Name: Luis Sanchez
Callsign: Firebrand
Paranatural Degree: Abnormal
Threat Level: Concern
Age: 32 years
Appearance: Luis stands roughly 5' 9" with dark brown eyes and black hair, kept short and neat in a military-style cut. He is Hispanic, with moderately tanned skin and a scar across the bridge of his nose. He has an athletic build and carries himself with a slight chip on his shoulder, although he has the bearing of a military man.
On Mission ApparelUS Army regalia; bulletproof vest, mag pouches, the works, except he doesn't sport the US flag as a patch on his shoulder. Instead it is a stylised patch of a skull on fire that sits on his shoulder.
Off MissionGunmetal grey tank top with a design that says "Fire Hazard" on the back, blue jeans and sneakers, with a pair of leather gloves. He lets his dog tags hang openly around his neck.
Personality: Luis is a bit of a loose cannon but with a certain level of restraint borne in him through his time in the military. He will often question where his loyalties lie, the intentions of his higher-ups and their smarts. But the loyalty to his superiors instilled in him, combined with the inherent fear of repercussions, keeps him in line. With any potential teammates, however, he is a light-hearted and friendly individual who doesn't hesitate to get to know his team. He often likes to crack jokes and play small pranks that harm no one, but can be serious if he needs to be.
Background: Brought up as the son of a mechanic and a bus driver, Luis was quickly disillusioned by the relative poverty he grew up in, although he took great strides in making sure he didn't come home to squalor. He apprenticed under his father at his auto shop, learned how to hotwire cars and quickly fell to crime in stealing vehicles and selling them for parts. The police were quick to take notice, however, and he would spend several years in prison before returning to a broken family; his mother was left homebound after a car accident and his father had given up his job to take care of her. Vowing to take care of their monetary needs once again, Luis applied for the US Army.
Even with his criminal record, he was allowed into service, passed through basic without incident and was assigned to an infantry battalion that deployed into Afghanistan several times through the 2000s. It was during this time that Luis' prowess with the supernatural was discovered; during a patrol through a small village, his company came under fire from Al Qaeda insurgents. Pinned down, under heavy artillery bombardment and with no way out, Luis and his squad were cornered in a cul de sac, separated from the rest of the company. Like a cornered animal baring its fangs, Luis' power to control fire manifested in an aggressive firestorm that swept through the village streets. The subsequent cleanup was handled by Papers and Luis was removed from his unit and integrated into the PZPRS as a Hard Cover agent for more aggressive situations that required the use of force.

Paranatural Effects: PyrogenesisLuis can create and manipulate fire in many forms without harming himself. In its most basic premise, Luis' powers manifest in him being able to conjure fire in his hands like a stereotypical mage. As an offensive move, he can hurl fireballs and shoot jets of concentrated fire from his palms, much like a mage can. The fire doesn't hurt him but it
can potentially harm any allies in his line of fire.
Of course, the only thing limiting Luis' use of his powers is his imagination. And being of the younger sort with experience in certain fields, his grasp of how his powers works certainly demands the UAV supervision that he's saddled with. His creativity includes focusing thin jets of fire from his fingertips into something akin to a blowtorch or a tiny jet engine, along with being able to set things on fire from afar by merely looking at them and focusing hard on it. He can also create explosions by manifesting a concentrated sphere of fire to superheat the air within it, then releasing the air in a burst of force surrounded by flame. These explosions can range from tiny firecrackers in size to as big as an average person. Flight, however, continues to evade him. Luis can also sense and utilise other sources of fire in a
ten-foot radius around him.
