Y'know what, that's a good idea. Anyways, like I said, it's just a few minor things. A matter of semantics really regarding the abilities Precognition and Dispel Magic in particular.

So for Precognition, anything to do with time is going to be a bit iffy, because it's not really covered by any type of magic for the roleplay. Could make a case for Psionics with their telepathy, but that'd be reading their enemy's mind to predict their next move, not looking directly into the future. Same effect, I know, but different means.

In Griff's case, might I suggest changing it to 'Enhanced Awareness' or something like that? Projecting ki in an aura seems to be his thing, so maybe we could say that he can feel the movement of every little thing inside it before it reaches him.

As for Dispel Magic, the wording of its description seems to imply that he'd be able to no-sell any kind of mana based attacks thrown his way and maybe I'm just misinterpreting, but either way it could be an issue. Perhaps change Dispel to Disrupt and say that when in close proximity to a mage, he can give them like a 'shock' of ki which disturbs their focus enough to mess up their magic before they can use it. Sort of like a stun effect.

Anyways, that's it for Griff. Since you managed to write up a whole other CS while I'm writing this response, I might as well address it too. First of all, I just wanna say... you stole my idea! How dare y- just kidding. Actually, I'm kinda relieved coz I had a lot of clashing ideas for my 2nd character. and since you beat me to writing a full CS, that narrowed it down some. Anyways, everything looks fine. It's just the abilities once again, or just one in this case.

So off the bat, no teleportation allowed. At least not as a magic ability. Could be equipment based, but not magic since it's not covered by telekinesis or telepathy. I like the anchoring to a position part though, so maybe just change 'Teleport' to 'Anchor' or something like that? Say that he uses telekinesis to sort of latch onto a surface and be able to hang off from walls and ceilings.

@deadpixel101 The kit primarily was inspired by Final Fantasy 8, Assassin's Creed, Ghost Recon, and D&D. I can see that Dishonored actually would have been a clearer picture lol, I just haven't played it in a while and what I did play was only for an hour so it lives less in my memory box. Now you've inspired me to go back and play it!

For Griff:

About Precog - I like the idea of him being hyper-aware of others' movements. It would make sense that if he focuses his Ki, he can feel the nuances of another's power and force at different degrees allowing him to potentially read and react slightly faster to what is about to go down.

About Dispel - The idea for Dispel was that if he could get a mage within range their magic would be rendered useless. Forcing them to try and retreat or duel (hence his specialty). However, in retrospect, I can see how this is a problem and so I will change it into a stunning effect instead.

For Stehl:

There can always be two, competition is encouraged by Stehl ;). No teleportation, noted! I am going to think about the "Anchor" ability and play with some other abilities that might fit his character too. I will let you know what I am thinking in a little.

Ah well I hope you enjoy it :D I've been replaying it recently which is probably why I thought of that so quick lol. It was mostly the link ability that made me think of it; there's an equivalent in the second game.

My CS is coming along! I've got a history done, what I want their powers to be (and talked a little with Merlin about that). It's just filling out the last bits and formatting now ^ ^

I took some inspiration from your noble house backstory actually!

Alright, keep me posted. Also, I just want to say that I legit had the same idea for my Spectre character being an avenging Ghost of [insert name of fallen hometown or whatever here] with a similar kind of personality. Great minds think alike, eh? Anyways, I suppose it'd be a common enough story for those who'd be willing to become Spectres in the first place. Perhaps I could keep that revenge aspect and still have my character be an edgy boi, just in a different way. I'm thinking a religious or spiritual motif. Gonna have to think on it a bit more.

I did notice that you misspelled Belisio at the end of the first paragraph in the backstory, but that's clearly just a typo. If there's anything I could suggest, it's renaming the 'Form Change' ability to 'Phase Shift' just because it sounds cooler, but it's not like our characters will be calling out their moves like it's One Piece or something. Asides from that, what else can I say but character approved? Feel free to post your cs in the Characters thread and I'll add it to the list.

@TheMerlin You could have him come from the same village with more religious zeal and different ideals of why he is fighting. Maybe Stehl makes him disgusted because he does not believe Stehl represents the pride of Gein well. Maybe they knew each other when they were younger. I'm sure whatever you put down it'll be compelling. I apologize for snatching the idea up...I could always forge another character and leave the space for you, I do not mind.

Also updated Griff's Dispel to Disrupt and his Precog to Hyper-Aware.

Hey guys, sorry for the delayed response. I've been really busy lately and have only had enough time to read everyone's posts and msgs, but not enough to reply myself. Finally got some breathing room now though, so let's make the rounds.

Specialty: close quarters fighting, both with and without weapons. He is nimble and quick, dodging almost any strike before using one fell swoop to take out his competition.

Personality: Emmet is a well-groomed and happy go lucky man in his free time, well known for his boisterous laugh and his perfect shave. He talks often about his beauty routines and loves to make pleasant conversation. In combat though, Dukes becomes another man. He gets into a deep focus and his face goes blank. He dances around his competition with great grace, but no joy, and he does not stop until all ki has left their body. Once he finishes fighting, he returns to his normal self, as if nothing had ever happened.

Background:
The Butcher was born under the name Markeith Singh to a noble family in Belisio. At his birthday a rapier was made for him, one that he would be raised to use. It was named rasselbock and forged of the best metal money could buy. During his upbringing Singh was raised for war, his education surrounding the use of his rapier in dueling and modern sidearms in close quarters combat. He learned of how to command those below him and how to defend himself should he enter hand-to-hand combat. Upon his eighteenth birthday he was presented with the blade that was his birthright, yet something did not feel right. Throughout all his education he had learned how to lead others and how to defend himself, yet with this he had been taught how to tell other men to kill for him.
That year he snuck out of the house one evening and found his way to a place he had heard about, known simply as the dome. Deep under the streets he put on his powered chest plate and took his blade. It was supposed to be a light duel, first to draw blood won. He danced around his opponent, leaping to and fro as he played with his food. The crowd watched and laughed, seeing the large brute that Singh faced take swing after swing to no avail. Finally, with the crowd at the climax of entertainment and with his foe tired he lunged into to strike with force. He suddenly felt an odd power flowing through his veins, and as he went in his vision blurred and he felt his arms move beyond what he ever believed his could do. Silence surrounded him followed by a large thud, and suddenly his full vision returned to him. On his rapier was blood, and he turned to the crowd in victory as they watched in horror. Suddenly he realized what had happened and seeing the gurgling corpse on the floor he realized he had gone too far.
He quickly fled, realizing that he had murdered a man. For the next week he went into the depths of his home city, seeing and living amongst the wretches of society. He was unsure how to react to the sights he saw, and he came to realize that not much had changed from his family’s previous actions. After all, what was the difference between the man he had stabbed and the wretched and starving poor whom his family had not helped despite their great wealth? He did not ponder the question for long, because he was more focused on his own monetary situation, as he had nothing beside his blade and his armor to provide for him.
By some divine providence though he was saved by an unfamiliar face who had tracked him down. The man, wearing a long trench coat with a high collar had seen his crimes that fateful night, and he knew that Singh had nowhere else to go. He took the boy in and helped him rebrand himself. A new set of clothes and fake papers later Singh was now Dukes, and he had a job offer from the man. And so Emmet ‘the Butcher’ Dukes was born, and he began his work in a place known as the Pit, an illegal underground operation that saw nightly performances of duels and fights that only stopped when one man lay dead. Dukes quickly became a prized fighter, slaying many in the pit. He lost all love for the game he was in though over time, and it simply became a monotonous dance for an uncaring and criminal crowd.
After nine years of his career, Dukes was finally found by city authorities. He was brought to trial on account of murder and some other petty crimes he purportedly committed during his career in the Pit. He was found guilty on all accounts, but on death row he was given one last chance by the government - after some intervention from his family who were delighted at the news of their living son. All he had to do was give his skills to the military and he would be spared from execution. What else was a boy to do in a situation like this?

Equipment: a rapier, a power armor chest plate, a small locket with a family crest, laz revolver, energy buckler, laz dagger, automatic plasma caster, stick grenades, and spiked boots that can be used for climbing surfaces.

Abilities: powerful use of ki for unnaturally fast movement and reflexes, dancing and feats of gymnastics, strong lunges, and the ability to disarm opponents in close combat. He also uses his ki to heal himself from terrible wounds at an incredibly fast rate. Finally, through his primary weapon, rasselbock, he is able to concentrate his ki in order to empower his weapon, in which the guard of the weapon grows into his flesh and he becomes one with it. In this state he is wounded, but he gains almost complete connection with his weapon which glows with the spirit of the fight, during this time his sheer willpower can allow his blade to pierce through armor and plates that no blade this old should be able to pierce through. After using this he is quite tired and requires rest, this process is also extremely painful.

Also, I'll give it another day until I start writing the first post for the roleplay. Turn order will be based on whoever got their characters approved first, which you can see at the top of the Characters thread listed in descending order, but that's just for the first round of posts. After that, everyone is free to post at their own pace.

Anyone who hasn't gotten a cs ready by then can still join after we begin, but you might have to wait a bit before being able to post, depending on whether we're still in the first round of posts or not.

Also added this paragraph to the Setting in regards to mana:

There are 2 methods of using mana, manipulation and casting. Manipulation is directly controlling the elements in one's surrounding environment. This is limited by line of sight and the availability of whatever the mage can skilfully control, but is quicker and generally less taxing to use. Casting on the other hand involves the conversion of raw magical energy into matter to conjure something from nothing. Useful for when resources are limited or unavailable, but the feedback is more burdensome on the mage as manipulation is still required after casting, essentially doubling the cost of power involved.
