Zinlynn

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Zinlynn watched at first until the goblin finally came to. She was surprised to see that the goblin could speak good Common. She commented as such, "Oh, good. So you can speak Common,"

She then answered the Goblin, "One of our own died because of you and your friends, so we're not exactly in the best of moods. But as long as you answer our questions honestly, you'll live,"

She then asked the goblin, "A dwarf and a friend of his came to this spot before us. Their horses lie dead here. Where did your friends take them, and why? Tell us everything you know,"

Ye Adventurers Five...

The goblin almost laughs at Zinlyn as she tried to intimidate him, but the tortle who seemed rather impatient worried him more so he just snorted a guffaw "I'll tell you everything I know just please don't kill me for what the others did!" he says with panic in his voice.

Quickly the goblin explains that up the hidden path is where a dwarf and a human were taken but the dwarf was taken elsewhere to a location unknown to the goblin. Their orders were to capture him and bring them to their leader, a bugbear named Klarg. The goblin mentions that he has no idea why their boss was so interested in some dwarf, and how they were keeping the human prisoner for no apparent reason.

"That is all I know, I didn't even want to participate in the ambush but apparently it's supposed to improve our 'teamwork'! What the hell is that supposed to do? I just wanna start anew...Maybe learn horticulture?" it appears this goblin is thoroughly displeased with how things have been recently in the cavern up the path, and quite honestly he was rethinking his whole career in just simply being a 'minion'. To say the least your all quite baffled and confused at the sudden question of what it really must be like to live as a monster in some dingy old lair where you pray to whatever god to have mercy on your life if some group of people just up and kill your friends and family.

But maybe that's just your imagination talking, so rather than contemplate on such philosophies you figure that other matters should be attended to.

Zinlynn

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~**~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Zinlynn raised an eyebrow, trying to keep up an intimidating appearance (and failing). She listened to the goblin intently, focusing not just on his words, but also on his body language, his eyes, and for any sign of deceit in his entire being. But alas, as he continued to speak, he showed no sign of lying to the group. If anything, she felt awful. Apparently he did not live a good life as a 'minion'. There was more to monsters than what was on the surface.

She sighed and she said to the others first, "He's being honest with us, guys,"

She then directed her attention to the goblin and she told him, "We'll let you live since you were so honest with us with everything. You can leave. But if we see you in this Klarg's lair, then your life is forfeit! Do you understand?"

Once he gives her an affirmative answer, she would step aside to let the goblin run far from this place.

Alandra rolled her eyes as Zinlynn attempted to assure them that the goblin was telling the truth. On top of that, she threatened it after seemingly letting it go free. Who was to say it wouldn’t skitter off to its friends and warn them in advance? or gone on to raid another caravan or worse? Creatures like this were despicable. It reminded her of her childhood. However, there was no need to protest. They had other, larger problems at hand.

She looked off in another direction, staving off some of her thoughts.

The sooner they found this Klarg, the better.

Tibor would whisper a prayer to his god, asking that he judge the little batiri as it ran. While he expected to be treated by the solum sound of a funeral bell, signalling the spell taking effect, no such sound came. Either by way of its own will, or by the mercy of Kelemvor, the creature had resisted the spell.

"We need to move quick. No matta what it say, dat batiri could have him a change of hart. Decide he not okay with us killin him friends. Go run off an warn dis Klarg we coming. Take him chances wit whatever de bugbear give him for de information."

With that, Tibor would turn and head towards the tracks he'd found. While the batiri had seemed to be telling the truth, the tortle knew well how quickly a creature's truth could change once it was no longer staring death in the face. If it could so easily turn itself against its comrades from before, what was stopping it from deciding to turn on their wagon and halfling driver once they were no longer there to protect them.

As soon as he was allowed to flee the goblin was off at a decent pace southwards the way the wagon came from and in a matter of moments disappearing behind the bend of the hills. The only way to discover what became of the dwarf seems to be the path that the goblin told you all about.
