I was forced to go on hiatus. Hospital visits and lots of testing, taking care of my sister, tons of family shit, just a lot a lot. Life happened and I apologize, but if you guys are still willing or would like to continue or hopefully even possibly reboot this in a slightly different way and gather more players, I'd absolutely love to.

No problem. As for a reboot...It honestly depends on what you come up with and how I feel about it at the time. I might try and make a different character entirely. I'll have to see when the time comes. But feel free to tag me whenever you've got your thing.

I'm so sorry. I hope things turn out favorably, and there's really no need to apologize. I'd gladly join you again, in whatever configuration you'd prefer. Dark Continent does sound fun, especially given how badly those expeditions historically turn out. I do look forward to playing with you again sometime in the future, when things calm down and you feel up to it.

I'm really playing with the idea of the past y'all what do you guys think? I think possibly some scouting around, maybe everyone solo/in pairs carrying out some missions or various different things, kind of as a way to give everyone a chance to put their characters into some kind of action for previous intro/ extra context on them. Then we'll start out collecting everyone, gathering supplies & travel, an den boom! A long journey at sea, stopping at various different islands and different locations, possible ruins, then finally the Dark Continent!

Any opinions regarding that general gameplan, everyone?

Do you actually have a plan for the dark continent though? I have not caught up with the manga but I assume that since the place is too dangerous it just leads to 'seeing whats up there' and that just sounds like a rp that ends up being more and more monster of the week type roleplay. If I'm mistaken feel free to correct me but I feel it'd be a whole lot of just 'wow this place is neat' instead of 'I wonder what we need to do to stop the corrupt hunters', 'zoldyck assassin is trying to kill our friend', 'weird science experiment from some sort of mad man' or 'chimera ants attack' that you'd get in the setting from the main areas.

@ZxyxZemon I agree with Van on this. The Dark Continent sounds really interesting at first but Netero said it best in the manga. Everything is just big lmao.

I feel like the most interesting stuff would happen between groups or people. Maybe if we have a Bounty Mission with our targets fleeing to the Dark Continent. We do the beginning of gathering our folks, investigating the initial incident and history of our target, encounter some traps or “distractions” via target, and all of this leads up to the discovery of them escaping to the Dark Continent. Then we have to find some way to get there through the V5 or V6.

That could work, I think.

I like the idea of islands on the way there also being potential Arcs or storylines. We could create interesting “doomed” families or characters meant to incite a sense of duty in some of our more pragmatic characters lol. Cause I know Kagayaku would be willing to go if it meant solving his affliction or righting an injustice.

@vancexentan@Renny My plan was actually an expedition there to capture a band of extremely powerful Hunters, Troupe level if you will. Their motives are currently unknown, but intel has so far gathered that their purpose there is malevolent and could possibly lead to some very bad things, worldwide. The initial group members would be tasked with creating an A-Team of S-Rank Hunters to deal with this threat and expedition.

Another note, it's unknown to me whether or not it is official cannon, but it is at least highly speculated that Alluka possibly came from the DC. I also have a few solutions to the "everything is just big", and "monster of the week" situations. As virtually everything is unknown, I will be taking liberties. Not to give any spoilers, but humanoids and ruins, and even possibly scattered small nomadic tribes will possibly be worked into being present on DC. Nobody has gone there long enough to find out that, at one point in time or with sufficient information, there's not a way to live and survive there living the harshest of lifestyles.

This will also be a massive effort, as sponsorship and personal wealth dumped into resourcing are virtually unlimited. We will have access to help that of a war effort. Naval help, war contraptions, Nen Soldiers, ETC. Maybe even a special builder-man giving us nice toys and other means to help survive and defeat large entities.

Remember, we are making this expedition with the goal of locating this group of criminals, finding out why they are here, and gathering any potential resources we could bring back. We plan to be landing and essential start constructing bases of operations.

i mean you're the dm you do as you want i'm just saying that unless we head canon a lot the other continent will be full of considerably strong individuals if there are any at all ultimately you're the one who's going to be making the plot and running it.

@ZxyxZemon All that sounds like a good time lol. I'm thinking I might not repurpose Kagayaku. I MIGHT make someone new for this particular plot.

Wanted to inform everyone the HxH reboot is not a firm plan. In my time away I started working on an original idea I've had. Sort of like a Naruto/(light) Wuxia, with power scaling that reaches potentially up to DBZ type levels at the complete apex. It's focused on the art of Cultivation, Mystical Martial Arts & Techniques, different paths to power, and the like- it takes inspiration from some of the works I just mentioned above as well as a few others, and my own original ideas.

I may be going to post an interest check for this at some point as I'm developing it further. Depending on how that goes, I may or may not reboot this. Though a HxH RP will be in the chest box for future use for sure, regardless of what happens! People seemed a little divided on the whole DC plotline and possibly have lost some interest, which is understandable. Plus, I just want to work on something that is currently grabbing my attention firmly.

@ZxyxZemon Understandable, I've said this before but keeping people in the loop is a dope thing to do. When you make an interest thread for that original idea, I'd love to be tagged or even PM'd it just to see if it'd catch my attention. It certainly sounds awesome but details and a CS would help me better place my interest.
