As an aside, as it seems our party has perhaps known each other for a time already, if anybody would like to discuss relationships and/or has ideas about how Arkisz and their own character may interact with one another, hit me up!


While we wait, we should discuss this. Prompt makes it sound like we've been adventuring together for some time now, so does anyone have any ideas as to the group relationship and possible command? (Most groups I've been in has some type of group leader).

Most of the groups I have been in have been a majority rules type with decision making but maybe one member is the talker or the "figure head" leader if you will. There has never been a true, leader so to speak. At least that's been my experience.

Group relations are another thing, gotta go through the sheets really quick to see everyone's personality and all that. So Ill get back to you on that :P

As for Group names, most groups who travel together for a while have a name, anyone have Ideas for one for us?

Oooh, a group name? I may be a nerd but I like The Outsiders as we're so mixed and diverse in races. I'm assuming the usual main races will be the most common ones here too, correct @Rush99999

I too have mostly observed group-based decision-making in my campaigns, with no real leader - more like each person who specializes in the specific task at hand would take the lead if need be.

In terms of group relations yeh it's a whole topic of conversation on it's own.

And group names are.. potentially interesting, lol.

In terms of party relationships, I feel Flicker's feelings about each of their teammates would be as follows...

- Artisz: Flicker admires Artisz's more calm, level-headed personality and wishes they had that level of emotional control. They also may feel some sense of kinship since they both have parents of different races.

- Aura: They've probably clashed at least a couple of times during their travels due to their different personalities and world views. I also imagine Flicker feels a mixture of curiousity and resentment when it comes to Aura's patron. Flicker only has their mother (a wood elf) and doesn't know who their father is, whether he's a genasi or a genie or what have you, so they'd be interested on some level that Aura actually knows how she's a genasi and has some connection to that part of her heritage, but also feel jealous that Aura actually has some kind of relationship with her other parent.

- Jormund: Similiar to Artisz, I think Flicker would feel a level of kinship and admiration for Jormund, though not to the same degree. Also probably critical of Jormund's drinking.

- Plasm: Flicker feels uncomfortable around Plasm. While they value emotional control, Plasm probably comes across as more detached and alien to Flicker, who is trying very hard not to see like they're judging the plasmoid but.... they're totally judging.

- Rook: Not sure entirely how Flicker would feel about Rook. It depends how aware the party are of each other's backstories at this point, because I feel if Flicker knew about Rook's past crime and that she was trying to redeem herself, they'd be cautious of Rook but also supportive. After all, Flicker's done some things in the past that they aren't so proud of so yeah, they'd get it, but they'd also want to keep an eye on Rook to make sure she's keeping true to her word. If the party doesn't know, I'm not sure.

Feel free to correct me on any of this and/or add your own thoughts. I'm just spitballing based on what I've read in the CSs ^^;

That is indeed the case. I should note, however, that rarity doesn't necessarily make you outcasts. Of all the races that have been picked so far, plasmoids are the only race that is discriminated against. And even then, it isn't as bad as what half-orcs or tieflings get.

This would totally make sense to me tbh. Plasm is extremely alian in nature and would stick out not only physically but in personality. They had interaction with the monetary and frequently went into town with her "mother" for supplies often, but they still lived most of their discovered life in isolation where the only other person they would see was a mage deep in study. Though Plasm wants to learn to be "human" and have friends, it's hard.

Outsiders was in reference to the DC universe, like I said, being nerdy and none too serious. Honestly it only makes sense that most would see the ooze and discriminate against it as something unusual and unsure. Thus the full body suit and mask, though that'll only help so much.

Well considering that three of the party members are what would be considered plane touched, and one is a plasmoid extra terrestrial, I'm pretty sure Outsiders isn't that far off lol.

If the party has been working together for awhile, Jørmund would probably have offered to repair other party members weapons and armor. At least any that would need a blacksmith to repair. Mending can fix most everything else.

I have half a mind to detail Arkisz's sheet more in terms of his personality and overall description, but I also feel it's initially easier to do so IC.
..We shall see.

Keeping in mind that the squad would have probably known each other for varying amounts of time, the longest probably being three years or so as mentioned in the initial post, I think it could be a sensical decision on my part for Arkisz to have perhaps joined the group only a few months ago.
In regards to his feelings towards the rest of the party..

Aura - Although he has no qualms with lying(outside of scientific disinformation), Arkisz finds it somewhat hard to fully trust an individual who's modus operandi is just.. well, dishonesty. He holds enough confidence in Aura that he does not believe she would move to hurt fellow party members - as she has shown she does have morals - but he feels it is only illogical to lay full trust in one who is so adept at deceiving others. He has also, however, probably picked up the bulk of what sparse, janky sarcasm he uses from her -- he's still learning.

Flicker - Flicker is, in Arkisz's eyes, a kind individual at heart - even if they have a bit of a temper. Due to the nature of his profession, the Vedalken has spent a good deal of time around more gruff craftsmen and Dwarves especially - so a temper does not bother him as much as one would think. Being that he feels no need to reserve information from others when asked, it was revealed in short time that the two of them have similar circumstances of birth - something that could perhaps aid in the formation of some sort of bond between the two.

Jørmund - Arkisz, while reserved in nature, has found most of his acquaintances in the form of those who share his love for craftsmanship. Few of them have been Men of the Cloth, but he is not unfamiliar with such individuals, and respects their devotion no less than he does his own. He has probably held, or tried to hold, more than a few conversations with Jørmund about various crafts, especially had they happened upon a particularly fastidious structure or object. Arkisz appreciates Jørmund's sincere nature.

Plasm - Plasm is definitely of great interest to Arkisz. Having never seen a creature of their kind, and not quite being able to identify their origin through eye-balling it, Arkisz finds himself regularly drawn to discovering more about Plasm's nature over time. It is semi-often than one could find him gazing blankly in the Plasmoid's direction as his mind wanders. He sees some surface-level resemblance to himself in terms of their relative distance to outward emotions, but realizes that Plasm is much more than just a being that assimilates what it experiences, and respects that - unlike some.

Rook/Rala - Rook is one of the rougher sorts of people that Arkisz does not involve himself with much. He has made acquaintances with a few city guards in his years - mostly thanks to his ability to craft quality weapons for them - so he is ultimately not stranger to a few more rakish personalities. He holds a similar internal monologue between Rook and Aura - though Rook is clearly a bit more.. rigid.

I feel like everyone made such stoic and serious characters meanwhile mine is just a chaotic mess of a character.
