I'm thinking that Dante would've received the full premium package of snarky-ass remarks and mean comments from Natalie's buddies. I'd say that Nat herself would've been either indifferent about it or given Dante a 'pass' every now and then. I have a question, though: how well known would that transition have been at Ritman, if at all? I think Natalie would lean more towards not doing anything against Dante if she knew about it.

I kinda figured that Dante would've only started really moving towards his gender affirmation stuff after graduating from Ritman, but anyone who knew him in middle school and earlier would probably have noticed a change with how he presented himself. So I’d imagine that because of that there would've been rumours flying around either way about his sexuality and gender.

I do think they'd have an interesting dynamic though if Nat's buddies did do all that to him. Like Dante would probably still have some sort of lingering resentment towards her, even if she was always the least actively malicious out of her group.

Fun. I'm all for that. What genre was Billy's high school band? Dante's thing was more old-school punk - Dead Kennedys, Fugazi, etc., but I feel like for this anything goes since it was more something he did for fun. And they can be smoking buddies too. Dante's a techbro though so he vapes instead :^)

So his current band is Still Life Gospel, in high school he was in one called The White Crosses which definitely was a lot more classic punk than what he does now, so that totally tracks.

If they were smoking pals, he might also have hung out with Samuel(at least incidentally).

I think it’s the order of the italics and color at the text at the very end. Should be both i’s on the outside and the color on the in or Vice versa

I wrote down Melanie's relations to other characters using your sheet, @Aeolian. Hope that's okay.

If anything doesn't ring true for you, just let me know. I'm open to suggestions. I also haven't any clue what Melanie and Dante's relationship would have looked like. I could use some suggestions here, @Laertes.

So far Mel's sheet is missing "best friend" and "partnership" in terms of labels. I am okay with this but if anyone has ideas to claim those labels, feel free to share them with me. She doesn't necessarily need to have had either with PCs though.

Just from what I can see in Melanie’s sheet, I feel like they’re pretty similar in terms of academics. Maybe she would enjoy having someone to ‘talk shop’ with? They could even have been on the same Math Olympiad team once lol

Or it could go completely the other way. Dante can get kind of over-enthusiastic when he starts getting to know someone or when he gets the chance to talk about something he’s interested in. I understand that Mel enjoys her alone time, so I can see how she might find him a little annoying too.

@Laertes True, she would probably find his over-enthusiastic approach offputting. But maybe that is exactly what she needs to form a friendship. Cause she tends to disappear into her solitude hole sometimes and forgets that keeping up with friends is a thing you do. So if Dante took care of that initial "hey let's be friends" part, maybe they formed a sort of bond.

I see that Dante is into computer stuff, would he by any chance also be into gaming? Cause if so, I can see Mel and him having the kind of mutual friendship where they meet up once in a while to game and otherwise would meet up online to co-op. She's not a hardcore gamer, given that she didn't have the time with all her tinkering and studying, but she would whip out her PlayStation or Nintendo console at least 3 times week. You can find her playing all sorts of things, examples include Genshin Impact, Life Is Strange, Horizon Zero Dawn (an absolute favorite of hers), Elden Ring, but also things like Hollow Knight, Zelda, Pokemon, and Undertale. She has a wide variety of things she enjoys in that regard but her favorites always seem to be some sort of RPGs. If you think Dante would be a gamer, then I can see them having been friends throughout high school and Dante would probably be the one person Melanie has had contact with the longest after high school, simply because they were gaming together and if they'd played in some online game together, she would ping him when they were both online and co-op.

So their relationship could very well be best friends if they'd stayed in contact. Though I am basing this entire friendship around them both gaming right now. But it would fit Melanie perfectly to have a best friend away in San Fran while she's in Manchester.

been high-strung to fuck with uni coming up but i will find time to sit down and hammer out jacks relations + an ic post sometime before i move on saturday. i think most of them are just in the comfortable acquaintance zone unless anybody can think of any particular ideas, and those from the original game ive already discussed relations with. i agree with the ones that have been sent my way so far!

@Benzaiten For sure, I could see Dante wearing Mel down to try and make friends. He probably scoped her out to be somewhat of an outcast too, but mostly as someone he has a few shared interests with. It’d make sense for Dante to sort of cling to someone who’s actually capable of and willing to parse the stuff he talks about.

For the gaming part, that could definitely be a thing, though I feel like he would be too busy with his startup to really keep up with all of that, so it could be a case of them drifting apart after graduation. I see pre-college Dante as someone who has a much richer life online than he does outside of it, so he’d probably would’ve been a big MMORPG guy. So games like Guild Wars, WoW and RuneScape (lol). If that’s something that Mel‘s also into, I can imagine them planning for and going on raids together.

@Laertes For sure. I would mark him down as best friends then for their high school times. Do you want them to have kept contact regardless of gaming or that it all just fizzled out after high school? I personally would find it nice for Mel to have at least one person she somehow managed to stay in contact with after school.

Unlikely, since Billy has demonstrated to be nice and Trystan only does that to people they think have it coming... which would have been the especially mean ones. It is actually quite possible that he likes Billy as a person haha
