Johnny had previously been in the army when he turned 18, joining a small group of other soldiers as an infantry unit. During this time Johnny had seen a lot of things that would make your skin crawl, killing human beings that still haunts him to this very day. Some of his duties including infiltration and assassinating high-ranking opposing operatives.
After doing his tour of service he later joined the police force. Working as an officer for a small town in America. Mostly busting drug dealings, or assaults. One particular case was the serial killing of teenage girls, the bodies being mutilated and displayed in grotesque positions. With his investigative skills and medical knowledge, he was able to arrest the culprit. This achievement did not go unnoticed, as he soon gained noticeable fame at the time. While working as a police officer, he got his degree in psychology and behavioural studies.
Why were you hired into the B.A.U./how were you recruited:
John kept applying to be an F.B.I agent ever since he got out of the military, even during his time as a police officer however his application would always be denied. This changed when he was noticed for solving the serial killing case in his town, being recommended by someone in the bureau his application this time was accepted.

Background information
Johnny was born in Taylorsville, Utah living with his Mormon parents. At a young age he was considered a black sheep in the family, not taking religion as seriously as his family. Even questioning some of the doctrines much to the embarrassment of his father. As a teenager he would rebel by talking badly about Mormonism, causing him to be beaten badly by his father. After finishing high school John ran away at the age of eighteen, moving to California. During this time he was a drifter working odd jobs to try and survive. Later he joined the army wanting to do something important with his life. In the army, he was a part of a small group that was tasked with killing generals and other high-ranked officers. A particular incident was his teammates killing a general and his family, Johnny could only watch in horror as this happened.
After serving his tour of duty he moved to China, living with a group of Buddhist monks. Learning and practicing being a Buddhist, including being a vegan and practicing their martial arts. Moving to France and making some money as a painter, falling in love with a man named Jean Lavoie. Jean taught Johnny how to fence and use a rapier, as well as appreciating the smaller details in life. Jean later broke up with Johnny who soon left France, as he didn’t think there was anything left for him to live in France. Soon he moved back to America making his home in a small town in Colorado. There he was mostly solving husbands beating their wives, or local kids selling drugs. But soon the town was hit by a string of gruesome murderers. While this was going on he met and started dating a woman named Diane Beecher, The two of them started a deep bond and were going to marry each other. Getting his degree in psychology and behavioural studies, having a desire to join the B.A.U.When he solved the case of the serial killings, Diane was murdered by the real killer who framed a mentally ill man.
John although loved the attention and admiration he was getting from solving the case, he felt empty because the real killer was still out there and his wife was murdered by him. But he was not accepted with his first application, only being accepted when he finally “Solved” the serial killing case in his town.
