Josh stood behind her when they reached the leyline that they were headed to. Watching her do what she could was fascinating but he was also aware of looking around their surroundings out of sheer habit as he shoved his hands in his jeans pockets. "do what you gotta do, I'll keep an eye out" he told her, knowing there wasn't that much for him to do other than that.
"hmm" Chas replied as he thought over what Trish was telling him. It was curious to say the least but what really caught his curiosity was the fact she said it was a black bird, not a flaming one. "interesting" he commented as he continued to think over everything. "I guess we'll be adding it to the list of things that we gotta figure out." he told her.
Kay gasped and covered her mouth when he told her what his father did to him growing up. It broke her heart that someone who was mesnt to be a protective figure in a child's life was so so cruel. She thought she had it rough when she was nine years old and her father walked out on her, leaving her alone to fend for herself until Sam's parents adopted her, to save her from the system. The verbal abuse she got before he walked out was traumatising to her, as she could never understand why her looks could be so negative for her father. Yet here John was telling her something even worse. "John I... That's awful... I'm so sorry" she told him as she lowered her hand from her mouth.
"no child should have been told that. That wasn't your fault, you were a baby... What your father said makes me sick.. I couldn't ever imagine being so cruel to my child" she said.
