Bane nodded and said “agreed. Serena needs not to move for a at least a night. We can’t risk her safety like this…” John nodded and said “ya, sounds like a plan. I’d rather not sit in a car after all of this…Kay, you handled this pretty well”

Sam and Kay both nodded at Bane's words, Sam feeling rather thankful that they agreed not to go back to wherever they lived straight away. "then it's settled, two of you can have the spare room and two will have to use these couches tonight if that's alright with you guys." Sam replied.

Kay glanced upwards at John as she was still eating against his shoulder and couldn't stop the small smile from appearing on her lips as he complimented her." thanks, think Fee did the majority of the work but I'm glad I could help where I could. I just refused to lose either of you" she replied to him.

John looked at her and said “you came for us without any fear…you heard I was shot and didn’t panic. Fee did the magic part us but…you ran the fight and everything…”

Serena suddenly turned her head, starting to come around.

Kay looked back at him as he spoke back to her, "You flatter me by saying that John but truth was, I was scared shitless I was going to lose you...both of you. I didn't want to lose what I have just gained, that's why I did it. Adrenaline kicked in and when that mage went for you? It became personal for me, if someone comes for one of us, they come for all of us. You've given me something to fight for" she explained to him.

Sam listened, unable not to eavesdrop as they were all in the room, but when Serena turned, she saw it out the corner of her eye and looked across. "hey, welcome to the waking world sleeping beauty" she smiled.

Serena groaned and sat up slowly, holding her head. “Whoa…that hurt. What hit me…” John smiled and said “welcome back, we got hit with plants again…and I got shot” Bane chuckled and rested a hand on her head.

Kay was glad to see that Serena was coming round and was verbal again. She couldn't help but smile at how protective Bane was of her, "good to see you awake" she commented. "important thing now to think about is that it's all dealt with and everyone is okay" she added, wanting tor eassure Serena before she got too worried.

Sam then remembered the mess in the hallway by the front door and knew she needed to tidy up. "I'll leave you four to it, I'm gonna go clean up the hallway before the Mrs gets home" she smiled, heading out the living room.

Serena groaned and held her head, then said “I remember the space needle…how close did that nut job get…” Bane frowned and put his arm around her. “Close but nothing Kay and I couldn’t handle” Serena looked over at John who smiled and nodded.

Serena said softly “what time is it? I told josh I would call…crap how long ago was that?”

Kay looked at her phone to get the time after Serena asked for the time. "it's about three o clock, you haven't been out for long" she told her, as Sam went to do the clean up. She knew she should probably go and help her sister but after everything, she felt too wiped out to do so. She also far too comfortable against John to move.

Sam got into the hallway and started clearing up the mess that the mage created in her home. The bits that had broken she put to one side to throw away, and put the non broken things back where they came from.

Serena looked towards the hall and waved her hand slightly. Her shadows moved around Sam and helped her clean up, even fixing the pieces that had broken. Bane looked at Serena and said “are you sure your okay?” Serena nodded and started to dig for her phone. “I should have called hours ago…I don’t want to worry him…”

When the shadows came swirling around her and helped with the clean up, Sam got taken aback initially but then felt grateful for the help."thank you" she told the shadows as she continued to work.

"then give him a call now so he doesn't worry." Kay replied, glad that she was feeling okay but also noting how important Serena deemed calling Josh. "I'm sure he'll be fine once you explain things" she added, kicking her boots off and pulling her legs up onto the couch, causing her to cuddle more into John.

Kay sat up when Serena said she couldn't find her phone, having glanced around the living room to see if she could spot it, until John said it's probably still in the car. "I've still got the keys, I'll go look for it for you" she told Serena, standing up.

"I'll be right back" she said and as she pulled out the car keys from he. Rocket she walked out the living room, into the hallway where she told Sam what she was doing and went outside to the car. She unlocked the car and opened one door to lean in and start looking for Serena's phone.

Serena tried to get up saying she should help but bane pushed her back down and said “no more moving little one. I mean it” John nodded and said “his right, you got the worse of it and I got shot. Kay can find it then we will call the others and see how the day went” Serena sighed and muttered “I’m glad Trin wasn’t here…good call to stay with Chas this time…”

Rummaging round the front of the car, she found Serena's phone in the glove box and wriggled her way backwards to get out the car again, being careful not to hit her ehad on the roof of the car as she exited and then closed the door again, locking it up. Out of habit, she took a glance around her surroundings to make sure they were safe, which they were as far as she could see and headed back into the house.

She gave Sam another pat on the shoulder as she went and walked back into the living room, handing Serena her phone. "found it in the glove box. You must have put it in there when we did the pit stop at the services" she explained.

Serena sighed and took it saying “thanks…would have gone nuts losing this.” She pulled up her contacts and said “you calling Chas?” John groaned and covered his face with his hand. “His going to yell at me…”

Serena smiled and dialed Joshs number and hit call, then held it to her ear and waited.

John sighed and said “you call him Kay…his nice to you”

Josh felt his phone vibrate as he sat in the back of a cab heading back to Chas' place. Pulling hi sphone out he saw Serena's name flash up on the screen and instantly accepted the call, "hey, everything alright?" he asked.

Kay looked at John and Rose an eyebrow whilst smirking. "you pussy" she teased, pulling her phone out and finding Chas' number before clicking dial. She lifted the phone to her ear and listened as the phone rang a few times before she hesrd the familiar click of connection and Chas' voice came through. "hey Chas..... Yeah we're fine....we'll be staying at my Sam's for the night before we head back. John's fine, he got shot but he's fine now.... Yeah, that's why he's making me call you..." she glanced at John with an amused smirk.

"yeah okay, I'll put him on" she then replied and handle the phone to John, "he wants to talk with you" she told him.

John groaned and took the phone and muttered “should have let the wound not be healed…” he held the phone to his ear and said “hey buddy…how was your day with the kids?”

Serena smiled and said “hey…just figured you would want me to check in…everything is handled over here but we need to stay the night…we ran into a little trouble and…well, I…” she paused not sure how to tell him. Then she said “I got hurt. And kidnapped…and almost used in a summoning ritual…but everything is fine now. Just weak still from…getting attacked by vines and shocked and other…things…”

Kay rolled her eyes at John's muttering, letting him take the phone to talk with Chas. "I really can't leave you to do anything without me can I? You're lucky the others were with you John. And to answer your question, it's been fine. The girls are really getting on with each other. Kay says you're fine but I wanna hear it from you, are you okay?" Chas spoke to him.

Josh listened on the other end of the phone and wanted to go wide eyed at everything Serena was telling him, glad that Trish decided not to go with them if they got into that much trouble." we'll, you're safe now, that's the important thing. I'm glad you're okay, I would have been worried sick otherwise" he told her truthfully.

John sighed and said “yes…I was shot and shocked and attacked by demon plants but…everything is alright now. Kay fixed me right up, we saved Serena from a mad man and reunited Kay with her sister. All in a days work…”

Serena sighed and said “I’m sorry…if we had known I was the target…I don’t know how that would have changed. But I’m fine now and it’s…”she sighed and rubbed her face. “This is a lot harder then I thought…”

Chas sighed as he listened to the list of things that went wrong but were fixed. "I'm glad Kay managed to save your arse. I owe her a drink for that. I'm glad you're all okay now though." he replied.

Josh let her talk before he replied as he got out the cab, thanking the driver. "look, try not to stress about it now. You're okay now. But what's harder than you thought?" he replied as he walked up Chas' drive and knocked on the door.
