh as she turned to Anna, her tone completely shifting to a much softer one though it was still strong and authoritive. "Anna, is everything okay here?" Her eyes watching the servant to make sure she didnt try and cover anything up.

It annoyed the Princess for guards to talk to the servant as if they were beneath them and trash. True they were not as high up or ranked as a guard, but Tavia knew all to well that her servants kept the place going. She had always demanded they be treated with respect unless they had done something to warrant other wise. Hoping the Duke didnt mind as she had to get things under control, not at all how she wanted to greet the first arrival for the tournament, but there was notihng she could do about it now. After dealing with guards and Anna, she turned back to the Duke and gave a warmer smile to then before. "If you feel up to it, I can personally give you a walk around the castle." Her voice back to the authoritive and stern she had before but holding a bit more of softness then before as well.

Anna paused. She watched as the guards all stiffened. The one guard who had yelled at her to halt, and had given her that order, was especially still. They all gulped. She heard them do so.

-'y....yes milady."
--"O...of course milady."
All the guards said one or the other. They scrambled to go do as they were told. That left Anna behind with just the duke, the first suitor to arrive, and the princess herself. Anna gulped. She took a step back.

She blinked and looked at the princess when she was addressed. She bowed her head and tried not to make eye contact. She assumed it was disrespectful to even look them in the eye without permission, the princess and her father, the king, that is.

"I...I am fine. I...am quite used to it, your' majesty."
She attempted to be modest. She did not wish to place any sort of burden or worry on the princess. She was used to being on her own to deal with the guards and such.

She hid how nervous and such she was from the princess, or tried to anyway.

"Let's see...kitchens, larder, servant's quarters, storage, guard barracks..." Liv listed as she looked into rooms as she passed by, trying her best to make it look like she was just a lost visitor as she wandered. "Now where would I keep the key to a massive cache of riches if I were royalty?" she thought to herself. When she saw guards patrolling some of the halls she would stick to an obscured corner and pass at the first opportunity, when she found herself near a room where she heard polite...if strained conversations.

"Shit, gotta hide." she said to herself, scrambling as she darted into a nearby broom closet, closing the door behind her as quietly as she could in her alarmed state. She took afew moments to correct herself before holding the door knob to keep the door from opening. In her other hand she took out that small silver triangle and winced as it unfolded into a fractal pattern wrapped around her fist, coating her entire right hand in the metal. It wouldn't kill anyone, hell it didn't even enhance any physical attributes, it was just programmable matter that she stole and turned into a multitool of sorts, but it would still hurt...alot.

Duke Strax von Catterwall

Duke Strax kept his expression stern and emotionless, despite the proud, beaming smile that tried to force it's way onto his lips. He remained at attention up until the princess turned her attention to the guards. Crossing his arms, Strax finally allowed himself a smirk as he listened to her put the armored bullies in their place. While he knew better to speak over royalty, Strax did make eye contact with his own guard, giving them a series of looks that nonverbally communicated that they were to move his things into his room, guided by the palace guards. Strax straightened once more just in time for the princess to turn back to him. "It would be my great honor, your majesty." He answered. A tour of the castle was just the sort of thing that would give them time to get to know each other. And for him to learn more about the challenges ahead.

Tavia sighed when the servant girl said that she was quite used to it, it was something that would have to be fixed. Her servants, anyone under her for that matter, wouldnt be treated poorly. "You have my reassurance that I will be putting a stop to it. Do not hesitate to seek me out and tell me if they dont stop. Thank you for all you do Anna. " She told her before turning her attention back to the Duke that was here for the tournament she was going to be holding. Making a mental note to hold a meeting with the guards that were usually left to tend to the castle needs.

Hearing that it would be his honor for her to give him a tour, she let the smallest of a smile show through her other words expressionless face. "Shall we then?" She looked back to Anna as if to make sure the servant of hers was quite okay before taking off with the Duke. "Right this way." She stated and then began to walk, not fast or slow, but at a steady pace, two of her own guards falling in behind the pair walking. Tavia not phased at all by this as she had grown used to it over the years, always having two guards at the very least with her at all times. "Dont mind the guards, they know better then to repeat what they might over hear us say. Please feel free to speak freely while we are on the tour." She then started down the hall that would be housing the guests while they were here.

Thinking it was appropriate and he would have an idea of where his room and things would be brought too. After a few minutes of walking down the hall doors started to appear on both sides and she motioned to him. "These will be the guests, like yourself, quarters. With not knowing how many will show up for the tournament, so I left them all open. Since you are first, you do get to take first pick. " She continued on, only pausing or stopping if he had done so first. "How far out did you say you came from?" Curiosity striking once again as she was indeed curious about how far word had gotten about her tournament.

Duke Strax von Catterwall

Strax kept pace with the princess easily. His stride was long and heavy, each step echoing off the polished stone floor and reverberating through the large halls. The large grin that had been fighting to be seen finally forced itself onto his face when he heard those two magical words; Speak freely.

"I hail from Catterwall, far to the north." He answered proudly. "It's roughly forty-three thousand nautical miles from here. Took three months to get here, but it was well worth it." Of course, it would have been a much shorter trip if he had flown, but Strax had a hard time trusting flying vehicles. The only time he employed them was for warfare. "Tell me," he said, changing the subject. "Do you have any interest in combat, your majesty? In my country, it is tradition for those who wish to grow closer to spar with one another. Nothing brings two souls closer than the heat of combat... athletic competitions are a close second, though." he added.

Tavia kept stealing glances at him as they walked along the hall, as making eye contact with someone while talking was a big thing for her. Showing respect while carrying a conversation was very important to her, she wanted him to know that he was being heard. When the grin showed up, she returned it with a slight smile of her own as it pleased her to know he wasnt scared to speak in front of her like most seemed to be. Hearing he was from Catterwal and miles away from her own, she gave a soft sigh. How would this ever work, as she never intended to leave her kingdom to go to his, was it something that he would really be willing to leave behind. Letting it stay in her mind for now, now bringing it to life as they continued on. "I am pleased to hear that it was worth it as it is quite the distance to travel. Word got around then as I hoped it had." She stated and then glanced back forward, they were coming up on the end of the hall.

As he switched the subject, she listened to what he was asking, finally a true grin cracked upon her face. Pausing a moment as she turned to face him, her eyes meeting his own. "Of course I do. I have been training with my own guard since a young age. I always have protection, but anything can happen. And I find it a very honorable attribute to have. To be able to help defend myself. A defenseless leader isnt much of a leader at all. My guards are excellent. " She stated and then started to walk again, turning down another hall way that would soon take them back towards the kitchen and the rooms in which servants would live in, which were much smaller and less furnished. "A spar between the two of us? I can have it arranged. Afterall I strongly believe you can learn alot by sparing with someone. It would be definitely possible while we wait for more to show up. " She gave another slight grin to him as she then came upon the kitchen.

"This is the main kitchen, though on the other floors, there is smaller kitchens for quicker meals and easy access to food then traveling all the way back down. Right down that hall is the dining hall which we will be using alot once more arrive. " She told him and pointed down the hall towards a very large and open room, with two long tables placed in it. Continuing on, she came upon the elevators and gave a soft smile. "This was one of the greatest things ever. What would like to see next? The training rooms? Or maybe the activity floor? There is much to see and if we dont have something you may like, please do tell me. I will see about aquiring it. She stated and then waited at the elevator to know where he would like to go to next. Even if it was a half ass tour, it gave her some time to talk and get a feel for the Duke.
