Welcome to the Voting and Feedback round for MFP#8!


Voting and Feedback guidelines

Please take your time to read through all the entries before voting for your favourite work. The reasons you base your vote on are up to you, as long the vote isn’t based on whether or not you like the author. 
It would be nice if you could share why you voted for a specific work.
Giving feedback is optional but highly encouraged. When giving feedback you should be respectful and constructive. It’s good to point out any flaws or the things you feel could be improved or why you didn't like something, but don’t be mean. 
Make sure to point out what you liked or what appreciated in the entry too.
Contestants may (and are encouraged to) vote and/or give feedback for the other entries but shouldn’t vote for their own entry. If contestants wish to withhold a vote and only give feedback, that is good too.
The entries are anonymous unless the writer asked for having their name added. That being said, writers may claim their work at any time during or after the voting period.
The entry with the most votes will win, but in case of a tie a Contest Mod will cast the tie-breaker vote.
You can vote for entries and post your feedback in this thread, but if you rather have your vote and/or feedback be anonymous you can PM it to @Calle.
The voting period deadline is December 30th, 9:00 CET, which is 8:00 server time (both times are in a.m.).

Words on paper, they deliver the message
Runes, hieroglyphs, letters; a form of art
Italics and bold, to show what matters
The journey of the characters, a lesson for us all
Inspiring speeches or boring prose
Never-ending cycle of writing, reading, editing
Good job, it is complete.


Writing. A word that brings so much love and anxiety to my being. A word full of passion and fire, and a word of depth and the unknown all at once. A beautiful juxtaposition that lives inside of my mind just waiting to be tapped into.

A river of words that flow from my mind to my waiting fingers as each piece comes together to form a story wholly its own, willed into existence by my effort. A story so easily allowed to be in ruin or to thrive as I see fit but I am no god; I am a writer with the power of thought, and that’s enough.

My vote will be going to Writing, definitely my favourite piece of this contest and the one which read with most heart, soul and passion for me. I connected more with this one on an emotional level, and hence it has my vote.

As for the other entries, I applaud the panache of absolute minimalism, but would suggest its minimalism is perhaps a bit too absolute, even Hemmingway had his limits.

With words, unfortunately I've never been much of a fan of the acrostic form when it comes to poetry, although I suppose its use here is more fitting to the theme than other examples I've come across. I also felt some of the words which formed the acrostic of 'Writing' were somewhat weak choices, your use of 'The' as an example. I think I would have preferred it more if you had stuck to more thematic examples, like you did with the first three lines, which I felt were the strongest in the poem.
