i was ok with math all the way to sixth grade or seventh but once they add letters to it and other stuff i was like uh what the world is this.

I work in a school on a daily basis. I encounter children who have not yet taken the time to memorize the multiplication table. I regularly encourage them to do that very thing. Because once you do, math makes so much sense and becomes easier.

Regarding variables, if you do not know the value of a factor, it is easier to replace it with a letter that can change value as you need it to. In some forms of advanced math, you are not searching for a specific numerical answer but a sequence of them that might be plotted on a coordinate plane. The variables are quite necessary.

@HEAVY METAL I just found The Hu from Mongolia. I tend to gravitate towards Japan, but as a Metal Head, I can't NOT hear this...

You get three facts for the price of one!

I was a Good Samaritan today. Raked a neighbor's front yard, completely covered in a big pile of leaves. (Wheelchair ramp leading to the front door, if it gives you an idea of why.) And put some gloves, that the owner probably lost in them, on his porch mailbox. A day earlier where I had to put my next door neighbor's mail in their box. Since I got their personal family letters.

Though since I 'waited for a good day to do it'. I got do it in the middle of a cold drizzle. But hey, at least I avoided the upcoming snow.

Also. Any issues that I've had with roleplaying for the past year or so. (Perhaps, even longer than that.) Feels bizarrely parallel to *all* my real life problems. (That don't involve chronic back pain. <.<')

And it's been equally taxing on me.

In that they all stem from people who refuse to communicate, or tell it you straight. (Known as 'lying by omission', if I could pinpoint my ongoing and recurring issue, with basically everyone that I've had problems with over the past several years.)

From months of trying to help a friend get paid at his job. (And subsequently being driven f*cking insane. Because I was the only one who ever acted like it mattered, and the only reason it was ever fixed.)

To now, where I have another friend who wants to rent a room of my house. And I swear to god, the amount of times that I've had people dodge and refuse to answer simple f*cking questions. It will be the end of me.

But in an attempt to solve the one problem, that's under any part of my control. I plan to get a gym membership, before the end of the year. So maybe I can relieve some of my stress or pain. I will soon see.

A little upset over the fact that school didn't teach me/my generation fundamentals for life.

I was never taught how to write a resume, a cover letter, or any thing else of the sort.

Budgeting? No. Mental health? Only as an elective and even then, it was a psychology class - not an actual class dealing with mental health and teaching us how to deal with it. How about sewing? How to comfort a person?

Don't get me wrong - math, science, literature, history - all of these are important and I'm not pretending that it's not. BUT HOLY SHIT. I don't feel like I was really taught anything for life, ya know?

I made a comment once before, that our society made a decided course correction starting in the 1980s that pushed young people into college whether they could handle it or not, afford it or not. It was fine for the young people coming out of those first three decades, but now it is biting society on the butt.

You can't find a plumber, handyman, electrician, mason, or any vocational worker because all the good ones retired and only a few young people have gone that route in the past 30 years. It seems those that went to college look down their noses at vocational workers.

Therefore, HS curriculum has been oriented toward preparing young people for college, like all hte courses you mentioned.

I am a bit older, graduating HS at the cusp of the generations being pressured into college. I remember taking a course in HS called, Singles Living. The Home Economics teacher disguised it to get boys to join up. We learned how to change a flat tire, boil water, use a sewing machine, stitch with needle and thread and other skills you would need to live on your own.

I multi-task on auto-pilot at work sometimes... and often hear IVs and alarms in my sleep because of working the COVID ICU.

I thought the series was...decent.
it wasn't bad, but i wouldn't call it terrific either.
It was better than that remake movie that studio tried to pass off as a chucky film that's for certain. That's just my opinion of course.
