I am The Watcher. I am your guide through these vast new realities. I observe all that transpires here, but I do not, cannot, will not interfere. Follow me and dare to face the unknown, and ponder the question... What if?
Earth-257

The Blue

Doctor Bruce Banner. In this reality, like many others, he is half monster, half man - a brilliant scientist trapped in the prison of his own mind. In this reality, it was not Rick Jones he tried to save from a tragic accident, but Betty Ross. She died. His efforts changed him, mutating him and transforming him into the Incredible Hulk. While the Hulk, he gained exponential strength and durability, but his anger left him as little more than a mindless beast.

Hunted down by those who would use the Hulk as either a weapon or a science project, Banner fled to the land of lawlessness that was the Blue. He tried to keep a low profile - but love finds a way. In late 1999, Doctor Banner became a father to a young girl, whom he named Lana. To keep her safe, he was forced to make the ultimate sacrifice - to send his daughter into the unknown, only hoping that one day she may find her way back to him.

"Be brave, baby girl," Doctor Banner whispered, holding his hand up against a pod. He was in an abandoned research facility that had once been called Area 51. Tears slid down his face as he stepped away, even as the baby inside the pod screamed and cried for her father. He walked up to a console, gave the pod one last look, and pulled a switch. Without any sort of brilliant flash of light, the pod then vanished.

"Come home one day."

She never did.

November 12th, 2021 - the Raft

"You can feel it coming too, can't you?" Luminous asked. A creation of the High Evolutionary, she was the perfect merge of Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch's DNA, with her powers exceeding those of her genetic parents. Her long silver hair had chunks of blue in the middle and her skin was extremely tanned, but her most prominent feature was the fiery defiance in her eyes - the certainty that she was better than everyone else in this world.

"Pfft, as if some second rate sorcerer such as yourself could notice it before the likes of Doom," he scoffed. Victor von Doom, enemy of the Fantastic Four, former ruler of Latveria (now a region in Serbia), master scientist and sorcerer, was clad in prison garb. He had been permitted to keep his metal mask to conceal his scarred face and nothing else.

"Unevolved trash," Luminous muttered. "And to think, I was considering helping you." She then turned away from him - their cells were facing each other, on opposite sides of their hexagonal prison.

"I do not need your help!" Doom snarled, before suddenly there was a gigantic BOOM! The kevlar-like polymer that the cells were made out of shattered instantly. The restraint collars, designed to keep enhanced prisoners from using their powers, were completely fried. The cell block was bathed in an eerie red glow, pulsing from the red flashes of emergency sirens. And in the middle, there was a swirling something - a cosmic anomaly.

Doctor Doom reached out, his hand trembling slightly. "A universal doorway..." he muttered, his eyes widening with glee and delight. Distantly, he could hear the screams of guards, trying to subdue other prisoners - guards were doubtlessly rushing to their block right now. And he didn't know how long the doorway would remain open. But if there was one thing Doctor Doom was an expert in, it was power.

A deliciously evil scheme hatched in his mind - a way that he could have it all... in this world and countless others - Doom, supreme. He then plunged himself into the swirling chaos and vanished, only to be followed a second later by a trail of silver.

5:00 AM November 13th, 2021 - the Raft

S.H.I.E.L.D. had called in its finest, the Secret Warriors, to investigate the anomaly connected to the disappearance of two high profile raft prisoners - Victor Von Doom and Luminous. It was definitely more a job suited for the Fantastic Four, but Bonnie understood why Directors Fury and Hill had asked them to give it a try first. It'd be embarrassing for S.H.I.E.L.D. to have to beg the Fantastic Four to help them catch someone the Four had entrusted S.H.I.E.L.D. to keep secure in the Raft. It'd be better for the agency to be able to save face and handle this internally.

It also helped that the Secret Warriors had experience with Luminous, the psychotic speedster.

The team had been taken to the Raft, a secure underwater prison. All other prisoners had been relocated to the Cube, just in case the anomaly spread. They each were dressed in protective suits, designed to keep any potential radiation exposure to a minimum. But really, it was complete guesswork. No one knew what that thing was. It was like a hole in space-time, surrounded by a swirling red haze. "I've never seen anything like this," Bonnie admitted. She had an art pad with her, perhaps not the most traditional tool for an investigation, but she was busy drawing details of the anomaly - it had resisted photography. It wouldn't show up in any photographs.

"It's clearly some sort of swirly science thing," Amelia said. She didn't really know why she had been asked to help with this part. Flying them to the Raft had made sense, but what did they expect her to do, blow on the thing? Maybe it was dangerous or they expected Doom and Luminous could pop up again, so then her presence made sense. However, it then occurred to her that she was there because she was fully a member of this team now - and it made her heart warm. She had to resist the urge to audibly go aww.

"Mhmm," Bonnie agreed.

"It's.... Yeah, I've got nothing," Raynor said, shaking his head. "It's not Asgardian. And it's not the Quantum Realm. And whatever it is, it isn't light, since then I'd be able to manipulate it..." His voice trailed off. He could feel that there was something familiar about the anomaly, but he couldn't place it. It was like the more he tried to think about what it was, the most distant it seemed. "Maybe it's magic?" he asked.

"Do we have anyone here who knows magic?" Amelia then inquired. "Could we give the Prez a ring maybe, see if he knows some special words to get rid of it? Or maybe we just need to find a wand or something and do it like Harry Potter ourselves, with a swish and flick?" She wasn't super clear on the different scientific expertises of the team, but she was vaguely aware that Bonnie's stuff had to do with the human body - and that didn't look biological at all to her.

"Nope," Raynor said, before glancing at Sparky. He wished that she would've stayed home with Zarina, but she had insisted on coming. "Is it electrical?" he asked her.

"Niah, can you see anything?"

Niah was not happy about this situation. She did not want to have to deal with Luminous. Add on top of that someone she had made a promise to and had broken that promise. She hated that. Niah knew she had been careful and said she would do her best but couldn't promise she'd get him out of the Raft. But that didn't matter because she hadn't succeeded and now he was escaped. Would this version of him know of her promise? Would he be mad at her for not actually trying? She had tried, but had been shut down, but would he believe that?

Bonnie got her attention drawing her out of her thoughts. She focused on her sight letting her hearing drop away. She looked at the anomaly trying to see if she could make anything special out of it. "I don't think it is magic...Well, it is. Sort of. Strange might know. It reminds me of something he can do. But it is more like the Quantum Realm stuff. It is sort of like Pym and Strange made an extradimensional space." She had a feeling that Novi would be good to have for this. Or a very controversial visit from her sister. Dalisy could interact with something that permitted her to travel between dimensions, she might understand whatever this was.

Niah looked closely seeing if she could understand where the event horizon was. She was half tempted to remove her glove and try to get a vision from the anomaly. However, she couldn't place where would be safe to touch and she didn't dare stick her hand into what could easily be a trap.

Matt snorted at her comment about it being a weird science swirly thing. That was pretty much what he got looking at it. Or it was magic. It cracked Matt up that Amelia's first idea was just to call up the President and see what his opinion was about this. It made sense, but if you removed the knowledge that they had worked closely with Alex the idea was ludicrous. But Alex was one of the people they knew who had a good idea about magic.

It surprised him that Raynor didn't seem to know what it was though. This totally seemed like some weird thing Raynor would understand and be all like 'you don't know what this is...wow just depressing'. He shook his head and listened to Niah's explanation. She seemed to be unsure too giving a very confusing explanation about the science swirly thing.

Location: The Raft

Cassandra had at least come somewhat prepared, she wasn't sure if a drone would have been of any use at all or anything, as she kneeled before the case she brought in that contained the drone. She looked over her shoulder at the strange swirling anomaly, she wasn't sure why or not it even appeared or why had appeared in the middle of the Raft in the first place either. "Looks like something out of Star Trek." Cass said towards Amelia, she was a big nerd growing up and watched a lot of sci-fi shows as a kid. Cassandra frowned slightly when Raynor, or even Niah weren't able to figure out what the thing actually was. Doctor Doom and Luminous both escaping was never a good thing at all, the two of them were really dangerous and she didn't want to see others suffer from those two either.

Cassandra started to install the rotors and propellers into the drone, and started to run a test to see if the instruments were all working properly. "Well hopefully we'll learn more from this guy." Cassandra said as she stood up holding what looked like an RC controller with a screen attached to it. "Lets fly her on through." Cass said, she thought this was the safest route to do she didn't want herself or her team to step through at all. As Cass looked at the screen she couldn't see the weird portal thing itself through the camera which was really weird to her though she could see the thing in person. She started to fly the drone through until it disappeared from sight. As soon as it went through the signal went completely dead. Cass let out an annoyed groan as she tried to get the signal back, even going as far as to shake the controller and checked the batteries, they were completely fine moments ago. "Well we lost the signal.." Cass said letting out a sigh as she set the controller down.

"Well looks like we lost probably a thousand dollar drone down the drain." Maria said teasingly, as she leaned herself up against a nearby wall, ocasionally looking at the strange anomaly itself. Maria took a few steps forward to get a better look at the strange thing itself, she wondered what was actually on the other side of this thing and was tempted to find out what it actually was. Maria stood up and stretched slightly letting out a yawn as she looked between Niah and Raynor.

Even they didn't know what exactly that thing was, Maria took a moment to fix her hair getting a bit of an idea. "We could like write a letter and attatch it to an arrow it to an arrow and see if we can get a response from that?" Maria suggested looking over at the others for their own input. She wasn't sure what or who was on the other side of the strange portal either.

A spectrum of color reflected off the one way visor and ashen gray metallic mask that Celestine wore while peering silently at the cosmic anomaly in front of her and the rest of the squad. She found that it held a sort of mysterious beauty, while at the same time appearing ominous and threatening. The whole situation in fact, left Celestine with an ominous and uncomfortable feeling, which she expected at least a few of the others also mirrored. At first, she merely observed the scene before them, but then decided to speak. "I actually have a few questions I would like to ask." began Celestine, speaking in a voice that held a heavy Russian accent. "First off, all of the damage that was caused to The Raft, was it a result of this anomaly or perhaps sabotage from some sort of outside force? Secondly, The Raft should have twenty four hour surveillance if I am not mistaken? Perhaps checking the footage if it is still intact could prove beneficial. Thirdly, what do we do if something, let us say a horrific monster from another dimension comes through that? Does Shield have a first contact protocol?"

There was a momentary pause to let the questions settle in before Celestine added, with a bit of lightheartedness in the tone of her voice, "I am so very much more of a Star Wars person than Star Trek, but I do have an idea." Reaching into the satchel upon her left hip, she pulled out a small tracking bolt that was meant to be fired from a pistol, and twirled it between three fingers before tossing it into the portal. In her left hand, her data-pad showed that all signal had been lost, as if ceasing to exist. "Well, that certainly does not bode well, in my personal and unbiased opinion. These can be tracked to pinpoint a location from quite a distance away so anyone's guess as to why it lost tracking is as good as mine. What are our current options at the moment?" said Celestine as she slipped her data-pad back into the satchel, then looked around at her fellow squad members.

Flynn wasn't too thrilled with being out and about at the Raft. The fact that Luminous had escaped was a bad situation (he did remember their last interactions after all even though it seemed like forever ago now). Though Doom was not exactly someone you really wanted out and about on the loose either. Nothing was making sense, and the swirling glowing red portal seemed odd, it definitely wasn't something that was supposed to be naturally occurring, that was for sure. Though this was way out of what he really knew about, so he wasn't too sure what all was up with it.

"So... Let me get this straight... We don't know what it is, sending drones and other objects into it have resulted in nothing and no new information... Sound about right?" he asked the others, looking around at all of them. They knew absolutely nothing about the swirly portal looking thing (honestly, the others were making the comments about how it looked like something out of Star Trek, but it reminded him of video games or whatever more honestly), and had no explanation for what had happened with Luminous or Doom. This totally was going to end well.

Sparky was looking at the portal as others were commenting. She was sort of just looking at it, as something definitely was off, the feeling of it was strange, it seemed almost familiar to her in a way, but she wasn't sure why. She was pulled out of her thoughts by Raynor asking her if it was electrical, "Hm? Oh, uh no... It clearly isn't electricity based, and as Niah said, it's more similar to that Quantum Realm portal from a while back than anything, if you want something that is at least similar or comparable to it... That's just sort of my thoughts on it..."

It would be somewhat obvious that her mind was sort of off somewhere else, and not exactly focused on what exactly the swirly portal thing was. "...Why does it seem familiar?" she mused out loud, before almost subconsciously as if she was drawn to it, she reached out and touch the portal. Her eyes grew wide when it seemed to grow larger for a moment, and it swallowed all of them. They'd all find themselves in what looked like Times Square, but there were dozens of drones flying around in the sky, and the people on the streets were wearing some weird implant things on the side of their head. Posters hanging would stand out easily, REGISTER. IT IS YOUR CIVIC DUTY.” or “BEGINNER POWER CLASSES - GET YOUR LICENSE!” and “WANTED FOR CRIMES AGAINST THE IRON - THE X-MEN” they all said, and they'd also see a group of wanted posters. A few faces stood out to her on the posters, namely those belonging to Flynn, Maria and Raynor. "...Okay, this is really weird..."

Oliver Sullivan

Oli was excited. A thing that wouldn't show up in pictures and was beyond the description of experts from so many different branches of science? This was a once in the lifetime experience, something truly marvelous. "I am gonna go off on a limb and say I can't hack it, absolutely not a computer." Oliver quipped. Oliver briefly had a rush of temptation to touch it, and then he realized now absolutely awful of an idea that was. It would probably end up being the "Open the door on the moon" situation all over again, and Oli was very big on never making the same mistake twice.

Oli looked over the impossible thing in front of him, and just was in awe. He knew nothing about it, but he wasn't really prepared to either. For as smart as he was, he just wasn't a man of the physical. His mind briefly flashed to the fact that Luminious, the speedster he was obstensibly dating in the nightmare Niah and he shared, was involved in this, and he was excited to see what she was actually like. Even if she was evil, he hasn't met much in the way of other speedsters, and was curious about how they would match up. It was shortly after that, that they were consumed by the portal. Blinking, he looked at the world around him, and instantly assumed this was some sort of demon bear situation, but waited to see if any others had ideas before saying anything.

Raynor had to do his best to stifle his laughter at Maria's suggestion of throwing a letter through the portal and hoping someone on the other end would throw a response back. He bit down hard on the inside of his cheeks, as he had been trying to be less of an asshole, especially now that his daughter had been born. Still though, he just loved that everyone was trying to come up with these high tech solutions and Maria just wanted to... tie a piece of paper to a glorified stick, chuck it through, and hope that Doctor Doom would write a cordial reply and send the arrow on back. "What do you do if someone fires the arrow back? Or if Doom and Luminous decide to just not reply?" Raynor asked her, his eyes dancing with mirth even as he restrained his giggles.

"I think if a monster comes through the portal, we see if it's friendly and if it isn't, we do our thing?" Amelia suggested. She didn't know about Raft surveillance and whatnot, or who had caused the damage. All of those things would have been in the mission file given to Cass (yes, there was surveillance footage and partially, the majority of the damage had been caused by the inmates attempting to escape). "...Do monsters usually end up coming through weird swirly things?" she then added. She hadn't fought a monster before, but the more experienced members of this team seemed to have fought just about everything by now.

Bonnie bit her lip, perturbed by the fact that all of the devices thrown through the portal had lost signal. That didn't bode well. If there was nothing on the other side, maybe Luminous and Doom had more or less committed suicide unintentionally in the escape. However, they couldn't just assume that - they couldn't risk letting Luminous and Doom go free to terrorize people. Between the two of them, they could likely pose a serious challenge to the full Avengers line-up. The Secret Warriors had enough trouble with Luminous on her own and the Fantastic Four regularly struggled to defeat Doom. "Wait, Sparky, d-," Bonnie began to warn, before the portal suddenly widened and engulfed them all. The light was blindingly intense and Bonnie felt like she was free falling - she could hear Amelia let out a slight woot of excitement, probably from the adrenaline - and then suddenly, her feet hit solid ground.

EARTH 257 - 9:10 AM Nov. 13th, 2021 - Times Square, the Iron

Small drones littered the sky. It looked like they were in Times Square, with the electronic billboards displaying harrowing messages: "REGISTER. IT IS YOUR CIVIC DUTY.” “BEGINNER POWER CLASSES - GET YOUR LICENSE!” “WANTED FOR CRIMES AGAINST THE IRON - THE X-MEN." On the last one, three familiar faces would have their images displayed - Raynor, Maria, and Flynn. The group would be able to pick out a few others, although they weren't anyone on their team: a girl with claws like Wolverine, a boy covered in eyeballs, a man made entirely out of steel, a fuzzy blue elf/demon hybrid, a teenaged boy with pink hair, and a man with dreadlocks. Times Square was fairly crowded, with people walking around with strange metallic implants in the side of their face.

"Woah... Where the bloody hell are we?" Amelia asked, her eyes alight with wonder. She then glanced down at the ground and saw the drone, as well as the bolt Celestine had thrown. Amelia knelt down and picked up the bolt. "We didn't, like, miss a bunch of stuff right?" she asked. The posters and billboards made no sense to her, especially the drones and the weird implants. It was like they had been dropped into some sort of futuristic society.

Bonnie felt strangely calm for the bizarre surroundings. They had seen and done a lot of crazy things. Suddenly finding a transformed New York City with Big Brother style surveillance and ads for the arrest of her fiancé... it didn't shock her as much as it once could have. Her mind was working quickly as her eyebrows furrowed, coming up with a hypothesis. Maybe this was the future, but the images of Flynn and Maria looked like they could've been taken days ago. "Raynor... You've traveled between worlds before," Bonnie stated. It wasn't a question.

Raynor nodded, looking as white as a sheet. "This... This is my home. We need to run, now, before they come for us."

It was disorienting. Niah hadn't been listening to the conversation since she had been focusing on her sight and couldn't hear. Suddenly she was standing in what looked like Times square. But things weren't right. She glanced around and saw a newspaper stand and caught the date. It was the same day as when they had left. That led to reason that where they were ran at the same time as them. They were in an alternate world.

"Not again." She dropped her super sight and looked at Oli, at least he was here. At least the group as a whole had been brought together. Whenever they split up the world was in more danger. She had dropped her super sight just in time to hear Bonnie and Raynor speak. She turned and looked at Raynor. Things clicked a little in her head leaving more questions than before. "Alright, where can we even go?

Matt wasn't certain if he was in a shoot first ask questions later camp or not. Though he had a feeling he'd at least ICER something that came through the creepy swirling vortex. That felt like some fae shit to him and he did not want to get involved in anything to do with them, if they existed. And in this world who knew. "What do you mean familiar?" he asked Sparky. He knew she had been in the Quantum Realm for a while, was it related. The question didn't matter though. Sparky touched the vortex and the whole group was swept up into it.

Matt reached out to Cass to make sure she was there. Once he reassured himself they were all on the other side, in Times Square apparently. He frowned. He looked at Raynor really confused. "I don't understand." Matt sighed giving up. Whatever had just happened was beyond his comprehension. It wasn't that Matt isn't smart, this just was outside anything he had experienced.

Cassandra Reed

Cassandra turned to look over at celestine asking a few questions, she had looked over the mission files and seen some of the security footage. "The damage to the raft was mainly caused by the various powered prisoners that we have stored here. And the footage showed that both Dr. Doom and Luminous two of the most highly dangerous individuals escaped through the anomaly." Cassandra said as she went and set down the controller back into it's case.

"If it's friendly we will try and make contact on the other side, if it's anyone or anything hostile we take it out." Cass said to both Celestine and Amelia, seeing as both ways to find out whats on the other side had lost contact she wasn't really sure what to do next. "I'll contact Directors Maria Hill and Nick Fury on what to do next." Cass said as she was about to take her phone out to call them when Sparky decided to touch it, getting blinded by a bright flash of light. When she was able to see Cass stumbled a little bit on the solid ground and looked around she took a moment and looked around. She realized that they were all in Times Square somehow and noticed the various drones flying in the air, as well as the civilians all wearing some sort of implant. She felt Matt's hand and looked towards him and gave a slight smile.

Cassandra noticed the various wanted posted plastered everywhere now seeing three members of their team on there it slightly reminded her of the House of M reality that Wanda had made. She had to agree with Raynor that they needed to get out of the area as he answered Bonnie's question. She looked around and spotted stairs to the subway system, millions of New Yorkers used them on a daily basis that would at least give them a little bit of cover. "The Subway system, we should head there, and Raynor brief us on everything that you know of this place on the way." She said as she quickly made her way towards the subway stairs.

Maria Novikova

Location: The Raft -> Times Square - Earth 257

Maria turned to look at Raynor and shrugged slightly, they were relying on high tech solutions she thought that something a lot more simpler would work a lot better. "You could always send out light signals for both Doom and Luminous to get their attention, i'm sure that your lovely personality would attract them to us." Maria quipped back towards Raynor teasingly, they started to have this little rivalry thing going after both Diana and Zarina were born. "Also neither of them would be invited to Diana's Sweet Sixteen birthday party for not replying back."

Maria listened to the others talking as Cassandra spoke a bit more, when Sparky reached out to touch the portal for some reason, and quickly shielded her eyes. Before landing in New York City's Times Square, she looked around seeing the drones flying in the air and people having some weird cybernetic implant on the sides of their heads. "Okay why are we in the New York version of Night City?" Maria asked, making a reference to the game Cyberpunk 2077 that came out, and was super hyped but ended up flopping due to the amount of bugs in the game.

Maria then spotted a wanted poster of herself, Raynor and Flynn along with several others that she didn't really recognize looking over at everyone else. "So worse thing I did was get a DUI, and crashing into someone's fence when I was in my last year of high school." Maria said as Cass pointed out to the subway nearby that they could hide in, hearing Raynor that he was actually from here was surprising to her. she was tempted to ask him what he did but decided against it she quickly made her way towards the stairs as well luckily there wasn't anyone who had spotted her from the posters.

(Blackbird of Chernobyl)

"Perhaps reaching out and getting closer to the anomaly is not the best idea for the moment?" Celestine managed to say as she reached out with her left hand, attempting to place it upon Sparky's right shoulder. Unfortunately, the hand did not make contact, and before she could say anything else, the world around her suddenly changed. There had been a blinding light, followed by the feeling of free falling, then suddenly finding herself standing somewhere. It took a few short seconds for the disorienting stun to ware off from whatever had happened, but when it did, Celestine found herself standing in a very different looking Times Square than the one she was used to. Drones flew overhead, monitors displaying propaganda shown all round them, and most concerning was the images that showed clearly mutated individuals that were wanted. "Has anyone else noticed the implants or something of the sort on the side of these peoples heads?" asked Celestine through her helmets coms, keeping a keen eye on her surroundings as much as she possibly could.

The Blackbird of Chernobyl was tempted to engage her active camouflage but decided to use that in an emergency, worried it would draw even more unwanted attention to the squad. Moving to Amelia's side, Celestine would carefully take the bolt from her hands and placed it back inside of the satchel upon her left hip. "My HUD is informing me that the tracking-bolt is now tracking, good to know it works here." commented Celesinte mostly to herself. She then turned to Raynor and raised an eyebrow at the comment about this place being his home, "That will need some explaining later, but for the moment, I agree we need to find somewhere to hide, to move unnoticed, but is the subway usually not very busy as well?"

Flynn wasn't too sure what to expect, but in his opinion reaching out and touching the swirly thing wasn't a good idea. At least how he saw things, but he didn't get time to really say anything as the instant Sparky touched the portal and they all ended up getting dragged into the area. Glancing around, it took a moment for him to figure out where they were, and that they were in New York, which was really really weird, but okay? Nothing too strange, that is, until he actually got a good look around and saw all of the insane things that were going on. And his face, on a wanted poster.

"Uhhh... Okay, is anyone else seriously weirded out by all of this?" Flynn asked the others, "And why are we on a wanted poster?" he added towards Maria more specifically. Of course, Raynor apparently knew exactly where they were, and apparently that it was not the best place to be standing in the middle of Times Square, and he couldn't help but agree with that. He followed after Maria, slipping to the subway stairs, really really hoping to not get recognized for apparently whatever it was that he had gotten in trouble with law enforcement for? Flynn still wasn't too sure what was going on with that...

She was confused, and that was putting everything lightly. So that had been... A portal to another world or reality or something? Yeah, she had been to the Quantum Realm, but that portal had been different from that one. Matt's question as to why it was familiar stuck out in her mind, and she kept asking that to herself. Why? Why was it so familiar to her? She'd never been to an alternate reality (unless you technically counted the Quantum Realm and as stated before, that portal was different) so why did this thing seem so familiar to her? Raynor clearly knew what was going on, which also was something she really needed to ask him about that. But, her mind was still trying to figure out what was going on.

"...I don't know why that portal was familiar... I don't know where we are, or anything like that. This is all new to me, that portal wasn't quite like the Quantum Realm portal, and the one thing I do know is that that had nothing to do with why it seemed familiar... Cause that easily would have stood out. That was something completely different..." she explained somewhat softly, though it would be fairly obvious that she was insanely confused. Her attention turned to Raynor when he kept saying about them needing to get off the streets, or that he was from this reality. She thought to ask for him to explain, but she wasn't too sure she'd get a straight answer honestly.

Oliver Sullivan

Location: The Raft -> Times Square (257)
Skills: N/A

Oliver reeled at the world around him, especially as Raynor confirmed that it was his home one. He'd been told before by the Asgardian that they used some kind of neural implant in place of cell phones, and ever since learning about them, he'd dreamed of getting to see one in person. That being said, there were more important feelings than unabashed elation to be had, namely the fear Raynor was feeling, though Oli had no insight into what could be causing it. Pulling out his phone, his eyebrows raised in surprise at the fact that he had signal. His head quickly narrowed down a mental list of "How the hell the multiverse worked" considerably, at least having faith that this meant that the laws of physics mostly worked the same here as they did back home.

It was everything Oliver had in him not to google himself and find out who he was in the world, but he figured research on the lives of all of them could be done after they got somewhere safe. Oliver nodded at the subway suggestion, "Yeah, that's where I'd go. My big concern would be getting our faces caught on cameras there, given that three of you have wanted posters." He muttered, as he pulled out his phone and started trying to loop the feed on the nearby subway, before blinking, surprised at what he was seeing. He'd hacked enough Stark systems before to recognize Tony's handiwork, and he exhalled. "Great, now two Starks are gonna want me in the raft." He said, rubbing his forehead, and slipping his phone into his pocket. Walking close to Niah, he breathed in, not having much to say, but wanting to be near her if something went down.

EARTH 257 - 9:20 AM Nov. 13th, 2021 - Times Square, the Iron

"On everything I know about this reality?" Raynor asked - as panicked as he was, he was still a bit of a grump. "I think I'd rather just give you the highlights, but we don't have time for that. If we don't move, they'll send SWORD's Iron Legion. Shit, the fucking AI probably already sent them." Raynor hated this place and its over reliance on technology. He wasn't scared of the Iron Legion capturing him though - he was more scared of what Sparky and the others might learn about him - about the uncovering of his greatest lie.

Raynor hurried down to the stairs descending into the subway. What he saw at the bottom of the stairs made his heart stand still. They were using DNA scanning technology. That was new. They hadn't had that the last time he had been there. If the drones hadn't already flagged him, then the DNA scanner definitely would. There weren't many Asgardians who visited the Iron - and hardly any Asgardians who would particularly want to. "Shit, DNA scanners, we're fucked. We're absolutely fucking screwed," Raynor said, before letting out a nervous laugh. He looked like he was about to have a breakdown. "Why is this happening..." he murmured, shaking his head slightly.

"Oi, mate, in through ya nose and out ya mouth," Amelia advised, noticing how Raynor looked like he was about to pass out. She didn't know what exactly was going on with him, but she knew a panic attack when she saw one. Loads of rookie pilots would start acting like this before their first trick and stunt flights - never Amelia though. Her enthusiasm overrode most fear she would've felt in situations like that. The only time she had ever experienced crippling anxiety had been during a standardized test - as in, the sort of test using pen and paper, rather than relying on her intuition and skill as a pilot.

"Whatever it is, someone here can figure it out. We got so many techies we could open up our own Genius Bar at an Apple Store," Amelia added, before smiling at Raynor. He didn't seem to be calming down at all. She didn't know very much about him, but if this was his home world, maybe he was having family issues or something. There had been loads of weirdness surrounding him and his family when she met him on Asgard. "Right? One of you lot outta be able to shimmy our way past a scanner?" she then asked, looking at the rest of the group.

"...What did you do, Raynor?" Bonnie asked him, her eyes narrowing slightly. She had never gotten along with him particularly well. And the way he was reacting, it wasn't normal. She had never seen Raynor so completely scared. And while she knew that realities could in theory be much different, she didn't imagine that Raynor would be the victim in this world. Her gut was telling her that he had done something, that he had done something huge. The logical decision would have been to part ways from him, to leave him to his fate - but things with teammates weren't logical.

"It's a long story," Raynor said, nervously laughing again.

"When we get to safety, you're going to tell us. Do you know anywhere we can hide once we get through this checkpoint?" Bonnie asked. "Any contacts?" They needed to make a move on soon though. People were beginning to stop and stare at them, whispering as to why there was a gaggle of people in tactical gear avoiding going through the DNA scanners.

"... Yeah, I know some people," Raynor said hesitantly.

Cassandra Reed

Location: The Raft -> Times Square - Earth 257
Skills: Engineering, Computers, Computer Coding.

Cassandra looked towards Celestine for a moment, asking if the subway was a good idea or not due to the amount of people there, sometimes having a large clueless crowd be really helpful if you wanted to try and blend in. As well as various maintenance tunnels and whatnot as well that they could try and get into. "Sometimes having a huge crowd helps blend in plus there's a lot of places you could loose someone's trail." Cass said as she looked towards the bottom of the stairwell just as Raynor pointed out the DNA scanner, and him telling them a little bit. She wasn't sure what SWORD was or the Iron Legion either. She did have to agree with the others that they needed to learn more about this reality.

"I'll try and get into it, just give me a little bit of time." Cassandra said as she pulled out her tablet she kept on her just in case they needed someone to hack into, she was a computer major from MIT after all. She approached the DNA scanner and then found a spot to plug it into. She started to work on getting into the system, she was getting pretty close thinking that she was able to get in before being locked out. "Damn it i'm locked out.." She said noticing the crowd was looking at them, before standing up, looking over at the others. "I'm going to try and see if it works." She said as she stepped through and nothing happened, looking over towards Oliver and Sparky. "Maybe you two will have a better chance at it?" She said, Raynor, Maria and Flynn would be the major issue to get past if they weren't able to get in.

Maria Novikova

Location: The Raft -> Times Square - Earth 257
Skills: N/A

Maria looked towards Raynor who was having a mental breakdown of sorts in front of them as she watched Cassandra going down and try and hack into the DNA scanner system. Amelia was suggesting breathing exercises she wasn't sure if it would calm down Raynor or not as Maria pulled out her phone and started to pull up a video she had taken. After the whole Skrull invasion she decided to adopt one of the little Flerken kittens.

"Just relax Raynor we'll be back home before you know it." Maria said trying to cheer him up, while gently resting a hand on his shoulder and noticing the crowd starting to form, Maria quickly turned to face the wall hoping that they wouldn't be able to ID her. She decided against showing the video though as she slipped it back into her pocket. "Maybe you should try and call whoever you know and see if they are willing to help us out?" Maria suggested to him she wasn't sure if they could be trusted, but if Raynor trusted them then that would be fine thats if he would be able to get a hold of them.

Niah followed the group into the subway walking near Oli. "This universe's Stark is in charge of camera security?" Niah asked. She frowned considering what that meant for them. If he was working with Big Brother that lowered their options of possible allies in this world. They would have to assume that the Avengers here were part of whatever overlord group...she supposed the Iron Legion as that was what Raynor was saying would come to pick them up. Great, she sighed. Part of her wanted to split the group and have those with a target on their heads go in different directions. But they were stronger together. Hopefully, her own life here wasn't anything to speak of so she wouldn't completely ruin it. Though it was likely Dalisy here was already gone (dead or part of Dalisy Prime's army), which meant her counterpart was dealing with the fall out of that.

She looked at Sparky confused. Then looked at Raynor. She knew she wasn't the only one who knew that Sparky was Lance Banner from another universe. Novi had said as much back in Australia what felt like a million years ago. Had Novi not told Sparky what she had seen?

"Hey, um. Sparky, you talked to Novi since like...Christmas right?" Niah had expected that Novi would explain. They were best friends. Novi had once brought the world to ruin just to save Sparky and she hadn't told her 'hey btw you're from a different reality'.

"Yes, weirded out. Yes, confused. I would like an explanation of what is going on in terms this non-science officer can understand, please? I get we aren't home. I don't understand what this place is or how the glowing thing sent us here." Matt was honestly pretty lost about what was going on. He followed the group down to the subway. The strange tech, the wanted posters. Raynor was calling this place his home.

He looked to Cass hoping she could explain. He normally was pretty smart, though among this group he was very clearly not the smartest and had no hope of ever being which was fine by him. He understood the basics. They had somehow been transported to some extra high-tech version of the world. He looked at Niah really confused when she asked Sparky if she had spoken to Novi recently. Of course, she had what did that have to do with being in a different world. He supposed any sort of explanation was only going to come from Raynor though as he was the only one who knew where they were.

(Blackbird of Chernobyl)

While Raynor had a mental breakdown and a few of the others attempted to calm him down, Celestine drew in her surroundings, noticing that they were drawing more attention than what was apparently normal. With every moment that passed, her concern grew, eventually it reached the point of where her inaction was causing more harm than good. Taking the initiative, The Blackbird of Chernobyl reached out to the nearby DNA scanners, attempting to momentarily mask their passage. Progress was being made, but then suddenly lost, the systems changed, as if someone on the other side of the technology was actively fighting back against her presence. Opening her coms, she informed the team of what just happened, "I tried masking our movements through the DNA scanners, but something is preventing me from doing so. This is concerning, perhaps we have already been discovered?

There was a short pause while Celestine thought of their options before speaking once more. "We can not skip out from the DNA scanners sadly, if we avoid them it will look very suspicious, but on the other end of the coin if we go through them they will record our DNA and may cause more trouble for us in the future. I give us around a minute before trouble shows up? So we should make a choice on our next course of action, I vote the subways and unfortunately passing through the scanners." As soon as she stopped speaking, her helmets HUD started to flash, and a message showed up in the right hand side of it. The message was mostly corrupted, but one word did stand out, RAGNAROK. "Oh, okay that is not good..." commented The Blackbird of Chernobyl into the teams coms, under her breath.

Everyone seemed to be having different thoughts or issues on the situation. Though Raynor essentially sitting there and having a bit of a mental breakdown over this situation was, interesting. The guy seemed to be freaking out more than a bit, and that was not exactly something that happened, that much he did know for sure. Of course, Bonnie questioning Raynor about what happened or what exactly he had done had caused his brain to go along that way too. "I'm in the camp of you telling us more about this place later, just not right now since sounds like we have a whole bunch of issues that kind of need addressing, like getting away from here."

Of course, he was really starting to wonder what his counterpart had done to end up on the same sort of wanted poster as Raynor. That was something interesting to think about, and it made him wonder what exactly Maria had done too. He wasn't going to bring this up though, at least not at the moment really. Everything about this world just sounded bad, and he wasn't exactly too thrilled about Bonnie being in this reality for the sole reason that everything was crazy, and people were talking about going through the scanner or whatever it was, but from what he gathered, him, Maria or Raynor going through would be a bad idea. So how exactly were they supposed to deal with that then?

Location: Subway

Sparky wandered along to the subway, and seeing Raynor seemingly having a bit of a breakdown, she instantly went to standing right next to him. "Ray? Are you okay?" she asked him softly, a few others were more or less asking questions currently about things, but she figured that now was definitely not the time for that sort of thing. They had other things that they needed to worry about. "It'll be alright Ray, you'll see..." she added to him with a bit of a smile, before turning her attention towards Niah and her question about Novi.

"Of course I've talked to Novi recently, why would I not have?" she asked her, clearly confused by the question, before she turned her attention towards the scanners, and what Celestine was saying about how they might not have a choice but to go through the scanners if they wanted to get away. Not to mention they were starting to draw some attention. As soon as Oliver had mentioned another Stark, she shook her head, "I don't think we'll have much more luck trying to get past the system, that's just me. I'm not a hacker type, at least not really, so I'm not sure if it would be worth it. However, we are starting to draw a bit of a crowd, so I suggest that we might want to get moving..." Sparky said, before she stepped through the scanners and nothing happened still. "We need to get moving, since we might run into more trouble or something the longer we stand around..."

Oliver Sullivan

Times Square (257) -> Subway
Skills: Molecular Oscillation

Oli rubbed his temples, and thought about he situation in front of them. He made the logical jump that, if the subway camera system was Stark tech, these probably were too, and he would almost certainly have a lot of trouble hacking into it. However, he did have another approach in mind. He didn't know how these scanner worked, but he knew that, whatever they were doing, it came down to something physically interacting with their bodies, and if that was the case, then the same trick he used to phase through floors could potentially be used to override this system, and keep their DNA from being registered.

Taking a moment, Oli explained, "I have an idea, if everyone takes my hand and believes really hard, I might be able to vibrate our bodies at a frequency that the scanners won't be able to read us at." He said, realizing that he sounded an awful lot like a pseudoscience Facebook page, but he was at least eighty percent sure this was possible, and confidence was the other twenty percent. Then, taking the hands of everyone who would do this with him, he closed his eyes and centered himself. The way his powers worked mechanically was still largely a mystery to him, but there was just something deep within him that knew and understood what he had to do, that guided him towards the impulses and frequencies he needed to do this. For a moment, a small pulse went through everybody, before going off again, and again, over and over until there was a small but constant twinge of energy flowing through each of them. Leading them all through the scanner, once all were through, Oli let go of them all, and expected the oscillation to end naturally for himself, but he still felt it. His eyes grew wide, and he experimentally knelt down, and dipped his hand into the floor. "Um, slight complication guys..." He said, a bit in awe at his new state.

EARTH 257 - 9:30 AM Nov. 13th, 2021 - Times Square, the Iron

"I'm fine, Sparks, really," Raynor lied. He winced as Cass walked past the DNA scanners. He knew the Iron and he was certain that the recording of a new piece of DNA would raise alarm bells - especially from a mutant. Neither the Iron or the Blue had been openly hostile to mutants twenty years ago, but after what the X-Men had done... Raynor would've been surprised if things hadn't changed. He honestly expected that the Iron would be at war with Genosha - or that Genosha would have long since been blown to smithereens. He laughed nervously as Maria suggested he call someone he knew for help. "They're probably all dead. And if they aren't, setting foot in the Iron would be even worse for them."

He didn't even expect that his cousin would be alive back in New Asgard - the woman who had practically raised him after his parents had died. New Asgard made the Blue look tame when it came to casual violence and a lack of laws, with fights to the death being a regular occurrence. His cousin could've easily died in one of those. Somehow, he doubted that Ragnarok's final stage had been fulfilled in his brief absence - his parents were still dead, his father unreturned to co-rule Asgard.

"Stark's the President of the Iron - well, not elected, but still," Raynor then added, more or less answering Niah's question. Raynor remembered when Howard Stark founded the Iron after the Great Schism - and he remembered when any pretense of democracy was more or less killed when his son, Anthony, assumed power.

Bonnie tilted her head, a bit confused as to why Niah was bringing up Novikova. Of course Sparky had talked to her - both of them had more or less become mothers at the same exact time? She had no idea what Niah could be getting at with this. She also didn't think now was the time to bring up any friendship drama or just idle conversation. They needed to be focused, they were in a world that wasn't their own, and the only one who knew what was going on was Raynor and he had lost his cool. "Can this conversation wait, Niah, Sparky?" Bonnie requested.

"I mean if we're really worried, then you stick out like a sore fucking thumb," Raynor commented nervously, gesturing at Celestine. "Tron doesn't exist in my world, so you can't even be a cosplayer."

"Oh I love Tron!" Amelia chimed in. She knew it wasn't the most helpful of comments, but all of the science and hacking stuff was beyond her. She couldn't help with the DNA scanner, but she could do her best to keep team moral up. Raynor still looked like an anxious mess, but he was acting snippy as well, which Amelia took as a good sign - he was acting more like his adorable grumpy self. "The chick in that movie is sooo cool. I tried to cut my hair like hers as a kid. It did nooot work out very well."

Oliver then phased the rest of them on through the scanners, and given the lack of red flashing lights, Amelia assumed that they made it through okay. Her eyes widened though when Oliver explained that he couldn't stop phasing. "Oh bloody hell!" she exclaimed, instantly trying to reach out and touch her bestie, but her hand just went straight through him. "Okay, stay calm, we're going to fix this, ya aren't going to spend the rest of your life as some sort of ghost man."

Bonnie bit her lip, trying to think of cases of people remaining intangible before that she had seen, but only one came to mind. She had seen an old SHIELD file on a young girl who progressively became more and more intangible. The file never indicated if there had been any successful treatment routes, but given the lack of information... Bonnie had assumed the worst. "Can you make it on the train?" Bonnie asked.

The train had arrived, the automatic doors opening up. Passengers were stepping off of the train, and given that it was a subway train, they'd have less than a minute to decide if they were getting on or off.

"...I don't know why they aren't here yet... I've got a bad feeling about this..." Raynor muttered, as he boarded the train.

Cassandra Reed

Location: Times Square, Subway Station - Earth 257
Skills: N/A.

Cassandra looked towards Niah and Sparky when Niah started to bring up Novikova she shook her head slightly this wasn't really the time to actually talk about stuff like this right now. "Once we get someplace safe we can talk about whatever you all need to." Cass said sighing slightly as she watched Oliver starting to use his powers to phase the rest of the team through the DNA scanner. Everyone seemed to be fine now and didn't hear any alarms going off which she assumed was a good thing. But when Oliver couldn't turn back to his normal state that was a bit troubling.

She remembered reading through Celestine's file, and noted that one of her powers was technopathy and started to think of something if Oliver couldn't get onto the subway then they would need to find an alternate route. She quickly handed her tablet over to Celestine. "You have a technopathy ability right? We may need an alternate route if Oliver isn't able to get on, if you can use your powers and can get schematics of the subway system. Find anything from maintenance tunnels or any subway lines that aren't in use right now, or even any kind of way to get into the sewer system from here to." Cass suggested, if they ended up getting into a fight then they would need to find a way to get away and loose them to.

She did have to agree with Raynor that they all did stick out like a sore thumb wearing their SHIELD uniforms and tactical gear she wasn't sure what kind of currency they had. "We all stick out like a sore thumb pretty much we may need a change of clothes at some point to if we can get someplace safe." Cassandra said but that would be a problem that they'd have to worry about a little bit later they had other problems right now.

Maria Novikova

Location: Times Square, Subway Station - Earth 257
Skills: N/A

Maria looked towards Niah wondering why she was bringing up her wife. "Yeah kinda agree that now isn't a good time about my wife, she's doing great as well as Diana by the way to if you were wondering." Maria said as she felt Oliver grabbing her and then the others, as they all started to phase through the DNA scanner which felt kind of weird to her phasing through it. She was glad that the alarms hadn't gone off she at least hoped that there weren't any silent alarms that were triggered. "You'll be fine just try and take a deep breathe maybe and try to relax and maybe that will fix things?" Maria said to Oliver.

Maria watched as the tram came to a stop and people started to pile out of the cars, she looked towards Oliver she wasn't sure if he'd be able to get on or just end up phasing through the floor. Which didn't really sound a lot of fun as she heard Raynor speaking and shook her head slightly. "Did you have to make a Star Wars reference?" Maria asked him as she started to make her way towards the subway tram, they didn't really have a whole lot of time.
