Bane moved over to Serena and sniffed her and said “she was hit from behind. And she’s drained almost dry…” he looked over snd said “we need help. We need your sister”

John was trying to wake up but was too weak. His eyes moved under their lids as he fought to wake up.

What Bane told her worried Kay a lot. She couldn't risk loosing either John or Serena. They both meant so much to her, yet the idea of involving her sister was such a high risk to her. She thought of several ways to protest that idea but every single time she could come up with a counter that Bane would come back with. Conceding, she sighed and nodded.

"...right" she sighed, wondering how they were going to get to her, she didn't know if the cell phone number she had for Sam was even still the right one, then there was trying to explain everything to her if it was the right number. "I don't know what she could do to help, or if I even have the right number for her still, but I guess we gotta try.." she commented, pulling gout her phone with a shaky hand.

Bane looked at her and said “she saw the attack on you young one…a part of her already knows this world. But we need help to help them. That will be all she needs to hear. We just need safe haven to figure out what happened. It’s not like the hellblazer and my guardian to be taken down by a plant…I think they were ambushed”.

Bane looked around and said “we should find the car and get them to her place…I can handle carrying them to the car. We just must find it”

Kay listened to Bane's reasoning and Kay knew deep down that he was right. Sam did see some of the attack on her in their uni dorm before she made a run for it. It was a fact Kay tried to deny all this time ago because she didn't want to haunt herself with it, but deep down she always knew Sam saw it, it was one reason WHY Sam was so convinced she was dead. "okay, let's get moving" she nodded and replied.

She helped Bane lift the two of them off the ground and went to find the car they had, looking around. It took a few minutes but they found it, to which she got the keys from Serena and unlocked the car, helping Bane get them into the car before she got into the driver's side.

Bane used the shadows to put both of them in the car and he looked around. “It might get reported a wolf walking around…” shadows wrapped around him and when they pulled back a man in his place. He had dark hair and bright gold eyes. He moved and sat in the front with Kay.

“We are all ready, Lady Kay. Shall we?” He was handsome, and you could feel the power coming off of him.

Kay let Bane get them both into the back of the car and when he shifted into a human form and got in the front with her, she found herself briefly staring at him in surprise, slightly taken aback by his drastically different appearance. He was incredibly handsome, and if she wasn't so into John or met him way before John as well as not knowing what he was in any other time, she probably would have unashamedly flirted with him.

Snapping out of her thoughts, she looked ahead of her again and started the engine, "R-right, yeah" she replied and began driving back to Sam's place. "thank you for helping Bane, I couldn't have done that on my own" she told him.

Bane smirked and said “I am glad I was able to be summoned in time.” He looked out the window as they drove and said “are you going to tell her everything?” He wanted to know how much to say in front of the human they wre about to see.

Kay shook her head, "no...yes..i don't know to be honest" she began, "a large part of me doesn't want to overwhelm her with everything. She may look like she can take a lot but there's a big chance she won't take it all well. Either that or get so over protective it'll be suffocating. It's bad enough I've hinted at me and John being an item." she replied with a fond small smile.

" I'll tell her enough I feel she can process, so maybe just follow my lead. I can tell her you're a friend of Serena's we were going to visit whilst in Seattle" she said, figuring it was the best explanation for the time being. "if that's okay with you" she added. "also, don't be surprise if she'll try and insinuate anything between us or between you and Serena, she's a massive lover of love. Always wanted me happy with someone particularly" she added.

Bane smirked snd said “just tell her I’m Serena’s uncle. It’s worked in the past. We just need to get them somewhere we can get a better look at their injuries and figure out what happened”

Kay nodded as she drove at Bane's idea, glad that Bane wasn't taking any kind of offence to her warnings about Sam. She loved the woman dearly, of course she did but her sister's nagging about her love life always got under her skin a little bit. She knew the moment John woke up and was coherent enough, she would no doubt experience Sam's interrogation of John.

The drive was unsurprisingly quicker than the speed walking she did to get to John and Serena and soon enough she found herself pulling up to Sam's house where she found Sam sitting on the steps in front of the house, clearly having been wondering whether if Kay was ever going to come back. "well..tine to get the help they need and for me to lectured on running off on her...again" she sighed, turning the engine off and pulling the keys out of the ignition before shoving them in her hoodie pocket.

Sam looked up when she saw the car pull up and it was Kay inside as well as someone new beside her, then the two familiar bodies of John and Serena in the back. She quickly stood up and jogged down the couple of steps and over to the car. Letting Kay open her door and get out first, she then looked at her sister. "what the hell happened?!" Sam asked worried. "I'll explain inside, but for now, please help us get them inside" Kay replied, slightly pleading. Nodding Sam opened the back passenger doors and helped Kay get Serena out of the car as she was the closest.

"Bane, can you get John please?" Kay asked.

Bane nodded and moved John out the other side, not using the shadows this time till Kay said it was alright too. He pulled John’s arm over his shoulder as Serena went between the two girls. Bane smiled at Sam. “Bane Clawson. You must be Sam. Pleasure to meet you”

They headed inside, bane carrying John as the girls carried Serena in.

With Sam's help Kay carried Serena up the steps to Sam's house and shouldered Serena whilst Sam opened the door. "Hi Bane, nice to meet you too" she replied as she then proceeded to help Kay carry Serena inside and placed her on one of the two couches in the living room. "you can put him-" Sam said, meaning John, "on the other couch. Then you can both can tell me what's happened."Sam finished saying, giving Kay the look she used to when they were kids.

"we will but we need to make sure these two are okay first" Kay replied.

Bane laid John down and checked his vitals. “His getting stronger. I think we got them out before any true damage was done. Just need to treat the burns and let him wake up.”

He moved to Serena and moved hair out of her face. “Looks like she is the same. Her energy is returning. Just need to treat the head wound. I think that they were both hit while the vines attacked them”

Kay and Sam listened to what Bane said about John, then about Serena's condition, both nodding in understanding over it, but the mention of vines doing this to them made Sam raise an eyebrow. Kay however gave her the look that said 'I'll explain later', to which she sighed and went to the kitchen to get the medical kit she kept stashed in a cupboard there.

Kay walked over to John and Serena, checking them herself before sighing with relief that they were okay. "I'm just glad they're still alive. The pain I felt through mine and John's bond was agonising" she spoke to Bane quietly. After she spoke Sam returned with the medical kit and walked to Serena first, "luckily I know enough basic first aid to help as I'm guessing neither of you will agree to taking them to the hospital" Sam commented.

"it's nothing they can handle there" Kay said back, grabbing the burn cream from the kit and began treating John's injuries the common human way.

Bane nodded and said “they aren’t hurt too badly we can’t handle. I’m sure they will be fine once they can wake up.” He moved to Serena and his eyes glowed for a moment and he cursed softly. “Those vines planned to drain them dry…but why?”

Suddenly John groaned, fighting to open his eyes. “Serena…look out…”

Sam didn't notice his eyes glow as she was looking at Kay and how she was with this John bloke. She could see how worried her sister was over him, a sure sign that she had indeed found someone she cared about deeply. Sam had to admit there was a rogue-ish charm to John and could see why Kay was drawn to him, even if she didn't find men attractive in the slightest. She knew what her sister's type was and John did seem to fit that bill.

Her attention snapped back to Bane when he mentioned about vines about this damage, "I'm sorry what..? Vines can't do this" she commented. Kay sighed and pinched the bridge of her nose as Sam overheard what Bane said. She was about to talk to Sam when she hesrd John come round, to which she put her focus on and stroked his cheek, "hey shh.. You're both alright. I'm here John" she spoke softly to him, as she tended to his burns.

Bane looked over as John slowly opened his eyes and looked around. “Have to get out…Serena…down…” he tried to sit up, clearly confused. He saw Kay and said “wait…how did I get here? Where is Serena? She got hit before hose vines grabbed her…did they get me?”

Bane smirked and said “might need to have that talk now, Kay…”

Kay went to calm John down again when he suddenly and thankfully seemed to focus to the moment in time. "it's okay John, Serena is opposite you with Bane and we're in my sister's house. It was the safest place and that situation has been dealt with" she explained to him before looking over her shoulder at bane and then at Sam and sighed.

"Bane can you keep an eye on John as well please? I think I need to talk with my sister in private" she reuqested of him, really not wanting to do the talk but it seemed thanks to Bane's slip of the tongue, she would now be forced into admitting everything. "Damn straight we're having this chat in private" Sam told Kay, taking her hand and coaxing her into the kitchen through the door on the right side of the living room.

Bane nodded and said “they will be safe with me, Ms. Kay. John, stop moving around” John stared at Bane and said “wait that’s bane? What happened to his…” he stopped within a word to not make things more confusing for Kay to explain.

Kay nodded at Bane's words before giving John a look as she got pulled into the kitchen. Once in there, she watched as Sam closed the door behind them both and stood in the way, but not so close that she would get hit by the door if it were to open from the other side. "Right, start talking because clearly you're holding information back from me. We've been friends since we were toddlers pretty much, sisters since we were nine years old. So spill, please and don't give me some bullshit story" Sam told Kay sternly, folding her arms across her chest.

Kay sighed and paced back and forth before pausing over her centre worktop, placing her hands firmly on the surface, staring down at it. "it's complicated Sam, and I want you to remain safe so I'd rather not tell you everything" Kay replied which got a scoff from Sam. "....fine. I don't know how to tell you everything, but you did hear right when Bane mentioned vines doing the injuries to Serena and John out there" Kay began explaining. Sam rose an eyebrow, "There's things in this world that aren't all sunshine and rainbows. There's magic in this world and not the good kind, demons, monsters...mythical beings...." Kay began explaining.

"I told you not to lie to me Kay!" Sam replied, trying to keep her voice down. "I'm not lying to you Sam! Ethan was possessed by a demon and it's demons that are after me. Hunting me. John and Serena saved my life when demons almost got me. I've been living on the streets, running all this time because if demons or anything else nasty in the world get me, I'm going to Hell...literal Hell." Kay explained, trying not to cry as she said the words out loud.

"Why would they be after you Kay? You're just you!" Sam asked, still not believing it. "because I'm not human! Not fully" Kay partially snapped in a forced hushed tone. "what are you talking about!?" Sam asked, "I'm a phoenix...the last of my kind" Kay watched Sam intently as she said the words, letting them compute into Sam's mind, but it didn't go as well as she had hoped. "I-I can't deal with this" Sam stammered, walking away into the hallway.

"Damn it Kay" Kay complained to herself, slamming her hand on the worktop before seeing her hands shake.
