Bobby sighed, more worried than angry and looked up at Mika, “Then you let me look over them. I can tell you anything I find, if anything. We never have, but I’m willing to try, if it means you are safe.”
Dean nodded his head, both at Mika’s explanation of why she’s reading the books, and Bobby’s words, pointing a finger toward Bobby’s direction, “He’s right. I understand what you’re trying to do, but it’s not helping you. You’re coming up blank. Let us take it over…alright? I told you, I’ll do anything you need me to do.”
He watched her become lost in thought for a second, and pulled her face to stare into her eyes, “Listen to me. I’ll do anything, I need to do. I’m sure there’s something out there. We can find it together, and I’ll take on the load, alright? You deserve that much. I don’t want to see you hurting and hurting yourself like this, darlin…”
Bobby smirked at Dean’s words. He was consistently relieved to have the boy back in his house, helping care for Mika. As hard as Dean’s exterior was, he had a soft spot, and sitting right in the center of that soft spot, was Bobby’s niece. He took a drink of his scotch, and grunted, “Let him help…The boy actually wants to help…”
