It's September 24th, 1998.
The Midwestern City of Raccoon City finds itself on the verge of a crisis, though most don’t know it.
For the last decade, the leadership of Mayor Michael Warren has led to an era of prosperity of the city. Roads that were long since in need of reconstruction finally had the funds to be cleaned up and repaired, old rotting buildings were entirely renovated, and funding for the out-of-date Police Department found itself enough money to finally modernize to the standards of the looming 21st Century. The majority of such renovations is the result of Warren’s privatization of the city’s infrastructure, though it is through that partnership that the Umbrella Corporation has taken control of the city beyond simple investments and public works. Much of this has kept itself out of the public consciousness, though some reporters have begun trying to unravelling certain layers. But it’s too late.
Umbrella’s experimentation in secret underground facilities had leaked into Raccoon City as evident by contamination. The United States Government, in league with Umbrella’s experiments, reports “strange radioactivity” and begins investigating. Contaimation-related events are discounted as “riots” and most denizens of the city continue with their daily schedules.
This is the last day they will be able to do so. The situation is untenable and has reached critical mass.
You are not Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, you are not military. You are just a normal citizen of the city who is about to be molded by the chaos of what will become known as the Raccoon City Incident. Good luck.
Pretty self-explanatory, but this is a Resident Evil RP set during the Raccoon City Destruction Incident, which means we will go through around 7-8 days (IC-wise, obviously) as a group attempts to survive and escape the chaos of the situation.
Characters will be starting out at a semi-upscale restaurant in Raccoon City's downtown before everything goes to hell.
Any questions should be remarked here as I fill out a IC once we have enough people interested.
