Greetings!

This is an RP based around the anime/manga series Mobile Suit Gundam, a mecha-genre involving many different universes that we will be culminating into one. If you’re a mecha fan I highly encourage you to say hello in our OOC and I hope you will join us! It can be a lot to understand so I highly recommend reading the provided information here and ask any questions you have in the OOC tab. Characters may be submitted in the OOC tab or by PM if you prefer, and will be allowed onto the Profiles tab upon approval. Please note this is a literate RP, and posts are expected to be descriptive and mature at all times. Rules will be available in the OOC tab and will be updated as necessary. Enjoy yourselves and the RP!

The World Is Finally Recovering…

A past which few remember has been filled with world spanning conflict and war, destroying much of what humanity was proud of. Universal Century, Cosmic Era, Anno Domini and more are mere chapters of the past where wars raged between Spacenoids and Earthlings. Where people used to relax in homes and cities, lay ruins populated by starving refugees. Where people travelled to the stars, floated debris littered with corpses and ghosts. Where humanity achieved its dream of living among the stars, hung bleak cold cylinders with few inhabitants. The weapons of war ranging from the mighty battleships, agile mobile suits, frightening mobile armors and legendary Gundams lay as treasures for others to find around the world. It is now year 109 of the Resurgence calendar, the official calendar of the Beloth Empire.

Humanity has endured the desolation and has picked itself up. At first tribes and societies, but then villages and towns sprung forth on Earth. The people gathered together to survive, some peacefully and others destructive. As the land and seas were littered with mobile suits and weapons from the past, some have taken them for selfish use while others began to defend themselves and even study these technological marvels. Cities began to reappear as people travelled the wastes for treasure or supplies. In space the remains of the colonies suffered many decades inside their cylinders without support from Earth. The trips between Jupiter and Earth meant fuel was a most precious resource, and their minimum stockpile could fund only a few expeditions at a time to the rich debris field around Earth. The culture of each society remained relatively unchanged since they were abandoned, yet collectively they have viewed one another as brothers and sisters in arms, from now until they return to Earth.

The World…

The Beloth Empire resides in the reshaped Europe, along the new coast of the New Mediterranean Sea. What was once a city barely holding together became a great nation through its military might and technological understanding of machines from our past. The Empire now encompasses multiple cities within its borders which each play their part in maintaining the nation. Its military is one few other known nations nearby can actively compete with. Their technological construction capabilities range only to battleships, cars and planes while it scavenges mobile suits, advanced generators and computer equipment from storage caches. They have been able to repair a spaceport and acquire HLV craft to return to the stars after so long. Outside of the Empire lay a few nations and city states, while the rest of humanity survive as nomads or aggressive raiders who attack anyone they have an advantage over. Occasionally the rare mobile suit or armor stuck on autopilot with no allies creates havoc, but otherwise humans on Earth live their lives as they have for years.

Above the Earth, over a billion pieces of scrap metal, spaceships, mobile suits, asteroids, orbital ring remains, cryo-sleep laden pods and more revolve around the world. As the eras proceeded on, they have added more and more to the field while little has fallen to the surface or been picked by scavengers. Communication from ground to space is impossible thanks to the remains of various reactors and equipment from the wars while visual sight is obscured by the metal. Sometimes the wreck of a battleship falls to earth providing a spectacle to those who can see it, along with more material for the world to claim.

In space, surviving by the skin of their teeth, the remaining colonies circling the Earth are Alexandria, Cecilia, Vitus and Side 3, banding together into the Colony Coalition for Restoration. With no support from Earth, the enclosed systems had difficulty recovering their population until they discovered a method of cloning to boost their numbers. Alexandria and Cecilia are agricultural colonies, Vitus contains many labs and industrial buildings to supplement, and Side 3 has been a residential and industrial colony since the time of old where it was the forefront of colonial military actions. Between the Earth and Jupiter flies the Hydrogen Fleet, which continuously travels from the two plants to bring precious fuel back to the colonies. Distanced from these cylinders are small outposts for the Colony Expeditionary Forces who gather machines and useful supplies from the wreckage around Earth, making use of the asteroids brought close to the Earth.

The People...

The humans on Earth have remained a stalwart bunch who have survived the darkened days of the past and strive through the new Resurgence calendar. The people of the Empire are made of a multitude of backgrounds, and are encouraged to view each other as siblings, yet there remains tensions between people of different origins and occupations within the Empire.

Outside of the Empire are the Independents, people who reside in either the city states or small nations for civilization, but most people survive in a nomadic or barbaric raiding lifestyle. These people tend to be self-sufficient and dislike the Empire and city-states, believing they wish to remove the people from their way of life up to this point.

In the colonies everyone has a sense of community, with those inside their colony. Since the usage of cloning the population of the colonies has grown much closer to one another in a sense, but while the colonies work together for their own survival, the distance and separation from one another causes many to be cold towards even their fellow spacenoids. Officials of the colonies are more social however, and attempt to make an example of themselves.

There also exist the Pod-people, those from the past who saved themselves in cryosleep pods in the debris around Earth or deep in the soil. The colonists attempt to find these people as often as possible for their knowledge of the past, although common issues with the prolonged sleep have been known to cause mild amnesia to their occupants which can proceed well after their removal. While most have been mere civilians or soldiers lucky to survive, some believe there may be legendary figures from the past.

The final niche of people on Earth are those now called ‘Advanced Humans’. In the past many different types exist, from Newtypes, Coordinators, Innovators, X-Rounders, and even Cyber-Newtypes. All were told to have powerful abilities above the average human in combat. Each one had differing abilities according to the era but were all more rare than humans and more sought after. While few confirmed cases have appeared, the legendary status of these people have naturally made them well known amongst even the masses.

Common Terminology:

  • Mobile Suit: One of the most popular machines of war in the past eras and now one of the most common sights for people in the Resurgence calendar. The size and shape of them can vary greatly but usually retains a bipedal form.
  • Mobile Armor (MA): War machines that lack a humanoid form yet retain high combat specs to contest against the rising popularity of Mobile Suits of the era. With forms ranging from older tanks to enlarged fighter jets and even large clunky boxes with weapons, they generally were more powerful than mobile suits while being more expensive.
  • Beam weaponry: Most eras were able to strengthen weapon technology into creating plasma weapons such as beam rifles, beam sabers and beam bazookas.
  • Head Vulcans: A more simplistic weapon usually mounted in the head of a mobile suit, they were either scaled-down beam weapons or small caliber ballistics used to intercept missiles, aircraft or remote weapons.
  • Mega Particle Weaponry: Beam technology taken a step up, these weapons are deadlier and produce a either a shotgun-like effect at low power or act as an enlarged beam cannon at high power. They are usually more draining than regular beam weapons so they are generally only equipped to mobile suits with high reactor power.
  • Heat weaponry: A more simplistic weaponry type, heat weaponry are melee tools with superheated edges meant to increase cutting power. Blades, sabers, and axes are most common but others exist.
  • Gundam: A legendary mobile suit known for its power and capabilities, Gundams are known throughout all of the eras of the past, usually being built as a testbed model for new features or the first in a line of advanced combat mobile suits, there is no denying the awe of a Gundam. Most can be devastating against enemy forces on the battlefield when wielded by recruits, but in the hands of a well experienced and trained pilot, they can be an absolute demon.
  • Minovsky Fusion Drive/Reactor: One of the most iconic reactor types across the world during the old eras, this fusion reactor powered many battleships and mobile suits once miniaturized. Because of the nature of the reaction, it affects communication equipment nearby, acting as a two-pronged jammer in battle. Other reactors with similar effects exist on most mobile suits, with a primary exception being battery-operated suits.
  • Psycommu: The term for a set of equipment that can react with Newtypes and other Advanced Humans. With different AH’s utilizing the material, it can be used inside of a remote weapon, as a mental amplifier, or increasing reaction speed of a mobile weapon.

Advanced Humans:

  • Newtypes are just as legendary as the Gundams they were know to pilot, and are the most common type of Advanced Humans who were theorized to be an evolution to the pressures of space. Generally born with extremely weak powers, they can grow these abilities over the course of their life, with some finding increased spurts of growth through battle. Newtypes are known for mental connections to Psycommu equipment, precognition, telepathy, increased spatial awareness and more.
  • Cyber-Newtypes are those created from ordinary humans to replicate such capabilities, although usually the results are unstable without constant maintenance with the proper equipment.
  • X-rounders are one of the rarer factions of humans and generally debated in their capabilities as they were said to be a regression of human brains for survival instinct. They are said to have high spatial awareness, precognition, psycommu control and enter a berzerk like state, disregarding friend and foe alike, as a last resort for survival. They are expected to appear on Earth more so than before.
  • Innovators are the rarest fraction of the advanced humans, they are theorized to have a higher life expectancy, telepathy and brainwave communication via psycommu equipment. They are expected to come out of extended exposure to the environment of space inside the colonies.
  • Coordinators were a rather light form of Advanced Humans, Coordinators are genetically enhanced human beings, which can have a number of enhanced traits including faster learning, and stronger and faster bodies that are virtually immune to diseases. They are however, rare, and the only known Coordinators are survivors from the Cosmic Era who survived in a Pod until discovery of their data allowed for recreation recently.

Locations:

  • Ground:
    • Capital City (Beloth): The capital of the Beloth Empire, this port-city rests on the northern end of the rearranged Italian peninsula. It has a large population as many from conquered areas are encouraged to move for better opportunities.
    • Port Algec: This city was once one of the largest ports in the world near the Strait of Gibraltar, which has since widened as well. Now moved a bit north and continues to act as a large port, though now for military purposes as an old launch site in Gibraltar is utilized as one of the spaceports of Beloth's military.
    • Astra: A large town built from the ruins of Vienna, it has survived well over the years for its location despite having little for defense. They were swift to join the Beloth Empire as its military began to encroach, actively merging their forces to gain a political advantage within the Empire.
    • Coldwind: One of the furthest north towns of the Empire, it sits along the new coastline. It's well known for its fishing industry, and more recently, oil refineries.
    • Armen In the region of old Turkey, Armen stands as a fortress city for Beloth, regularly attacked by nearby city states and kingdoms.
    • The New Mediterranean Sea: After numerous colony drops and intense climate change, the New Mediterranean Sea has encroached on land in several places, mostly isolating the Italian peninsula more than before and opening the channel between the Black Sea and the Mediterranean.
    • Odessa: A region that was once popularly used in the past as a mining rich region. The Empire gets much of its fresh materials from this region in the area of Ukraine.
    • Siberia: A new standard for the area of Siberia that lies to the east of Beloth within old Russia. Much of its society has returned to nomadic ways since the disaster but recently there’s been a kingdom that has risen up to contest the Empire, appropriately named the Gol Kingdom. Much of their soldiers prefer to use melee weapons on the ground and in mobile suits.
  • Space:
    • Debris Field Ring: A large section of the old orbital ring around Earth that remains intact, and due to gravity has attracted other scrap over the years including battleship remains and mobile suits. It can be seen from earth with a telescope.
    • Side 3: The largest of the four main colonies and the richest in history, Side 3 has returned to an old name it used back in the Universal Century. It contains many industrial facilities that it has used to monopolize maintenance and control over the Colonies’ Expeditionary Forces. They recently began a military academy, utilizing several Pod People as teachers to train their soldiers for mobile suit usage, and now war strategies. It is the only closed colony that has survived.
    • Alexandria: One of the largest singular colonies, agriculture was made a main focus. Crops on the colony are mostly food and feed crops, including wheat and oats. They have a large number of livestock with cows, pigs and chickens the most numerous.
    • Cecilia: The other agricultural colony, Cecilia's purpose was to harvest condensed crops such as vegetables and spices. Soy and tropical fruits are also produced in the colony thanks to regulated areas of the cylinder.
    • Vitus: The youngest of the colony habitats in years, the population of Vitus were mainly scientists and maintenance staff. This leads to them being the main researchers for mobile suits, advanced Humans and more from humanity's past. They also store much of the fuel for the colonies through their facilities.
    • Port-1: An uncreative name for the first Colony outpost in space not based out of an older base of the past. Much of the past few years of salvaging has been spent on constructing this base out of an asteroid over the Earth. Just outside the majority of the debris field, its the main point of travel for most soldiers of the Expeditionary Force during their duty.
    • The Moon: The only place other than the 4 colonies with a stable construction, it was vacant since the last war due to lack of support, being a space port rather than a fully functioning colony. Since the Colonies rediscovered it, they have partially repaired it for repairs to their ships.

Ranks:

  • The Empire:
    • Emperor: The head of the Empire, is descended from the Beloth family line.
    • Councillor: Second to the Emperor and the highest members of government one can achieve, they are each in charge of a settlement or town, with new locations sending their councillor to the Capital City. Also involved in military matters in their area, equal to a General in authority but not in practice.
    • General: A select few individuals who have provided their services for long enough to the Empire. Strategists and Tacticians, there are only 5 in the Empire, with one taking charge of the space campaign.
    • Legate: Second in command, they perform the majority of operations on the front lines while acting as commanders.
    • Centurion: Trusted men who’ve proven themselves for the Empire, they obtain special privileges in combat and are usually mobile suit pilots.
    • Carius: A rank for soldiers who’ve served several years in the Empire's military and begin to receive mobile suit training.
    • Regular: Most common ranking among soldiers
    • Tiro: Lowest level enlisted
    • Levi: Militia in Imperial towns for defense should the need arise.

  • The Colonies:
    • Governor: The top of the command structure, each colony has one Governor, with them being on a council to decide matters.
    • Commander: A new rank recently as the Colonies begin forming a cohesive military, each colony has assigned a commander to lead their forces.
    • Administer: A lower ranking member, generally 8-10 on a colony who guide others in their daily operations. Some are stationed regularly on the moon or Port-1.
    • Captain: A member of moderate stature, some are placed in charge of ships while some perform more duties at the bases. Upper captains are in charge of ships while Lower Captains fill smaller duties.
    • Lieutenant: A veteran at mobile suit piloting, some take the role as a secondary commander to captains and can lead multiple mobile suit squads by themselves. Some have even requested personal customization for their units.
    • Corporal: The ranking of a member of the Expeditionary Forces that has been given the privilege of piloting a mobile suit or armor. They are trained directly under another pilot as a squad for unit cohesion.
    • Watchman: A more experienced ableman, they are trained in more tactics to perform base and ship guard duties. They are rather skilled in this endeavor and most learn their ships better than their own colonies.
    • Ableman: A trained soldier of the Colonies, although their limited area of usage leaves them to act as base guards and ship crewmen.
    • Enlisted: Initial rank for recruits of the colonies.

Timeline of the Resurgence Calendar

  • 0RC- Beloth changes to Capital City as its ruler, King Edward Beloth forms the Beloth Kingdom into an Empire, and conquers three rival city states.
  • 18RC- Beloth accepts Vienna into its Empire, Colonies send an Expeditionary Force to the Moon to reclaim the old base.
  • 27RC- Beloth claims Port Algeciras and relabel it as Port Algec after a broken sign.
  • 33RC- Colonies begin sending scavenging teams to the debris belt as the Hydrogen Fleet is reestablished and begins its first trip for precious fuel for operations.
  • 42RC- Beloth begins its first great expansion to the east, claiming land as far as northern Ukraine, and ending its stretch at old Istanbul. While claiming many stockpiles of old weapons from the territory, Emperor Edward Beloth dies of his wounds from battle at the age of 74. In his place, his son Tristan Beloth ascends to the throne.
  • 66RC- The Colonies discover data pertaining to Coordinators of the Cosmic era, and begin research into repopulating their cylinders with the Advanced Humans. While initial trials are difficult, the issues are solved in the upcoming decade.
  • 77RC- The resolve of the Empire’s enemies boils over, and unknown parties exploit the Empire’s laxing guard as the borders have expanded. The second Emperor of Beloth is assassinated. His son, Markis Beloth assumes the throne at the young age of 28 with high standards to live up to.
  • 90RC- Emperor Markis Beloth commands for a second great expansion, conquering territory in all directions. The remains of Spain, North Africa, Germany and Turkey are now a part of the Empire. The city of Armen is reinforced into a fortress city as barbarian tribes gather to the East.
  • 92RC- The Colonies begin their first major project since reclaiming the moon as a large asteroid is located in orbit, selected as the site for construction. Shortly it becomes a priority to the Colonies as they see what they believe to be a dead Earth within their grasp.
  • 99RC- Beloth begins launching rockets into low Earth orbit with human occupants. The next year, the first conflict in space since the last devastating war as Expeditionary Forces intercept the launch, killing three scientists in the attack. While the HLV returns to Earth, the survivors are heavily injured including a young girl whose legs must be amputated.
  • 101RC- The Empire concludes they must reinforce their borders before focussing their military efforts on the colonies above them. To this end, an entire new division is created under the newest General, George Eltz.
  • 105RC- The Empire actively sends rockets into space as they begin repairs on an old mass-driver in Gibraltar. Repairs for the driver are expected to last at least 5 years even with important materials from space gathered, mainly stronger materials for construction.
  • 109RC- The latest trail of propaganda of the Empire's Space Forces begins its tour across the territories, inspiring the citizens and civilians with images of young and old taking to the stars. The support the highest its ever been. Many will have their story told like such, while some will soon die...

Scavenging & tickets:

In this world there is much to find from the past. Characters will find mobile suits, armors, vehicles and even battleships. Each side will build up their armies from the machines their soldiers find in the ground or the debris belt. By right, the government will take much of the gains while providing their discoverers with 'tickets' to be used. Luckily both the Colonies and the Empire run on a Gold, Silver, Bronze system. Gold are prized for mobile suits and higher, silver for mobile suit parts and weapons, with bronze used for infantry goods and weapons. They may be traded back to the government for these items between missions.

Ticket Exchange Rate: One Gold= Six Silver= 30 Copper Tickets

Port Algec

George Eltz's Office
George Eltz, Tyr Fin

There was a moment of silence as the new commander took in the news. "Centurion? Sir, I understand your trust in me yet I don't believe I should be promoted here before my next launch. Perhaps if Centurion Ramirez were to take the lead, his position would provide our troops with more confidence rather than a team leader being promoted on that day." The man explained as he stood in front of the desk. Only the two were inside, with the General sitting down, calmly watching the soldier he brought up from the waters of the north.

"Your experience speaks for itself. If I had no confidence in your abilities I would not give you this honor. You should take this promotion with a simple nod and salute." The man behind the desk spoke up as he adjusted himself, standing upright in his clean attire. A quick adjustment to bring the black coat forward on his shoulders and he folded his arms behind him, and in reaction the soldier squared himself up. "This launch will happen, I will expect the best from all of my soldiers, and more out of you. If you will put your concerns aside, I'll proceed with the briefing."

The man walked around from his desk to the adjacent wall where a large screen was present. Tapping on a console next to it, the screen changed to a set of pictures with questionable clarity depicting an elongated and damaged hull, scratches and marks from a war long forgotten like those from an elderly whale. Surrounding it were smaller craft whose details were harder to view, although from the intelligence shots they looked to be relatively unharmed. "This craft right here. We are unsure of its age or its user. This will be the site your team will examine for recovery."

The screen changed to wider shots, depicting moving objects through the field unnaturally. "The last recorded patrol from the spacenoids has been three days ago, however this appears to be a new site to them as well. You should expect combat at any moment, prepare your teams for such." As if on emphasis, the new photos shown now are from previous encounters with the Colonists, including the very first image of a mobile suit captured in space before it mercilessly attacked an unarmed rocket.

"Yes sir. I will warn my team appropriately as the situation progresses." Tyr's eyes were transfixed on the center image, the first mobile suit encounter in space in over a hundred years. The picture anyone joining the military will see. While the soldier was staring a hole into the screen the General walked over with a folder containing the papers and surveillance photos for himself and his team. "No one is stepping up there for the first time, but not all of your soldiers will have enough combat experience to fight effectively compared to before. It is your job to bring them back safely."

With that the General stood straight and raised his hand flat against the center of his chest in salute. "I expect your report immediately upon return Centurion." Tyr clicked his feet together and enthusiastically brought his own hand up to his chest. "Sir! For the Empire!" Once the salute was dropped, Tyr turned on his feet and proceeded out to the hall, and once a fair way down he pulled his headphones from his pouch and lifted them over his ears. All the while the General watched him walking down as the doors closed. George Eltz looked to the screen out of the corner of his eyes in contemplation before turning the system off and pulling the file out for the next soldier to speak to.

Tyr glanced at the file only briefly as he travelled along the corridor, light peaking through partially repaired walls. Even after decades under their control, not even the buildings of this base could receive constant upkeep. Tyr could see the irony of these gray walls compared to the wood that covered the General's office. Looking out through a clear window, he looked down to the ground, littered with men and equipment moving about in preparation for launch. To the distance stood 5 large cylinders, pointed away from the ground in eagerness. "There is only one way to go Tyr. All you have to do is not drown." The soldier reminded himself as he took a deep breath and turned his attention away, proceeding down the hall with a purpose, and walking onwards to the hangar bay.

Side 3

Colony Administration Room
Marie Wellington

"Let me make myself perfectly clear; Side 3 will not support any mission to the Earth that will involve the lives of our people falling back down to the rock our ancestors were blessed enough not to remain on, without a reassurance they can return." On the screens of the room surrounding the table used for discussions within the colony were now the images of the three other colony Governors. Murmuring was produced as the lone figure in this room continued on, leaning back in her chair while collecting her hair together with her hands.

"Until the Hydrogen Fleet returns we can not risk performing an operation into the gravity well again. Any soldier or ableman who falls is one less human for repopulation. We need not concern ourselves with rushing down to the Earth dwellers below when we hold no means of returning. Each force they send up we shall intercept, we are not in danger from a major attack. This does not mean we must rush ourselves into oblivion once more." The girl finally collected her hair together into a a bun behind her hair, resting her arms on the chair she occupied.

Marie Wellington, youngest Governor in colonial history, stared down the three figures presented on the screen, and more so the one labelled 'Gardener', Theordore Demele. What was a standard day of administrative duties turned into a confrontation once the shoddy hiding of Theodore's requisition for atmospheric equipment was revealed. Interrupting her own duties, driving up suspicion, driving her to be the opposition towards returning to their ancestral lands. Marie could see his planning clear, and while considering the other two Governors might see through this deception, she could not afford to the worst outcome.

"We will return to the ground, that I can guarantee. Within the year, provided the Hydrogen Fleet sees no delays or incidents we predict deployment to the ground within the next few months. My researchers assure me the rocketry we have recovered can be used to return from the ground. They merely require the time to properly test and approve all equipment before usage. Until then, we shall continue our operations at Port-1 as planned. Rushing ourselves may only end in detriment to our objective. If you doubt me, don't hold your breath, but I have other matters to attend to in my own colony group. Good day." With that the girl closed the call before anyone, mainly Theodore, could rebuke her. Her staff returned from outside the room, taking their seats once again to continue with the meeting with their usual efficiency.

Barracks>Hangar
Hanson Seuclid

The few ablemen and watchmen on free time relaxing in the barracks were all huddled together around a group of three men holding cards and glaring to one another. Sitting between them was the box of cards, preventing them from flying off in power loss, along with a set of slips for rations rubber banded together. Each of the soldiers were hesitant to reveal their cards, the one most relaxed sat on his bed with a smirk. His red hair contrasting the dark uniform he wore against the other crewmen. Finally one of the men relented and laid out his cards, and in response the second man smiled and set his down. The red haired shrugged and set his own down, barely beating the two in their impromptu game of cards.

"It's a good thing I've run out of rations when I met you boys. Didn't your friends ever tell you not to play against me?" Hanson spoke up as he grabbed the tickets on the table and counted them. While expecting a fist or a kick in retaliation, his eyes were trained down as the men stood up and left, knowing a confrontation would be detrimental to their own careers. Hanson scrunched up his face in reply, letting out a 'tsk' before taking the slips in his fist and leaving. Outside of the gravity-equipped barracks, Hanson moved his way along the base to the hangar, figuring he could let off steam in the suits.

This military was practically made of pencil necks, few even confronted him in person, reporting his actions like he was some government lackey of old. If the Titans were back, each one of you bastards would be drilled into a shiv. He pushed aside an ableman along the way as his emotions boiled up. Floating into the hangar, he looked around to the machines. Some he recognized enough to tell you their specs, others alien designs he couldn't make heads or tails of. Then there was his, midnight blue and fierce, its armor safe from ballistics while maintained, his greatest tool. Given they didn't allow him the use of infantry weapons, the mobile suit was his way of striking out. The ones giving him orders rarely changed, at least the high ups had a spine. All he had to do was wait till the war, war always changes boys to men.

Port Algec
Hanger #3

The hangers of Port Algec were better then most of the hangers that Skye was accustomed to. When it came to storing 18 to 20 meter tall mobile suits the Empire often fumbled when it came to temporary storage and maintenance areas. Major cities and military bases had large, proper facilities with steel and concrete walls that felt appropriately safe to leave a mobile suit. Yet on the outskirts of the Empire however it was a blessing when Skye had an aircraft hanger just barely big enough to worm her unit into.

Hanger #3 was a 30 meters tall, 90 meters long steel skeleton plastered with corrugated sheet metal. It was badly lit, it was drafty, and the concrete floor was either too damp or too cold. And it was wonderful.

Lying on her back atop a glorified skateboard, Skye performed her third maintenance check that hour. The tedious task of opening the bottom leg panels of her Flag and carefully examining the joints helped to pass the time. Having solid concrete beneath her instead of just dirt, or god forbid sand, allowed Skye to focus more on the act of maintenance and less on the possibility of her mobile suit suddenly dropping down on her and popping her insides across the hanger like the world's most crippled zit.

The initial excitement Skye had felt upon hearing of her transfer, and the clear signs she would be heading to state, had quickly faded as time slowed to a crawl. Seconds stretched into minutes, minutes became hours, and hours felt like they never arrived to begin with. Boredom followed by irritation quickly consumed Skye's mind as she struggled to find ways to pass the time until she could climb into her mobile suit and do what she had dreamed of doing for close to a decade.

Eating clean through two standard issue rations (and a third 'bartered' from shifty mechanic), Skye inevitably found herself drawn to her flag. As soon as she approached the mechanics near it all but fled, and the ones who didn't quickly realized their mistake. While Skye did not consider herself an expert on mobile suits, and certainly not a researcher, she knew enough to know when someone was doing it wrong. And no one was allowed to fuck up working on her pride and joy.

A glare and a few idle threats allowed Skye to have her flag to herself without the need to start waving around a wrench like a club. Over the next hour and a half Skye had poured over her mobile suit three times, going through its systems again, and again, and again with a fine tooth comb. She didn't find anything wrong with it of course, but that was sort of the point. Better to find nothing the third time, then miss a major mechanical failure the first time.

It was much easier for Skye to lose herself in her work when left alone beneath the shade of her machine, allowing time to pass slightly faster. Her impatience however was persistent and even Skye could feel herself rapidly losing interest as she neared the completion of her third check. Still on her back, massive wrench in hand and impact driver on the floor, Skye finished sealing the last leg panel when she heard a voice from the front of the machine.

"Excuse me, have you seen Carius Everin Skye?"

As soon as she heard the words Skye placed her palms to the ground, lifted her legs up, and launched herself forward. The wheels of the board beneath her sent her shooting out from under the shade of the mobile suit and back into the light of the open hanger. Slamming her feet into the ground, a dull metallic 'clunk' sounding out through the soles of her shoes, Skye jerked her eyes towards the first person she saw.

"Oh gods, please tell me you're here to give me orders to launch!" Skye said, a pleading tone in her voice as her eyes readjusted to the light. As soon as she realized who she was staring up at however Skye's eyes rolled back in her head, a look of visible disappointment and bitter frustration flashing across her face as she laid back down on her board.

"Oh god damn it, what do you want?"

Standing beside her to the left of her board was a young man standing around 5 foot 8 with sandy blond hair and a neatly pressed and decorated uniform that made him stand out like an empty plate at a dining table. His blue eyes narrowed and his lips formed a thin line as he looked down at Skye, who partially reasserted herself back underneath her mobile suit pretending to work.

"I haven't said a word and this is how you treat me?" The young man asked and Skye simply scoffed, picking a wrench off the floor beside her.

"Well you're not here to give me orders to prepare for launch, so I don't really give a shit what you have to say." Skye said as bluntly as possible.

"Aren't you going to even ask who I am?" The blonde boy said, impatience growing in his voice as Skye refused to slide out to look him in the eye.

"A morale officer? The world's most persistent insurance salesmen? The one guy with the pegleg from Astra who I accidentally set on fire? If you are the last one by the way I'm still not apologizing, next time don't have a leg made of something that can absorb flammable fish-oils." Skye smiled beneath the machine, chuckling to herself as she feigned work.

Skye heard a deep, beleaguered sign from the blonde before she was suddenly pulled forward. Wheels spinning against the concrete Skye was jerked back into the light and left staring into the sapphire blue eyes of the blonde, leaned over and all but bellowing into her face.

"I'm the son of Havin Harkin, Havrok Harkin."

A moment of silence followed as Skye looked up, head cocked.

"And I should care...why?" She eventually asked, the stern force of the blonde men melting away as he leaned back up. He stared down at Skye, beside himself as he pressed a hand to his torso.

"Havrin Harkin, of House Harkin, one of the 13 noble households?"

"..." Skye blankly stared at the boy.

"One of the most fervent supporters of the imperial military since it's inception?"

"..."

"Producer of Harkins Hungies?"

"OH YEAH!" Skye's eyes widened in realization, slapping her hands together and pointing up at the blonde. "That stuff tastes like concentrated diabetes, but gods damned if it doesn't hit the spot after weeks of nothing but canned food. This isn't about that commercial thing, is it? Because I'm not having my face put on a gods damned cereal box, I have standards."

"Well it's nice that you know my prestigious family name from...peasant breakfast cereal. But no, it's not related to any sort of commercial deal, at least not directly."

Skye breathed a momentary sign of relief, leaning up on her workboard and wiping her grease laden hands on a work rag.

"That's great! Well what are you here for? Because I'm a very busy girl with a whole lot of fuck-all to do, and you're keeping me from it." Skye smiled as she spoke, making her to get the black out of her fingernails as Havrok simply glared down at her.

"I'm here about our arranged marriage."

Skye froze. Her smile remaining on her face as her mind went blank, taking several moments to process the information. Slowly she looked up, her smiling face rigid.

"Our arranged what-now?"

"Marriage. Holy Matrimony. The thing most peasants see as a suggestion rather then a binding union." Havrok said, frustration in his voice as he spoke down to Skye. The blue haired pilot continued to stare, blinking in confusion as the facts sank in. "Your boss, that famous propaganda film director, contacted my father and offered your hand in marriage. The paperwork was all filled out and signed three months ago"

"So THAT'S why he tried to order that fucking dress!" Skye blurted out, her face tensing up as she pushed herself off the floor and onto her feet. "Also, that camera monkey isn't my boss. My boss is a general and I'm a pilot first, and a glorified cereal mascot second. So whatever that unshaved prick told your father, it was a load of bullshit."

"Listen, I'm not exactly overjoyed at the idea of marrying the Empire's 'Wonder Cripple'. However my father has made up his mind and what my father says, goes. Besides its purely for career seasons. I need to cement my loyalty to the empire to climb higher in the Beloth Intelligence Agency, and marrying a 'famous' ace pilot is the effective way to do that."

Skye's eyes dropped to Havrok's uniform, her eyes narrowing in realization and recognition of the BIA's dress uniform. "Oh god, you're a spook! Yeah, this wasn't happening to begin with but it's definitely not happening now. Listen, Hoovin-"

"Havrok"

"Yeah, whatever. Let me make something clear to you and your father. There's only one love in my life and its 18 meters tall and casually breaks the sound barrier." Skye reached out a hand and slapped it firmly against the side of her mobile suit.

"Whatever you were told, or promised, or think you're owed is not happening. So turn around, walk out those hanger doors, and we can both forget any of this happened." Pointing over the blonde's shoulder Skye looked the boy dead in the eyes, receiving blue glare as the young man's face grew ever redder then it had before.

"Do you have any idea how long it took to find you? Much less arrive here? Do you have any idea who my father really is and the sway he holds?" Havrok said, practically spitting.

"Your father could be the king of fucking Pluto and I would still not give a shit about him, or you." Skye spoke coldly, her initial amusement rapidly souring into genuine anger. "I have no room for distractions in my life. If you get in the way of what I'm after I'll remove you like I have every other obstacle up until now."

"Is that a threat?" Havrok took a step back, aghast as Skye continued to stare him down.

"It's a fact. Now get the fuck out of my sight or you'll suffer the consequences of your stupid-fucking decisions." Skye's voice grew grave, arms at her side as she continued to stare the blonde noble boy down.

All but shaking Havrok moved forward, shoving his face into Skye's as her growled through rows of perfectly white gritted teeth. "Listen to me, you degenerate tomboy, I'm in a very bad spot at the moment and I have aspirations that you are in the way of. So you're going to marry me or I'm going to set your fictionalized joke of a pilot career aflame and force you to crawl on the ground like the broken little animal you are."

Skye said nothing for several moments. Her expression became blank and she looked down at the floor. Havrok took a step back, smiling in self satisfaction. Suddenly Skye looked up, reached out and placed her hands on Havrok's shoulders and nodded her head.

"I think you need a hug." Skye said.

"I'm sorry, a what-"

Skye's hands swept down, coiling around Havrok's waist and locking behind his back as she tipped backwards and pulled upwards.

In a single fluid motion Havrok was hoisted into the air as Skye fell backwards, her back bending as she pulled Havrok off his feet and slammed him skullcap first into the concrete. His head hit the ground with an audible force that echoed through the cavernous hanger. Immediately she let go, allowing her back to hit the ground as Havrok slowly tipped out of his nonconsensual headstand and crashed belly first onto the floor with a weak flop.

Within seconds several engineers in bright orange jumpsuits ran over, faces lit with confusion and concern.

"Oh gods, are you alright? What happened?" One of the engineers asked, offering a hand that Skye quickly accepted. Pulled to her feet Skye brushed herself off, feigning mild pain as she looked back at Havrok who remained motionless on the floor.

"He tripped over me and hit his head on the floor." Skye said. "Looks like he hurt himself pretty badly, you might want to get him to the infirmary. Try not to move his neck though, might have ended up broken or something."

"Y-yeah, r-right!" One of the engineers said and immediately ran off to find a medic. The other engineers remained at the young man's side, who remained motionless on the cold concrete floor, blood starting to stain the top of his blonde hair. Skye looked down once and immediately started to walk off, reaching into her uniform and pulling out a pair of aviator glass. Slipping them on she waved to the engineers behind her.

"Don't touch my suit, I'm going to get something to eat. I'll be back in a bit."

And without so much as a glance back, Skye walked away.

Port Algec

Hangar 3>Mess Hall
Tyr Fin +Base Crew> Everin Skye

Despite the glory of the Empire, the grand size of the old worlds' military bases made transportation a pain. Lest you were lucky enough to find or buy a vehicle, on foot was the main method of travel for soldiers on base. Tyr walked the great length from the offices to the hangar facilities while heavy transports moved modular crates around, carrying parts and supplies to the maintenance teams or to the wharf to be shipped out and drive the war machine of the empire. Passing by hangars 1 and 2, he stared up at the units standing inside, a toy-like gray and blue suit and then the red suit suited solely for space. Otter and Troll's units, part of Team Delta. The most curious sight however was the small crowd that had gathered in front of the next hangar.

Stepping through the crowd slowly as most were focused forward, Tyr could see a stretcher being wheeled along followed by a medic and an assistant. The mechanics closest to the hangar were discussing among themselves and looking at the scene. Following the trail of blood lead right into the hangar, ending at the edge of the mobile suit hunched down like it was flattened. "Move away. Return to your posts immediately! Prepare for the launch!" The centurion shouted out as he moved to the center of the crowd and diverted to the hangar. Already he could tell what had happened, but there was still a good story to be heard. "Someone explain to me why there is a bastard soldier dressed as if to meet the Emperor himself, being wheeled out of the poster girl's hangar?" It took the mechanics a couple of glances before detailing the events as they could see them.

Tyr let out a sigh, wishing the stories of the girl were exaggerated but now shown as the tip of the iceberg. Still, no one knowing who the man was was even more annoying, not including that the name heard made him hungry for some reason. After ordering them to clean up the blood from the area, he looked up to the unit, the Flag, still in its aerial form. "I'll at least have to remind her to change you back for the trip... Notify General Eltz, and tell security about that little shit while you're at it." He spoke out before another sigh and look around at the maintenance materials all gathered around one point. All by one girl... he marched on past the mechanics and to the mess hall to find the other half of the incident.

With the majority of the rejuvenation work going into the launch equipment and the underground facilities, everything from the hangars to the bunks were in need of repair constantly and few were protected against the occasional breeze. Tyr passed through the halls of the mess to the largest of the available rooms and looked for the blue hair of the problem child. Thanks to her smaller size this proved a bit of a hard job, but she was found. Tyr walked along the line to where she was and turned to her. "Carius Everin Skye. I would have hoped you'd know better than to cause an injury to a fellow soldier before you launched." Hiding the fact that she was cleared to launch beforehand by the General wasn't going to help his new entrance into command. "I'm Centurion Tyr Fin. Callsign Kraken. Your new superior. You can start by explaining yourself and who that... Soldier was." He stalled on what to call the odd presentation of a man, knowing no soldier of the space division would have enough spare time or money to afford such pristine clothes, let alone wear them today.

Port Algec
Base Entrance -> Mess Hall

"We, as loyal soldiers of the Empire, are on the verge of making history here. To take on the final frontier is no easy feat. It takes will, talent, preparation, guns, men to fire those guns, and a lot of food to feed those men."
At least that's what Roose had justified to the MP officer guarding the gates upon returning back to Port Algec in a muddy military jeep that was in pristine condition when he took it out. While the usage and state of the vehicle did not leave much to be desired, the broken standard-issue rifle prominently displayed on the passenger seat and the dead wild boar (with its rotting tongue sticking out and attracting flies) strapped in the back seats did not do him any favors. Luckily for our unscrupulous hunter, the guard merely shook his head before handing Roose paperwork which marked his wild game meat as procured rations that need to be reported to the officer in charge of food storage. With a smile and a nod, he gleefully drove off.

The ease of this interaction was mostly due to the fact that a ton of resources were already pouring in from all over the Empire into Port Algec and the administrative process had already been streamlined since, presumably, the last thing the Empire needed would be for a logistical challenge to ground to a halt its grand ambitions to reclaim space. Every day a parade of crates labelled such as food, ammunition, electronics, and even laundry soap would be shipped in via trucks and naval convoys. While the supply corps who handled and unloaded the crates already knew of each delivery's destination, the newly returning Carius had no clue where not-so-fresh pork would go. However, if the obvious answer was the correct one, food would go to the mess hall. Thanks Occam's Razor.

Hence why he stopped directly in front of the common grunt's favourite building, narrowly missing a schmuck being stretchered out along the way. Unfortunately for Roose, no one was there to help him carry his deadweight from the back of his borrowed jeep. With the foul stench getting worse under the hot Iberian sun, he was quick to rush in and try to find any soul kind or gullible enough to help. As he entered the hall, there wasn't really anyone there that stood out as either of those. Bored and exhausted sure but neither of those qualities in a person indicated that they could be schmoozed to carrying a pig into the proverbial pantry. He would continue to aimlessly wander around before spotting the perfect mark. This kid had pushover written all over him, Roose thought. Sure, he needed a bit more muscle to haul that hog out of the jeep but beggars can't be choosers. As he got closer to tap him on the shoulder, the following words had been uttered which threw off the troublesome Tadmoore's scheme.

"I'm Centurion Tyr Fin. Callsign Kraken. Your new superior. You can start by explaining yourself and who that... Soldier was."

Aw fuck he thought. With his mind racing, Roose had to figure something out and quick. So, he blurted out the first thought that came to mind.

"Sir, Carius Roose Tadmoore reporting in! I did not drive to this location and there is no wild boar at the back of the vehicle that I did not use!"

Port Algec Barracks->George Eltz's Office

Over in the barracks nearby the hangers were two men, one an old man whose blonde hair had started to grey and the other a young adult whose blonde hair was more vibrate compared to the older Hessen. The room was sparse, everything in the room was furnishes supplied by the military, the main things that popped out in the room was a German forged short-sword and a reproduction acoustic guitar. The two men were talking with a bottle of scotch and two shot glasses between them.

"Are you sure you want to do this son? Going into outer space is a great honor and all but I don't wanna lose you to something up there if I can help it" The old Legate Fredrich Hesse asked his son and hopeful successor to his Position to Legate Nathanial Hesse. His Father was proud of such a move towards something prestigious like the Beloth Space force, but never liked the fact that leaving Earth Atmosphere could be so dangerous. He by no means was a dumb man but his studies never involved aerospace engineering or advanced physics and looked suspicious to the old King.

"I'm doing this Father, if this get my military career kickstarted in high gear under General Eltz, I'll do it. Mind you I don't like working under a commoner whose younger then me but he has some experience in space so I'll have to deal with that." He paused to take a drink of scotch from his shot glass, it was a good burn.

"And besides aren't you underestimating my skills Father? I know you worry about me but its gonna be a milk run compared to Gol or Arman, and if there are anyone up there that wants to kill us I think I can take them with the HMT. The Nerds in Intelligence say it operates more smoothly in space so I get to use it at its full potential," Nathan loved the fact his father was still loving even though he is pushing him to even higher heights then his own, as well as try to find a girl to find and marry, something to worry about later"Also your training has gotten me through thick and thin, Its time to see if it will serve me well in space."

"I've been told on multiple occasions, I've been keeping an eye on your career young Lion, your arm hasn't been bugging you much?" Referring to his sons arm injury some years ago. Nathan stretched his scarred arm like it was nothing,

"Like nothing happened, the doc said it was sheer luck that the shrapnel damage wasn't permanent, and the help of modern medical technology. But enough about me how's the homestead? The girls miss me since after my medical leave?"After his tour he was put on medical leave and was given the ability to go home to recover.... It was overwhelming as he hadn't seen his family in a few years and his sisters greedily hogged him for most of his time to catch up.

"The girls miss you the most and hope that you can come home soon as Maya Recently got engaged and sends her regards and best wishes that you join for the wedding next Spring."

Nathan was ecstatic for his younger sister, she may have been the youngest of the three but seemed to be "Good for her, is it that nice young Regular Trooper I saw you evil eying when I was there?" the old Hessen nodded solemnly, he may have not thought the man was good enough for his girl but understood their relationship was pure. The young Hesse chuckled and checked his watch, "Can't have everything go the way you want... Oh crap I got to meet up with the General. Father its been a pleasure to see you again"he stood up and saluted his father who returned it by lifting a glass to his son,

"Take care son, oh and tell the General thanks for allowing me to visit." Friedrich stood up and hugged his son as he opened the door and the two left the unit and headed outside the barracks before the two went their separate ways.

When Nathan left the heat hit him pretty hard as he wasn't used to the humidity and higher temperature of the Mediterranean. What caught his eyes as he walked over towards the Admin building was some medics stretching an fancifully dressed man with bandages on his head which made him chuckle and had to ask what happened. He ran up to the medics who were focusing on transporting their injured cargo towards the Infirmary and he asked the question that has seemed to be on minds before him

"What happened to this guy here? Looks to well dressed to be out here." Nathan asked curious, the medics just sighed in annoyance as they really didn't need to answer stupid questions right now.

"Ask Skye, she did this to him. Now if you don't mind Carius I need to get this man to the Infirmary." The medic said plainly as they kept going nearly being hit by a muddy vehicle which caused the Carius to flinch in sympathy, last time he was in a stretcher was in the heat of war and those guys were bad-asses being cool and collected getting him out of the battle lines. Hearing Skye caused a head injury to such nicely dressed guy made him laugh and had to hear the story on that one, but first he needs to see the General before heading to the chow hall which was nearby. In front he saw the same dirty jeep he saw nearly run over some medics. As he got closer he noticed an object in the jeep, an animal carcass? Questions for later.

The young Lion entered the main building which has seen better days of course but wasn't ramshackle like certain buildings he has been in. He made his way towards Eltz's office, when he arrived he knocked on the door before opening and getting back into focus "Sir, Carius Hesse of Delta Team Reporting!" saluting his superior and commanding officer.

Port Algec

George Eltz's Office
George Eltz, Nathaniel Hesse

"Your division's spent enough time sitting around the base, I want them to provide support around Armen with the most recent intelligence we have. The transfer is effective immediately." The General just finished discussing the movement of the division providing for the base's northern defense. The three centurions standing in front saluted before calling out "For the Empire!" and filing out. George walked over to the map now displayed, representing the Empire's current available strength in each region. Of course the largest contingents appeared in the new east of the Empire, although the southern push had seen a recent renewal with the promise of closing the gap between the north African sectors and those of the east. With time the Mediterranean will properly come under the Empire's control with only the Gols creating the largest problem.

The General close the display off just as there was a knock at the door. He turned to see the successor of the Hesse family in a salute. "Carius Nathaniel. Come in, I trust your family reunion was enjoyable? Your father can't always be brought away from the Northern front. If the Gols keep up their aggression you may not see him for the better part of a year." The General matched the salute before speaking, stepping away from the display board towards the open space in front of his desk. Pouring a cup of now cold tea, he swirled the deep amber liquid before taking it in and returning it to the desk. "I also expect that you are prepared for the operation, and will put forth your best effort under your new commander. You will be briefed soon and finally meet him, but for now I'd like to hear of any concerns you may hold that might impede your abilities for this launch." George folded his arms behind his back and looked at the young 'noble' patiently.

He hardly understood what the ecstatic Tessa was attempting to explain to him. The schematics or maintenance upkeep of the Neodu was someone else's job. Yet she pushed the importance of 'understanding' harder than ever. The bulky computer which displayed intimate information of the modified Mobile Worker shone an offending blue. Tessa listed off certain areas of worry; areas that Sirius had for most part considered and got use to during his initial training. After awhile she leaned back into her chair and swiveled it towards him. "So that's just the basics. I'll have a huge manual ready for you to go over later, it'll have personal notes and other kinks I'll realize once I get a chance to look at the machine myself. A long pause occupied the space between them. She sighed then threw her pen at him for not replying quick enough.

Sirius moved his head to the side before chuckling. The pen sailed high through the air for a moment before falling. Tessa offered an apology to one of the others in the room. Leaning against the workstation he crossed his arms over his chest. A murmur of conversations were a constant in the research sectors. Being one of a few place with gravity, they were a hotspot for the scientist and off-duty mechanics. "I get it... kinda sorta. But you know I don't learn that way, I'm a hands-on kinda guy."

She readjusted the strap of her bag across her chest before preceding to log off her computer unit. "Hands-on... You'll be dead before you learn anything of use that way. Preparation is key. How many times do I have to tell you that?"

Tessa paused. "Relying on others is okay but you should learn what you can if at all possible."

Sirius knew she was right but it felt overwhelming sometimes, all he wanted to do was, live, breahte, and have fun. To explore the things around him with the Neodu; which was a new train of thought for him. Mobile Suits were a bright fascination and being in one had stirred something in him. "I know, I really do." He let a easy smile take over. "Just watch though, everything will be fine This is the path laid out for me."

"You choose your own path, Siri. Now let's go get some food."

Hangar > Halls
Hanson Seuclid + Sirius Free

If nothing else in space, the colonist certainly showed themselves to be an efficient kind of people to keep up constant maintenance on their machines. Of course if one of those machines just happen to keep them all alive it'd be no surprise. Their mechanical expertise extended from the base's subsystems and life support to the mobile suits and ship equipment which provided their newest technology to consume. As Hanson passed the various pilots, ablemen and mechanics he looked over the suits with more vested interest. The mixture of machines from different armies and standards was appalling for a military, but given the capability of some Hanson could applaud them for their desire for power. He soon reached his own suit, a dark blue and black suit without anything but the blades on its arms.

Despite the mysteries surrounding the suit, Hanson insisted no one touch the suit while he is away, mostly out of his own curiosity of the suit's features. His own true capabilities on mobile suit were limited to combat only after all, finding out how to fix this suit would be impossible if it ever was destroyed. Watching them each day he would learn a bit more, but only as much as the rest of them if any. He pulled himself into the chest and turned on the unit's systems, cycling through the start up programs and checking the stability in case anyone decided to be a bit daring. After the screens finally caught up they revealed nothing out of the ordinary save for the date, still stuck in the year 325PD. After double checking each system he concluded no one had touched his machine, and promptly left the suit with a grin.

Pushing off from the cockpit door, Hanson directed his body towards the nearest door to the cafeteria, not hungry enough to use the rations he just won. Living in enough Federation ships made the coming and going from halls in zero-g easy enough to the man, and he was being propelled by the powered handles in the halls to his new objective. When he was flying through the halls however, a pair of bodies floated nonchalantly by, causing him to reach out and run his hand along the wall to affect his trajectory, shifting with his legs to float behind them likesome swimmer poised to hit the water, only feet first. "Check the halls you're passing through!" he barked to them, his hands grabbing onto the corner of the 4-way corridor to confront the duo. He pinned himself in the entryway to the hall on their 'left' as he glared to them.

Mess Hall
@WXer@Phoenix347

Skye had managed to find herself a seat at an otherwise empty lunch table and set her plastic tray down to begin eating. The mess hall was sparsely populated as most personnel were out working in preparation for the launch. Those who were in the mess hall were either kitchen staff, those designated to deliver food, those who had skipped eating to get through their work, or those skimping out on their duties to get a bite to eat. Though Skye realized that she was likely the only one who fit into the last category as she scraped up a spoonful of the 'meat' in the thick red sauce in the center of the tray.

Just as she lifted the bite to her mouth however she heard the sound of approaching footsteps, lifting her eyes and finding herself faced with an unfamiliar face. As soon the introduction was made and the stranger's rank made clear, Skye rose out of her seat and snapped into a semi-reluctant salute. She smiled as she glanced over the purple haired man in front of her, noting the headphones on his head as she took in his appearance.

"This shrimp is my new superior?" Skye thought to herself, eyes narrowing for a moment. "I wonder if he actually has any real experience or if he's just another member of the esteemed 'Chairforce' the Empire seems to have so many of. If he's all just show then I won't have him as my superior for long after we go up."

Straightening her back Skye opened her mouth to speak, only to stop dead and glance over Tyr's shoulder as another stranger snapped into a salute and exclaimed something about a boar. Blinking and tilting her head, Skye was stunned into silence and left only able to stare at the man. Slowly she drew her gaze back to Tyr, doing her best to compose herself and clearing her throat as she opened her mouth properly to speak to her new superior.

"I'm afraid I don't know what you're talking about, sir." Skye said, dropping her hand out of her salute and sitting back down, the back of her prosthetic legs knocking against her bench seat as she did so. "That person in the hanger wasn't a soldier and I certainly didn't injure them."

Snatching her fork off the table, Skye took a bit of the 'meat' on her plate and immediately winced at the sharp artificial barbeque flavor. An unsettling chemical aftertaste lingered on the meat, making her wonder if she should continue eating before immediately taking another bite. The taste was off, but it filled her stomach and even the bad taste helped satiate her boredom with its peculiar depth. As she took continued to eat, she continued to talk.

"I didn't get their name, only that they were part of the Beloth Intelligence Agency. Or claimed to be anyway." Skye said between bites. "They approached me when I was working on my unit and started asking me a number of rather personal questions. I slid out from under my machine to speak with them face to face, but before I knew it the man had fallen over me and smashed his head clean into the floor. I could have just as easily busted my head open because of their clumsiness."

Skye glanced up from her plate, locking eyes briefly with Tyr as she put a particularly stringy piece of 'meat' into her mouth and spoke as she chewed.

"From the looks of it, the fool smashed his head pretty hard, might have even broken his neck. Thankfully the other engineers were quick to run over after they heard the noise, though I'm certain none of them saw him actually fall. What an unfortunate, unavoidable tragedy." The blue haired girl shook her head, the 'regretful' tone in her voice failing to match the barely visible smirk on her lips as she continued to eat her plate of 'meat'.

Sirius Free & Hanson Seuclid | @Phoenix347

Following behind Tessa, staring near innocent at her small back, Sirius figured he was hardly hungry. Not enough to eat anyway. However, since they had established their bond, this was the way things had always gone between them. The older, smarter woman would make a decision and he would follow close behind. There was always a nagging sense of wanting her to be proud of him; it often fought with his carefree spirit.

Tessa's head turned just slightly in his direction and he felt her intensity again; that need to protect him. Like a heavy blanket laid over her and him. He fixed a smile on his face, aware of her eyes traveling to his. Words were formed in his mouth but stopped short of being spoken when an odd jolt ran through him, a sensory warning of incoming danger; than a sudden feeling of honed and hardened action.

"Tess, careful!" he shouted, catching her attention a bit too late.

She barely missed him. Sirius got the feeling that was partly due to her opposite's reflexes. Letting go of the propelling handle, Sirius reached out to stop himself. He landed a little short of being directly in front of Tessa but facing the man. In front of them stood, Hanson Seuclid; Corporal Seuclid actually. Mistaking that visage of fire was impossible.

Tessa was poised but visibly unhappy. She lowered her eyes and said, "Of course, Sir. Sorry, Sir."

A tad irritated, Sirius found himself hardening beneath the surface. He floated in the hall not with elegance or practice but with obvious effort, even still, there laid a pensive resolution on his face. A new defiance lurking behind his clear teal eyes. There was something about the very harsh vibes floating off the Corporal, as if his edge was constantly sharpening, ready to cut anyone who crossed his path. Honestly, the man felt dangerous in a subtle, tip-toe kind of way.

The whole hierarchy of the military was still soft to him. Tessa warned him just a few days ago that he would need to conform quick, to learn and adapt quick, but Sirius found that annoyingly tough. Even when he knew he should shut his mouth, his feelings would just rip it open and all those quiet yet immovable sentiments would fix themselves onto him. Like armor. The hall was but a short distance from the cafeteria, and yet it seemed pretty damn far at the moment.

Tessa flicked her gaze up and over Sirius' shoulder, aware of his ticks. She hit his shoulder with a twack! "Cut that out," she growl between her teeth. "Now!"

Sirius stood his ground, his necklace slowly shifting from out his shirt.

George Eltz's Office
George Eltz, Nathaniel Hesse

Nathan was quiet for a moment as he sat down, he thought about what the general said. He felt comfortable about this mission for the most part, he wouldn't admit it but he has some butterflies in his stomach, this is completely new for him and would be a bit anxious if it wasn't for the liquor. But he can trust the Eltz to put together a team of the best the empire has to offer, after all he is here how could they not be the best? Nathan found pumping himself up or feeding his own ego helped keep his cool and his head straight.

"Besides a lack of experience, not really anything that I can think of that could hold me back from preforming my duty. Besides you asked for me, you know my record, I do my job and I do it well. But if you think I can't handle this I can go with my dad back to Gol and kick their asses across the snow wastes. But you want me here, me and my HMT for this incursion into space."Nathan leaned back in his seat and copied Eltz's posture putting his own arms behind his back. He always wants to impress and his language always reassuring if not selfish, he has gone through nearly a decade of war how could he not feel a sense of pride? He is a perfect example of a soldier in the field, a monster in combat, and a great officer...or he thought he would be. The commanders never let him command any mobile suit teams primarily because of how he waged war, apparently they didn't have any other MS that could keep up with him and never gave him a command. A shame, if they had five of him then the war in Gol would have ended years ago.

"I trust you to choose a great commander to lead me and whoever else is in this premiere squad for this Space Force of yours. And, out of the goodness of my heart I will be the greatest squamate he shall have.... But if he gets himself killed because he is a moron, I call dibs for the squad leader position." Nathan said in good humor with a smile on his as he repositioned himself in a more dignified posture. Even in the presence of a general where he should be the most professional he tends to be lax and humorous.

Gaberiel Seth

Port Algec

As soldiers, base crewmen, maintenance units, and vehicles of different variety went about their duties or task; Gabriel Seth sat in the shade provided by his Mobile Suit looking through a series of papers. These papers were information regarding his current contract with the Empire, they mostly detailed time, location, and individuals of note that he should come into contact with regarding his current mission. As a slightly cold breeze blew through the area forcing Gabriel to hold his papers tightly, he thought on if he should wait to be called on by the Commander of this base, or if he should go looking around the base to familiarize himself with it.

After a few moments of thinking to himself Gabriel decided it would be better to head to the base commander's office so that he could quickly get important information regarding the base, as well as further information regarding his current contract. Rising up from his sitting position Gabriel would dust himself off before heading to the commander's office. He had to ask for a directions a couple of times, mostly to ensure he was going the right way and getting lost.

Once he finally made it to the commander's office, Gabriel could see the office was busy. Gabriel look around for a moment before finding a seat to sit down at and await for the base commander to call for him.

Hangar 3>Mess Hall
Tyr Fin Everin Skye Roose Tadmoore

As the girl was sizing him up, and Tyr was about to reverberate his demand for an explanation, when another soldier from behind him began to spout out about a car and a boar. Practically stunned, Tyr was silent for a moment, just staring at the man before replying; "If that is the case Carius I better not see such a vehicle in front of the mess and in its proper place at the motorpool, with whatever boar you're spouting on about generously donated to the cooks for Delta Team's return meal." Internally Tyr let out a large sigh, recognizing the name from his new roster, his full file had escaped the Centurion but this certainly placed the man on Tyr's new watchlist after the shrimp in front of him. Already she started to explain her story of the incident.

Even with the other engineers' recollections of the event, Tyr could tell she was being facetious. "I see, and I'm certain you did all that you could as a fellow soldier of the Empire to help him to his feet and ensure his safety. After all, relaxing in this mess hall after your fellow soldier has bene injured in your presence I would expect nothing less from an exemplary soldier about to launch into space. Of course if this isn't true, then an inquiry and grounding would be in order for any parties involved, intelligence or standard forces." Tyr paused for a moment to allow her to consider the situation. "Whether they sitting behind a desk or the luckiest of klutzes, its expected that you help your fellow soldier when they are in need or the Empire would not be in the position that it is. Your compliance is expected for the operation or I will ground you. Am I understood?"

George stood looking at the young man, noting his copying of the posture and making a mental note to remind his father in the next letter. "I've called for many from across the Empire for this division. You'll be fighting along side fresher recruits as well as veterans such as Centurion Deryk Orgs. He is not your commander before you ask, his expertise will be helpful in supporting those still acclimating to the environment. Each one of the soldiers sent upwards is expected to come back. You will put aside such childish notions if you wish to prove yourself, they will not improve the evaluation of your performance. This operation will not only support this division, but the Empire as a whole should you succeed. This should make clear the brevity of the situation. I expect your best and the best from each member of this launch."

George looked down to the soldier in front, seeing the eagerness to prove himself and the pride that came from his heritage. It seems even the previous commanders for him hadn't fixed him straight yet, and George didn't expect Tyr to properly do so either, but providing plenty of competitive pilots would help each individually. "The briefing will be in half in hour. I expect you to be punctual as usual."

Halls
Hanson Seuclid, Sirius Free, Tessa Stride

A lab coat and her tag along huh? Hanson tilted his head up at the duo, clearly telling their relationship from the actions the woman took and the man's rebellious attitude towards Hanson at first before correction. "Tch, if I didn't know a greenie when I saw one you'd still fit the bill. Must be someone special to be out here if you're unable to hold in that malice kid." Hanson pulled his arms away from the corners, crossing them and with the motion tilting clockwise slowly, clearly used to moving in such an environment. From the clothing the kid war rose a cone shaped device with a feint glow, something like a kid would carry around from his mother. Course neither resembled one another but a few hundred years also changed the world as he knew it. "Kid, you should lose the toy lest you get it caught, or worse it ties up in your EVA suit." As Hanson nearly turned upside down completely he pushed off with his hand, moving to the 'ceiling'. "Or just give it to me before you end up smashing into an asteroid."
