@threetoads regarding her general aptitude, I think that's fine.
Regarding her powers, I'm not sure if you're limiting yourself here or what, just because it's very unique. How would it be usable in combat? How does she recover from overexerting herself if she can't sleep? And how much or what usage causes her dreams to be limited? Is it based on the size of the object, the utility of it, or something else?
I'm just trying to understand here so I can give the proper feedback.
I think it's a fun limitation to work with, not entirely sure where I want to take it yet but I suppose it's something to work out naturally in time? It's usable in combat via the ability to manifest melee weapons, shields, lockpicks...Whatever happens to be useful? I suppose you could argue it's very Green Lantern-y just with a considerable drawback and consequences. Of course she's not trained in martial arts or anything of the kind so at least at the stage where the story begins it would at best be very archaic 'street fighting' if that. But I can also imagine she could fit into some support scenarios by conjuring objects for others though this again, is limited and has drawbacks. Objects that do not have physical contact with her don't stay around for very long unless that's where she focuses her power and even then that's an exceptional 'exertion' at this stage, so something like conjuring pieces of armor for someone else in order to protect them could be life saving but not without risk.
As for recovery it's more of a time based thing. Being unable to sleep means she's somewhat less effective and has to be more useful as a 'competent normal person' as opposed to straight up superhero in the moment. At the same time I view the recovery 'meter' on a sort of 1 to -1 scale. 1 being fully capable and at 'maximum capacity', 0 being in a sleep deprived state where using her abilities starts to be actively risky and -1 being at a point where hallucinations and nightmare manifestations happen, I imagine those as 'rogue powers'. Objects created more on subconscious instinct versus thought out planning. Objects that aren't fully being controlled or less conventional things like tendrils of energy.
In terms of how the usage drainage works I imagine it to be more based on volume and focus currently? (Unless that's too vague?) So to conjure a crate for example that would be fully within her current limit of an object that's about half her size wouldn't result in too much exertion, but to conjure about a house or two worth of crates over the entire day would be quite a lock. Similarly, conjuring and maintaining for example a weapon or two for the entire day wouldn't be very detrimental, but keeping someone else on the team equipped with a set of weapons for the entire day would be far more costly in terms of energy.

Does that help at all?
Hmm, I see. It seems a little limited in my opinion, but if that sounds like something you'd enjoy writing, I'll approve it. Feel free to post your CS in the Characters tab and I'll send you a link to the Discord server.
@Medili I appreciate your interest, but I will be making the first post on Thursday night or Friday of this week, so if you could make the CS earlier than Sunday that'd be great. It'll still be early in the roleplay so it'd be fairly easy for you to jump in, but I don't want to delay the roleplay either.
Mother - Angela Turner - Physiotherapy nurse Father - Jeffrey Turner - Mechanic Maternal Grandmother - Paige Morrison - Retired Paternal Grandmother - Jessica Marie Turner - Retired Paternal Grandfather - Phillip Turner - Tour Bus Driver
Occupation:
Former student currently unemployed
Appearance:
Paige isn't very imposing, or intimidating, but she doesn't look weak or timid either. She stands at 5'6" tall, her triangular build kept lean and fit. Thick, straight, dirty blonde hair falls just past her shoulders, framing her pale, elfin-yet-stoic features, and her big, stormy blue eyes. Paige has fully embraced athleisure wear as a way of life, and would probably live in head-to-toe Adidas if she could afford it all.
As Trice, however, she dons an all black racing skin suit she ordered from amazon, a pair of matching black sprinting shoes, and a black thermal mask over her lower face. She has no pockets, but what else is new.
Superpower:
Super Speed; Paige has the ability to slip out of sync with normal time, effectively gaining the ability to 'speed up' relative to the rest of the universe. While operating at super speeds, she also has a dampened experience of physical forces, and is able to utilize this feature to a number of effects. For example, since her experience of time is dilated, her experience of gravity is lessened, and as she reaches the threshold for time virtually stopping, this feature becomes debilitating to her. Her momentum, kinetic output, her experience of drag and friction, everything is affected by her super-speed, which can be a good thing, OR a bad thing if pushed too far or used irresponsibly, with consequences for both Paige and her surroundings. Weakness; Paige has four major weaknesses. Firstly, she is a squishy human. Though the effects she can have on the environment might make her seem tough, she's just as vulnerable as anyone out on the street ... IF you can hit her while she's at normal speed ... or poison her, drown her, etc. She can also get worn out, and succumb to injuries/conditions. Secondly, her powers aren't on all the time. Even in a heavy combat situation, she can't see the effects of what she's done, see what anyone else is doing, communicate, or move forward with anything while every second is taking minutes to pass. She would just go insane five minutes in. Third ... ly? This effect affects only Paige. Not anyone nearby, not her equipment, not her outfit. Anything Paige plans on taking up to full speed needs to be able to survive the journey. This means that, to effectively tap into her full power, she'll need to find some way to equip herself with gear that will survive her speed, or get really comfortable with the idea of being a nudist superhero. LASTLY, while Paige is quite the hazard to the environment, it's also hazardous to her. Her powers lend her some level of protection from the negative effects of physical forces compared to her negative effects on her environment, she is not immune. Moving too fast through atmosphere burns, lessened gravity makes her less able to run/move around, trying to run up a wall too forcefully will break the wall, not to mention that using super-speed while submerged in water would probably just crush her. This effect becomes more extreme the more she dilates time, and if time virtually stops, a timeless environment would likely kill her in a matter of minutes. Air itself would be solid.
Skills:
Paige is a gifted athlete with good agility and hand-eye coordination. She knows how to fix a car, having helped her father maintain his own vehicles since she could hold a socket. It's no surprise she can also drive, though she doesn't have a car. She knows her way around anything you could find in a high school shop class, be it wood or metal, and has a little bit of experience with electronics, but again only what she learned from a high school course. On the lighter side, she knows how to play piano, but she's only played for her own amusement since early grade school.
Equipment:
Paige actually can't carry equipment without it being a liability, not until she finds or has someone make gear that can stand up to the speeds she can move at.
Personality:
Paige is a very thoughtful person, even if she's not the smartest one in the group. She likes to say that she leaves herself open for thoughts to come and go, rather than focusing on anything in particular. It allows her to be a little spontaneous in her day to day life, even if she anchors herself to a few rituals, and to avoid being the kind of person constantly facing down anxieties.
She's open to new experiences, points of view, and information, and will listen to even the worst ideas with at least some consideration for the person speaking, even if she's not onboard. She likes being exposed to art, new music, new places, new food, she just has a bit of trouble saying she's enjoying herself sometimes, or putting exactly what she's enjoying into words. She's a bit of an introvert for lack of confidence. Most of her major achievements have been as part of a team, and not in the academic field so much as the grassy kind of field, and it's very different finding things about herself alone to be confident in.
She's a guarded person, and doesn't tend to share her deepest thoughts with anyone. She's compassionate, even to strangers, even if she doesn't necessarily come across as nice while being helpful.
Biography:
Paige's mother and father met over a broken hand. Not the most romantic introduction, but they always chatted his appointments away until one day she stuffed a note into his pocket with her number on it. Paige was born, healthy and happy, a few years later, shortly after the wedding. Extended family helped buy a house with a little yard and enough space for the three of them. Her first memories are of movie nights and family dinners, of hushed fights over money heard after she went to bed, and her mother coming to sleep beside her when dad came home a little too drunk.
Paige had always been full of energy and happy to run, it was no surprise to anyone when she took to sports in school, and excelled. With her parents both working so much through most of her life, it was nice to have a consistent source of acceptance, approval, and guidance in the from of her various coaches, teachers, and team mates. Some people used that against her, used it to take advantage. A very close call taught her to be careful with her trust, and thankfully taught her to speak up when it's important. Whatever the case, she poured herself into soccer and earned herself a scholarship by the time her final year ended.
She didn't have the best marks, but she had a scholarship to pay for a semester, and at her mother's recommendation she had a year to think about what she was going to do. Her father just said she should get a job. Either way, both hinted it was time to look at moving out. Suddenly Paige, who had mostly thought about soccer for the last few years, had to think about building herself a life.
She still had 'Grad week' to look forward to, though she doubted she would make it through a week of parties. She came home at almost sunrise three days in a row, and well after it on the fourth. Day five she spent recovering, until boredom dragged her out for a run. Day six was the weird one. Coming down in the morning to her father watching the news before work, she poured herself a coffee from the pot and sat down to watch with him.
A meteor had fallen in town ... a meteor had fallen like ... three blocks away. How had she not noticed? She went out that day, stood with innumerable others at the edge of the scene and stared at the men in uniform working in the crater, setting up cover. She was on her way home when it happened. Still sleepy, empty coffee cup in one hand, she wasn't paying attention when she stepped out into a crosswalk. Tires squealed and a horn honked, and Paige turned in time to see a van coming right at her.
Clenching her eyes shut, she waited ... and waited ...
When she opened them, the van was still barrelling down on her, but it was only moving a millimetre a second. The driver and passenger, faces pulled crooked with panic, were frozen. What was going on? Standing there staring, it took her a minute to realize she should take this time to move. Turning, she took a few steps toward the other side of the street, feeling amazingly light on her feet, though her clothing seemed to fight her to move forward, and it was almost like the wind picked up when she walked. Reaching the other side, she turned to look back, a deep frown on her face. Without warning the van lurched forward and came to a sliding stop, tires squealing as driver and passenger jumped out to see if they'd hit Paige. Both looked equal parts confused when they noticed her standing on the opposite sidewalk.
Walking home quickly, she couldn't escape a feeling of excitement. She had superpowers ... WHAT?! She had so many questions and no answers. She could barely sleep that night when she went to bed, and in the middle of the night found herself sneaking into the back yard to try to awaken her powers again. She had figured the trick out by the following day, though she was no kind of expert. She would need practice ... but she was an effing superhuman, how lit was that?!
Deciding she deserved to play around a little, she took her soccer ball into the back yard, spending what seemed like hours messing around, but she needed more space. Packing a bag and tucking her ball under her arm, she went to her old school, closed until next year, and jogged gleefully onto the field. This late in the day, she had it all to herself. Feeling a rush of excitement, she set her ball down, wound up, slowed time, and kicked as hard as she could. Much like her hoodie had done, the ball resisted her at first, deforming as it reached the speed of her foot. It broke contact, and Paige slipped back into normal time.
The ball shot forward like a streak, a spiralling vapour trail left behind it. It had only gone a few dozen feet when it burst into flames, and a moment later struck the school with a thunderous clap and exploded, leaving visible damage to the wall.
Her smile fell away. Looking down at her foot in disbelief, she found that her shoe had suffered a similar fate, the loose-fitting casual sneaker uniformly charred across the top, the smoking ends of laces poking out from the holes.
She was horrified. How fast had it actually been moving?! What if she'd hit someone?! Kicking off the shoe as the heat reached her skin, she shook her head at herself, to think this was something fun. It was another beat before she realized that someone could be watching, and even if they weren't, someone would definitely have heard.
Breaking into super-speed, Paige turned to run home. Again her hoodie pressed against her like it was underwater without her, but she pressed on. Her other shoe was gone by the time she reached the end of the block, pieces of it strewn across the block. Her hood was gone, and the sides and sleeves of her hoodie were tattered and smoking. Patting herself out in a panic, Paige was happy to find that her running shorts, tight to her skin, seemed less affected.
Running the rest of the way home without using her powers, Paige disposed of her damaged clothing and tried not to think about her powers for the rest of the day. Now they were something intimidating that would allow her to make superhuman mistakes instead of her usual human ones. It took only a few hours of boredom for her to talk herself up to just needing practice away from anyone she could harm. She didn't have a lot of money, but amazon found her a cheap skin suit that was supposed to be low-air-resistance or something, a pair of shoes recommended by sprinters, and a mask. The arrived Friday morning, but she hasn't tried anything on yet.
Anything Else: Paige is also totally a vampire @ vv @ SURPRISE ENDIN-naw I think I covered everything.

Ooooh, got it! I'll put it as high priority and try to finish it by today!|
Edit: Aaaand it's up. I hope this is good and fitting enough for the rp! :)
Name: Rosaria Voronin
Hero Name: Spectral
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Family: None
Occupation: Freelance Song Writer
Appearance: Young adult female standing at 165cm (5'5") with black hair slightly over the shoulders in length, one bang covering her right eye while the left is held back with a hairpin. Left ear pierced with an earring. In general she prefers to wear clothing with muted, low saturation colors in an effort to not stand out. Grey, black, and white are tones that can typically be attributed to her. She is rather thin, and of middling height considering her heritage.
Her physical appearance when engaging her powers is quite drastically different with most of her physical body turning into a dark shadowy form with a skull for a head, whereupon her real identity is practically fully concealed. She stands at 180cm (5'9") in this form.

Portrait
Superpower: Shadow Form
Rosaria is able to turn into a shadowy form that made her partially corporeal, yet also not fully ethereal. As she only had this power for about a week, her control of this power is still quite limited. In more details, the strengths and weaknesses that this power confers to her can be listed as the following:
1. Partial corporeality: She is significantly less affected by physical effects while in this form. For example, a punch or any other physical impacts will have a significantly reduced effect on her; a blow to the face by a sledgehammer that would have killed a person of her stature turned into a glancing blow instead in regards to its effect. On the other hand, this also meant that any physical strike performed by her will have its effect just as muted. She is far from ideal when it comes to tasks requiring physical exertion, even if it is as simple as pushing a slightly heavy object. ・Additional Notes: - She is still able to hold objects and wear clothes in this form as she is not completely incorporeal. - When it comes to interacting with objects of incorporeal or immaterial nature, the effects of this form is reversed instead.
2. Shadow Merge: She is able to merge into body of shadows to practically hide herself completely. Additionally, while merging with a body of shadows, she is able to move around it freely and rapidly. As far as limitation goes, the body of shadows need to be at least as big as around 50cm (20 inches) in diameter for her to be able to merge into it. Furthermore, if the body of shadows is erased for whatever reason while she is in it, she will be forcefully ejected and left debilitated for a few seconds. ・Additional Notes: Any articles of clothing she is wearing and object she is holding can be made to merge to the shadows along with her. However, she is unable to take other living being to merge to the shadows with her.
3. Temporary Immateriality: If she concentrated hard enough, she is able to very briefly turn completely incorporeal. This means she is able to very briefly phase through objects. At her current level of control of this ability, it is possible for her to maintain this for only a single second. As such, in application, she is theoretically able to phase through a thin door but not a thick wall. This does not come at no cost however. As mentioned above, she need to concentrate hard to do this. Additionally, this ability is quite exhausting to use, giving her a significant sense of fatigue and tiredness every time she use it. ・Additional Notes: Unlike her other abilities, she is currently unable to turn other object to become immaterial along with her, adding another possible complication to using this ability.
Skills: 1. She is quite competent as a song writer. 2. She possessed extraordinary attention to details, meaning she is more likely than most others to spot differences, unusual details, and notice when something is out of place. 3. She is also decent at using knives to defend herself. This began as a fascination to bladed objects due to her suicidal mind whereupon she would be slashing herself. but as she got better, she turned this fascination into actual proficiency in using knives for fighting.
Equipment: Nothing particularly notable aside from her favorite Russia-made NR-40 combat knife.
Personality: She is a rather quiet person with a rather gloom outlook on things. Thinking negatively comes very naturally to her, typically seeing things in a glass half empty way. When she is down in the dump, this is taken to an even worse level with her becoming rather nihilistic and sarcastic in response to just about anything. Her life experience had left her not entirely of sound mind, and she suffered from hallucinations both visual and auditory. In time she came to be able to discern between what is real and what is not, but she still humor her hallucinations at times by responding to them. This, in fact, became a significant part of why she decided to use her powers for good despite everything that had happened.
If there is a bright side to her personality, it is that she simply does not fake it when she smiles and when she is otherwise being positive for once. There is no deception at all in her rare expression of happiness. She cannot afford to fake something that is now so rare and precious in her life.
Biography: For much of her life, Rosaria's story wasn't a particularly notable or unusual one. Born to a family of Russian immigrant, she grew up in a normal, middle class family with her parents and her older brother where her parents always tried their best to provide for their children. All in all, her childhood was without a doubt a good one compared to those less fortunate than her. A good childhood that enabled her to pursue her passion of writing songs to share with the world.
Unfortunately, things took a turn for the worse during the 18th year of Rosaria's life. Her mother and older brother were involved in an aviation accident while traveling abroad. The plane they boarded had a malfunction which ended in it crashing into a mountainside and killing everyone onboard. Investigation into the accident revealed no foul play; the simple and cold fact was that it was truly just a cruel misfortune: An accident without a perpetrator. For Rosaria and her father, that was even worse than if there had been foul play. After all, it also meant that there wasn't really anyone that they can blame for it. Except for themselves for letting the two board that plane on that day, even though of course nobody could have predicted it anyway.
Regardless, this drove her father and Rosaria both into a deep and enduring depression, and the family soon enough fell into poverty. It was especially harsh for Rosaria, young as she was. Unable to cope with everything, she quit school and instead resigned herself to doing nothing but mourning and blaming herself for being utterly powerless to do anything to change what had already transpired. Then, a misguided action by Rosaria's father made things even worse. Losing his wife and son, and seeing her daughter in a shattered mental state made him very very desperate. In his mind, he wished to at least make things right for Rosaria. So he got in contact with unsavory characters, staged a bank robbery, and then went and got himself killed during the heist. Unsurprisingly, this practically broke Rosaria even more the moment she became aware of what had happened.
Soon after that, Rosaria committed three consecutive suicide attempts which all ended in failure, be it due to sloppy preparations or by lack of will to go through the attempt. She stopped trying after that, although thoughts of suicide continued to plague her mind even to this day.
Suicidal thoughts were not all that ailed her due to her traumas. She also started having hallucinations of her now deceased family members, both seeing them in her sight from time to time and also hearing their voices calling out and talking to her. For a long time, she struggled to accept this condition, her troubled mind finding it extremely difficult to separate reality with her hallucinations. In time however, in something that can be said as a twisted form of luck, the hallucinations instead became something that allowed her to go on with her life. She became accustomed to them enough that she can naturally recognize the hallucinations for what they truly were. Yet at the same time, she found a semblance of normalcy in responding to those hallucinations. After all, it was just like speaking to her dead family members. If fooling herself and pretending as if the hallucinations were real can make her feel better, she saw no reason not to do exactly that. Heck, the hallucinations even encouraged her to pursue her old passion of writing song and the few hobbies that she had. What was once an ailing curse was turned into a coping method by the troubled young lady.
Several years passed since then. Rosaria had came to become a fledgling freelance song writer that were able to make a decent living out of it. She was still the exact opposite of her cheerful nature from before the accident, seeing the world as bleak and horrible, but at least she was living decently nonetheless. Of course, guilt and regret never left her mind. If only she can change what had happened, she would do so without a second thought. She still lamented being a powerless individual, a nobody with no way whatsoever to truly make a difference in the world...
Then, that one event happened. A meteor falling from the sky, fascinating yet seemingly of no concern whatsoever to Rosaria's life. She didn't even really bother to care about it, seeing no reason to do so. She still wouldn't have bothered if not for the fact that she woke up one day, walked to the bathroom of her small private apartment room, and then saw a black half-transparent skull-faced apparition staring back at her from the mirror. That didn't even faze her at first, as she thought it was just her hallucination taking things to the next level, but then she realized that it wasn't a hallucination at all. She would know, she'd gotten really good at discerning reality from her hallucinations after all.
It didn't take long after that for gears to start moving inside Rosaria's head. She started experimenting with it, trying to see what she can and cannot do, what she can and cannot control about this weird thing going on with her. Could it be that she had somehow finally gained a way to be someone who mattered? Someone who can actually make a difference in the world in ways that would have been impossible before? She hesitated, wondering if she should even bother... But then it was the hallucination of her family members who pushed her to finally make a decision. They encouraged her, told her that this is a chance to make things right. Told her that this world could use someone like her to make things better.
So she decided to heed them in the end because she got nothing else to lose anyway. The world's a hell hole that was probably not deserving of heroes... But yeah, there's no harm in trying either. Might as well live and die a hero than live and die a nothing.
And the chance to start, it seems, came at just the right timing. The Precious Metal Vault is being robbed, and it's time to be a damn hero.
Anything Else: I used to have a decently good team of Electric Pokemons that I played competitively with back in high school.
@Guccicorn nice work! You are approved, go ahead and post her in the Characters tab and I'll send you the link to the Discord.
@Medili I like your CS and it is approved. The only thing I'd say is swap out the gun for a knife or something similar (so the problems aren't all solved by shooting at them) and you're good to go. The Discord link is already sent!
@The Man Emperor I appreciate your interest in the roleplay, but I only give out our Discord link to people in the roleplay. I hope you enjoy reading the posts of our talented writers!

Just looked at this now. I'll be making something... within a few days. Maybe tomorrow.
Just looked at this now. I'll be making something... within a few days. Maybe tomorrow.
No rush there. Since the roleplay has started, it will be much harder for me to find a way to insert new characters into the story. There might be a way for me to get you into the roleplay later, but I cannot guarantee this. I'm not saying "no, don't make a CS" but I'm not sure how I'd insert your character into the story at this time.
There is another superhero roleplay open (that I have nothing to do with) that hasn't started if you want to look at it: roleplayerguild.com/topics/186955-the…
